This is the first time I have ever done anything like this, but I had been longing to do it for over five years. The salon is gorgeous! Very clean, elegant, and professional! Top notch, service! Mica is amazing!! She did exactly what I requested for my daughters quinceanera. I have seen over make-uped 15 year olds looking 21 or 25 and that is NOT what I wanted at all. Knowing makeup has to last the day and look amazing in photos, my one request was keep her looking 15. And that is exactly what she did. Everything was great in working with Mica. From booking to payment to confirmations. On time and brought every single thing she needed. I was amazed and really impressed. You can do in studio but she does come to you, for a fee, which is completely affordable and worth it. She did makeup for 3 of us. So i lost half of my eyebrows during a snowboarding trip - i have NO idea why! It was in Vermont and I've tried many different things but it just doesn't grow back... Got my make up done with Navita she listen to what I want and did a really good job on my make up. Beside the lips everything stay on since 1 pm - 10 pm. I've been going to Mea Beauty for eyebrow microblading for two years now, and Mica is the best. Very sweet and friendly. I felt bad asking for a touch-up when the color didn't take initially on my type of skin, and she's being really nice and accommodating about scheduling me for another followup. As an additional plus, I felt the office location was sufficiently COVID-safe, and we both kept masks on during the procedure. Tip: if you don't like the scratching sound against your skin, then bring headphones and zone out listening to your music or a podcast. I'm writing this review partly to simply release the frustration and disappointment I've been carrying for the last two years. I had my bridal makeup done with Mica and absolutely without a doubt HATED how it turned out. It's been just over two years and I lowkey still think about it all the time. Any pictures I see of myself up close I can't stand. And I actually cringe thinking that's how I walked around that whole night celebrating such a big and momentous event. It was largely my fault for not doing a makeup trial run. I own that. My frustration was around how I didn't feel taken care of. I showed her a picture of what I wanted and didn't get anything close. She didn't even ask what lip color I wanted -- just hit me with a dark purple. I looked like a ghost, the contour was all off. I could go on. I didn't express my frustration or disappointment largely because I had to get to my wedding! My ladies had already gotten their makeup done first (don't know how we booked it like that!) and I was left alone to finish up my makeup after doing my hair and immediately had to go to get to photos. I was waiting a while for her to finish with the ladies in my party before me, so my appt didn't start on time, and ran late. Moral of the story: GET THE TRIAL, and SPEAK UP FOR YOURSELF! Don't expect to be taken care of or largely consulted on details of your look, especially if you didn't get the trial. Will forever cringe when I think of my wedding now. SMH. Edit to reply // Mica, I was booked through Modena and never even signed a bridal contract with you. Didn't even know that was an option...likely our first issue. I have an email breakdown of all our appts that day (3/30/19), hair and makeup + prices. Not only does she give me an awesome set of lashes each time, but she has also become a wonderful friend that I enjoying meeting with each month during my fill. I felt like I was floating in the clouds. In fact, I was able to take a nap. Your legs are elevated, and upon request, you can get a blanket. She also waxed my eyebrows. Usually, I get super red after a waxing session, but not this time. Her appointment booking online is user friendly and easy to navigate. She is located inside Modela Salon in the back up the stairs. FYI, use the 2-hr parking by the salon. First time eyelash extension is 90 minutes. If you don't already know, parking patrol in Berkeley is on point. Mica is an amazing esthetician as she is a person. She is very meticulous and you can tell from her work. I got eyelash extensions from her and she's by far the best person I've ever had do my lash extensions!!! As an asian with slightly hooded eyes she accentuated my eyes and the lashes didn't look droopy at all, like they would when other people would apply.
