I'm new to the area because I'm storing my motorhome out here in Simi (I'm in Burbank/Glendale area). I needed to find a mechanic to install a smog pump that I already had, and my regular mechanic (friend) has become ill. So I checked Yelp to read a bunch of reviews for a mobile mechanic... and "Mobile Mechanic Repair" stood out. I was apprehensive, but one review said "Right off the bat I'll tell you 'Hire him!'" convinced me to go ahead and call. Robert was very nice over the phone and agreed to meet me at the motorhome... I had the smog pump part and Robert got right to work. He explained to me that the newer part was metric and that he would have to head to the hardware store to get screws to fit the part. Upon installation there were some other altercations that needed to be done (drilling out larger holes on a gasket piece/or diverter piece.. I think?) At the end of a verrrry hot 98* day, he asked if I trusted him to take the part home and drill a larger hole to make the piece work. I said I did trust him and I headed home. He texted me while I was driving home letting me know he successfully drilled the hole to work!! We agreed to start again the next morning, and although I wasn't available the next morning, he went on his own and completed the job. He sent me pictures of the installed part 100% complete!! And I gladly paid him. Even though the job was done he asked me to let him know the motorhome started with no noise making (from the smog pump) and to let him know if the motorhome passed it's smog test later that day... and it did! Robert is very communicative about the job, he stays in touch with texts, he is extremely patient, knowledgeable, and I feel he went above and beyond! I'll definitely will hire him again. And you should HIRE HIM TOO!!! read more

Mechanic with Integrity *** My husband and I needed to replace our struts and upper control arms on our Cadillac Escalade ESV and the dealership prices were astronomical so we called Robert. He was extremely helpful with sourcing the best price and quality parts. He was patient, professional and full of knowledge in his expertise. He successfully completed the job at an affordable rate. We high recommend Robert and are already scheduling our next tune up and maintenance with him. read more

Right off the bat I'll tell you "Hire him!" Yup I have switched mechanics in Simi several times because at some point they all try to make a lot of $$ off you (saying your car needs this and that and making it seem like it really does when it doesn't, overcharging a lot for parts, etc etc). As a car enthusiast I actually care about the cars I drive so I have learned how cars work and it's easy to see when shops do this. If you don't care about your car in that way, I'm sure you still care about having good work done for a low cost right? Well Robert did just that for my daily driver. The car is 18 years old now and I was thinking of giving up on it because I got code P0300 which is a random cylinder misfire in the engine. Most engines have between 4-8 cylinders where a piston moves up and down which in turn sends power to your wheels to move. This code can turn out to be a real pain and could even mean there's a serious issue with the engine that would require rebuilding it or replacing it (ie bad compression) I was thinking about giving up on the car given how complicated and costly it could be to fix but I spent some time online researching. I called Robert and he said he would start with the spark plugs and ignition coils. Well that lined up with my research and guess what? 2 of 3 shops I called wouldn't even tell me a single thing. They said I had to bring it in and it would cost $150+ just to look at the car..... I understand if a shop doesn't want to help a customer figure out a problem completely but they wouldn't tell me anything at all. Since certain parts of the engine had to be accessed, it was a good time to do the intake gasket (a gasket is thin material that helps seal parts of the engine). This is really where I knew Robert is genuinely honest. He suggested to do the gasket only because it would be easy to do as part of the original job. You don't have to know a lot about cars to see that and things I didn't know, he was happy to explain them. At this point I was so confident in Robert that I asked him to replace the fuel injectors also. (He could have also suggested that but this was just me wanting to do preventative maintenance.) I haven't mentioned that he helped me look for parts online! Yeah try doing that with your local shop. If you don't know, shops usually buy the cheapest parts and mark them up 100-200% when they sell them to you. At the end, my car's engine ran better than when I bought it, yup! I'm not exaggerating. I didn't buy the car brand new but it was babied with only like 50k miles. I feel power through the entire RPM-range, it is a lot more responsive and it idles quieter now too. Hire Robert. He is a good guy and he wants to do a good job. You don't need to know anything about cars either bc he'll explain things but do yourself a favor and learn some basics. I will be hiring him to work on my other car, my baby :) read more

Mobile Auto Repair - Engine is 18 years old and running strong thanks to Robert :) - Auto Repair Near Me

My son told me his car was making a "little noise" . When I drive it I realized he had worn the brake pads down to nothing and the "little noise" was the screeching sound of metal on metal. Needless to say one of the rotors was destroyed and the car was not drivable. I called Robert late Saturday afternoon and left him a message. He returned my call within a few minutes and after confirming that the necessary parts were in stock at his parts store we made an appointment to come to my home the following afternoon. He showed up on time and finished changing the rotors and pads within 90 minutes in my driveway. I was very pleased with his work had and the charge was more than reasonable. I will be using him again . read more

I highly recommend using Mobile Auto Repair. I was having problems starting my car this afternoon, mind you it's a Sunday, and remembered seeing reviews on Yelp for this business. I gave Robert a call. He was quick to respond, properly diagnosed the problem, and had my car working in less than an hour. Robert is reasonably priced. I will definitely be calling him again. read more

Robert did a fantastic job doing a major service job on my car. He assisted me with changing my front shock assemblies, all eight control arms on the front, sway bar links, and assisted with the clamping on a boot to protect the steering rack. In addition, he replaced on old front axle. The job was significantly more difficult than expected due to some unexpected issues - apparently my car is not as easy to repair as the average car. Nevertheless, Robert did not attempt to pressure me into paying him a lot more money. in the end, it was a very fairly priced job for all the extensive work he did on my car. Robert is friendly and even-tempered, even in the face of unexpected technical challenges. I would recommend that you hire Robert for your mobile mechanical needs. I am inviting him to come over to do more maintenance work on my car in the near future. read more

Robert is not your ordinary mechanic, you'll get a great story while he works once you get to know him. and good quality work , he's has worked on all my cars and has saved me hundreds upon hundreds of dollars, what I like is that if it's something he cannot perform he'll let you know and tell you where to go from there . Always on time and reliable. read more

We took our Honda crv to Shelly's Automotive in Thousand Oaks and were charged $380 for a job that was quoted at $260. When we left the same engine code was still there. Problem was not resolved. It turns out that they used a cheap aftermarket knock sensor that was not compatible with the Honda. Then we had a mobile mechanic from Ventura named Vincent, cancel his scheduled appointment with us two days in a row. So I came to yelp to find help. I was lucky it was a windy day and Robert with Mobile Auto Repair in Simi Valley had to cancel his scheduled job due to the high winds and no electric at his home. For less than half what Shelly's charged to not fix it, Robert was at my house within an hour and had the correct OEM part installed and gone 1 hour later, and that was with some other odds n end diagnostics. We found our trustworthy and very capable forever mechanic. If he can not help with your situation, he will tell you instead of racking up the charges or leaving the job undone. Thanks Robert, it was a pleasure to meet you and I would recommend you to anyone that needs a trustworthy mechanic. read more

Robert White aka "The Great White" did an outstanding job replacing my blown head gasket on my 1997 Toyota 4 runner V6. It was a big job, had to dissemble a lot of parts. After finishing the job, I then Had to replace my knock sensors. Robert asked me how much I think the labor would cost to put in two new knock sensors for my vehicle, my answer was $300.00. Toyota dealership would of charged me $550.00 for the labor. Robert did the labor for me for only a $160.00. Robert is very honest, upfront, critical, literal, efficient and sure does love biscuits and gravy. He is the one and only "Great White". Thank you very much...My Truck is running stronger than ever. read more

We had a fantastic experience with Robert. We have had a very difficult time finding a repair shop that was reasonably priced. I decided to give him a call. He got us a discount on our battery which we purchased and replaced our starter for $260. He charges his cost for parts. I thought that was fantastic. I am so excited that we found a reliable person to work on our car. read more

Robert definitely came through for me! My car wouldn't start and needed a battery. The battery was old and since I do not really drive it, needed to be jumped in the past. This time, it did not take. I called Robert on a Saturday. Originally we agreed on Monday but that did not work for me due to my work schedule. I would be unable to accompany Robert to O'Reilly Auto Parts (Robert has a commercial account and passes the discount to his customers You pay his price, no markup). Robert had something going on but agreed to come anyway. He attempted to jump using a power pack with no avail. We removed the battery and went to the store and but another. After we replaced the battery, the car still wouldn't crank. Robert did a ton of troubleshooting and confirmed, it was the starter. When we went back to O' Reilly Auto Parts, Robert was smart to have them test the new starter, and it was not properly functioning. This was really unfortunate because they only had one. Robert had them call another location to make sure they had it and that it tested properly. I was ready to throw in the towel for the night. Robert clearly does not want to leave a jump unfinished and a customer hanging. He went and picked up the new starter and we put it in, in the dark. Once everything was installed, the car started perfectly. The next day, everything is still working perfectly. Thank you so much Robert, I will definitely be calling you if I have any more issues! read more

Finally, I found a mobile mechanic that I can trust! I am a gear head myself and I've used to do my own repairs on my BMWs and other cars but due to my back issues, I can no longer perform my own repairs. I needed a mobile mechanic to install all four brake rotors and pads (that I had already purchased) on my recently acquired Lexus GS 350. I called several and Robert was the only one that called me back and within a few minutes after leaving him a voice mail. He was very polite, he listen carefully to what I wanted him to do, asked me a few questions about the car and the parts and we were able to set up an appointment. He showed up on time and he immediately got to work. He was very careful lifting the car with his floor jack and he placed the jack stands correctly so not to damage anything underneath. He took his time to do the job right, he removed the rust from the hubs, properly greased the pads, caliper and sliding pins and installed the brake hardware. My front calipers were four piston calipers and if you don't know what you're doing, the pistons will keep popping making it very difficult to install the pads on the caliper and slide them on top of the rotors. But Robert knew exactly what to do and showed me the trick to get the pistons retracted and install the pads properly. The car brakes are now flawless, no squeaks, no sounds and they stop on a dime. Overall I HIGHLY recommend Robert to do your brakes and other repairs saving you hundreds of dollars. He's a very competent mechanic with years of experience, his prices are great and he is a very nice guy. read more

Finally, I true mechanic you can trust, the price is right (meaning fair & reasonable)! I was having problems with my truck after installing a new fuel filter. I went to Yelp and found Robert. I read his reviews and called. He came out and diagnosed the problem. His prices are reasonable and I will for sure use him in the future. Thanks Rob. read more

Well, to start off I called many people prior to Robert who is now my new mechanic "YAY", and I was so happy with the way he spoke to me on the phone that I was sold in just a few mins of speaking to him. I had him change a leaky water pump that just seemed to sneak up on me out of nowhere and as a woman was just very worried I would have to just get screwed cuz I do not know about cars and I'm a woman. Robert walked me through his prices and method of repair and then asked me if I wanted him to go to me. People do that? I was so happy he was mobile and so Robert got the parts and came to me and fixed the water pump. He only took like 1.5hrs I was so relieved. Robert was fair priced and did a great job!!! I will call him again for anything auto related. Thank you Robert, Cher from La read more

Robert was punctual, well prepared and essential in putting a new throw out bearing in my 2014 BRZ. Not a common car to work on he worked diligently through the obstacles and finished the job exactly as quoted. He earned every penny of his fee which was 1/3rd of the dealer quote. I would highly recommend Robert for anyone needing an excellent mechanic for a very fair price. That you don't have to take your car into and leave it at the dealer is icing on the cake. So i was in need of some brakes... did the old interwebs search... came across mobile auto repair via yelp. Made a call on Friday night and spoke with Robert, he was able to fit me in the next day. Showed up, did the job as he said he would... go for a ride... my wheels started smoking. i was surprised to say the least. Called Robert, explained the situation... Robert returned the following day to fix the issue. Now the issue was in no way Roberts fault. We got some bad parts from the supplier, Robert made a call, got me upgraded parts at no cost to either of us, and made the repairs with no additional charge to me. Bottom line is Robert backs his work! So for convince, quality, and affordability Robert is now my go to mechanic, Thx Robert! read more

Robert came out to my rig super fast and made sure that it ran like a beast before he left. He has a vast amount of knowledge and a great attitude. My brakes failed completely this morning. I gave Robert a call and he was over within the hour and correctly diagnosed my car. My brake fluid was completely dry. He re-filled my fluid, bled out the air, and correctly knew that my brake engine light would then turn off. Robert, came from North Hollywood to Downtown L.A within 1 hr of me calling to fix my car even giving me a ride to Pepboys to get the parts I needed. Very friendly and professional. Because of the other positive ratings, I decided to give Robert a shot. And just like the other satisfied customers here, he saved me some grief and heartache with my immobilized vehicle. I found him to be very friendly, honest and knowledgeable. He's just an honest mechanic trying to make a livin' not a killin'. So you can expect to get outstanding and reasonably priced service from him. For the heck of it, he checked my oil, after he was all done. Jiffy Lube "supposedly" changed (6 mos earlier...3 yr old Honda Civic, no oil leaks) and the dipstick was almost bone dry!!! So Robert saved me a potential catastrohpe with my car. There was no reason for him to check the oil, I guess it's just mechanic's intuition or something... Don't bother looking anywhere else. Pick up the phone and call him now if you need a mobile mechanic, you'll be glad you did. read more

I just want to say that Robert really saved my day by being a skilled and trustworthy mechanic. He was instantly available, quoted me an honest price for his labor and did not mark up the price on any parts, he in fact tried his hardest to save me money at all points. As he began to fix my car I was able to get to know him better and appreciated him on a personal level. He has a natural skill for auto repair. My car was fixed in a few short hours and it works great. I am very thankful, what could have been a disaster was fixed in, I think, the smoothest manner possible. read more
