This is a small brunch spot with a large menu and lots to offer! We had a large party that they were able to accommodate. We got everything from the sweet to savory options and lattes. Each plate was prepared well. The sandwiches were very filling and the I was stuffed after 2 out of 3 of the pancakes. The churro French toast was the most unique and the tostadas were our favorite thing we tried!

Their drip coffee is on point!

Eat Chow is one of those places. That is such a great surprise, it's a little hole-in-the-wall place down a side street but is definitely worth the visit. Parking can be a little bit tricky, but if you get there early enough you're in for a treat. One of the things I love about this place is it's very casual atmosphere, that really feels like you're eating at a friend's house for breakfast. The place is well kept, has plenty of outdoor seating if you choose, and inside. Has a very pleasant tasteful decor that is very casual and warm and inviting. I have not eaten here for lunch, as it's always been a breakfast place for me. Everything on the menu is stellar. And I've never had a bad experience here at all. This particular trip, I wanted to try something that I had never had before so I opted for the chow prime breakfast burrito... Which has strips of prime rib, hash browns, two eggs, onions and peppers, and is served with this amazing homemade salsa. The homemade salsa should also be a controlled substance, because I had three of them and I could probably take some home. I am a big fan of coffee, and their coffee does not disappoint. Super tasty. Just strong enough and unlimited refills. Their weight staff is absolutely perfect. If you go there, ask for Alex, super chill guy, attentive without being overbearing, and ready to make suggestions. He was definitely part of the wonderful dining experience. Bottom line? When you are in Costa Mesa and you are looking for a place to have breakfast, you owe it to yourself to go to Eat Chow. I'm not saying it'll change your life, I'm just saying it will change your life.

Tried this location as I love the one in Newport and safe to stay, it's just as amazing! Service was attentive, overall ambience was great (not too loud), plenty of areas for parking, and of course, the food was delicious! One thing I want to point out though is that I ordered crispy potatoes on the side and was served tater tots (not sure if the ran out, or if this location is different)...was a bit let down as I LOVE the crispy potatoes at the Newport location but these were still good. Also recommend to get chipotle aioli/ranch on the side for the potatoes!

Used to come here all the time when I worked in the area, so made a trip over to see if it held up. The hole in the wall has expanded to a decently sized 50s diner aesthetic restaurant and the quality has remained solid. Had a quite excellent burger with a salad and a bowl of French onion soup. Service was pleasant and attentive for my group of four. Happy to see the place is as good as I remember. Now just have to hope they could bring back The Fried Egg breakfast plate, that was amazing and I miss it. But sadly I think it's lost to time.

I am an original Eat Chow enthusiast. Been loving this place since they opened. I will always and forever claim they have the BEST SALMON SANDWICH anywhere. I moved away from Orange County many years ago but must always come back here to get a taste of home away from home. I am disheartened that they changed their salad dressing recipe. My little family of 3 enjoyed our brunch on a cool, sunny afternoon on the patio. Always friendly and attentive staff and tasty food. Highly recommend!

My server gave me great recommendations! Both my appetizers were great. And I love the 1950s diner vibe.

So my Mom is a vegetarian but my Dad is a meat lover who only likes American and Italian food which makes going out to eat with my parents difficult since basically we can go to Italian or American restaurants and in this part of Costa Mesa that's pretty much Nicks or Eat Chow and everyone in my family actually prefers the food at Eat Chow! They have really good food here! I'm always pleasantly surprised that whatever I order is delicious - especially the soups, salads and artichoke appetizer. My mom loves the cauliflower too.

The menu has changed since we last visited. Disappointing. A couple of menu items we came for are no longer offered even though still listed. Just ok now.

I try Mediterranean Bowl, It was very delicious! The service was amazing by Alex and Rogelio thank you so much for your attention!

Solid brunch choice in the Costa Mesa Newport area! Came here with a friend on New Year's Eve late morning. We had a reservation at 11:00 and were seated right away; they did not seem super busy considering it was NYE. I ordered the breakfast brioche sandwich and a mimosa flight to share. The flight came with 4 different flavors, a good option to share with a friend. The breakfast sandwich was pretty good. The brioche was super soft and the egg was cooked well and not too messy to eat. My dish came with a small side of breakfast potatoes that were really nicely cooked and had some parmesan on them as well. Prices are moderate, and portion size is okay. The decor inside is really cute, kind of like a nicer diner vibe.

Excellent staff. Outstanding service. Clean restrooms. Super cute and warm decor. Great food! Perfect spot to grab a bite and then attend Newport Beach Holiday Light Parade in the bay. Highly recommend. Western Burger, Butternut squash bisque w pesto drizzle, truffle fries, mac & cheese, Tres Amigos all excellent. And the sangria was the best I have had ANYWHERE..(blueberries whole were a treat) including famous wineries in Napa, Sonoma and Temecula. Blown away! We will be back. Thank you

What I Love: * Unique Flavors: The food tastes great and they have some really unique touches. I love that they serve raspberry jam with their toast--it's a nice change from the standard grape or strawberry. * Homemade Quality: It's really cool that they do their own house-made potatoes and even their own homemade ketchup. You can tell they put effort into the details. The Drawbacks: * Pricing & Fees: I'd give this 4.5 stars if I could, but I'm sticking with 4 because it's definitely on the pricey side. What really bugs me is seeing a mandatory tip/service charge for certain group sizes on the receipt. Between the expensive menu and the fact that they are constantly busy with plenty of business, it feels like price gouging. * Parking: The parking lot is very small, so be prepared for a bit of a struggle to find a spot, especially since they are always packed. Final Thoughts: The food and unique house-made items keep me coming back, but be prepared for a high bill and a tight parking situation.

We ordered the combo kabob plate, the Bayshore pizza, and finished with baklava. The combo plate was much larger in person than expected and could easily feed two people, but we were hungry and wanted to try the pizza as well. The meats were seasoned very well and extremely juicy. The chicken was tender and flavorful, and the beef kabob was soft enough to almost melt in your mouth. The Bayshore pizza was more of a pan-style pizza with a unique cheese blend instead of traditional mozzarella. Make sure to ask for the pizza dip too, it has a tangy flavor that pairs really well with it. The warm baklava filled with pistachios was a great dessert to finish the meal. Service was friendly throughout the visit, and I appreciated that the restaurant cooks without seed oils because the meal did not feel overly heavy afterward. The interior is upscale and cozy with fresh flowers on each table, and the atmosphere feels great for both casual dinners and events. They also offer catering and private parties, which made me consider coming back for a graduation event in the future. The kabobs are definitely the highlight and are worth trying.

It's clearly marinated with care and grilled to juicy perfection. Every bite was moist, aromatic, and beautifully seasoned all the way through. The beef kabob was just as impressive--rich, juicy, and melt-in-your-mouth tender with that perfect char from the grill. You could really taste the quality of the meat and the balance of spices without anything being overpowering. The saffron rice was fluffy and aromatic. It also comes with a mixed salad. Not the usual balsamic dressing but a creamy herb infused dressing coating every leaf. Together, these kabobs were a knockout: bold flavors, perfect texture, and cooked exactly right. If you're looking for kabobs that are juicy, flavorful, and truly satisfying, this is the place. I'd come back for these alone. I forgot to mention they are dog friendly on the patio. It's not very often that I say this but I'm going to say it now. I may have had one of the top…read moredining experiences of my life. And it came from a breakfast joint, which is super rare in and of itself. Having lived in Southern California for many many years, I thought I had seen and experienced just about everything in the way of good places to eat. As I was driving around looking for some breakfast, I stumbled across oeb breakfast. And I am so glad I did. For starters, when you walk through the door, the place is bright and Cherry and has just the right amount of whimsy. It's neatly laid out and everything is in full view. It only took a moment my server to come get me at the front and direct me to a table. Let's talk about the service. Having been in the food service industry, I know what it takes to have a great dining experience. Caesar, who was my waiter, took care of me in a level that I have not seen in a very long time. Personable, gracious, accommodating, and helpful are just a few of the words I would use to describe my experience being served by him. I asked for coffee and water and within moments it arrived on my table. Side note, the coffee is off the chain! It is a brand called Umbria and it is amazing. After scanning the menu, I opted for the beef bulldogi Benedict with the beef Tallow fries. I asked for the fries extra crispy, and ask for my milk to be served with breakfast. If you've read any of my Yelp reviews on breakfast places, you know that that is one of my litmus tests for the accuracy of the order. If I have to ask for my milk after the meal's been delivered, they're not doing their job. Not that I'm picky, for me. It is just a way to determine how good of a listener the server actually is. It didn't take long at all for the food to be delivered. The presentation was absolutely amazing, as we eat with our eyes. First, I have to say that the way the food was plated was definitely a work of art. Once the food was dropped off half of me was going. I wonder if they will remember... And before I could finish my thought Caesar showed back up with the milk. Home run! The food itself was absolutely wonderful, I cannot remember when I have enjoyed a breakfast as much as this one. All the flavors were there, it was perfectly balanced, and was just a pleasant dining experience overall. Bragging on Caesar again, as I was sitting there, the restaurant started to get very busy, he handled himself with such Grace and poise and didn't let the mounting tension frazzle him. Again, I wish this place was in my hometown so I could come here more often, but you can bet that I will be back here multiple times. Bottom line? There aren't many places that I would tell friends they definitely absolutely had to go to. But oeb breakfast is now on the top of the list for me to recommend to my friends.
