Since Greg had previously worked on another vehicle of mine, I trusted his experience and judgment. I took my vehicle to him, and he asked me to leave it with him so that he and Vivian could evaluate the damage and handle the necessary inspection. Based solely on the photos, AAA estimated the damage at approximately $6,500, while Greg initially estimated the repairs at approximately $2,500. However, Greg explained that he needed to inspect the vehicle more thoroughly, including opening the trunk and removing the bumper, to determine the full extent of the damage and whether the vehicle was worth repairing. After Greg completed his inspection and confirmed that the vehicle was, in fact, totaled, I felt more comfortable with the decision because I had received an in-person professional assessment rather than relying solely on photos. Having Greg inspect the vehicle and provide his professional opinion gave me reassurance that the determination was based on the actual condition of the car. While other shops quoted me $1,600 for a full mirror replacement Greg from Simi Collision Center showed me that wasn't necessary. First of all he got the housing and glass mirror remounted and in a working state free of charge. He then explained to me that all I need is an inexpensive housing, where I can buy one and how to easily install it myself if I chose to. I prefer to have a professional do the job so I'll have Greg do it and post an update when the jobs complete!
