I loved Easy Tiger in the past. There was a bike night here my husband invited me to. Thought ok... the other Easy Tiger locations were cool vibe, lets try it. Server greeted us quickly, provided menus, told us where water station was. Got our drink orders. He got a draft beer, I got the lavender lemonade. The lemonade was delicious! Very refreshing, light, and tasty- slightly boozed. The waitress came back repeatedly for our food order. Too many times. Like 4 in under 10 minutes. We weren't really there for food and at some point she should have picked up on that, but ok. We did decide to eat, since we would be getting home late for dinner. He ordered the Eastside burger. I tried to order the pastrami but they were out. Ordered the Prosciutto baguette instead. We added waffle fries to our orders. Sadly $4 extra per plate for FRIES. The sandwich and the burger are $12-$14 and that DOES NOT include anything. No fries, no salad, no sides. Sad. The food came out in a decent amount of time. Burger looked good. Husband said it was good. My baguette was awful. I wanted it to be good. But the bread was so hard it was difficult to get a bite off of, let alone chew. At one point the roughness of it ripped the top of my mouth open and I was bleeding. The worst part of that bloody mess was that our server and every server that passed us, didn't bring us napkins. I took the top off the bread and used soft part to mop up blood. I ate the inside of the sandwich instead. The waffle fries were overcooked and semi hard. Food just not at all good for me. Our server closed us out at the table. What myself as a service industry person, with POS experience did not like is she didn't tell me or show me the total or bill. This place is such a hidden gem. I came because I was really craving a pretzel and Easy Tiger definitely delivered! The pretzel was so warm and soft on the inside and the outside was just salty enough. The mustard was a bit too salty for my liking, I would pass on it next time, but the pretzel didn't need any condiment, it was delicious on its own. Unfortunately they only have outdoor seating right now but they have heat lamps which make the cold bearable. The staff are super covid cautious, wiping down every table. My job has our first happy hour here and it was a success!the outdoor patio area was beautiful and equipped with so many fans to keep us cool! We were a catered event so we had a tub of brussel sprouts & sausages, along with cookies, and charcuterie boards. The food was good but the best thing there was truly the bread! This location was good. It was raining and packed inside so we were persuaded to sit outside. We needed up moving to a table where the rain mist wasn't hitting us and the heaters were on outside so it was comfortable but to be fair we were wearing out rain jackets and shoes. Otherwise it would have been a little chilly. We ordered pretty quickly and we sat at a huge table by ourselves which I liked. Our waiter was decent. At one point he took the menus and didn't check up on us and we had to get up and request extra syrup and then he came back to say his shift was ending and do we mind closing out. It's fine but it's the little things. Food was good. The amount of French toast was so much my 19 year old couldn't finish it, so the serving size was gigantic. The hash was delicious but could have used something to cut through the richness like a salsa or fresh fruit but it was delicious and I'd order again. We had a friends night out and this was the venue that our friends selected for us to get together at. Easy Tiger has been on my "places to try" list since I have lived in Austin and I have just never made it here. So when our friends picked this as our friends night out spot I was supper psyched! The tables are picnic style and you can easily sit 8 to 10 at a section... so plenty of room. The server came out and if I had anything to pick on about our night out it would be that our server had zero personality. She was prompt, she took our orders, got our food out,and everything, but the whole time she didn't say much at all... and when she did it was with zero personality that ended up almost bordering on rude. It wasn't horrible... or even bad... it was just very close to complete indifference. That however could not derail the experience that was to be! From the start my expectations were exceeded. The beer selection is awesome! Lots of on tap brews to choose from. (See pic of menu)Then there are the artisan cocktails... again great selection of mad chemist concoctions to discombobulate your motor functions and ensure maximum silliness. The pretzel is freshly made and comes out hot, with a crispy "crust", and a chewy center just like a good pretzel should. The beer cheese is ... ohhh MY Goddie, way Too Hottie!! I've been here twice with a pretty large group (15-20 people), and while food and drinks are good, both times we had servers who only came to the table once to take orders. I've been to the South Lamar location with a large group, and the server came by several times. We had the grazing board, curry cauliflower, and beyond sausage. I wasn't crazy about the cheese board but I'm quiet picky about cheese. The apple chutney that came with it was devine and the board ended up being more filling than we anticipated. The cauliflower was incredibly unique. It was a massive peice of cauliflower seated in a beet red curry sauce. Everything about it suprised me: it was cold, the color was so strange, the flavors were authentic. Fun vibe. It was Octoberfest in Austin. AWESOME. I was homesick for Octoberfest in NYC. I found my place in Austin. Moving forward I will never mention the name of this place ever. That is how annoyed I am. Got to the outside bar by 4 pm or so. The bartender was super nice and knowledgeable. Ordered a couple of beers after sampling a taste. Ordered sausage. Heaven. Beers were good. Cajun chicken sausage my wife liked. My bratwurst, very tasty. Why 1 star you ask. The journey continues. The bartender told me that I could order more beer and food from all the servers hustling around. They were working hard. Why again you ask, one star. I went to buy some bread in the bakery. Yes, a bakery. Awesome. Bought two baguettes for $3.50 each. Left two dollars as a tip. I was feeling generous today. The staff was working hard. As I approached my table my wife ordered a couple of beers from a young man with a beard and glasses. Very nice guy. Asked him how much when he returned with our beers. Told me $13. I gave him a $20 and said thank you. The guy was very appreciative. Why again you ask, one star. The young lady who brought us a couple of napkins when I requested them stopped by. I wanted to give her some business and give her a tip. Ask for another couple of beers, a menu and ice. I never saw her again. Another server brought by the beers. Great teamwork. Why again you ask, one star. Like an idiot, I waited and waited until she returned. I wanted to give her a tip. Nowhere to be found. After a half-hour or so, this sucker said enough. Let's go. My wife flagged down a server. Asked for the original server and the check for the two beers. Tells me no problem. Tells me $25.43. I said for two beers. Then another amount from another table. Still not the right check. I did not want to leave without paying. Finally, I was given an amount of $12.45. Now, I am beginning to lose it. I informed the server that I had the same round as the second. I was charged $13 for the second and now $12.45. This 61-year-old man is not buying it. I just said OK. Gave her a $20 and thank you. Server said, don't you want your change. No. Just thank you. I will get a manager. No. Just thank you and goodnight. I go to the bar and pay my tab; $34 and change. Gave her $10 tip and a thank you. Now the manager gets involved with the check where I wanted to give the server a $7 tip. I get questioned. Don't you want your change? No. Just thank you. I just wanted to leave. Go home, but this manager with a beard and glasses continue questioning me why I did not want my change. Maybe, I am overreacting. I just wanted to pay my bill. Leave a tip. And leave. I spent $93 and did not care. Just don't charge me one price and then another. By the way, the server could not find the check. I have 35 years plus of hospitality experience with the last 15 as a GM. Management ask yourself how does a server get drinks without a dupe check at the bar? It's mostly outdoor seating on benches so to be honest, comfort is not the priority but the super long tables make it easy to have large groups seated together and you can bring some games to play. If you like beers and bread, this is certainly the place for you. They have a decent list of beers and their bakery makes really good bread and pastries and are the primary food items on the menu but you can also buy loaves to take home. If you are lucky, your table might get a loaf of bread for free on a slow night. They also support sobriety and have alcohol-free cocktails. Comfortable open German beer hall style spot. Came here on a Saturday night and had no issue getting a spacious spot for a large group. Also the fan most coverage was a huge for an outdoor bar in the Texas heat. They have a stellar beer selection, mostly local options but a wide variety of types to please almost any taste. Even at the outside tables there's wait staff who had no problem handling a large number of individual checks. I would say the food was above average when compared to typical bar grub, but I wouldn't recommend coming here looking for a meal. I shared the large pretzel with beer cheese with a friend, the cheese tasted like melted kraft Mac and cheese with a little pepper in it and the pretzel itself was nothing memorable. I also tried the Cajun chicken sausage, it had a nice peppery flavor on its own. The creole cream cheese sounded like an interesting addition, but it had more of a whipped cream flavor to it than I was expecting and overall didn't add much. I wasn't disappointed with the taste by any means, but for a 9$ sausage expect it to be either huge or have an absolutely phenomenal flavor. We decided to try this place for a birthday brunch and weren't disappointed. There were 7 of us and we arrived around 11am on Sunday. The tables inside can fit maybe six comfortably and you can't push tables together, so we chose to sit at the longer tables outside. They have a really cool outside space with open seating, a bar, and some games. It was a great space for bigger groups or families. There was a dog meet up going on at the same time that took up half the space, but everyone fit comfortably. They have authentic German food selections and a wide variety of coffee, teas, and baked goods. Our table ordered the French toast bites, avocado toast, and the breakfast sandwich with bacon. The portions are a bit on the smaller side, especially if you're used to Texas sized portions, but the food was delicious. The small order of French toast bites had 5 pieces, while the large had 7. We all debated whether it was worth the extra cost to only get two extra small pieces. The service was also mediocre at best. A couple of our drinks came out wrong, but they corrected it. There were different waitresses stopping by and it took a long time for anything to be brought out.
