On Sunday 12/3 I went by my storage unit to drop off a box and found that the code keypad was not working and there was a sign posted on the door that said to just pull and enter because the keypad was not working. The side of the door had tape on it to keep it from locking. I went inside and up to my unit and found the lock missing, lifted the unit door and found several items missing. Thankfully most of the stuff we have there is not of much value to a thief so they only took several large luggage empty suitcases we kept in there. I left to buy another lock and returned, saw that there was a large black van parked in reverse plus another truck and they were loading items on to them. I don't know if they were customers and was not about to ask them because what would they say if they weren't. Went and placed the new lock on my unit and then went by the office but door was locked and closed. Called and left a voice mail, a week later, no call back. I sent them several emails and still no response. I went by again today just to check if my lock was still in place and it was but the keypad is still not working and they're still leaving the door open. The office door has a sign that says it's temporarily closed and to call the manager of another store. I'm sure they closed it because several people had their lock cut and stuff stolen so rather than talk to the customer in person they closed the office. I called the other store and left a message, someone finally called back and said they were aware of the situation and know that leaving the door open puts all storage units at risk but they will do it anyway. The girl who called back said a manager was going to contact me on Monday about the items that were stolen but I'm not holding my breath. This is on Lifestorage for failing to secure the place and if the keypad is not working then they should have hired security services to remain on the premises until the keypad issues is resolved instead of just hoping someone doesn't go in and start stealing stuff which is exactly what happened. I hope they don't say to just submit a claim to my renters insurance because I have a deductible and they need to cover it. They don't have a plan for such situations, and I also didn't see surveillance cameras in the hall where my unit is located. They also failed to notify customers that the building was not secured and continues to not be secured in case they wanted to go check on their unit or move any valuables out so they are not stolen. I hope they do the right thing and cover the items that were stolen including the cost of the replacement lock or I will have to take my business elsewhere.

The pricing is pretty good compared to other storage places in the surrounding area. There is no climate control available here. However, getting in and out here is pretty good with 26' moving truck is a breeze.One of my friends is moving into the area and I told him about it since this place is close to where we live. The facility is fairly new and has a lot of big and small storage spots. You can park boats, RVs, and trailers while the spacing is available. The spaces are even marked and easy to maneuver your trailers around. They have fire extinguishers ready available on each row of storage. If you are looking for a big storage and not worried about climate control this is a storage facility you should check out. 15x30, 10x25, 10x20, and smaller sizes are available. There is an office building, however, the owner is usually not there. But if you call the number and set up an appointment the owner will come out to do business with you.

The officer I spoke to says the owner is difficult and forth coming with any information my guess is he obviously is in on it or knows who did it. Oh and if you try to ask if he's insured he will tell you he's not and your pretty much out of luck on anything you lost.

The gentleman that assisted us were very welcoming and friendly and they had a great promotion for a 5x10 storage for $49 a month so we took it! Also, we had our u-haul trailer that needed to get dropped off at another location, but we were able to drop it off at Storage Max which saved us time and made it so much easier! I reported it being stuck open and it was never fixed. When I vacated the storage unit, I used the live assistant kiosk to inform them of me moving out. I was told it was taken care of and to expect an email with the cancellation of my account within 24 hours. This was on the 30th of the month. Checked my email & Public Storage account 24 hours later & there was no email and my Public Storage account was still active. Luckily I still had 1 day left in the month before they overcharged me on an empty unit. I called the property, no answer: called the customer service line, no option for moving out; tried their live chat and finally got a link for moving out which brought me back to their app. I have " scheduled" a move out date through their app, fingers crossed this works.
