These guys are amazing - dedicated and honest! There was a clicking/rattling sound coming from the rear of the car any time I was on a bumpy road/pot holes/or anything that made the back suspension compress. It was driving me crazy. I took it in to a few different places, including the dealer, and no one was able to figure out what it was. But not here. The team spent who knows how many hours ripping apart/driving my car around trying to figure it out and they did! Turns out it was loose shoes on the emergancy break. DO NOT GO HERE. They trapped me. They got me to go out of my insurance network with the promise of paying 500 of my deductible, and the 20% fee my insurers would charge me for going out of network. They lied. They went back on their word, ( silly me for not getting it in writing) and i was forced to pay 1750, rather than the 500 it would supposed to of cost me. Even going in my insurance network would of cost me max 1000. they held my car and would not release it until I came up with the money. They charged my credit card and told me it didn't go through when it did. they also took cash off me. They were aggressive, frightening and hostile. i have never felt so taken advantage and helpless in my life. PLEASE BE SUPER CAREFUL WHEN USING THIS SHOP. I took my Jeep Wrangler to Auto Zone and ran a test, bought the recommended part and made an appointment with H&M to install it. When I showed up for my appointment the guy who seemed like one of owners was nice and very knowledgeable. He said he didn't think it was the intake air temperature sensor that needed replacing that it was probably something with the wiring. He worked quickly and showed me the problem. The wire had somehow detached and broke off. He described stuff to me as he worked, even though I'm pretty much clueless about auto repair and engines and sensors and all that kind of stuff, he still tried. He reconnected the wires and replaced the part I bought at my request even though the other piece was clearly not broken. I recommend just coming here and letting the guys figure out the problem instead of trying to cut corners and save money like I tried to do, because ultimately I bought something I didn't need. After my appointment my Jeep drives smoothly and he refused to let me pay saying just come back again later. I mean honestly he was out in the sun for over an hour and I had a hard time driving away I was practically begging him to let me pay. One things for sure I just found my new mechanic and highly recommend him especially to other women who are scared to get scammed. This guy is knowledgeable, honest and fast. Hector and Marcel were recommended to me by my friend who is incredibly particular about his automotive work, as they are who he has his mothers car worked on by. I've gone there regularly and they've helped me keep my older, cheaper cars running well, and have always worked with me to keep it within my budget etc. But you can truly tell who a shop is when something goes wrong. My fathers car had a power steering pump go out, and after a day in the shop, it was fixed. When the same symptoms started showing up a week later, I dropped it off at the shop, meaning to call in in the morning. What happened instead was they called me, let me know that the pump was defective, apologized for the bad part, and told me they were replacing it free of charge, both parts and labor, and it will be ready immediately. This is what we should all expect, but I find it so rare in todays world. I HIGHLY recommend H&M for their skill, their ability to work with my budget, but especially for their integrity, kindness and professionalism. They are the rare honest mechanics we all want to find. read more

I brought a 2007 Ford Edge in to have the spark plugs replaced, they were suspected of causing a missing/surge when driving the vehicle. Normally I would do this myself, but I just moved out here and don't have a good garage setup or all the right tools out here yet. I met Hector, the manager, and explained the situation. He stated they would hook it up to a scanner, drive it and call me before anything was done. Shortly after I got home, he called and nothing obvious was found, but agreed on the plug replacment as a logical step. He quoted an amount. It was quite a bit of work since you have to take the intake off, and all the air handling pieces to get to the cylinders in the back, next to the firewall since it's a transverse v-6. I agreed to proceed. He pointed out that it would make sense to replace the three coils on the back side, so the intake wouldn't have to be removed again if the coils were the issue, and had two options for coils. I checked the pricing online, and his pricing on the coils was very competitive. I agreed with this approach; replace the three in the back while the top of the intake was off so it wouldn't need to be done a second time later. The next day he called it was done. He had all the old parts for me, and suggested I keep the removed coils in case one of the front coils went bad. Again, a great idea to help minimize the cost. The surging issue was resolved, the plugs were in very bad shape it was obvious from looking at them they had never been changed. The final cost was what I was quoted. Great transaction; solid quote, final cost matched the quote, they did the work like I would have, they saved money where they could. I would highly recommend H and M Auto. Sadly, I had a bad experience at this place. Took my car in because my air conditioning stopped working. After taking a look, they told me it just needed servicing $58 - I said ok - but 10 min. Later they said it was the compressor and they would have to price it out. I sat in the waiting area for 35 min. - until I had to leave to keep an appt. I left my cell number and they said they would call me - never happened, no call. I also had a window that wasn't working and they gave me an estimate of $325 to repair. I had it fixed for $75 at another shop. Will never go back. Not honest people. read more

I have been going to Hector {RIP} my friend...and Marcel for 20+ years. I am so satisfied with their work. Always honest no matter what. I took my Toyota 4-Runner to Marcel because I was having wiring problems and the battery was always going dead. BUT...first I took it to the Toyota dealer and they only ripped me off for a new battery in which I didn't need. Long story short...he fixed the MINOR problem and I was on my way. O.K..I'm familiar with some of the other firms listed on Yelp for Simi (C&M Automotive, BJ's, Bills, and Schneiders) with my having service done at ALL of them at least once or more. I've chosen to endorse this specific facility based on the following criteria: Diagnostics, Integrity, and Value. As some of you know I do have some training in repair (Attended LA Trade Tech for 2-1/2 years) for motorcycle repair since I own a bike and didn't want to be stuck somewhere without knowing how to do my own repairs. So unlike some consumers I do have some basis for knowing something about repairs. Recently while awaiting repair of my daughters seal on her car door one of the customers at that facility mentioned that they were referred to H&M (which they have been loyal customers for 12 years) and found out they lived in the San Fernando Valley. I asked why they drove all the way out here when there were probably MANY shops there that could take care of their car. They then recounted all the experiences they've had over the years as to why they went and that stuck in my mind. That said, recently I had the opportunity to avail myself of both Hector and Marcel's expertise on my two daughter's vehicles. My youngest daughter's recently had her driving test only to discover that the rear brake light was out at the test. We had to rush over to a repair facility as the type of tool to take the lens off I didn't have. They (Hector) was good enough to stop what he was doing and replace the bulb on the spot AND refused payment. Can't beat the value there as free is much better than any price I've ever paid for. That help allowed us to get back to the DMV and her to continue with the test- that alone would motivate anyone to give them a try again and we did. Her car had an intermittent failure to start. We took it over there and they diagnosed it to be at a minimum the fuel pump and possibly the ignition. They went ahead and repaired it and it was 1/2 the cost of the local dealer. My other daughter had her car (Toyota) oil change @ Midas and they came up with a laundry list of things that needed attention and one of them was the rear brakes. Seeing that she had those done by one of the mentioned repair facilities above (I'll do a review of them shortly after they refund the brake job they've promised my daughter) and had that facility re-check what Midas found. They stated that my daughter was probably driving around with the emergency brake on as for the reasoning of why one side of her rear brakes was excessively worn. I than took the Toyota to H&M for a second opinion and Marcel this time checked it out (free) and stated that if it was the emergency brake than BOTH brakes would be equally worn out and they were not- only one side. He also stated that he's very familiar with the other shop and stated that he feels that they do very good work which to me shows the kind of professional integrity that this shop demonstrates. As a result we brought the Saturn back in for some additional work and again it was less than 1/2 the price of what the dealer would charge. Based on this facilities expertise, professionalism and value I whole hardily endorse them for the qualities of their diagnostics, integrity and value. I believe that when you compare them to the top shops around that they warrant consideration as one of the best facilities in town. read more
