This place is always very lively everytime I walk pass by after 5pm, regardless of whether it's summer or winter time. We went in during a Friday afternoon for a quick round of drinks, which also happen to be the day where there's 2 dollar off signature cocktail (every Friday). Instead of getting different cocktails we got a pitcher of lime mojito (menu gives it a pretty name - big spoon 4 servings). Although the menu said one serving each has one ounce of alcohol, it's very light, almost like drinking lime juice. Not going to order this if we come back again. We also ordered four shots of fruit hoops, which is bright red in colour and very sweet, just the way I like my alcohol! Unlike usual bars, there are long benches and long tables, where people just bring in their laptop and work. read more

My boyfriend and I recently had a fabulous meal at Earl's during our trip to Toronto. We'd been unable to get a spot for dinner during the week, so on our last morning we decided to stop by right when they opened to see about a table for lunch. (After walking by what looked like such a cute place going to and from our hotel all week, we really didn't want to miss out.) Thankfully they were able to seat us on one of the few patio tables they had open. I started with a cosmo and he had a spicy margarita. We shared an order of hot wings as an appetizer. The wings came out quickly and were very crispy, which we both loved. I had the hamburger with sweet potato fries and he had the bacon cheeseburger with truffle fries. I have a dairy allergy, so the attention the staff and management paid to that from start to finish was really meaningful. I was checked on multiple times and made to feel very safe. (Side note, the vegan and gluten free bun they offer is phenomenal!) Our burgers were absolutely delicious and just the right amount of food. Some places really make burgers into a monstrosity, so we both appreciated the reasonable portion sizes given that we were about to take a long drive home. Overall we were so happy we fit in lunch at Earl's before leaving the city, and we will certainly come back next time we're in the area. Thank you! read more

I was delightfully surprised when I was brought to Earls by my girlfriend. We were sat outside in late October which I thought was a little odd as the temperature began to drop. Our waitress came, and took our drink order and left. After waiting 40 minutes with our drinks to order we began to freeze, our obvious look for attention managed to grab another staff member to ask us if everything was okay, she happily moved us inside and we were then served by a fantastic waitress Molly. She was very attentive and cared about our experience. She got our food out to us quickly. The food was amazing and I'm glad we chose to stick around. Big thanks to Molly and Shaun, for ensuring a pleasant evening. read more

I've been to Earls several times for drinks, dinner, and brunch. What separates Earls from other Toronto restaurants is the reasonable pricing and great ambiance. BRUNCH: They have a "Brunch Happy Hour" which prices the menu items at an incredible cheap price. We ordered the Avocado Toast & the Chicken & Waffles. The Chicken & Waffles was pretty disappointing. The chicken was bland and dry. It definitely needed some more flavour that didn't come from the syrup, which was also average. The Avocado Toast was yummy. Lots of avocado but a relatively small portion and my boyfriend was not full from this. The mimosas are $5! DINNER: I enjoy dinner here due to how quiet it is on the dining side. My favorites are the Margherita Pizza & finishing with their very delicious Sticky Toffee Chocolate Pudding which is described as: warm pudding cake, chocolate and toffee sauces, with vanilla ice cream, candy snap. The service ranges from okay to great. The front and bar side is always a little chaotic. The dining side is a little quieter with waiters being somewhat more attentive. read more

Visited this spot a few days ago with a large group. The ambiance is chill, with lounge vibes but it has outdoor and indoor seating with plenty of space. There is a space for reservations and open seating, but the open seating space was larger and made more sense to be incorporated into the other portion of the restaurant. But, the food! Ordered a 10oz New York Strip, and it was pure bliss. Perfectly cooked meat with velvety mashed potatoes is the way to go. I also got the blackened spuce sauce over the top, but I think the peppercorn is better. Most importantly, our waitress was the best I've had in Toronto. She knew everything about the menu and wines to pair with our meals. And, she was patient with us splitting the bill. If you get Brianna as your server, you're in good hands. read more

We had an absolutely rubbish experience when we booked for a part of 15. The entire party stood waiting for an hour as they make a mix up with our reservation. Luckily I had emails to show tot he guests waiting so they could finally get a table. The issue with this experience can go on and on but I never left a bad review at the time as the restaurant apologized and wanted to make up for the bad experience at anytime, with no expiration to the offer. I reached out to use our offer last month and no one was willing to assist and rather made me send them the original email to understand the issue. After multiple follow ups they said I should hear back with a gift card in a few days. It's been a month now and a few follow ups but they have chosen to fully disregard my email. Not sure how this is considered making up for a bad experience. It shows how much they care about customer experience. Clearly do not trust the service and do not trust the management on expecting to do any make up for you, should your experience be as bad as ours. read more

Let's talk. I had this place in mind for MONTHS and I went in July 2022. Earl's is SEXY inside. Fuego interior. Ambience is 10000%. Everyone inside there just looks Fuego cause the lighting hits ALL your good spots. Yup yup. Book a table. Walking in is a mess. With a Panasonic still happening, best to book seats so you aren't stressing. Just go on their website. Knocked off a star cause it's LOUD as hell. I had to yell to talk to the person across me. I got tinnitus so maybe that is why I had to yell? Who knows? So I'm gonna be real - fellas, ladies. If you wanna take your DATE here, not a good idea. Especially if they're shy or soft spoken. Vocal cords will rip by the end of the day Price is okay. It's like any other place (Moxies, Milestones, Scaddabush). Their calamari is FIRE. Like good. Not spicy. Just good LOL Washrooms are singles - so the girlies and guys can pose, take pics, floss or do what they need without having to worry about the next person beside them judging. I love me a single washroom so I had to mention it here Overall, 4/5 cause yeah it's HELLA loud. Yes I know it's a bar but yo. read more

A popular after-work location in the downtown core.. Luckily, we had made reservations and didn't have to join the waiting crowds for a table. They have an extensive drinks list, and the waiters are happy to point out options if your poison of choice isn't available. The Bees Knees signature cocktail caught my eye, mostly due to the incredibly cute cup. Unfortunately, the drink itself is quite small (like the height of a juice box) so I probably won't order it again. I tried out their Cajun Prawns with Garlic Bread as a light dinner (tt's meant as an appetizer). Around 10 prawns come charred in a spicy slightly-smoky sauce with a large wedge of fluffy bread on the side. They paired well together, and a squeeze of lime on top helped to brighten the heavier flavors. The space is dimly lit, with leather chairs, wood tables, and rustic rope details as accents. Loud music drowns out the crowds, but also makes it hard to hold a conversation. We spent most of the night yelling over the music to hear each other. So either sit close together or keep the conversation between the people next to you, otherwise you will have a sore voice by the end of the night. Also, there are drink specials everyday of the week, so check it out on a day that works for you. read more

Delicious and very nice atmosphere. Reasonably priced and service was good. I highly recommend the ribs!

We walked by Earl's while looking for some place for an after dinner drink... I got sucked in when I saw the patios with comfy seatings and the heat lamps.... I ran in so fast and so my fellow yelpers don't have a chance to change their mind!! Friendly hostess asked inside or out? I screamed OUTSIDE... so apparently outside is first come first serve. Drinks Specials everyday.. Tuesday Bellini special.. Bellini please and even the guys ended up drinking one of those.... Good friends, good conservations, cheap drinks and cool patios......... Life is good! It helps when our waitress was pretty, witty and quick!! She gave us a split bill without us requesting! read more

I had an errand to do in the Financial District a couple of weeks ago and I passed by Earl's. Everyone in the joint seemed to be having a jolly good old time on the patio, so I decided that I would come back to see what all the hype was about. Came here tonight for a Saturday night dinner. My friend called about reservations on Monday and was told that they were completely booked. Hardly the case. We walked in and waited for 20 minutes to sit in the dining room. The waiting period gave us an opportunity to look around the entire restaurant. Decor of the place is really nice. The lounge area is an open concept w huge screens to watch sports (I guess?). The patio is spacious with heaters so you don't freeze your derriere while sitting there. In spite of the consistent theme of open and spacious going on here, the dining room was a little crowded and tight to maneuver. The Food: Grilled Chicken and Brie Sandwich w French Fries Love the idea. Grilled chicken, brie, apple slices, garlic mayo, spinach and fig jam sandwiched in between a ciabatta bun. Good idea and potential to be a kick a$$ meal. Sadly, it was way too oily. I had to keep wiping my hands as oil kept dripping on to my plate. Service was ok. Initial contact w the server took a long time. I have to give kudos to the manager. She noticed this and got us drinks on the house. Nice place with mediocre, reasonably priced food in a swanky neighborhood. A solid 3 star. read more

I was in this restaurant 2 times on different occasions. Both times I had steak. The first time I ordered medium and got a well done so I had to send it back. It came medium well the second time although we agreed that it would be better closer to rare, at this point I didn't want to send it back and just ate it. The appetizer wings was good and beer was excellent. The second time I ordered surf and turf. The steak I asked for was medium and it was done exactly like I asked. Very tasty with some nice asparagus and mash potatoes on the side plus a lobster tail which was excellent. Appetizers were some new lobster dish and spinach and 3 cheese dip with chips. Both of these were very tasty. Coconut margarita was nothing special, I wish I had beer instead. The service was good both times. But the second time was better. If not for the second time experience I would give this place not more than 2 stars for the bad steak. But second time completely changed my experience. So I will give it 4 stars with hope next time I come my steak will be as it was during my second visit. read more

I would describe Earl's as being your favourite pair of jeans. You can dress it up, you can dress it down, versatile, and works with any outfit. Just like those jeans, Earl's works for lunch, for dinner, for drinks after work, for dessert in the evening, for a big birthday bash or for a small intimate meal. The menu isn't overly huge like the pages and pages I've seen at other large chain restaurants but it has enough variety with each dish having something unique to offer. There's also different types of cuisines available to suit many different palettes. Shoutouts to some dishes: Spinach dip (10/10), new york cheesecake (10/10), and veggie dragon roll (9/10). There's a vegetarian section on the menu with many of the dishes catering to vegan diets as well with a few modifications. There's a large patio area that's great in the summer time. It's covered partially and also heated (in the fall) so you can even sit out there when it gets a bit colder out. There's a dine in area where you can reserve I believe and also a lounge area where it's first come first serve. The lounge has a nice mix of large tables and smaller intimate tables as well as seating along the bar. They have drink specials and happy hour deals almost every day so it's a great place to go hang out with friends or coworkers without having to spend too much money (especially considering the location! Right in the middle of the financial district). No matter what time of day or what I'm feeling, I know if I go to Earl's, I'll find what I'm looking for, I highly recommend this place! read more

Customer service wasn't stellar. We popped in for drinks and to watch the latter part of a baseball game. There were 2 hostesses at the station and we were asked to go to bar on the left as the other one wasn't opened. Our female bartender was quick to serve and to follow up when our drinks were getting low. But, the male bartender was less attentive, seemed a little tipsy and forgot to bring our check. We sat for a while trying to get either's attention. No luck for several minutes as they were talking to each other not serving the half-empty bar We finally paid and headed out and none of the THREE people at the host station said a word as we departed. These missed small tokens of courtesy set a bad tone, as if people have forgotten that they are in the hospitality business. There are too many places in Downtown Toronto to return to Earl's. read more

Nice large restaurant with mostly attentive staff. But if you are spending hundreds on a meal with family or friends (friends this time) at least have some decent spirits not the lowest level possible that shows zero effort. I was hoping for a nice whiskey instead of a wine this evening and Jack 7 , Maker's Mark basic and Woodfords 2 yr straight. All the cheapest bottles available and taste like the cheapest bottles available. No mid or upper level bottles. No Canadien ryes ( come in people ), no single malts Irish or Scotch, just a sad pathetic offering. Yes I am disappointed as it ruined the meal for me. I wish I had gone next door to Ruths and I like and go to Earls just never asked for whiskey before. I've always had very good experiences at Earls Kitchen + Bar. It's a gastropub with tons of pub-style options, healthier alternatives, and a reasonably priced menu. It is comparable to other pubs in the area, but certainly tastier (and often busier). I highly recommend making a reservation if you're coming for after work drinks or dinner. This place books up quickly! Some of my favourites include the crispy calamari, warm spinach and three cheese dip, and classic sirloin steaks. The crispy calamari is breaded in a gluten-free batter (something you rarely find) and served with a delicious creamy tzatziki dip. The spinach dip is creamy, cheesy and packed with flavour. It is served with corn tortilla chips. I would also argue that the steak is comparable to a steak at The Keg (except more reasonably priced). It comes with creamy mashed potatoes and grilled veggies. One of my favourite things about Earls is their gluten sensitivity. They have endless options for those with dietary restrictions and exemplify great care in ensuring a lack of cross contamination. Service is always impeccable despite the busy demands of a bustling pub in the heart of the Financial District. Thumbs up from me! read more

The restaurant and bar has a very unique exterior with the plants and wall decor. The inside was pretty large and the menu all looked great. I ordered a Moscow Mule which wasn't the best but got a little better when fully mixed. We ordered a sushi roll as an appetizer and it was really fresh and tasty. We also ordered the tacos which were on point with the fresh jalepenos. We wanted to try the s'mores dessert but unfortunately didn't have space. Horrible experience twice. I was given a gift card of $150. I went to the Bloor and bay location onay first visit by myself. I had one drink, one app and main. When time to pay I gave the waitress the gift card and told I believe the is $150. She back and said my balance to pay is 32.34 there was only $80 on it so I paid and left. But I felt something was not right came back because I was not far. I asked one of the managers to see the gift card and yes there was $150. I told can I get the $32. 34 back on card and take it from gift card Of course there was problem because the machine the icon for refund was not coming up. I was there for a long time to see if it could be fix and at the same time I asked for the balance he printed and showed $100. One of the managers named Austin said he will get back to me to fix. He did and said he couldn't unless I was in the building and offered egift for that amount I said fine. So, on June 8 I went to the Yorkdale location with my sister. We had each had app, main and three drinks in total. Time to pay I gave the gift cards she came back and said the first card had $6.20 and the one that was emailed did no have pin and could not use!! I was like shocked because where did the $100 disappear!? And, on top no pin number how am I told know that. We paid and left unhappy. One Sunday I emailed because there is info on the card if there is a problem. Then on Tuesday and Thursday left two voicemails no response and no one answers the phone. So, they basically STOLE the money on the gift that was given to me. What's the point of I paid out of pocket. I even texted Austin regarding no pin number no answer. This is how the restaurant conducts business by not responding to stolen money!! I would give a zero. read more

The service wasn't great we had to ask for every thing: more napkins, can you wipe the table (after we had the seafood tower) , more seafood sauce and brings a ramekin with about 2 tablespoons of sauce... we just laughed and the waiter said "well it's free"! After you spend $135 on an appetizer you practically have to beg for additional seafood sauce which really annoyed me! Someone once told me, if you have to ask your waiter for something it means you really wanted it five minutes ago! The food was okay at best but the waiters need to be retrained. Actually, they weren't waiters they were order takers. I doubt very much I'll be back!! read more

Not my first time at Earls! Last te was the one in Vaughn! All I remembered was I ordered the steak and it was just a dry steak, no sauce, a few fries! Thought I wud give the dt location a go, considering wed is their wings special! First off how does a restaurant "lose" a reservation? Thank goodness it was for two and not for a large party! I had called two days ago to book, the girl took down my first and last name and number! I asked the girl if it was true that they had a wings night special as per their website it's $6/a pound? She said yes that's right! I even confirmed if it had to be in the bar area (coz Moxie has a their own wing specials only at the bar lounge area) She had confirmed it was available at the dining area too! Because they were not able to accommodate 7:30 so I had booked 8pm as that was the only availability! Upon arrival, no reservation, not for 7:30, not for 8:00! So I had to sit down & wait 25 mins for a table only to be to told by the hostess when asked that there were no wing specials! She has never heard of that! So I pulled out my phone & showed her the Earls website! After going around in circles, she said she will check for me! Long story short clueless hostess! Wings were tiny! Turned out to be $9.25 (reg $12) Good Beer special though, Rhino pint for $5! Coz the wings were so tiny, ordered dessert! Sticky toffee chocolate pudding with vanilla ice cream $8.75 was amazing! That almost made up for a horrible arrival experience! With its crazy crowd, bimbo hostess who can't even take down a reservation needless to say I doubt I will be back! One star for the cute waiter, another for the awesome finish to a horrible dining experience! read more

Swordfish prepared well well balanced We tried the fettuccini Alfredo w/ chicken. It was lite . No too creamy over bearing sauce. The pasta felt like they took it out of the strainer a few minutes early. But it was ok. Menu is a simple , not confusing I recommend it. kumquat pink drink and truffle fries which were all pretty good but average. average service and corporate ambiance.

I came to Earls with a friend for lunch and really enjoyed my experience eating here. The service was fast, attentive and efficient. Our server was very talkative and kind, giving us advice on what to order along with chatting to us about our day. The ambiance of the restaurant is very beautiful and calming both indoors and outdoors. We decided to sit at the patio since it was such a sunny day outside and we really liked the setup in the patio with the fairy lights adorning the trees. The seating in the patio was spaced out wonderfully without it being too close to other tables and thus not having to overhear others' conversations or worry about others overhearing your conversation. In choosing something to eat, we ordered the crispy calamari as an appetizer to share and for mains, I got the tofu rice bowl whereas my friend got the chicken tacos. The calamari was a delicious appetizer to start off the meal and I really liked my dish and found it to be extremely filling - I wasn't able to finish all of it because I was so full from the large portions! The tofu in the dish was cooked wonderfully and I loved that they added just enough teriyaki sauce, without it being too much or too little! My friend, on the other hand, thought the tacos were good but not the best and she only had 1 of hers and left the other uneaten. I think the tacos may be a hit or miss for some but the rice bowls are a definite must-try -- all of them looked delicious and I am excited to come back to try more! I would recommend Earls for anyone looking for a beautiful and tranquil ambiance to go with their delicious meals! I think for groups it is also a wonderful restaurant to try with friends and family. read more

The service was excellent. Several staff supporting our table - not just one server to cater to our needs. The room was beautiful. Large, open concept with lots of natural light. Comfortable and varied seating. 2nd floor for dinner time! Tasteful decor. The food was well plated. We chose a large variety from the menu to share for lunch. I appreciate their attention to adding fresh herbs and spice accents to their dishes. Wagyu beef sushi was disappointing - a second sliver of beef on each piece may have helped find it's flavour or texture OR less rice to balance the portions. Breaded calamari too much like popcorn shrimp. Chowder delicate and good. Crabcakes would be good paired with a bit of raw veggie to help ring in the taste. Had the prawn cocktail. A nice place for business lunches. I would go there again if it was my neighbourhood and i had the budget. This is the best place to have an upscale night out with your friends or even mingle with others after work. The social and mingling atmosphere is warm and bubbly. On the outside patio, gorgeous vinery encloses it. I find it really exclusive that the entrance is tucked away within a polished wooden tunnel where a bouncer awaits to direct you. Seating is self-serve and menus are brought over. Beehave (honey, basil, lemon, grapefruit juice & soda ) - got this from the server's recommendation and it's soo unique. It's not too fizzy and has the right amount of sweetness. I absolutely LOVED this. Ginger Beer (ginger syrup & soda) - diluted enough so even haters can enjoy it Tinga Chicken Tacos w/ Truffle fries The chicken was minced and lean which was unexpected but still good. However the chipotle and avocado flavours were nonexistent and was replaced with water. The radishes and taco shells were the best part. The fries probably sat out for awhile as they were not as crispy as i had wanted. They were served with their own mix of pepper and salt which was nice and gritty but made me really thirsty afterwards. The truffle aioli was mostly garlic butter with a hint of fungi, but wasn't as good as the Trump Hotel's version. read more

The 3 street chicken tacos were slightly underwhelming. They had a good mixture of spice, but the chicken wasn't very tender, and the dry ingredients were simply put on a small tortilla.
