During my recent visit to Honolulu for the Hapalua Half Marathon, I came here a couple of times for dinner. The location was tucked inside a small courtyard on the north side of Kuhio Ave just west of the International Market Place. It was behind the popular Marugame Udon. It was kind of easy to miss. On one visit, I ordered their garlic shrimp (ebi kahuku). It was very similar to what you can get up at North Shore, but these shrimp were peeled. For my other visit, I ordered their ebi a la King. It was a pretty efficient transaction. After paying for my order, I was given a pager. Once my food was ready, I grabbed a pair of chopsticks and took it back to my room to enjoy. Both items were good and delicious, but the portion was on the smaller side.

Too good not to return when I'm in the area. The Garlic Shrimp is still my favorite. No peeling necessary and no pokey shrimp heads or shells. They give you plenty of garlic on top of your shrimp and rice. They definitely make to order because it always comes out nice and hot. Come in the evening on a weekday as to avoid lines.

We wanted to check EbiNomi out since it is a popular spot for garlic shrimp in the area. We ordered the garlic shrimp plate and it took a long time to come out, about 35 minutes, even though we were the only ones in line. The plate came with rice and only 6 medium sized shrimp and cost almost $23 with tax. The garlic shrimp was cooked well, not overcooked or anything but there was nothing really special about it since it just tastes like garlic and butter. Especially for the steep price, it's not worth it and was really disappointing. We were the only customers there but had to wait for outdoor seating since there are people just chilling at the tables. There are better garlic shrimp spots in the area that are more affordable and give better portions.

There's always a time or two when Yelp steers you wrong.. When you see the excellent score, then go and try the food and is left scratching your head.. Asking yourself, who gave these scores, and why?? EbiNomi was one of them places for me!! Either I ordered the wrong thing, came on an off cook day, or I didn't get the hype because the garlic shrimp I ordered here was sodium free and not delicious! I mean it literally tasted like shrimp with a gang of unseasoned cooked garlic.. that's it! There was zero wow factor, nothing interesting or different about it- just garlic, plain rice, and shrimp.. I put it on par with hospital food type Shit flavor wise! Skip it!!

don't be fooled by the positive reviews. tasted like jarlic, like they just scooped it out of the jar and dumped it on top. THEY should've paid ME to eat this tourist trap shrimp.

I ordered from Ebinomi through Uber Eats and was really happy with my meal. I had the Ebikahuku, and the shrimp were not only beautifully presented but packed with a lot of great garlic flavor. The shrimp were pretty big in size too. The portion was balanced and had a solid shrimp to rice ratio. Definitely a tasty option if you're craving garlic shrimp and want something that travels well.

It's a little tucked behind and it's more of a to go place! They do have a few tables that you can sit at outside of the restaurant. We had the garlic shrimp plate here and it was very garlic-y, which I loved! It had so many chunks of garlic! I wish it was seasoned a little more but I used hot sauce and it was good~

Every time I'm at Waikīkī I come to this curry spot! They have some of the best curry in the entire Waikīkī strip! I got their chicken curry and it is so creamy and tasty! Their curry have a lot of coconut milk to give it that slight spice after taste, which I love! There are searing outside and nearby as this is a small restaurant where you pick up the food.

Extra spicy chicken curry! This was super delicious, this will be one of the first few spots I'd want to stop by the next time I arrive to Hawai'i! I will get it just spicy and not extra spicy this time!! The chicken was super tender and I just kept wanting that sauce! Can't wait!

It's been ages since I've had garlic shrimp, so that's what I ordered. Took about 10-15 minutes for my order to be prepared. There were 8 peeled shrimp and a lot of garlic. I love garlic. The shrimp were also plump. I enjoyed this dish.

THE BEST SHRIMP I HAVE EVER HAD! This was our first time in Hawaii and we saw a video on TikTok about this place. The seasoning we had on shrimp prior was tasty but it was always on the shell so we were excited to try shelled shrimp and it did not disappoint!! My husband got the spicy garlic shrimp and I got the regular garlic shrimp. He said it was the best shrimp he's ever had in his life too. The owner was so friendly even though we came 15 min before he closed (parking is tricky. We ended up going to a parking garage two blocks down) and he even took our photo in front of his place for us. We will for sure be coming back every time we visit. Highly recommend!

Tried the local garlic shrimp in Waikiki--it had good flavor, but I personally think Giovanni's is better. The service was good; we ordered at the counter, and they brought the food to wherever we were sitting. It's a small spot with no indoor seating, just outdoor tables.

    Fried Oysters (6 pieces)
    Henry D.

We enjoyed the food we ordered from EbiNomi. On my first visit, my wife ordered the 4 piece Oyster but due to a mistake she was given a 6 piece order. The oysters were very fresh, nice batter and fried perfectly. I ordered a 3 piece fried shrimp, it had a nice light crispy batter and very fresh tasting shrimp. We went back a 2nd time and ordered a 4 piece fish and chips for me. My wife ordered the garlic shrimp (she normally gets the garlic shrimp from Giovanni's at the Hmart location). EbiNomi uses cod for the fish and chips which I love. The batter was good, fish was very fresh and fried perfectly. The fries were good but I like my fries a little more crispier. My wife said the shrimp was good but the garlic was overpowering and the rice was dry for some reason. The service is good and the gentleman who took my order was really nice. They serve breakfast too so next trip we will be back for lunch and dinner but we will try the breakfast too. EbiNomi is located behind Marugame on Kuhio. We give the Fried Oysters a 5, Fried Shrimp a 5, Fish and Chips a 4.5 and the Garlic Shrimp a 3, service a 5 for a 4.425 average for the food but bumped up to a 5 for our overall experience. For fresh and great food and good service try EbiNomi.

She suggested the mushroom jook where they would put the chicken on the side. They even added more mushroom to elevate his dining experience! Today we ordered family style, which they happily accommodated for us. They served the rice on the side. Our menu included short rib bao and shiitake bao (vegan), ume tomato, namul, spicy miso eggplant, crispy pork belly, menchi katsu, and mushroom jook. The standouts were the crispy pork belly with its watercress tomato onion salad, the ume tomato on whipped tofu, and spicy miso eggplant. The mushroom jook is so comforting, hearty and full of flavor served with chicken confit and a soy egg. The two desserts offered are both winners. The mochi churro with kinako and anglaise is crispy, light and creamy. The pineapple orange pudding is so cool and refreshing. And, 100% of dessert sales go to the culinary team! What?! The menu has changed to a more tapa style. We went with our two young children & they were very accommodating. We ordered a bunch of stuff but most notable was the Ensalada Salad, Croquette Cordero, Taco Raisu, Karaage Pollo, and for dessert, the Piña Borracha. We ordered some pork and steak skewers. These were ok, I would skip these next time. A little burnt. My favorite was the Ensalada Salad. The crab was sweet and the salsa opaca was so refreshing with the apple foam. Was told to smash the crisp on top and combine it with everything and that took it to another level! So good that we ordered another one. The price of this was so affordable too! The Croquette Cordero was like a mini curry ball with chimuchirri sauce. A little heavy but if you love curry, this is for you! The Taco Raisu surprised us. The taco meat was so flavorful!! Even though we were stuffed, we kept going back for more. It's like a deconstructed taco & you use the lettuce as a wrap. The Karaage Pollo came with a Cucumber Escabeche. It was so tangy and refreshing, which perfectly cuts through the rich, savory oiliness of the fried chicken. We got the Piña Borracha for dessert and that had a coconut cake, coconut lime mousse, banana lilikoi curd, and pasted pineapple on top. Amazing!! Great way to end the night. Everything was top notch. You can tell they put a lot of effort into each dish. Can't wait to go back!

We lucked out and found street parking nearby. As we walked into the restaurant, we were quickly greeted by the host/server who showed us to our seats along the U shaped counter. Loved the clean and modern decor inside the restaurant. As we sat down, our water cups were quickly filled and the only few questions they had for us was whether we wanted the wine pairing and we wanted to add the caviar toast and shaved truffles. We opted for the wine pairing, caviar toast and truffles. The meal was fantastic from start to finish. The most notable dishes for me were the ahi and caviar toast, cold corn soup, the lobster and the dessert. Sadly the portion of the toast here was about 1/2 the size of what we had at the cafe and unfortunately they didn't have uni for the night (maybe don't go on a Tuesday). Service was fantastic but they did have a few hiccups which were tolerable as the food was amazing. The wine pairing was also good and paired well with the dishes. As we are currently planning our trip back later this year, we will definitely head back to either the cafe (if the remodel is completed) or back to the counter for another meal. Ramen, according to the server, was the most popular thing on the menu, so how likely could it get messed up? Tonkatsu: Rich, but lacked any salt or had very little. We requested some salt and that instantly made the ramen better. The noodles had enough salt to carry it, but the broth was not great. It tasted like the broth was watered down or reconstituted, however no seasoning was added to re-adjust the broth. Broth: Had little salt and lacked punch, umami, and was brown instead of white. Noodles: Had enough salt to taste good, but was slightly overcooked Pork: Extremely bland. Tasted like zero salt was added during cooking. Toppings: Greatly lacking in toppings Tsukemen: The Tsukemen had a lot of the same issues. Now being a dipping ramen, the broth should be even richer and more flavorful than any normal ramen. Tsukemen -- no matter where you have it in Japan, should be richer and saltier than most broths, but the broth here was severely lacking. For $26 a bowl this was worse than your DIY frozen ramen packs. Now I'm not asking for Japan-level of ramen mastery here, this is after all, just a tourist spot -- but if your Tonkatsu is the best selling item, you have to step it up. Our server did mention that some people complained about the amount of salt in ramen, so they adjusted it. But dare I say, instead of diluting the normal salt/seasoning amount for everyone, couldn't you just add a separate, flavor-light version for people inexperienced with ramen, instead of diluting the original for everyone else? If you're reading this Mr. Morimoto, I would highly encourage you to fly here and order the ramen. I think you and I would share the same opinions. P.S. I've also been to your other Morimoto spots and it was not this bad.
