Right off the bat I'll tell you "Hire him!" Yup I have switched mechanics in Simi several times because at some point they all try to make a lot of $$ off you (saying your car needs this and that and making it seem like it really does when it doesn't, overcharging a lot for parts, etc etc). As a car enthusiast I actually care about the cars I drive so I have learned how cars work and it's easy to see when shops do this. If you don't care about your car in that way, I'm sure you still care about having good work done for a low cost right? Well Robert did just that for my daily driver. The car is 18 years old now and I was thinking of giving up on it because I got code P0300 which is a random cylinder misfire in the engine. Most engines have between 4-8 cylinders where a piston moves up and down which in turn sends power to your wheels to move. This code can turn out to be a real pain and could even mean there's a serious issue with the engine that would require rebuilding it or replacing it (ie bad compression) I was thinking about giving up on the car given how complicated and costly it could be to fix but I spent some time online researching. I called Robert and he said he would start with the spark plugs and ignition coils. Well that lined up with my research and guess what? 2 of 3 shops I called wouldn't even tell me a single thing. They said I had to bring it in and it would cost $150+ just to look at the car..... I understand if a shop doesn't want to help a customer figure out a problem completely but they wouldn't tell me anything at all. Since certain parts of the engine had to be accessed, it was a good time to do the intake gasket (a gasket is thin material that helps seal parts of the engine). This is really where I knew Robert is genuinely honest. He suggested to do the gasket only because it would be easy to do as part of the original job. You don't have to know a lot about cars to see that and things I didn't know, he was happy to explain them. At this point I was so confident in Robert that I asked him to replace the fuel injectors also. (He could have also suggested that but this was just me wanting to do preventative maintenance.) I haven't mentioned that he helped me look for parts online! Yeah try doing that with your local shop. If you don't know, shops usually buy the cheapest parts and mark them up 100-200% when they sell them to you. At the end, my car's engine ran better than when I bought it, yup! I'm not exaggerating. I didn't buy the car brand new but it was babied with only like 50k miles. I feel power through the entire RPM-range, it is a lot more responsive and it idles quieter now too. Hire Robert. He is a good guy and he wants to do a good job. You don't need to know anything about cars either bc he'll explain things but do yourself a favor and learn some basics. We took our Honda crv to Shelly's Automotive in Thousand Oaks and were charged $380 for a job that was quoted at $260. When we left the same engine code was still there. Problem was not resolved. It turns out that they used a cheap aftermarket knock sensor that was not compatible with the Honda. Then we had a mobile mechanic from Ventura named Vincent, cancel his scheduled appointment with us two days in a row. So I came to yelp to find help. I was lucky it was a windy day and Robert with Mobile Auto Repair in Simi Valley had to cancel his scheduled job due to the high winds and no electric at his home. For less than half what Shelly's charged to not fix it, Robert was at my house within an hour and had the correct OEM part installed and gone 1 hour later, and that was with some other odds n end diagnostics. Robert did a fantastic job doing a major service job on my car. He assisted me with changing my front shock assemblies, all eight control arms on the front, sway bar links, and assisted with the clamping on a boot to protect the steering rack. In addition, he replaced on old front axle. The job was significantly more difficult than expected due to some unexpected issues - apparently my car is not as easy to repair as the average car. Nevertheless, Robert did not attempt to pressure me into paying him a lot more money. in the end, it was a very fairly priced job for all the extensive work he did on my car. Robert is friendly and even-tempered, even in the face of unexpected technical challenges. I would recommend that you hire Robert for your mobile mechanical needs. Robert White aka "The Great White" did an outstanding job replacing my blown head gasket on my 1997 Toyota 4 runner V6. It was a big job, had to dissemble a lot of parts. After finishing the job, I then Had to replace my knock sensors. Robert asked me how much I think the labor would cost to put in two new knock sensors for my vehicle, my answer was $300.00. Robert definitely came through for me! My car wouldn't start and needed a battery. The battery was old and since I do not really drive it, needed to be jumped in the past. This time, it did not take. I called Robert on a Saturday. Originally we agreed on Monday but that did not work for me due to my work schedule. I would be unable to accompany Robert to O'Reilly Auto Parts (Robert has a commercial account and passes the discount to his customers You pay his price, no markup). Robert had something going on but agreed to come anyway. He attempted to jump using a power pack with no avail. We removed the battery and went to the store and but another. After we replaced the battery, the car still wouldn't crank. Robert did a ton of troubleshooting and confirmed, it was the starter. When we went back to O' Reilly Auto Parts, Robert was smart to have them test the new starter, and it was not properly functioning. This was really unfortunate because they only had one. Robert had them call another location to make sure they had it and that it tested properly. I was ready to throw in the towel for the night. Robert clearly does not want to leave a jump unfinished and a customer hanging. He went and picked up the new starter and we put it in, in the dark. Finally, I found a mobile mechanic that I can trust! I am a gear head myself and I've used to do my own repairs on my BMWs and other cars but due to my back issues, I can no longer perform my own repairs. I needed a mobile mechanic to install all four brake rotors and pads (that I had already purchased) on my recently acquired Lexus GS 350. I called several and Robert was the only one that called me back and within a few minutes after leaving him a voice mail. He was very polite, he listen carefully to what I wanted him to do, asked me a few questions about the car and the parts and we were able to set up an appointment. He showed up on time and he immediately got to work. He was very careful lifting the car with his floor jack and he placed the jack stands correctly so not to damage anything underneath. He took his time to do the job right, he removed the rust from the hubs, properly greased the pads, caliper and sliding pins and installed the brake hardware. My front calipers were four piston calipers and if you don't know what you're doing, the pistons will keep popping making it very difficult to install the pads on the caliper and slide them on top of the rotors. But Robert knew exactly what to do and showed me the trick to get the pistons retracted and install the pads properly. The car brakes are now flawless, no squeaks, no sounds and they stop on a dime. Overall I HIGHLY recommend Robert to do your brakes and other repairs saving you hundreds of dollars. He's a very competent mechanic with years of experience, his prices are great and he is a very nice guy. read more

Well, to start off I called many people prior to Robert who is now my new mechanic "YAY", and I was so happy with the way he spoke to me on the phone that I was sold in just a few mins of speaking to him.
