Amanda was absolutely fantastic! I have never done anything to my eyebrows and felt a little nervous but she immediately put me at ease. She walked me through her process and what she recommended before starting so she could understand what I wanted to achieve. read more

It's often unclear what will make me feel at home in my body. I was raised and socialized without anyone showing me how to sculpt and maintain my face in ways I'd like. When I began experimenting with different methods of self care and expression, a close friend who works in the same neighborhood as POE recommended them. When I nervously walked in for my first appointment, I felt immediately welcome. A large visible global inclusive pride flag hangs from the ceiling in the middle of the salon. The staff didn't flinch at my never-plucked brows or my not-yet-perfected skincare routines. They assured me they wouldn't overdo it and make me look like the girls in my high school classes with arches that made them appear perpetually surprised. They wouldn't try to make me look like someone else. They'd just shape my brows to look clean, neat, and compliment my face. Once it was done, I immediately felt better about my appearance. Even before the pinkness wore off on my freshly waxed skin, I was so happy. I immediately set up another appointment. Now I go every 4-6 weeks and get eyelash tinting too. I highly recommend the trio for anyone who wants to feel pretty when they wake up in the morning without having to apply makeup everyday. These little touches really help me love who I see in the mirror. read more

Danielle did my eyebrow tint/lamination and lash tint/lift and she was amazing! She did such a fantastic job, I am in love with it. It was my first time getting these services and Danielle made me feel totally comfortable. She was also super fun to chat with which made the appointment fly by. I would definitely recommend her. The location in Berkeley is also really nice, it's in a good part of town with street parking. read more

Almost a decade with the brow guidance of Amanda Poe! This year, she introduced brow lamination into our routine, and unlocked my brows full potential. If ever Amanda is out of the studio, I know I can trust the work of her fellow brow artists. Overall, my favorite self care treat! read more

Amanda has created a space full of professional, talented and kind women! I am constantly complemented on my brows and I know it's because of the meticulous job that Kelly does on my brows every time I sit in her chair! Poe has become a safe space for me and I love that! If I could leave 100 stars, I would! Mylissa is an incredible brow artist and aesthetician. I have received various services from her from brows to facials and I've always been so please. She is so professional and you might think a brow wax is a brow wax...think again! Mylissa's brow services change yo face! I've also recently started getting lash perms, and I will never be able to go back I didn't feel like it was scary or uncomfortable at all. I don't have to wear mascara anymore and feel bright eyed & bushy tailed in the morning! This is before coffee!!! Definitely, recommend Mylissa with 100% confidence. The space of POE is also so welcoming. It always is clean and inviting. The other ladies that work Ada & Amanda are amazing too. I travel from San Francisco to come here because I love it so much. This will be my new go-to brow place! I've been a client of Kelly's for a few years now and followed her here after she changed salons. I'll follow her anywhere! Both Kelly and Mylissa were friendly, professional, and very skilled. I had my brows shaped & tinted and already booked my follow up. In love with them! I was driving over an hour into SF just to get my brows down and now in Berkeley the drive is half the time - that's just a bonus! read more

I've only been in to see Kelly twice now, but both times I've been completely shook by how good my brows look walking out of this place. I always thought my brows were fine and I did a pretty good job with them, but there were sparse patches that I've always had to fill in. I was curious about brow lamination, went in just to try it, and walked out with what felt like completely new brows. Laminated and tinted, my brows looks SO much fuller and sleeker. The hairs lengthened and straightened, my brows felt lifted and the sparse patches disappeared. The tinting added a lovely depth of color that basically eliminated the need for filling them in. The second time I came was just for tinting and grooming, and once again I wondered to myself if it would make much difference, and Kelly once again transformed my brows. So ya, I guess now I'm hooked and will be getting my brows groomed and laminated regularly from now on. read more

Kelly is amazing!!!!! I went to see her for the first time on Friday last week. I've already had 4 people ask me where I got my eyebrows done. I have thick eyebrows and most people either thin them out too much or don't shape them well. I showed Kelly some pictures and she literally copy pasted what I wanted. She's very sweet and great at what she does. Really glad I found my place for brows. read more

Dani has been doing my brows since the before times (before 2020, I mean). You don't mess with perfection, so I'll stick with her for my brows until she moves out of state or retires. She has a killer eye, so my brows always suit my face perfectly. She's gentle and conscientious of keeping my brows full as well as shaped. As far as the person herself, she is deeply kind and has this warm, authentic presence about her. I see way fewer people on a regular basis these days, so the fact that my brow specialist is also someone I look forward to catching up with once a month makes her a keeper. Shout out to Poe, because I liked seeing Dani at her old spot, but the studio at Poe is so fresh and lovely and light! I really like the chairs and products, too. read more

Ayda was fabulous! She spent a lot of time getting my brows just right. She did a fabulous job and is also lovely to work with. Highly recommend! read more

Wow! I am not one to take time to write a review, but for Kelly I will. I hadn't had my eyebrows waxed in a long time due to some bad experiences. Not only did Kelly make my eyebrows look amazing, but it didn't hurt and I had no reaction to the wax. She obviously keeps everything clean and well maintained after each client. To top it off she is the most relatable, amiable and kind person! Wish I could hang out at Poe all day instead of going back to work. The rest of the staff is lovely as well. Such a great experience and I can't wait to come back! read more

Ayda is wonderful. I have the 90's thin brows and am in my mid 40s. She does a great job getting them looking fuller and getting rid of all the fuzz. She is also a wonderful human with good energy. The salon has a good vibe, which I appreciate. They definitely take brow waxing to the next level. They give brows the attention they deserve and Ayda is meticulous. read more

Relaxed atmosphere, kind, and efficient! It was my first time having my brows done, and Amanda did an amazing job!

I've been seeing Kelly for a few years now and she is amazing; such a nice person and a brow perfectionist. Kelly used to work in SF but she is so good I had to continue to make the drive to see her since she moved to Poe Brow in Berkeley (I live in Menlo Park). I love her new location so much better than SOMA and Poe Brow studio is super cute with a good selection of products. read more

I had a good experience with the artist at this location during my first visit, but unfortunately, my recent experience with their customer service was terrible. I had to attend an urgent meeting and tried calling the location hours in advance to inform them, but no one picked up. I followed their voicemail instructions and texted the number, but received a message hours later that my card had been charged $155. I tried calling during the appointment time they claimed was not filled, but no one was available to speak with me. I understand that there might be a fee, but being charged the entire amount is ridiculous, especially since I tried multiple times to contact them throughout the day. Finally, someone from their shop texted me back, but had no remorse and a bad attitude. It's unfortunate that things didn't work out, as I'm in the beauty industry on the corporate side and love getting beauty treatments done. I'm a regular when it comes to my nails, toes, and eyelashes, and thought I'd add my brows to the list, but I won't be going back to this location. I'll be going to another place in Oakland. read more

WOW WOW WOW! I was referred to come check out POE by my masseuse. Funny thing is, it also happened to be the place I had wanted to try out when I drove past it about a month ago. I finally made the appointment to come see Mylissa. I have been trying to find a new brow expert and after trying two other places, let's just say I'm sold! Mylissa took the time to get to know my brow history and made me feel very comfortable. Yes, it's pricey, but you pay for looking on point! I'm definitely coming back in 4 weeks. read more

As you ladies know, eyebrows are very important real estate on the face so you should only go to the best. Look no further than Poe Brow salon! My eyebrows have never looked better. My eyebrows are thick but naturally extremely light so the thickness isn't evident. I live for the tints and shaping by Amanda. I was surprised how big my brows actually were when tinted and absolutely loved it. Her work will frame your whole face while still keeping your brows natural and full. Also she is an absolute angel, thank you Amanda! read more

This is my second time going to POE studio and I love it! The atmosphere is friendly, clean, and the prices are reasonable. I've gotten a facial and brow wax with Ayda. I struggle with black heads and dry skin, and when I tell you my face has never been smoother I truly mean it! Thank you so much Ayda and POE! Not cheap - but my brows look amazing every time I come here. I go to a different person each time and every one of them has been fantastic.

Mylissa (pronounced My-Lisa :) ) is literally my brow angel. I've been seeing her for about a year now and she is the only person I trust to touch my brows. As a professional beauty enthusiast, I thought I knew about brows and got by doing them myself, but I swear my face transformed after seeing Mylissa! Beyond being an amazing brow artist, she's the sweetest person and I always look forward to seeing her. Thank you Mylissa!!! xoxo read more

Kelly did my brows after I had bounced around to a few places with long breaks in between. I was getting a little worried I wouldn't find a place in the east bay to care for my little bb caterpillars (aspiring large caterpillars). I made an appointment with Kelly after reading reviews though I believe this place is solid and I'm sure anyone here is killer! Kelly was nice, professional, funny, and took her time with me. She asked me lots of questions about my brow history, my dream brows, how often I wax-tweeze, how I fill them in with makeup. Kelly was easy to talk to and showed me what my brows looked like as she was shaping them to check-in on how much she was taking off and what she was proposing to take off or keep. I appreciate the time and care. As most of us are looking to undo the mistakes of our past (over tweezing, the regret!!!) Kelly knew to ask about 2-3 tiny hairs as she knew I'm looking to grow out my brows as much as I can! Praying for caterpillars by next summer. I'll be back. I will say that the price point is not in everyone's budget and so I think this place is a great splurge if you are taking long breaks (8-12wks) between visits. My appointment with Kelly was a brow shape + tint and I'll likely continue with the tint as it adds some dimension to my brow shape and allows me to fill in less on everyday makeup days. read more

I met Mylissa at Code, and fell in love! No one else has ever made my brows looks as amazing as she does. We lost touch when she transitioned to Poe, but we recently reconnected. I'm so happy she is on this side of the bay in one of my favorite areas. She is a true artist, and I'll never go anywhere else again! read more

I was referred to Amanda at POE by my hairstylist in SF when I asked for a recommendation about where to get a pre-wedding facial. I submitted an appointment request knowing that there were slim odds Amanda would be able to accommodate me and my mom on short notice (10 days before my wedding!), but luckily Amanda had just had a big cancellation and was able to fit us both in on a Friday afternoon/evening. What followed was the best facial I've had in recent memory. Not only is Amanda a lovely person, but she is clearly very knowledgeable about skincare, the science behind it, and best practices for taking care of one's face. She gave both me and my mom "glowing" facials, and while she customized the treatment for each of us, we both loved the result. Not only did we enjoy our facials, but when I had a few blemishes pop up in the days following, Amanda was able to fit me in on very short notice for a short treatment with Ayda to ensure that I have clear skin for my wedding day. Ayda was also great and fun to chat with, and I am so grateful that I was able to head back over so easily. While it's not ideal for me to travel from SF to Berkeley for a facial, Amanda and POE are worth it! My mom and I will definitely both be back, and I'd recommend a facial here to anyone :) read more

Well what can I say! First of all the studio space itself is very cute, clean, and inviting. All the ladies there are very sweet and welcoming. Ayda who does my facials is extremely professional and courteous and not to mention a beautiful person all around! Her touch is unlike anyone else and is the reason I return time and time again for my facials! She helps you figure what is the best treatment and plan for YOUR skin, not just a general regimen for all. My skin always feels amazing after leaving her and she always has great tips on things I can continue to do at home to keep my skin glowing! Just see for yourself at my picture! read more

Ayda was fantastic. Detail-oriented, great conversationalist, made the time fly. I really appreciate her work -- my brows look great!

MYLISSA is the greatest! Brows were a bit traumatic for me in my 20s until I found Poe Brow + Skin Studio. I have sensitive skin and had skin lift & burn in the past. When I found Poe Brow + Skin Studio, they were supportive, kind, professional, and I have had zero problems with waxing since. I work with Mylissa and she is a master with the eyebrows and such a rock star person as well. It is fun to see her, catch up, and leave feeling fabulous. read more

This place is so perfect for a pamper, the atmosphere is gorgeous! I've been seeing Ayda for 7 years now because she knows how to work with all different types of skin issues. They use a lot of dermologica, which is an amazing product line. It's the only product that actually makes a true difference on my skin! I've gone to her for brow shaping, facials, and some of the other services they provide, and I've loved absolutely everything! Honestly, this place is perfect in many way, I recommend 6/5 stars! read more

Amanda is the best, hands down. I come to her from Los Angeles as often as I can. Every time I get my brows done by her, I always get comments on how amazing my brows are. Before going to Amanda, I would constantly breakout after being waxed. With Amanda's top of the line care, I have yet to break out after a waxing which I find amazing. Amanda is very professional and so welcoming. We always catch up like old friends, while I get beautified. I wish I lived closer so I could come as often as possible. Her facials are amazing as well. I got a facial today and already my skin feels so much better. I can't wait to get my next one! I highly recommend checking out POE Brow + Skin. You will be hooked!!! Thank you for keeping my eyebrows on fleek and my skin feeling fresh!! read more

Second visit and I couldn't be happier with Amanda! After years of threading my brows were thing/unflattering to my eye shape. I immediately loved the calm, relaxing environment of the studio and Truly appreciate the conservative 4-6 week follow ups which makes this the same cost/ cheaper than threading for me. Also love that she does my eyebrows before I leave :) the barista at Starbucks got distracted by my eyebrows/giving me a compliment she forgot my order. Highly recommend! read more

I get my brows done by Mylissa. I have been getting my brows done by her for four years now. I live an hour away from the studio and continue to drive to get my brows done by Mylissa. Her style is perfect. I don't even need to tell her what to do, she follows my natural brow shape then amplifies by adding amazing finishing touches and shape. She also gives you a quick little brow/forehead rub at the end. Mylissa and the other two stylists are so nice and have the cutest studio. Highly recommend. read more
