I had high expectations for waxing lady Stacy. 2 my employees recommend her. She is nice but ayi she's rough. I think because she talking about politic when she's waxing. First time coming to glam and glow after finding them on yelp. And i can honestly say it was a great decision! Stacey is great! as she worked, we talked and you could not tell it was our first time meeting. Far from awkward or anything. She definitely takes her time and is detail oriented. Being new to the area, she talked about so many things to try out and is very open! Love how open she is and the fact that we kept a conversation the entire time- even up to me walking out the door. She provided numbing spray for your lady parts that could be useful (it's been so long since my last wax that my hair grew long so it really didn't work for me) for other. This is a review for Stacie. Wow! What a great experience. She treated me like a Queen. I came in for a Brazilian wax and facial. We started with the wax first and Stacie was completely honest with me - the hair was pretty short and she could tell I was in the middle of a growth cycle. Stacie told me if she waxed today, I would see new growth really quickly and she encouraged me to re-schedule so I would really get my money's worth. That REALLY impressed me. She's not after my money, she wants loyalty, she wants me to come back. And I will! Then we went on to the facial. I brought all of the products I use at home with me - which she LOVED - so that she could customize the facial. And she let me know which products were working against me - a too rich moisturizer and a toner full of unnecessary ingredients. So I will ditch those. During the facial she paid close attention to me, making sure I was always comfortable. If my skin was reacting negatively to something she immediately wiped it off and tried something else. She put more pillows under my knees when she noticed I was shifting around a lot because my lower back was starting to hurt. I felt so well cared for. Normally, when I go to other places for facials, including really ritzy spas, they always push a lot of products, insisting that I buy them, and they never offer samples. Stacie OFFERED me three free samples of products she formulated just for my skin. I really appreciated that, she was not pushing me to spend my money. She definitely built goodwill with me. She just wanted me to have a wonderful experience, which I did. I booked a follow-up appointment for another facial next month and I will be getting waxed in less than a week. I feel extremely confident that Stacie will do a wonderful job at waxing as well. read more

Stacie uses hard and soft wax... I go for soft on the outside... I'm a wuss... And hard wax on the rest. She offers numbing spray, but she is so engaging that you will forget you are having hair ripped out! Prices are extremely reasonable, but she's so talented at her craft that I never look at my bill anymore. Product pushing you ask? Never! Let me get this straight, I only give credit when credit is due. This review is not for any type of services they have that I personally experienced (yet. that would be later). It is a review of first impression. I gave them a call this morning to get some info about their facials available for men (for the hubby) and for myself. No one picked up, I left a message. After about ten minutes, Stacy called back. I was in the middle of something and was not able to get the call. She left a very WARM FRIENDLY message. Anyway, I called back. This is where the 5 star rating comes in.....we talked for about 10-15 minutes. I was throwing in questions after questions after questions. Stacy answered every single thing without sounding annoyed or getting a "we-have-to-make-this-fast-I-need-to-hang-up" vibe from her. I felt like I had a consultation over the PHONE. I thanked her for her time and told her. "I feel like we are BFFs already!" She agreed. I am looking forward to meeting her and I definitely cannot wait to start my beauty regime with Stacy. So I was really scared about getting my Brazilian wax. I thought it was going to be uncomfortable, and just weird. But Stacey deff knew wat she was doing. Came here for my first brazillian wax and it was the best experience ever. I really thought it was going to be worse than I expected but it wasn't even that bad after all! I was given lidocaine spray before I laid down and was told to take some ibuprofen 20 mins before I came in. I thought it would he awkward laying there with no panties but Stacy and I talked the entire time like we knew each other forever. I felt very comfortable and now I regret every other time I chickened out to get waxed before. This is definitely my go ! I was surprised to find such a high quality salon here in El Sob. Me and my mom have had various waxings and skin consultations here. They use hard wax (which is always a + for me), are fast and competent and have very comfortable spa style chairs so even the cheapest eyebrow wax feels like a nice spa experience. And the price is right, same as a comparable salon or the Benefit counter would charge. Best part of all is feeling like people actually care about you and are curious what is going on with your skin. Haven't dived in for a facial yet, but will definitely go here when I do. It seems like they are still starting out so getting an appointment is really easy. Probably not great for them, but good for those who are used to having to squeeze in elsewhere. read more

Honestly, the business owner was very kind, welcoming us and she was very detailed with her work, but the pictures she has on here are a bit old. When I went to the location, it looked nothing like the pictures, instead, it was a bit hard to find, and when we got to the location, there was no one and it was a bit dark, so I found that to be a little disturbing. I asked for a microdermabrasion and the service was ok to me. The one she had was not diamond tipped, it was an equipment that was a bit older, but I was not bothered by it because it still did the job. Now her facial, it was not as exciting as the other reviewers made it seem. She was very careful, she did explain everything before she applied anything to my skin and asked what routines I follow on a daily basis, however for $120, I didn't think that the services were as satisfying. I do want to thank her for her services for that day, but I don't think I'd come back for her facials. Maybe I'll try her other services to see if my interests can be redeemed to her business, but until then, I'll keep everyone updated. Thank you read more

This place is a life saver! Who would have thought that such a nice civilized place would pop up in little old El Sobrante? I use their waxing services, and having been waxed by many other salons I can say with some authority that these girls know what they're doing. They have great technique (I know this sounds weird, but it makes a huge difference) and they use really nice products that don't tear off the top layer of your skin, like cheaper waxes do. Never in a million years would I ever considering getting a waxing. Much less, a Mazilian wax. She was extremely gentle, moreover very professional. She didn't mishandle or throw my junk all over the place. It always remained covered. I was new to waxing my lower regions so based on the positive reviews here, I decided to give up my waxing virginity to G&G. They did not disappoint! Stacie is the woman. She made me feel relaxed and comfortable with her warm, upbeat personality and sense of humor. She has such a good bed-side manner that I practically forget what's going on below the waist. What's more is that although she has many clients, Stacie manages to remember me every time I call to make an appointment. When I first walked in the first thing I noticed was this place smelled fabulous!! It was a small but yet very cozy kind of place. I was greeted by the owner whom was very nice and friendly and took me back to the room where I can change and get my waxing done. She also offered a numbing spray to spray on before I started my Brazilian wax which I thought is very considerate to customers! Not a lot of places offer that. As she was doing my waxing she seemed like she knew what she was doing and was very gentle on pulling the wax. I hardly felt anything and didn't hurt at all. We talked through out the whole session as it made it go by so much faster and it didn't just have that awkward silence while she was waxing me. She also told me the difference between the hard wax and soft wax with the strips and which worked best with my skin (very informational). As I was all done and met her in the front she only charged me the prices for a touch up of my brows and my Brazilian wax instead of the full price which is the best way to make me keep coming back!!! Before I left she even put a cream with SPF on my eyes because it was hot out. Overall I will be coming back to this place a lot more!!!! She knew what she was doing and what she was talking about and didn't try to cheat me on paying more. Very honest! For my first time coming here it definitely will not be my last! And for me, anyway, it was sort of a long process, so I was so thrilled for this. I've been to 2 other places for waxing over the years and I tried Glam and Glow today based on the Yelp reviews - it was fantastic. The place is decorated nice and relaxing. They greeted my by name, even though I had never been there before (I had called and made an appt.) They called the day before to remind me of my appt - fabulous! The waxing went very smoothly - I hadn't had one for 2+ years, and she used a great wax. They even supply a spray on numbing agent and then a tea tree oil to help with clean up.
