We got here at 8:50, we were ignored until 9:14 and it wasn't even busy. After we were sat, our server, the only person in the store doing ANYTHING, took 15 more mins to even get us drinks, but it's ok because again, he was the ONLY one doing anything. The food we got was the worse thing I've ever had to eat. During my most recent visit, this restaurant was understaffed with employees (if you want a restaurant job, then I encourage you to apply to this business!), so my husband and I waited 10 minutes to be seated at a table. The seating hostess and waitress spoke *very nicely* to us, and they promptly took our order and brought out our beverages and foods. Here are my reviews for our foods: Mile-high meatloaf - 3.5 stars - This meatloaf tasted decent, and it came with toasted bread, mashed potatoes, and onion rings. For my side, I chose broccoli, which was cooked well. Black angus superburger deal - 5 stars - This burger was a large size and was topped with cheese, lettuce, pickles, and sauce. We stopped here recently after an errand on Mcknight Road and were pretty disappointed. Eat N Park was always quick and reliable. We were hungry for lunch and wanted to get the salad bar. The hostess and waitress were sooo friendly and sweet. This location is very, very understaffed. Our waitress apologized to us for the wait because she was in the back washing dishes. She said they had no dishwasher. The salad bar was really rough. First - there were no plates. Hence because they had no dishwasher. There was a little bit of romaine lettuce and the salad bar was just a mess. We waited back at the table until they refilled the plates. I checked to see if I could start with soup, but there were no bowls. I opened the soup container and it had about 2 inches of soup boiling at the bottom. We felt bad, but the whole experience was not good. My boyfriend liked his chicken wrap and I had some french fries. My soup was good once they refilled it, but the salad was very "meh". This was the first time visiting an Eat N Park in years, and we probably will not return. The prices went up too, but that is to be expected at all restaurants right now. read more

Wtf happened to this place? Service was abysmal. Three tables and no one to take my order. Not even a glass of water. I waited 20 minutes before walking out. Some 3 year old wander over to the empty salad bar and was grabbing for forks and bowls until one of the wait staff warned to family of 7 that the little one could get injured. I just listened to these hicks complain that the 3 year old wasn't in harms way, ever though they were clueless she was half way across the restaurant. This will be the last eatnpark I visit for a long time. I used to love eating here. No more.... read more

Wife and I had dinner her the other night. I had the cod with mashed potatoes and gravy and they have a huge salad bar. The cod was delicious and the salad/soup/fruit bar was really great. I could of come for just the salad bar and would of been completely happy. The service was great and it was fast and friendly. The place is pretty big and was very clean. If in the area I do recommend Eat'n Park as the food and service are both really good. read more

I grew up on Eat'n Park, almost every weekend of my high school years found me here at some point. And while the menu has changed, the "feeling" stays the same. For an inexpensive, unpretentious spot, it still oozes Pittsburgh charm. I understand why some folks might not like it, but I'd go here over any National chain for a quick bite. I should preface that I'm not a salad bar person, and I know that's one of their biggest draws (or weaknesses from reading the reviews). But for a decent sandwich, entree or a late night dessert, it's absolutely enjoyable. This evening I ordered 2 "whale of a cod" sandwiches for pick-up. I had a 20% off coupon for any takeout. While on the phone, I mentioned this coupon & was told they didn't have a register at the takeout with a key to deal with coupons. Bring it with you, I was told. I went for the pickup & was quoted $27.80 for the 2 sandwiches. I gave my credit card, signed the receipt, got my food and left. I was about a mile away when I looked down & saw that coupon. I turned around and went back. The girl at the window knew me and took the coupon and receipt to her manager. She came back saying the manager said she can't do anything because the transaction is completed. This is probably the third time they have not been able to accept a coupon for me. The other two times we ate inside the restaurant. There is always some excuse! ! I stress anyone with a family should pick another restaurant to patronize. Eat n Park is definitely not customer friendly. I feel sorry for the servers because they are the ones who lose. read more

Watch out for Karen if you're African American because you'll get bad service. She made sure that her non black customers had drinks, napkins and if they needed anything else but us. This Eat'n Park location is always busy..busy enough to have another Eat'n Park location across the street that is equally busy. I dunno..North Hills folk just really love themselves some Eat'n Park. I've always enjoyed this location..it's big and spaced out in a way that even if it's crowded it doesn't feel like you're being boxed in. This is another great all night dining option Pittsburghers have as well..they really don't know how lucky they are. The things here that stand out the most to me are their coffee and their chicken noodle soup. I'm not a big coffee drinker..just don't really have a taste for it.. it the coffee is is and exception because it is delicious. The chicken noodle soup is all chicken and noodles..the noodles are thick and delicious and the chicken is very tender. Again not a huge soup fan but that stuff is good. Don't forget to grab a box of smiley face cookies on your way out..they're a Pittsburgh staple and they are delicious! read more

So there is a bigger eat n park not a mile down the road .... why do I choose the LITTLE eat n park next to get go ... the waitresses. Phyllis & the other ladies welcome you as if you are guests in their home. I love breakfast .... for some unknown reason they have the best oatmeal .... if you looking for a special treat ... blueberry pancakes with blueberry syrup. I love a breakfast at Pittsburgh's family-owned restaurant chain Eat'n Park. As a teenager this is the place I would go with my friends after every jr high dance, sports game, or any weekend we couldn't find anything better to do. We'd have fried appetizers, milkshakes and grilled stickies. Now I love to go for good, affordable coffee and pancakes on a weekend morning. The Yinzer community is strong here, there's just something so nice and comforting about coming to Eat'n Park and seeing the hard working employees & patrons, their Pittsburgh pride & friendliness is evident. Their Caramel Macchiato Latte, is definitely full of sugar, but it is so worth the calories for a delicious sweet treat. A bonus on top is that it comes with a free refill, that I usually take to go. My go-to Eat'n Park is the one right in front of the Ross Park Mall (7370 McKnight Rd) the other smaller location down McKnight is very slow. Eat N' Park is awesome. I don't know why people keep doggin' on it. It's got down-home food, both healthy and... not so healthy... for super cheap prices. I went there for brunch/breakfast on a Sunday morning. The bananas foster french toast is a total sugar bomb, but tastes *awesome*. If you're in the mood for something lighter (even by California standards), you can get an egg white scramble with wheat toast or cottage cheese with fruit. I was in the mood for their "endless salad bar", which at initially seemed a little sparse but actually had more than enough variety to crowd my salad plate...twice. I appreciated the chickpeas and cottage cheese, nice protein sources for those who don't want to eat meat. I also liked the stuffed green olives and three bean salad which bring lively flavors to the salad. The fruit selection this time of year (apparently honeydew and cantelope, this week in December) was a little low. The soups were also good. That night was Italian wedding, which had a noticeably high meatball to pasta ratio. The welcomed banana bread hanging out around the soup bowls was just sweet enough for a dessert. I actually ordered $2 salad bar upgrade for my entree "mile high meatloaf". When meatloaf arrived, it looked pretty good but in came up short on taste. It kinda tasted like it came from a TV dinner, kinda artificial, not like a hamburger. The mashed potatoes and gravy didn't have that much taste either. The bread the meatloaf sat on was tough. Usually I like anything covered in gravy, but I probably wouldn't order the meatloaf again. Maybe I'll go for the Smothered Ground Sirlon instead next time. I've been wanting to try this local spot for a while and finally got around to it! The food was good breakfast diner-esque food, so you can't go wrong. They had a new Cold-Brew Coffee which I really enjoyed as well. The cashier and hostess were very nice. I didn't give more stars is because we had to wait a bit for our food (table next to us came later and got food before us) and our waitress wasn't too enthused. Maybe she was tired? The waitress was on her phone twice. The first time, I was trying to ask for napkins after my meal arrived. Once I got her attention after being on phone in the seating area, she said she would be right back. 10 minutes later, I was finished with my meal and saw her on her phone again behind the register next to the manager, still waiting for napkins. Lastly, after appx. 3 mins of staring them down turned around, the manager voiced to her that one of her tables seemed like I was waiting for something. She came over and had the nerve to joke "we are so busy today" as a reason to forget my simple request even though the area was half filled at most. Ordered the kale salad arrived absolutely no kale on the salad send it back my next salad was about one leaf of kale shredded with a mound of Iceberg and a pinch of Mixed Field greens at a price tag of $10 suggest you do not order the kale salad even though the dressing and ingredients or a pallet success. This was a nice conventionally located place to eat. We waited about 5-7 minutes to be seated during a non-busy time because the hostess also runs the front cash register. Took a longer than usual before a server could come to the table (I'm assuming they might be short staffed seeing very few of them during dinner hours.). Our waitress was very pleasant with me but seemed to have a slight dislike for my boyfriend. Ignoring the minor things my Oreo milkshake that is handmade was awesome. I got the cod sandwich and fries with cheese. The fries left something to be wanted and the cheese was visually unappealing (didn't know this was possible). The cod sandwich however was amazing. My boyfriend also got the Mac and cheese bites which he said were pretty good. No corn salad but they did have three beet eggs that my husband may or may not have cracked a tooth on they were so hard. No potato soup?!?!?! Clean, friendly, really moderately priced American diner food. I enjoyed my All American Scrambler (scrambled eggs, Canadian bacon and cheese on a bagel) with a side of fruit. I used to love Eat n'Park. There is a large variety of food and it is family-friendly. Recently, our visits have been tainted in some way. The last trip turned me off for a bit. I had tried the zucchini lasagna, which was really good. It had a nice balance of vegetables and cheese. The zucchini was crispy, not soggy at all. My daughter ordered the kid's French Toast, which seems pretty easy. The bread was made with stale bread and burnt in the middle. She also ordered an ice cream sundae. When we got her ice cream, there was blood on the plate and food. The waiter commented "Geez. Did you want a different one?" Needless to say, we did not want anymore food.
