I like this place. Solid Chinese American dishes. My basic standard is the wonton soup. If you're giving me wontons with hard meat and flavorless broth, I don't have high hopes for anything else. This place serves a very important function in my life. It provides very quick delivery for when I am hungry, lazy and indecisive. I mean, I basically literally click repeat order on yelp and 20 min later I have some food at my door. Never hassle, never drama, order is always correct and consistent. My order is always some variation of snow peas or eggplant with garlic, something seafood, egg drop soup and maybe something comforting like lo Mein or BBQ pork spare ribs. I particularly like the shrimp and veggie dishes since they are somewhat healthy compared to other options. Also, the dishes are not overly greasy or anything, so I like that. Although, I do have a weakness for the BBQ pork spareribs, which are not healthy by any stretch of any imagination, but they are addictively good. Can't stay much about Eastern other than I got a pretty good fish sandwich there. Came stumbling in after midnight on a Friday night and they were still open serving their full menu item. Place is a standard carryout, nothing to look at and nothing special but with all the standards of Americanized Chinese food and also such staples and french fries, chicken wings, various subs. I ordered take-out spring rolls, egg rolls, shrimp lo mein, chicken with black bean, and chicken with broccoli. I started with the shrimp lo mein. The shredded celery, scallions and carrots tasted fresh and the shrimp were small to medium size and there were many shrimp throughout, almost every bite. I highly recommend. Spring rolls were ok, very small, I may pass on on these in the future. Egg rolls were a bit more substantial with mostly cabbage filling but tasty. They gave me brown rice that was fresh on request. I LOVE Eastern Carryout. It's not that it's the best food you'll ever have. It's not that they have the most amazing service of all time. It's the fact that it's always there for me when I'm hungry. Although it's technically a Chinese takeout restaurant, I have only gotten Chinese food here twice. My go-to meal is actually their gyro sandwich, which is delicious. When my fiancé and I order here, we'll get two sandwiches, an order of chicken tenders, mozzarella sticks, and crab rangoons (which are free if you spend more than $20 on Eat24.) That entire meal is less than $30 after delivery and tip. The food reheats surprisingly well, which justifies putting in such a gluttonous order. I love crab rangoons, and these are delicious. The food is consistently good, and if you order for pickup, they're pretty quick too. A great go-to place for nights when you just want to eat some good greasy food. read more
