Is it possible to have a bad massage? Probably not. While I enjoyed my massage here, it was not deep tissue (which is charged $20 more). More like Swedish. The therapist was nice and we had an interesting conversation, but midway through my massage she had to leave for some reason (not sure why). read more

The customer service I received from Rhianna when booking my appointment was top notch! I enjoyed the atmosphere of the spa and my massage with Barbara was relaxing! I would not classify the massage as deep tissue as requested, it was more of a Swedish massage. Enjoyable nonetheless! I would definitely come back to try the other services and offerings from the estheticians, Ayurvedic specialists and masseuses. I also would be interested to try the acupuncture! Wow. This far exceeded my expectations! I had a lovely facial with Sig-Britt. She has such a wonderful and sweet demeanor and is so knowledgeable about skin care. I mentioned that I prefer cruelty free products and they actually have many of those, which was a huge plus. The service from everyone at the spa was really amazing. I booked a full body deep tissue with Sundi. Sundi was really nice and did a good job with making me feel comfortable, relaxed and checking in on the pressure shortly after beginning my massage. This was a Christmas gift for me from my wife. I waited for a day when my body begged me to be nice to it. Today was that day. Located on Solano Ave just a block up from Safeway, it was easily located. Outside it was clean and inviting and inside even better. In the lobby the first thing I liked was the wonderful aroma from all the soaps and skin care products made with natural ingredients. I lived in Provence and lavender happily welcomed me. There was a very nice lady at the front desk checking in everyone arriving with a smile. From what I observed there was a pleasant exchange between the employees. I immediately felt welcomed and relaxed. Sharon was my therapist. She asked great questions about what I expected and led me to my therapy room. All rooms were ultra clean and ready for the customers. The restroom was immaculate. I chose a Swedish relaxation style for my massage. I have had them for years so I know what to expect. Sharon was engaging and gave me a perfect massage. I would definitely ask for her again. When I came out, my endorphins were raring ... I had that special buzz. Plenty of water waiting. My wife and I compared notes. We shared similar wonderful experiences. It is going to be our go too in the future. It nice to see a happy team working together. Excellent! Just had a pre-natal massage with Sundi and it was so relaxing and much needed for the aches and cramps I've been feeling in my 2nd trimester. This was my first pre-natal massage, so instead of laying my back, I laid on my side with pillows in front of me, so it felt like I was snuggling the pillows. Once I got in the right position, it was very comfortable and Sundi was still able to massage my back, legs and legs. What I liked most is Sundi's touch - not to hard but a nice firmness to get the knots out. I'll definitely return a few more times as my pregnancy progresses! read more

A hidden gem. From the outside it's hard to tell as you could easily just walk by without noticing, but they have really top notch services, products and expertise. Love that they carry very high end products but also things that are more local and hard to find. Anh is one of my favorite acupuncturists because her treatments go deep, and I love the moxa she uses to deepen at the needle points, warm my body and get the blood flowing. Her treatments always give me both physical and emotional release and healing immediately, and Chinese medicine provides me with the holistic care I really need. Anh takes great care to listen to what's going on in my life, and always knows the right points to hit to help me feel better! I love this spa. It's a lovely little oasis on the bustling Solano Avenue. It's a woman-owned day spa with multiple services which I fully intend to enjoy one of these days, but so far I've only come for lash/brow tinting with Natalie who is AMAZING. She makes my invisible-blond eyebrows look great (color and even shape). I was initially hesitant since having chemicals immediately next to my eyes is scary, but she's so professional and I've had zero issues or concerns. I plan to go back for a facial with Natalie and a massage with one of the other practitioners. I am so thankful I found this gem in North Berkeley. Because I had accumulated many SpaFinder gift cards over the years, I decided to treat myself to a full spa day. I booked a 20 minute steam, a 60 minute facial with Natalie and a 90 minute hot stone massage with Jason. I have a new life goal: own a walk-in shower that also serves as a steam room. You get the whole bathroom to yourself and the steam is a really lovely way to start the day. This spa uses Eminence and Cosmedix products for their facials and Natalie is a pro. She really took the time to look at me skin, ask me what I felt my needs were, and offer recommendations. I've had a few facials in my life and this one was by far the best; my skin was glowing when I left. The 90 minute massage was less relaxing and more therapeutic which is exactly what I needed. Jason really targeted my trouble areas, applied deep and firm pressure, and broke up many knots in my upper back. He checked in with me frequently regarding the pressure and had great communication. In-between my treatments, the staff went above and beyond as the receptionist willingly grabbed me a juice from across the street. We had a brief introduction before I drifted off in a cloud of lavender. I relaxed as I inhaled the scent of a forest after the rain. And, finally, I opened my eyes to the scent of a freshly cut orange. In between was the magic of a great massage. It is clear that Susannah's calling is the healing arts. Her skill with aromatherapy was a balm that accompanied my Swedish massage. The ambience of Sundhari and Susannah's quiet explanations of how each of the aromas affected a different chakra grounded me and helped to clear my mind as well as release stress. I had back and shoulder pain that I'd been living with for a year, which made her job even more challenging. But she listened empathetically and responded with just the perfect pressure. She kept the bed warmer on at a temperature of my choosing. Near the end of my 60-minute massage, she massaged each of my feet with hot towels, then wrapped another around my neck like a cradle for my head, which she gently rocked to release my muscles even further. After my massage, I felt calmer, soothed, pampered, and the world seemed friendlier. Frankly, not a thing was missing to make this the perfect massage. The 90-minute massage was heaven but the facial in particular really surprised me- my skin was definitely improved afterwards and it was extremely relaxing. In short: The practitioners both for massage (Susan) and facial (Holly) were 5 stars. The Facility was 2 Stars. Receptionist 2 Stars. Steam "Room" 2 Star The massage and facial were wonderful. Susan and Holly were just lovely people. Unfortunately the reception and facility didn't match their caliber. The Steam "Room" is really a Steam Shower in their bathroom. If I had paid for it, I'd be actually upset. There was hair in the drain to start. But in the shower there's just a little bench to sit on with a bar in your back. Can't lay down. Can't really get comfortable. Can't call it a steam room when it's a steam shower in their bathroom. The Receptionist couldn't remember when my services were. She also didn't seem to know how to check us out, even though I asked her after the services."Hey are we good?" And then she charged us for the Steam "Room" when it was supposed to be free because we each had two services. Not a big deal but it was clear she didnt know what she was doing and was distracted or something. As I'm moving in between my services in my rob, the hallway door is open which puts you in plain few of the street so anyone in the lobby or walking by the glass storefront can see you. During my facial, an alarm/timer of some kind was going off in the lobby/reception for like 10minutes. Not awesome. Where was the receptionist? Upon entry, they gave us Marshalls branded reusable shopping bags to put our clothes in. Whhhaaaa???? Not exactly on brand or vibe with a Spa (with these prices). Last of all, and this I admit is more of just a design aesthetic, the lobby is overcrowded with products. Its overwhelming. Less is more. All in all, I'd say management needs to have a think about what they are offering and providing and HOW they are coming across. Its all about the fine details for places like this. Again, Susan and Holly were LOVELY and I'd totally go to each of them again, but not here. read more

The first time I met Sundi I instantly felt at ease and was very comfortable. I have gotten a lot of massages in my life and it is a rarity that I feel comfortable right away. Sundi's massages are AMAZING; it is as if she look inside my body and know where my problem areas are. She uses her hands and intuition to know how hard or soft each of my body parts needs. I received a Hydrating Facial from Natalie a few days ago and it was such a magical experience. It was so relaxing that I almost fell asleep! Natalie is very experienced and friendly. This was my first time getting a facial and she was extremely gentle and answered every single one of my questions. We discussed my face care routine moving forward, she offered samples and recommended products for my skin type. After my appointment, I could feel my skin breathing again. It is now day three since my facial and my skin is dewy, clear, and moisturized. My blemishes are practically gone, my pores shrunk, and my nose piercing scar is barely visible. I am so happy I found Sundhari! I came in last week to treat myself to a facial and a massage for my birthday. I found this place because they use Eminence Organics skin care in their treatments, which is one of my favorite brands. I had a 75 minute facial with Natalie that was heavenly. She gave me one of the best facial massages I've ever had -- I almost fell asleep. When she was finished my skin was literally glowing and it's felt so soft and hydrated for days. Afterward I had a 90 minute massage with Catherine that was just as blissful. She was communicative throughout the massage to see how I was feeling and applied the perfect amount of pressure. I almost fell asleep once again. I left my treatment feeling so relaxed it was like I was on another planet. On top of both therapists being amazing at their jobs and having such kind and soothing presences, the front desk concierge Keiki was also so sweet and helpful. They offered me tea and water and had a nice quiet room for me to relax in between treatments. The whole atmosphere of the spa is clean, bright, airy, and tranquil. She is such a skilled, nurturing, open-hearted therapist with incredibly healing energy. I had some serious knots and scar tissue issues that she worked through, without an ounce of discomfort. She has literally kept me in a state of being able to enjoy my pregnancy which has came with many aches and pains this round.
