Ebikahuku garlic shrimps were great - the Ebicurry just as good if not better. Almost missed this place as it's located behind Marugame Udon. First visited for dinner and had to come back for breakfast. Daughter insisted on having Ebikahuku for breakfast - could not get enough! read more

Had the garlic shrimp. Was really good. Got it to go. Would definitely get this dish again! The only reason for a 4 star vs 5 is they didn't offer any type of vegetables to order with a dish. read more

I heard good stuff about this garlic shrimp rice bowl but to be honest, I felt like it was missing some stuff! First of all, I get that it is garlic flavored but it was not very salty and it didn't have other flavors that would have made this taste better! Also, the rice was very mushy which I am not a fan of! However , the shrimp was super yummy , but I wish the seasoning could be a little better for it to be super duper good ! read more

The garlic shrimp was really good and agree with everyone else that it's much more convenient and worth it than driving out to the shrimp trucks. The peeled shrimp were much easier to eat and the garlic sauce was also very good. Thumbs up from me, would recommend if you are in the area. read more

The owner replied to my comment insinuating if I work for a food truck, as if I am trying to bring his business down..?! LMAO. Yes, getting bad reviews for your store is not the best thing you would like to have. However, if you really can not handle these negative reviews wisely, I don't think you should be a business owner; people do not leave negative reviews without any reason. In this case, I have specified how your foods tasted on the day I visited your place. If I were you, I would take it as a constructive criticism and would try to better the food. My husband and I are visiting from out of town and stumbled upon this restaurant and wanted to leave a review from our experience so that others don't have to go through the same thing and waste money or to not have high expectations. read more

If you like garlic shrimp, you'll need to check out this place! I was initially skeptical since the items on their menu are a bit random (prime rib, burritos, fish and chips, etc). But I was pleasantly surprised by how good their garlic shrimp was (the EbiKahuku; I didn't try the cream sauce one) - it was perfectly drenched in garlicy and buttery goodness served on top of two big scoops of rice. One of the best spots for garlic shrimp in Waikiki in my opinion (comparable to Giovanni's)! read more

We tried this place for the first time and it was pretty good. I had the prime rib and the wife had the garlic shrimp. We also order some takioyaki. I usually get the prime rib medium rare but opted for the medium well in case the kids wanted to try some. The beef itself was pretty good. It was very tender. I wasn't the biggest fan of the rub they used. But all in all it wasn't bad and for $26 it was cheap for Waikiki. The garlic shrimp wasn't bad either. Although I can't differentiate it as much as my wife who orders it all the time. As long as the shrimp is fresh, buttery and garlicky, I'm good. And the garlic shrimp here was all of the above. I don't really like takioyaki. I've had it a few times in Japan and it's just not my thing. The wife was impressed with their takioyaki though. The place itself is pretty small, but they have some seating outside and a piano you can play if you so choose. Gal working the counter was friendly. The timing of my pickup order was a bit off. It was about ten minutes later than the targeted time, but every place in Waikiki seems to have a wait these days. Definitely a place I'd visit again. read more

My review is based on customer service. I went last night to get some garlic shrimp..I had a specific preference and Trisha the assistant manager called me back today and not only offered to make me another one but even said the owner would still give me a refund. Sadly, I didn't have time to go down there. After our call she called the owner Stuart and they were happy to issue me a refund and have it sent to my address. No issues, smooth transaction, top notch customer service and that's not only huge in my world but huge within the restaurant industry. Trish was very very professional and kind! For this reason alone, I will definitely come back when I'm here probably in a couple weeks as I'm usually here every week for work and give them another shot as they had some great things on the menu and also in a great location which is not easy to spot but within a great walking distance inside a little alley way mall/strip. I must also add the sweet young girl who took my order last night. She was adorable and had such a kind demeanor. So know that you have nothing to lose by trying this local spot and as you can see they have great reviews which is how I spotted them because I'm a huge food snob and will only try places that are 4 1/2 stars and up (usually) lol. I know I know..what a diva, right? I'm really not! Haha but I can cook and I cook very well so if I get food from outside, and put in those unknown calories in me..it better be worth it! Lol Thanks Trisha for the above and beyond excellent customer service and kindness. Many business's cold learn from this business. They could have lost a customer and instead they kept one! See ya' guys soon! Ps. Really enjoyed the little added humor in the recording when you call about the hungry starved people at the udon place! Lol very cute and made me chuckle! read more

After a day of eating tons of fried, greasy food, we wanted to eat something heartier. We ordered the family style Hungarian beef stew to split between us 4 and it hit the spot! From reading the other reviews, I am clearly not in the majority of those who have had garlic shrimp before! So, this review is only for their garlic shrimp, My original plan was to hit up the heavily positively reviewed Marugame Udon restaurant for dinner around 8pm. However, when I got to the restaurant I did a double take as I saw the line stretch down 2 blocks...and it looked like it wasn't moving at all. So I went to explore my options and settled here as it seemed like it had great reviews and it was also empty. I ordered the garlic shrimp and was really overpowered by how much garlic there was. I'm sure there is some reason to add all that seasoning but it was just too much for me and I wasn't used to it. I did eat all the shrimp and ended up leaving most of the 2 scoops of rice that seems to come with most meals. I liked how fast the food was, and I was also able to get a matcha ice cream next door, but that's it I can comment on to be fair! So, I would probably come back to try this place again as the service was fast and friendly, but maybe a different dish! read more

In the small outdoor food court next to matcha shop across the street from international marketplace. Wanted to get something quick for breakfast before heading out to snorkel and this sure delivered. Easily found metered parking at 830am nearby. Hubby bear ordered the Portuguese sausage eggs and hash browns. He liked his simple meal but also ate most of my rice with garlic sauce and a few prawns. I liked the garlic shrimp here! Was flavorful and plump even though it was peeled. I personally am a true Asian and eat shrimp shells anyways so I ate these along with the shelled tail. She quoted my order would take 5 min to come out but it was 15 min. I would've gone to the restroom across the street if I had known. I would also suggest the person out front to change their gloves more often as they're handling the iPad exchanges etc but also opening the food containers sent out from the kitchen to check orders. TLDR; solid garlic shrimp in a convenient place and open early :) read more

UPDATE: Stewart (the owner) reached out to us personally after he saw this review to explain- essentially the prime rib was accidentally placed into the fridge in between lunch and dinner, and the chef on that night was not versed in how to properly heat it back up. He was extremely apologetic and promptly refunded our meal, and invited us back the following week to try the prime rib at its best (Sunday afternoon) when he freshly carves the rib (see updated picture). This time, the rib was exactly what we expected - tender, perfect medium rare, and flavorful. Stewart came out to make sure our meal was to our expectation. Such a sweet owner - you can tell he really cares about the quality of his food and his customers. read more

It's nice finding a place in Waikiki that had garlic shrimp so I don't need to go to North Shore. Me and one other person shared the double order of ebikahuhu (garlic shrimp). I love that I didn't have to get my hands dirty since the shrimp is shell off. There is lots of garlic, but I kind of wish there was more flavor than just garlic though. Even so, it was good and I'd go back if I don't want to drive out of Waikiki. read more

The owner is serious about his prime rib, some of the best I have ever eaten. Too bad it's only cooked on Sundays and is sold out quickly. The prime rib is roasted, and then sliced. If you want it more done, it can be heated to order. I ate mine medium rare, as the cow intended. The au jus was a great accompaniment but the beef was plenty flavorful on its own. The bread that came with the meal was heavenly, though probably not for someone on a diet. We also had the garlic shrimp, which was pretty good as well, but the prime rib was on a different level. I buy/cook entire ribeye primal on my own, so I'd like to think that I am a bit of a nerd when it comes to ribeye steaks. This prime rib was just so good! In summary, there is not a lot of choices on the menu, but the cook is a gift to us fellow meat eaters. Too bad I am traveling back home this Friday, or else I would definitely hit this spot again. read more

The pictures on the menu look better than the actual food, of course. I came here on June 26, 2021. I ordered the Hungarian short ribs, and I was very disappointed. Everything was BLAND!! The sauce was bland. You could taste a little flavor, but not much. In terms of the little flavor that there was, it was very one demential. There was a lack of spices in the sauce and the meat. The sauce tasted like a glorified version of watered down spaghetti sauce, and the meat was mostly all fat. The only thing that tasted good was the potatoes. I would not come back here again, I would not recommend this place - it is not worth the money you pay. You're better off going somewhere else to eat. read more
