Such a good spot for breakfast/brunch, they have a variety of savory and sweet options. We tried the savory options and thought they were delicious. The food is well priced for the portion is good. You're able to grab reservations in advanced. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant is fairly small with some seating indoors and a small outdoor seating area.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They only have a few parking spots out front and there's street parking. ig: @cravingswithcat

We eat at Eat Chow pretty often and I'm sure I've tried almost everything. My favorite things are: the crispy cauliflower, any of their tacos, I used to like their salmon burger but recently they changed their menu. I like their miso salmon bowl and Mediterranean bowl those are both nice additions that don't feel super heavy but healthy and filling. The spicy sausage pasta is also a favorite from friends, it's medium spice not super spicy. The truffle fries are also crispy and a good appetizer. The only thing I'd skip is their fig and Brie panini it's just okay. I love that they use moongoat coffee. My favorite latte is their cookie butter latte so good! Whether it's for lunch, dinner, or brunch.. Eat Chow is always a solid spot.

Food was delicious! Love that they are seed oil free. Probably the crispiest breakfast potatoes I've ever had. Burrito was loaded with ingredients and paired so well with the salsa. Service was splendid as well, can't wait to be back!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]DO NOT VISIT WITH SMALL CHILDREN[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] UPDATE TO RESPOND TO OWNER: As previously stated, the server was absolutely kind and professional in the situation. The manager could have and should have approached it and communicated differently. I wrote the review in hopes that as an owner this would be reflected upon. But I can see that you believe there is no room for growth in this situation. I am in no way saying that he didn't have a right to approach due to the noise complaint, only that it could have been handled with much more professionalism and empathy on his part. There was not prolonged screaming. I did state it was a small restaurant and that I had taken her to the restroom when she was getting noisy. She makes squeal sounds to communicate. It was a group of four women that asked to be moved while I was gone with the baby. I had only just arrived back at the table a couple of minutes before the manager had arrived and she was not screaming.... She was excited to eat when he approached. Original review: Made a reservation for my birthday for today for my husband, myself and our three kids. We drove two hours from Victorville to get there. My daughter just turned one and she doesn't talk yet. She only makes noises to communicate. She started getting noisy, so I did take her to the restroom for a few minutes and then walked her back to the table. While I was at the restroom, a group of young women asked to be moved away from us (my husband told me). It is a small restaurant indoors and that is their prerogative. As soon as I sat back down with her, the food was brought out. My older two children were very excited to get their food. My daughter was hungry and was making noises because she wanted to eat. She saw my food and kept reaching for it. Then, I believe it was the manager came over to us and said "we can't have babies screaming in here because of the other customers ". Didn't say anything else. She was not even crying. I asked the manager what his suggestion was and he told us to walk her around outside. I had already walked around with her and she was just HUNGRY And wanted to eat the food that had been brought out seconds before. He did NOT offer to move us to an available table outside. [[HIGHLIGHT]]My husband and I did not feel welcome there after that.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] My husband took our daughter away from the food and walked outside. This caused her to start to ACTUALLY cry. The server was a sweetheart and had no idea that any of this had happened. She was extremely kind about everything. I wish I had her name.We asked to pay for our children's food/drinks and we left the restaurant. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was extremely disheartening to see that there was in fact a large table available outside on the far end away from everyone.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]If you are looking for a remotely toddler friendly restaurant, this is absolutely not it.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We ordered four adult entrees, side of scrambled eggs, a mimosa flight and two dirty sodas. The entire situation could have been handled completely differently and the manager absolutely could have approached us and communicated differently . Hoping that he reflects on it and changes it for future families. But my family will never be back again. If you are not with children, you may likely have a much better experience and the food from previous visits was good.

Came to this location for the first time with my friends for brunch and it was great! FOOD: The food was really good! We got the loaded tater tots for an appetizer and they were really good! My friend and I shared the Steak and eggs and got a side salad and that was delicious!! For drinks, my friend and I shared the Mimosa sampler which was really good as well. I definitely recommend the mimosa flight, but my favorite was the El Corazon Mimosa from the four we tried. SERVICE: Our server was very nice and friendly! AMBIANCE: [[HIGHLIGHT]]Very casual setting, but nice and clean![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Only feedback is that parking is very limited and the lot is tiny! But there is street parking

Love that they went seed oil free! Salted caramel iced latte was tasty. Delicious breakfast. Short rib tostada was sooo good. Hubby loved the breakfast burrito with house made chorizo. We fought over the churro French toast!! Friendly server. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Went on a Tuesday morning and it wasn't busy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Would definitely go back!!

We were here at 1:00pm on a Sunday and could only order from the brunch menu that was 80% breakfast. I got the shrimp tacos with sauce & pico de gallo on the side. It was good but the sauce was spicy. My man got the Mexican Benedict. He said it was savory, unusual and good. Our friends got The Burger and chilaquiles. They enjoyed them. We all shared the cheesy tots which were amazing!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Stopped by Eat Chow in Dana Point and it was a great find. Fresh and casual spot with pleasant service.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We ordered the Mediterranean Bowl and "THE" Burger. The bowl came with herbal chicken, avocado, olives, feta cheese, chickpeas, and brown rice. The feta and olives a bit salty. As a dish, bright, balanced, and fresh though! "THE" Burger was juicy with bacon and came with a Caesar salad on the side. Quite a heavy burger if you've got an appetite. Both dishes felt thoughtful and well made. [[HIGHLIGHT]]A comfortable, easy place to grab a tasty casual meal.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

One of the best and freshest meals I've had. Ordered the vegetarian tostadas and they are loaded! If you want a true culinary experience for an amazing price this is the place. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Both food and staff are on point and the place has a relaxing vibe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Coming back again!

The streets were jam packed on July 4th weekend and the lot was nearly full. We somehow managed to get the last parking spot though! There was a little bit of seating outside and inside for those waiting for a table, which I really appreciate since I broke my leg a few months ago. The staff seemed nice enough too. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We had the option of sitting inside or outside, so we sat inside. The booth seats were super comfy![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I got the breakfast burrito with a mimosa. The portion sizes were a bit smaller than I was expecting, but the flavor was good. You really can't go wrong with a breakfast burrito after all! I would definitely come back again if I'm ever in the area again.

Came here with my sister, and the service was really good, came on a Sunday morning at 11:00am not crazy busy , we got sat right away. I got the egg white omelette and she got the chorizo and egg. It was so delicious! Deff coming back! Thank you so much for the yummy food :)!

Went to Eat Chow last night for dinner- amazing service, [[HIGHLIGHT]]chill atmosphere[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]], and the food was amazing! I tried the ribeye thai salad and it was incredible. The ribeye was flavorful and tender, the herbs brought a perfect touch of freshness, and the salad dressing really tied the whole dish together- I'd highly recommend! My wife got the ahi sandwich and was equally pleased! Thanks Eat Chow:)

Does anyone know what time they stop serving brunch?

3 pm on Saturdays and Sundays

What are your vegan options that equate to a meal?

Are there many out door tables?

Depends on what you consider as "many". We have been there several times and have been seated within a few minutes. There are approximately 10-12 tables from what I recall.

    Is your patio dog friendly?

    HI Cassie, Yes, 100%

Do we have to make reservations? - ok thank you all for your help! I'm excited to try it out! :)

They do not take reservations, the last time I checked!

    Is there dine in now?

Yes, come in we look forward to seeing you!

    What time is brunch over?

3pm at the Newport Beach location

Gluten free options? What are they? Thank you

Hi Alex, yes we do have gluten free options!

Is there parking on site or nearby?

Yes, there is a small parking lot in front and you can park in the adjacent parking lot during the day!

    Do they allow dogs?

If you sit outside at the location on Newport Blvd.

Do they do bottomless mimosas for brunch?

HI Allie! We offer them during the week (Mon-Fri) at all 3 locations!

Have you ever bitten into the chow patty melt and had this amazing sauce grease combo drip down your chin?

Yup, sure have and I think I saw god when I did

I was mildly disappointed with a few things, though. The lobster roll was delicious and definitely the highlight of the meal. The chips were just okay. My latte, unfortunately, was one of the worst I've had... it tasted like milk with just a splash of coffee. The staff was very kind and happily replaced it with an Americano, which was much better. One inconvenience was the restroom situation. The closest bathrooms were by the lighthouse, which is a bit of a walk. I only wanted to rinse the lobster off my fingers, so I ended up using a glass of water outside instead. The service was friendly and accommodating, and the food had some strong points, but the disappointing coffee and lack of convenient restrooms kept this from being a higher-rated experience. I would give it a 3.5 star but since its not allowed, the experience was pleasant enough for a 4. Prices were decent id say

A perfect restaurant for a night out!…read more I would honestly give a 5/5 in all areas to The Dock, the food was exquisite and the staff were all very friendly and attentive. The space is a bit small but very lovely and you can see the harbor right from where you eat. There's even a private walkway you can go to and take pictures or enjoy the scenery. We got the halibut, scallops, lamb, duck, and (not pictured here) the soup de jour which, for us, was the gazpacho. Overall I would say everything was a delight to eat, everything was tender, juicy, and had just the right amount of sauce and toppings. For me, the soup was the stand out though, one of the best gazpachos I've ever had and I'm not usually a cold soup kind of person. The dock is an upscale seafood restaurant that I believe may use French inspired techniques? Which I would say is the only critique I could have of it. Everything was so tender and perfect, some dishes started feeling a little one note (a very very good note though). There were a variety of ingredients that came on all the plates that, but felt like they never veered far enough to create a more interesting balance for the palate. A classic complaint of my steak too juicy, my lobster too buttery. But technique-wise everything was executed perfectly but I would say if you are more of an adventurous eater you should definitely talk to your waiter/waitress and ask for their advice. Would definitely recommend for any special occasion or if you want enjoy the most fork (dare I even say, spoon) tender meal of your life.

We kicked off dinner with a round of drinks: an espresso martini with a nice touch of cinnamon, a refreshing margarita, a tall draft beer, and a tequila margarita. Brought a friend and her family here to celebrate a milestone birthday on a Saturday afternoon…read more We were really hoping to sit in the patio, or at least near it but, unfortunately we were sat at a booth alongside the interior wall. Totally understandable as it's peak summer, and a weekend, they get busy. The restaurant was hot and humid. Now I'm sure they have AC, and even with all the windows and patio doors being open, they really should have opted to use the AC. The entire dining experience was uncomfortable. We ate our meal literally sweating. Even our server was sweating lol All our drinks went room temp in a matter of 10 minutes, we had to repeatedly ask for glasses of ice from the bar just to try and mitigate our body temperatures somehow. Also, the booth itself was incredibly tacky. And I don't mean visually tacky, I mean the texture. The feeling of plastic when it gets really old and it feels sticky to the touch, that tacky. You couldn't slide in or out of that booth if your life depended on it. And again, considering how humid and hot the interior was, it only made it worse. The lighting was also so dim that it gave the vibes of being sat in the corner of a musky Denny's diner lol. Halfway through our meal they turned the lights off for dinner service (I get it, to set the mood) but it made the table so dark we had to ask them to turn them back on so we could see the food on our plates. It wasn't that the entire restaurant was dim, it's certain tables (and sadly ours was definitely one of them) We had a party of 6, and one person got their meal well before the rest of the table. We of course insisted she begin eating, which she did, and our remaining meals came out as soon as she was done with hers. The waiter removed her plate as he set down everyone else's lol. The food was good, but, again with how uncomfortable the environment was, it was hard to enjoy. The restaurant was also fairly empty throughout our meal. We got there before 5 so that awkward "linner" time frame. Even so, we had to flag down our waiter for another round of drinks, water, etc. The Shorebird absolutely has stunning views, and that's what they're known for. Their food is solid, mist dishes fairly justifies the high price point. This visit was just not their best. Overall service and ambiance, fell extremely flat. I set the bar high for my guests, as they traveled in from out of town and I raved about my experience from a few months back. Granted, I was sat at the patio, overlooking the beautiful view, and the service was impeccable. With all the stellar dining options in Newport, unless you find yourself at a table on the balcony, I don't think Shorebird is the obvious choice. You'll end up spending the money regardless so you may as well look for a spot that is guaranteed to meet the expectations of the price point without having to be dependent on a view.

It's waterfront and can be accessed via the boardwalk (it's behind the street-side shops). Parking can be tough and very expensive - you'll likely have to park in the structure and walk over. Make sure to take your ticket with you for validation. Seating is available inside and outside on their covered patio. Plenty of space for parties of all sizes. I was pleasantly surprised by how easy it was to make a same-day reservation for a Sunday afternoon. They had plenty of open seating even when we got there. Tables were very dirty. They have a lot of work to do - it seems like months if not years of food, dust, and salty moist air mixed together and collected in the creases in the tables, on the walls, etc.. It's like a sticky gross residue that never gets completely clean. Many people like to dress nice in the area but honestly I would hate to wear something nice here out of fear it would get dirty. We also required new plates as ours had old food stuck to them. Service was not great. Our waiter was somewhat attentive but not nice - the poor guy seemed miserable like he hated his job and did not want to be there. Despite the restaurant being full, he wouldn't come by often when we actually needed something - he even disappeared towards the end and a new waiter had to help us. Food is delicious. Besides the location, their saving grace. We tried the sandwiches and yummy! Fries were also delicious with the spicy mayo. Love the different options they have, overall. They also had some great looking food on the brunch and drinks section of the menu. You can scan the QR code at the table to see pictures of each menu item. Overall was good and we'll be back every once in a while because we love Lido. Will try sitting inside in hopes the tables are decent. Really hope management makes some improvements though!
