I've been going to Peggy L. for about 2 years now. I struggle with cystic acne and oily skin. I am very picky when it comes to my skin because as a melanated girl, I have to be mindful. I have to say she is wonderful, attentive and overall a kind lady. The atmosphere is very relaxing and calming. My skin has been doing very well since I've been to her. Although I moved out of state, whenever I come back it is a must I go in to see her. I've seen a significant difference in my skin these past 2 years. I 10/10 recommend! read more

Peggy Lee Skin Care 服务非常棒，Peggy 人也非常好！ I am really sad to hear Peggy is retiring. She has been taking great care of my skin for so long, and I'm honestly going to miss her so much. Thank you for everything, Peggy -- wishing you a wonderful retirement! read more

I like Peggy. She's a nice person. However the cot she uses for some of her treatments is very uncomfortable. There appears to be a more comfortable bed that she uses but not for every treatment. I came in for a facial with extractions which is one of her more basic treatments. I hurt my ankle climbing onto her small cot because my foot made contact with the heavy metal frame (big bruises on my ankle after impact on metal frame). There's several blankets but no mattress pad on a hard metal frame and the blankets were lumpy and uncomfortable to lay on top. She should put a thick pad on top of the metal cot so people don't get hurt like I did. Be careful if you have to use her small cot or request to use her more professional bed which she has on display next to this uncomfortable and dangerous hard cot. I have never seen anyone use this kind of cheap and unsafe set-up for a facial bed. Sad. The treatment itself was 50 minutes and involved a lot of hot towels, steaming and chemicals. Since I use tretinon which is a prescription strength retinol, my skin is very sensitive. Everything Peggy put on my skin including aloe vera burnt. The experience was unpleasant. Peggy herself was coughing a lot in the beginning of the treatment. The prices have increased a little bit from the website. Peggy gave me the website price after I pointed it out and I tipped her too. Update: I told Peggy that I wanted one particular milia extracted and this morning I noticed that it was not completely gone. Very disappointed, especially after her cot hurt my ankle. read more

Peggy has been my esthetician for over 5yrs & will continue to be my esthetician since I don't trust anyone else caring for my face! She's always focused & mindful of my needs! I always leave feeling rejuvenated & looking forward to seeing her next! Peggy is a vital part of my self care! She's a blessing to know! read more

I've been a regular here for many years. My go to treatment is the Herbsl Green Peel Fresh Up. It seems to remove a layer of dead skin, smooth out my wrinkles, and make my skin glow. People often think I'm about 10 years younger than I really am and on a good day, 20 years younger. :) The vibe is relaxing. The studio is quiet. After my treatment, I often get coffee, pizza or an ice cream in the nice neighborhood. read more

I love Peggy Lee. I just started with her services two months ago, and now I'm a regular. I've been to a lot of estheticians and the facials I get from Ms Lee are better than the ones I was paying 3x as much for a few years back - and i don't have to drive 40 minutes to get there! She's conveniently located and so far I haven't even had a problem parking. I highly recommend. read more

Peggy was accommodating even before we met- responding quickly to my Yelp query and offering an upcoming appointment that I really needed before a trip- though I'd given her very short notice. The studio was very clean and comfortable, conveniently located on Solano Ave in Berkeley. Peggy was very thorough with her screening to be sure everything she did was safe and comfortable for my needs and skin. She then reviewed everything she would do for the facial I had booked. I needed extractions for under the skin breakouts, which she did while explaining how they came about and how to help them from recurring. I looked better the next day even after these, she was gentle and skilled, witha lovely manner and highly experienced. I enthusiastically recommend her and I'm planning to return regularly. This is a place to go for results, not a spa day. Also Peggy's prices were significantly better than all the local competitors. I'll up to this review to five stars if my next visit is as great as the first! read more

5 stars for Peggy Lee!! I have been going to her for about a year and she gives such great service. She asked me questions to figure out what my lifestyle is like and what my needs were and then tailored her treatment accordingly. Since I'm outside a lot she always offers to put on sunscreen during the appointment. Not only is it a face skin treatment but for me it's a face massage as well. It's so relaxing and restorative, especially with the spa music. Also, her space is so clean and well laid out and in such a great location. I'm so glad my wife and our friend recommended her to me :) read more

Reached out to schedule a facial. I received a response a day later. Was able to fit me in the same week. I appreciated the quick turn around. My face started peeling after the facial though. Not sure if that was supposed to happen. I would go back, but not sure I would get the eye patches as an add on since I didn't see much of a difference. read more

I was not happy with the skin on my face. Peggy knew EXACTLY what was wrong. She helped me choose a facial. She educated me on what/what not to use on my face. She was extremely pleasant. The atmosphere during my facial was very RELAXING. She was gentle, intelligent, kind, soothing. My face looks SO MUCH BETTER. I wouldn't go to anyone but Peggy. She is licensed and very knowledgeable! I'm hoping more in our community will support her and her business. Great job all the way around! read more

Peggy Lee Skin Care - My skin was very dry. This is my next day pic...today my skin looks and feels HYDRATED. - Skin Care Near Me - Berkeley, California

Peggy is just wonderful . I took my mom for a facial here. I have myself been here few times before. I must say Peggy did an excellent job accessing my moms skin concern and recommended her a European facial. My mom has dry skin and she has never like any facial as much as this one. She was very happy with Peggy's work and I highly recommend this place. Besides that, although the place is located is a small busy plaza area, once you step inside the place , it's very serene , calm and has a relaxing atmosphere. We even ended up buying facial products from here. read more

I am early forties and have been getting monthly facials with Peggy Lee for more than a year. I highly recommend her services. She is very flexible in scheduling, she's got a variety of services (I started off with a hydrating facial and have recently upgraded to the luxe lift facial) and the new location is excellent (a calm and quiet space above Solano). I always come away feeling relaxed and glowy and feel that I am finally on the right track with my maturing skin. I was very happy with the hydrating facial as there's so many steps involved which makes it feel like the pinnacle of pampering. But I'm starting to take a more proactive approach to my naturally aging and hence shifted to the luxe lift facial. Even during an allergic flare up - I was uncertain if I should keep my appt for fear of irritating my skin worse and she was able to pivot to a gentler facial that kept me hydrated and with no further agitation. She is awesome! read more

I've been going to Vivian's skin care for more than a year now. When I came in first, Peggy (the owner of Vivian's skin care, Vivian herself has retired a while ago) was very patient and suggested a maintenance plan that is achievable. I've never done continuous facial care for myself before but she didn't guilt me. She did give suggestions on a few products and why one'd need them. I don't find her pushy about them at all. I've noticed improvement on my skin and my pores in general. I also appreciate the reminder before the appointment that's sent out everytime. read more

I have been going to Peggy for a couple of years now and she is wonderful. She gave me great advice after my first appointment with her, helping me to treat my skin so much better than ever before. The treatment itself is incredibly relaxing and I come out on cloud nine every time. Her treatment space was always immaculate, clean and well set up, but her new space on Solano Ave is a terrific upgrade! So much care and attention has gone in to making clients feel comfortable and serene -- reflecting the same attention and care Peggy puts into her work. read more

I treat myself to facials only every so often, usually around my birthday. As I get older, I do realize the importance of getting them done more frequently and was very happy to have met Peggy and work with her for the first time this year! I loved the calming atmosphere and individualized attention of her salon, as well as the fact that she explained each step of my facial to me. My skin was left so smooth and radiant that I couldn't stop touching it after. I also felt very reassured and safe with her covid operations, especially as other institutions have become much more lax with the downward trend of positive cases (I'm one of those people who is still being as careful as possible even though I'm fully vaxxed and boostered). I will be sure to book with Peggy more regularly as she provided me with one of the best and affordable facials I have ever gotten over the years. The fact that she is a well-established and long-standing local business speaks much of her amazing services. read more

I have been doing facial extraction with Peggy since 2017 and very satisfied with her services. Her place is quite and chill. She is very gentle, friendly, and responsive. She checked my skin carefully, and suggested me suitable products for my skin type. My face skin has been getting much better since. I then had her treated the back acne problem that I had discomforted me for long time. After only thee visits, the problem solved. Yayyy! I would highly recommend you to check her place out if you're dealing with acne issues read more

I have been going to Peggy for years ,but this is the first time getting green peels fresh up facial. It is not as rough as I thought it would be , but I think it depends on the person. The downtime is not as bad. There are some peeling ,flasks, and dryness. So make sure to buy good moisturizer. It takes about 5 - 7 days for those symptoms to go away , but it is totally worth it!!!! It makes my skin look healthier and shinny like a diamond read more

Peggy Lee is amazing!! I wanted to do something special for me and my mom for an early self care birthday present and opted to get facials. Peggy Lee fit us into her schedule last minute and did a phenomenal job treating us well, going over our skin regimen, and making us feel cared for. My face felt so smooth and clean and even when she deep cleaned my pores with the tools (ouchie~ lol), my face never peeled days after my treatment (ifykyk!) I highly recommend her business. I've already got my next appointment booked and ordered her retinol serum to help with some skin issues. Thanks again, Peggy Lee! read more

I've been going to Peggy for almost 2 years now. She is awesome! I've tried most of the facials she offers; they are all fantastic! My skin always looks amazing after getting a facial here! Her energy is so great and relaxing; I have even fallen asleep while getting my facial! You need to go see her, take an hour to relax and let her help you reveal a beautiful skin! I have also purchased a few of the products she has for sale from the brand Sothys; very good stuff!! read more

I have been a client of Peggy since 2021 and her work and services are excellent! I started with deep cleansing facial (or maybe micro dermabrasion ) but this only lasted maybe 3 or 5 or 6 mos and I switched/upgraded to Green Peel Mela White-Bright (after my sister tried it, she goes to her too whenever she can) , yes more expensive but more favorable result. I go every 4 weeks, and since I started this treatment almost 3 years now, my breakouts have gone from 1 or 2 to zero to this date. My face is clearer, and lighter, no noticeable wrinkles (probably only when I smile too much that you see some lines around when you look closer), what I love most is my face is softer I would say and friends have noticed even skin tone and younger looking me (i'm 51yo). When I started this treatment, I did experience peeling and redness in the next 2 days and would last till day 3 after visit to 5 to 6 days (so total of 4 days or so) but after that it is gone and you will notice a clearer face. Because I have been doing this for quite a long time now, I dont have anymore peeling or redness, when I do get it (sometimes (or occasionally) only last 2 days on top and very light, not as red and peeling as the first few months. I highly recommend this treatment and make it your maintenance /routine every month, I guarantee you will see a satisfying result eventually. Peggy works very gentle on your skin as you may feel some uneasiness(or perhaps light pressure) at first (meaning its not like cleanser smooth feeling, its like scrubbing, if you have experience 1st time body scrub, its similar to that) but overtime it will be normal feeling of scrubbing with no pressure feeling, its relaxing. She is also not a sales person type which I love, not pushy to buy her beauty products, unless she really thinks you needed it to facilitate a more favorable result, even that, she does not put pressure. As for pricing, hers is competitive, so its the experience and the technique that I say you would go for and she has that ( I have gone through one facial lady (for few months and discontinued, before that with another facial lady for a very long time but she retired during lockdown covid period) and stayed with Peggy to this date for obvious reasons :). Overall, I strongly recommend her and this treatment for your facial service. read more

I have been getting monthly facials here for a year now and realized I had never written a review about how much I love Vivian's Skin Care. I look forward to my facial all month! I had never gotten a facial before coming here and really appreciated how easy it was to book an appointment via text. At my first appointment, Peggy assessed my skin, told me about my skin type, and shared what I could focus on. She has never tried to sell products, but was helpful in making a recommendation when asked. I appreciate the text reminders for upcoming appointments. I also appreciate how flexible she is. I have had a few random skin issues flare up on weeks when I have a facial scheduled and she has always been willing to push my appointment a few weeks to let my skin calm down before going in. I love the calming atmosphere and each step of the facial! I always leave with glowing skin and never have any redness or irritation after a facial. I also feel that it is very reasonably priced, which makes monthly visits possible. As long as I am living in the area, I plan to keep coming here! I highly recommend. read more

Vivian did a thorough cleansing and lightening facial for me. It was extraction to a minimum and relaxing for the remainder of the session. I was dozing on and off, which was a good sign of calmness gradually overtime. I would recommend some soothing music in the background. It would add to the ambiance. Fairly priced facials, but I wish there was more variety to the facial packages or promotional deals going on. That's when I would make the purchase. Otherwise, it's hard to promise that I will return. Facials have to be done monthly for significant improvement and I dislike how I blemish a day after. It takes a whole day for my face to tone down. I need to start making this as a priority. This is a convenient and guaranteed good spot for facials. They just need to upgrade their specials to draw clients in on committing and continuous to return, like me! read more

P really knows how to give a thorough facial. Great extraction and peel. The room inside in which it's given has the thinnest walls, though. I think my star deduction comes solely from factors that do affect and influence a good experience, but that have nothing to do at all with the actual skin treatment. I could hear boxes moving in the store next door ( annoying ), and almost the entire hour there, I could hear cars whizzing by. I for one can't do that--- pay for a relaxing facial nf feel anything but relaxed. I'm sorry, but I won't be a return customer . read more

I really enjoy my Vivian's Skin Care monthly facials. Not only is she a fabulous skin professional, attending seminars/world class skin conferences, She's super flexible, I've been sick, kids have been sick last minute cancellations. She's very kind. Can't wait to see her soon. read more

I was in search for a new esthetician when I discovered Vivian's Skin Care on Yelp. After reading all the positive reviews, I decided to give this place a try and booked an appointment via text. And am really glad to say that I have found my new esthetician. Upon arrival I filled out a couple forms and answered some questions about my skin. Based on the initial analysis of my skin, I got a custom facial which I would describe as gentle but impactful. My skin looked unbelievably clean and radiant the day after which felt amazing. I am really really happy with the results. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking to get a good facial. read more

I'm not one to pamper myself. Actually I'm not one to actually take care of myself, so I was a bit nervous when I decided to get a facial. Do guys really do this? And if not, then why not? Come down to Vivian's right away! You really don't know what you're missing. Peggy, the new owner, was well aware of my initial concerns. Just from our conversation, she made me feel comfortable even before we started. So I let her choose what treatment was best for my skin. When we got started, OH...MY...GAWD! She was ever so gentle. As she worked on me, she made sure I was still comfortable. Then the steam on my face came. Felt like heaven. Her massage to my face was so relaxing that I actually fell asleep. I hope she didn't hear me snore! Peggy gives you her undivided attention because she is the only one doing this in her shop, and you are her only appointment for that time block. You never will have to worry if her focus is elsewhere. She's wholeheartedly focused on taking care of you, and only you. In the end, my face was in heaven. Wow Peggy, you made my first time an unforgettable experience! Thank you! read more

Booked a last minute appointment with Peggy for my first facial and wasn't sure what to expect but thought I would go in for the AHA facial. When I first got there, door was locked and I thought it was closed. But after a few minutes, Peggy unlocked the door for me, introduced herself and gave me some forms to fill out. After I was ready, she asked me some questions and led me into the room. She told me that she thought the acne facial would be better considering my concerns. She was very solicitous and friendly, checking periodically to make sure I was handling it okay. She gave me some great advice about a skin care regiment that I could follow, I'm a very simple face wash and lotion kind of gal. She was great for a newbie like me and if I'm in the area I would definitely go back! read more

As a Man in his 50's usually doesn't like to go in regularly to a Skin Care Salon. But Peggy from Vivian's Skin Care really made me change the whole perspective of Skin Care business ! The 2 reason I go in to see Peggy is the Microdermabrasion and the Anti Aging LED Light Therapy. That alone can boost Collagen feeling like the skin plump ! All because I do have some pigmentation and scaring. Even after the 1st treatment the skin feels super soft and moist ! Peggy is out of this World when it comes to Skin Care ! This is an absolute hidden gem in the east bay! Don't be deceived by the location or low key sign. Peggy gave me a top dollar facial, complete with extractions and advice in a super clean, welcoming salon. Not once did I ever feel pressured to purchase anything. She asked what I am using because it is blocking my pores, but never offered her products. Upon leaving, I actually felt guilty that I had paid so little for the amazing 1 hour facial. ($40 on amazon local). This place is well worth the trek there, the el cerrito Bart is also close by. I've paid $100+ for facials at spas and had to pay extra for extractions, Peggy gave it all to me and I never had to ask! They really are about serving the customer, which is refreshing. It's too bad they don't have a website. When I got there, they have so much more to offer, microdermabrasion, massage, etc. will certainly be getting my facials here from now on! read more

This review is actually for my waxing job with Inta. I have yet to get a facial here (new customer, and new to area), but really appreciated the great job Inta did. I was getting a delicate (ahem) area groomed, and she really helped ease the pain with breathing suggestions, hand holding, and willingness to take a break when I needed it. She talked me through everything, wasn't the least bit awkward, and did a very thorough job (despite the fact my hair wasn't quite long enough...she even took time to tweeze everything left at the end). It was a bit pricey for me, but for the times of year I need to get a full wax job for down yonder, I know who I'll come to. read more

I have been using the facial service once a month. Recently, the previous owner, Vivian, has retired. Peggy became the owner and the head esthetician. She is gentle and will work with you to provide an effective service.
