    3 Piece Shrimp Dumpling
    Mellanie F.

This was a "small plate" all-you-can-eat situation -- and honestly, the price was good for how much food you get. Everything came out quick, and the service was solid. Only thing is, the space gets tight. With how popular this spot is, they might wanna think about expanding.

Still a 5! Recently stopped in for my birthday. This time I indulged in the all you can eat and drink. A few of my faves: Scallion pancake- so crisp and savory Seafood fried rice- loaded with crab meat, shrimp and scallop. So yummy Chicken egg rolls-hot and crisp! Soup dumplings-still delicious! Shrimp dumplings- nicely sized and deelish. Singapore noodles-packed with flavor! I also took advantage of the 18.00 all you can drink lemon drops. I didnt switch to any of the other options. Note that there is a 2hr limit per table. And if you go with the all you can eat option, the whole table has to do so as well. They also offered to go boxes for 5 if you'd like to carry out leftovers from your all you can eat feast. They will continue to be on my must visit list when in DC!

If you like all you can eat Chinese food with bottomless cocktails for $18 dollars, then Han Palace is the the place to be. Stopped through on a Thursday afternoon to capitalize on the bottomless lemon drop and Mai tai deal. There is a 2 hour dining limit. Also if a majority of your party chooses to do the all you can eat option, the whole table has to participate. And also the lemon drops do pack a punch so drink responsibly and they staff will keep filling your glass. The food was delicious, their dim sum was really good, great soup dumplings and veggie dumplings. The scallion pancakes were nice and crispy. Their entrees are really fresh and flavorful. Fan faves were the Singapore rice noodles, seafood fried rice snd their lo mein. Staff was quick and efficient. Will definitely return when I'm in the area

Came for the bottomless drinks, left full as hell! I'll start by saying this place is super small on the inside so large groups aren't ideal. I have three stars because upon arriving, 3 different workers came up to us to ask if we were dining in and how many we had. We had 6 people and once they heard that, they made a face and walked off and never came back to give a wait time or ask if we wanted to sit outside. Finally, when the next person asked, I told them we'd be fine sitting outside although it just finished storming. Happy hour was about to end and that's what we came for. Now once we were sat, we were cooking with hot grease. The bottomless lemon drops kept coming and the food was really good. My favorite dish was the Singapore noodles. Our server Stacey was so funny and made sure our glasses weren't empty long. I'll be back for sure. Hopefully logistics are worked out.

My friends and I were looking for Peking duck and Han Palace was nearby. This restaurant is pretty small but they have a large bar area. Han Palace offers a buffet style menu and a la carte. We went with a la cart since we weren't super hungry, and I'm so glad we did. The buffet option wouldn't have been worth it. We ordered some dishes to share: -Fried Eggplant: A huge disappointment. It was not like other eggplant dishes we typically order at other Chinese or Sichuan restaurants. It covered in a thick batter with a dark and overly sweet sauce. We had a few bites and didn't touch the rest of it. This did not taste authentic at all. -Peking Duck: Not bad, some of the skin was pretty crispy. However, the wrap was thick and lukewarm, which made the experience subpar. -Pork and Shrimp Wonton Soup: The soup was light and came with Chinese broccoli. The wontons didn't taste fresh. I was unimpressed. Before we visited the restaurant, I was most excited about the purple egg yolk buns. But after our experience with the entrees, I didn't trust that it would be good, which was pretty disappointing. TLD: Han Palace was mid.

We did the all you can eat option a+b I personally think it was over price considering I would be eating the same food in AYCE Chinese buffet minus the Peking duck. Service was fast though and 20% gratuity is added regardless if you only have less than 4 people

It was an incredible experience at Han Palace with their tasting menu. The decor was beautiful, and the food was fresh, yet somehow came out fast. We never waited more than 10 minutes for food to come out. Our server was also the Bartender, which made it a little difficult to get his attention at times, but he did his best. The food was well seasoned but after a while we felt like we needed somethingsweet after so much salt. Will def come back and share the experience with more loves ones.

I've been here a couple times now and it's pretty decent. Service is good, and the food is fresh. It is definitely on the pricy, small side for dim sum but it's well done. The place is small, so hard with a big group but we did come with a group of 12 once and took up the whole back part. They have some big set menus. I haven't tried anything much outside of dim sum so can't speak on the other lunch/dinner options.

Seafood Fried Rice with Dry Scallop

This might be a local favorite! My family has Chinese every New Year's Eve and this year we were late at making reservations so I hopped on Yelp to find a last minute spot. I can across Han Palace Barracks Row and it did not disappoint! We ordered spring rolls as an appetizers, seafood fried rice with dry scallop, and the crispy beef. We thoroughly enjoyed both of our entrees but the spring rolls were basic. We had cocktails but just a gin & tonic and tequila soda water. The server couldn't tell us what type of gin and tequila they had so we walked to the bar to check it out ourselves. While the food was good and the space itself is cool - not very large but not small either. The service is good but the server we had was very pushy and rushed us a bit with placing orders then she would come back to ask what we wanted because she forgot. She was friendly though so I'll give her that.

Got the Option A AYCE dimsum and it was great! The two of us ate 3 orders of soup dumplings, one order pan fried pork dumpling, shumai, 5 BBQ pork buns, beef noodle soup, congee, scallion pancakes, stir fried lomein, two orders duck egg yolk buns for 100.32! Servers were attentive and food comes out very fast. Good meal.

I've been seeing Han Palace all over SM and been wanting to check it out for awhile. My friend and I got here a little after 9 pm Friday night and it was packed inside. I wasn't too sure we'd get a table, but luckily there was an empty 2 person table they directed us to. It's very tight in here and you can practically hear people's conversations, but I was just glad to be seated. Our waitress was quick to let us know the kitchen closes at 930 pm, and if we want to order, we need to do so soon. I understood, so my friend and I quickly put in our order. We got soup dumplings, spring roll, scallion pancakes, general tso chicken, and chicken fried rice. The food came out shortly after we ordered. First, the dim sum options and then the entrees. Everting was hot like it just came off the pan. And it was tasty! My favorite was probably the rice and general tso chicken, although I would say the rice is on the salty side. I think the price was fairly reasonable but they do add 20% gratuity regardless of the service. What's interesting is I checked their website earlier and on the bottom in very fine print it says 20% gratuity for groups of 4 or more so I'm not sure why my friend and I were charged 20% when it was just two of us. Outside of this, I think it was still good food and I'd want to try their all you can eat option next time.

Service was great and the food was good. Just want a fan of the general tos chicken or the kung pao..

Ambiance: 4.5/5 Quality of food: 4/5 Service: 5/5 This spot has a lot going for it, especially for Eastern Market area! The ambiance is fantastic--small, cozy, and inviting, perfect for a relaxed meal. The service is impressively fast, which is always a big plus. The food is good, but slightly overpriced for what it is. Flavor-wise, I'd give it a solid 4/5. While it's not the most authentic, the dishes are still comforting and enjoyable. Some flavors could be a bit bolder and less Americanized, but that hasn't stopped me from returning. I've gotten their duck noodles, Peking duck, buns, rice, and noodles.

Is the bottomless drinks and food specials on weekends too?

I believe so. I went on a Saturday. But the drinks aren't bottomless anymore. You only get a max of 4 drinks now.

    Open on Thanksgiving day?

Yes, we will be open on thanksgiving

Is dim sum available for dinner?

It’s all day and is avail lunch and dinner

Do they serve turnip cakes, and soy sauce fried noodles?

Do they take reservations? And if so, how do you make one? Their phone doesn't seem to work.

They don't take reservations unfortunately. The Hans barrack location is small so I'd try to get their earlier rather than later.

The Crab Wontons were out, the jeau lanh (sp?) was not bad, but not that great, the char siu pork was my favorite, but the fried rice and noodles were not cooked at a high enough temperature to taste remotely authentic. In my first visit to Maketto, I came for their dim sum lunch on the weekend, and even though I had high expectations coming in, it met my every desire. We started with the pork steamed bao, and man it didn't disappoint. With a hoisin sauce spread on the plate and plenty of hoisin sauce flavoring the pork, this homemade beauty was my favorite of the lot. Having eaten so many bao buns in my past, this one stood out among many I've eaten across Asia. We also ordered the Xaio Long Bao, the Cambodian Noodle Soup, and the Rice Roll with Shrimp. The star of these was the Rice Roll w/shrimp. The shrimp was excellent, the Rice Roll itself was perfect and the toppings and sauce made me want to order more. The Cambodian Noodle Soup was great as well. True to form, we had it with the chicken and it was a perfect encapsulation of the Cambodian soups that I so loved when visiting. Service was good, but most importantly the food came out piping hot. A must with this style of cuisine. The only exception was the Xaio Long Bao, but that could have been due to the sauce cooling the dumplings. As for ambiance, it is a unique model as it is a coffee shop before 11, and then a restaurant and coffee shop after 11. We came around 11:30 and it was in between selling out of all their pop-up pastries and ramping up the kitchen. I will be back, many times indeed.

So my friend was telling me that the restaurant used to be half retail store and half restaurant. I'm sure I would've wanted to come in here just to browse all the time because they're definitely trendy and in tune with the culture. Now to my experience. I tried their fried chicken wings and the lo mein. Both are medium plates and large portions. Between my friend and I we were stuffed at the end of dinner and still took some food to-go. All of their dishes come family style and they are not skimping you with the portions. The food was all fresh and soooo flavorful! Kudos to chef Erik, who also owns/created Providencia up the street. I'm so excited to come back to try more because everything sounds delicious. One little word of advice is to check if the restaurant has a private event booked before heading over. That's on us for not researching, though. But, since we were there, we opted to stay for lunch upstairs. Downstairs was closed long-term for what I hope is remodeling. Even in December, it felt colder inside the upstairs restrooms than outside! But, given that we were the ONLY people in the place at noon on a Saturday, I guess they are trying to cut costs where possible. We wound up being joined by about six other tables in total while we were there, fortunately! The food was as good as I remember, despite the lack of Dim Sum. We did have a few apps to try and make up for it (shrimp dumplings, scallion pancake, spring rolls, wonton soup). They were all pretty darn good, I must say! For entrees, we went with just two, since we were already getting a bit full. We ordered the Ma Bo (ma po) Tofu and the Mu Shi Pork (with the pancakes). Both were flavorful and filling. My only complaint on the Ma Bo was that they used very silken tofu instead of a firm one. I do not admit to being an expert on the dish, but I was the only one of the three of us who didn't find the texture off-putting. But, that being said, the ground pork and sauce itself were very good, so not too bad overall. The service was okay. Our first server, older gent, seemed like he did not want to be there that day. He didn't seem rude or mad, just... sad. Like, the weight of a thousand bad days in row, kind-of-sad. But, the entire staff served every table, so it was one of those setups. That always seems to work better, I think. The drinks? Well, let's just say, one was enough! They have a menu of very colorful "tiki-era" libations, like the Suffering B*st*rd and the Scorpion Sting. We had one of each, and both were delicious and powerful in their own ways. There is basically very little parking nearby, though they are about a half a block from a Metro stop at Gallery Place - Chinatown. So, their location is wonderful! But, the downstairs being closed, the upstairs in desperate need of renovations, and the outside to match, it was somewhat of a letdown. I really hope they come back to full strength soon, because memories of Tony Cheng's back in the day are what keep me going when I have a craving for some Dim Sum!
