My lashes were beautiful when finished but did not last no time, 1st day they were falling out, I'd randomly look in the mirror and they be sitting on my face. I did wipe some off by mistake right after I left which was on me. I wiped my face and all these lashes came off on the towel. Iv never had this issue. I contacted Emmy the next morning letting her know that they kept falling out and all she did was apologize and say she doesn't know why. She did offer me an appointment after I messed them up but nothing was offered when I told her they were Continuously falling out which is on her. I've come at 11:30 on a Friday and they're closed without explanation and I've also come midday and it's so crowded there's nowhere to sit and wait. I recently had eye lashes extensions, next day my lashes are on my face. It literally coming off in next day. I have try to make an appointment online to refill but they don't have available until Thursday and my one eye lashes been almost gone. I am very disappointed. I got lash extensions here with Emmy and had a great experience. She's super gentle--I could barely feel anything the whole time and even started to fall asleep. She also took the time to explain that some people are allergic to the lash glue--because I get eczema around my eyes she asked me if I was sure I still wanted them done. I appreciated her concern so much and she told me what to watch out for in the case of the an allergy. The glue didn't bother my eyes at all and I loved how the lashes turn out. One thing that people should consider when getting lashes is how strong their lashes are...mine did not last very long and this is because they are pretty fine. So I definitely plan to spend some time strengthening them before getting lashes again. read more

The lady was really nice (Reena I think?) but the service was really awful. The good point is that I had a discount, but I won't come again and I felt very disturbed after this experience. I came in M&M during Martin Luther King's observed day. I think it was supposed to be closed, but as Reena saw me in front of the door, she opened to me what was really nice. I asked her for a waxing and a facial and she drove me to the other beauty salon in Durant Ave. We begun with the full leg wax. As she didn't have her spatula, she used a bread knife to spread the wax . That didn't bother me first because she was professionnal, it was not painful at all but in retrospect, it was really dangerous and weird. The waxing room was at the back of the store, next to the cashier's desk and she kept the door opened. So, when a man entered in the shop and approched the desk, I felt very inconfortable. Then, a few women entered asking for threading. So, she interrupted my wax session, letting me waiting for her 15 minutes in the cold, with wax remains on my legs, while she took care of her other customers. I put my jacket on my legs, but I could see the woman paying at the cashier and I felt very uncomfortable. She was sorry, kept explaining me that she wasn't expecting so many people and that she would offer me a discount, so she offered me free underarm waxing. After that, she did the facials, with steam. I was really disturbed because the blanket and the sheets I was lying on was dirty. And still, she kept the door opened, and during the mask, I saw girl paying at the cashier, looking at me... The facial was ok, a bit violent to my face, and I was cold and uncomfortable. But the lady was nice and offered my a free tiny eyebrow correction (I had done my eyebrows the week before). What really convinced me that I would never come back is when I returned home: 1) She didn't clean the wax properly, so when I took my pants off at home, it was horrible: wax everywhere, with the pants dust... 2) I had cream in my hair!!! From the facial!!! How is that possible?! I walked in the street with that... 3) Maybe the most disturbing point: my skin reacted VERY badly to the facials and I had rednesses and spots in my face. It is like an allergic reaction, but I have NEVER been allergic to ANY cosmetic products. So either the products are not of a good quality, or there is a hygiene problem (that could be possible given the dirt in the cabin). 4) I kept thinking about the lack of privacy and the fact that I'm pretty sure that the man saw me in panties during my wax session that really disturbs me a lot. To conclude, I was first very enthusiastic with this salon, Reena was nice to me and was really sorry about the situation that's why she offered me a free underarm and threading. She seemed over-busy with all the custumers she didn't want to refuse and that made me feel VERY uncomfortable. I am really used to wax , facials and beauty salon around the world and this is the first time I had a so bad experience. I hesitated to make this review and this is the first time I take the initiative to review a beauty salon, but I needed to do it. Indeed, even if I had a discount, (that I am thankful for), this traumatic experience didn't worth a dollar and I will now have to think twice before going to an american beauty salon. Terrible terrible. The lady (Reena) rushed doing my eyebrows and it's a mess. I had to ask her multiple times to fix it. Saturday at 5pm, I walked-in and cheerily spoke to her that I'm looking to get my eyebrows done. She said she's closed. (The signs outside says open, the website says the store closes at 6:30pm). I asked her, "could you take me as your last customer for today? I only have few unwanted hair, does not need shaping, just cleaning." She replied, "okay, sit down, I'll do it really quickly." I felt alarmed at that point. I asked her, "don't rush it though, I don't want it to get messed up." Long story short: she messed up and I had to ask her multiple times that there's this part, there's another, that she missed. I feel really upset about this that I'm not returning. This is a really poor customer service and I didn't have to be treated this way since I'm willing to pay and tip as deserved. I mean business but she provided inferior service... I also asked her to do upper lip, but "waxing" instead so that there's little chance of her messing up. Besides, if she's really in a rush, waxing is faster and she'll be done right away. We headed to the waxing room. I looked at the bed, and she tells me "what are you waiting for? you looking for something?" I replied, "Oh, I thought you're supposed to place a wax paper to cover the bed before I lay down." Surprisingly, she replied "No. I ran out of wax paper. You just lay down there. Unless maybe you want to sit outside and I can do it there for you." Well, appalled, I didn't want this waxing session to be a public spectacle in front of the other two new customers that just walked in, as well as the passing crowd outside her store! So, with much hesitation, I laid down in disgust on that bare bed. Really, really disappointing! Just when I thought I found the salon to frequent, nope! Not this one (P.S. When I asked for her name, she said she's "just in a bad mood" that's why she rushed the service, and she's hoping that I won't do a Yelp review on this. But let me get this straight. Your bad mood will pass in an hour. My eyebrow will stay like this for about a month! Your service has impact to your customers, and NO, bringing your bad mood on the job is NOT very professional). read more

Sighhhhh. Eyebrows are the last thing you want to mess with and the lady who helped me did exactly that. Such a sloppy job. I had to ask her to fix several areas more than once and she didn't even do the unibrow area until I asked her to. I'm going to have to spend time cleaning up my eyebrows now when I get home so this visit was pretty frustrating. Don't waste your time here. It's clear that they're just trying to make a quick buck off of desperate students who aren't willing to travel for quality work.
