I recently tried Moi Lash Spa and was very disappointed in their service, quality, and prices. Prior to coming to Moi, I had gotten a full volume set at a great salon in Oakland that had some remaining lashes - it lasted one month, and my lashes looked incredible at Burning Man, in the extreme heat, sweat and dust. And it was time for a refresh. Moi charged $30 for lash removal, and I came back the following day for a new hybrid set. Within 3 days, I had a bald spot on one eye and within a week, only 1/3 of the lashes applied remained. And for the first time ever, I used the foam lash cleanser and brushes they provided as part of their "after care." In total, I paid $294 for lashes that didn't even last a week. Usually, lashes of good quality that are applied properly last 2.5 weeks at a minimum! Rather than apologize for the poor product quality and service, they requested that I pay an additional $50 for a fill on the one eye that lost all its lashes. This has never happened to me in 4 years of getting lashes, and the lash tech seemed genuinely apologetic and embarrassed by the poor results. Ownership, however, insisted on trying to extract even more money. Save your money and time! These lashes won't last. $300 is not worth a 3 days of proper lash extensions. I was excited to support a local business, but I will be making the drive back to Oakland where the lash salon in my old neighborhood stands by their product, and fixes mistakes when it's the right thing to do for customers. My last set was $185 and lasted nearly a month in extreme conditions. Brow & Beauty on Grand Ave has much better service, reasonable prices, and higher quality products. read more

This was my first time trying lash extensions. I was a bit nervous about allowing the glue/chemicals to be used near my eyes and about the result looking unnatural, but Chakay put all of my concerns to rest. She is very professional, knowledgeable, and meticulous. The end result looks amazing! Not overdone at all and you can hardly tell they are fake. She also takes the time to explain how to get the most life out of the lashes and includes a little care kit with your appt of a full set for your first time. I will definitely be back and highly recommend her! Oh, also, I was running late and parked at the paid spaces in front of the business: the appointment for a full set took about 2 hours and my meter was running out and she had change handy and even took care to make sure I didn't get a ticket. First things first. When I made my appointment, the woman who called me back promptly, was friendly and expeditious. Turned out to be the owner, Renee, who ultimately did my "natural lash" lash extensions. I was nervous, I've never had extensions and I wasn't sure what to expect. I might not have even gone for it, if it wasn't for the lash emergency happening on my face! I feared my lashes might be too sparse to be saved! The moment I walked through the door, I had a good feeling. The music was calming, but not in a cloying way. The space is visually pleasing and spotless. I am one to notice any little thing regarding cleanliness. That kind of attention to detail boosts ones confidence immediately. Renee did my lashes. I won't go on and on as to the excellence of the service. I will just hit the high points. Renee is clearly very experienced. The best there is, my lashes always look natural. She is extremely into lash care. If your lashes aren't strong enough to sustain a super long lash, she won't do it. I had a reaction to the adhesive and Renaye told me if I kept having the reaction she would no longer put lashes on me!!!! She shopped around until she found one that worked for me.
