If I'm ever in the mood for a buffet, I never go wrong with this restaurant. Although their service is nothing outstanding, their food definitely makes up for it. The general tso's chicken is simply fantastic. They could have a bugger selection on their variety of sushi, but it's still good. Always end your meal with an ice cream cone. It is delicious. read more

Actually, it was good. We have been to the other location on Jones Road. My favorite is the fried crab......trust me I had my fill plus some. There was a fishy smell at this location, that I had to get past initially but overall it was good. read more

Good selection of food items, seems to be more of a leaning towards sushi and sashimi. Tended to run out of plates and cutlery half way through the evening. Service was attentive. We'd go back again read more

A large selection of great food. The staff is very attentive. Very reasonable price. I highly recommend going there if you're in the Katy area. read more

If you like mall Chinese. If you like mall food in general and don't mind overpaying for all you can eat option....then ok. Otherwise just go to a higher end Chinese food place and enjoy a single plate of good food. read more

Best buffet I've ever been to. Can't beat what you get for the price. Fresh oysters, muscles, and great sushi, plus the hot food too. It gets busy on the weekends but it's well worth the wait. read more

Cold and frozen Sashimi, sushi cut rolls are below average in taste. Rest of the food is mediocre at best. Service was good and with a smile. Please remind not to come again. read more

This buffet was ok. Basically there is enough options to satisfy you but if u are expecting more dont get your hopes up. I went on a Saturday around noon and the selection looked good until I realized there was alot of chicken on the buffet line. I'll tell you what I did have : the fried rice , the won ton soup, the seafood surprise, the rice noodles, and the pot stickers. The service was good, the staff was friendly, and the restaurant was clean. read more

Horrible. $25 for me and a 3 year old. I didn't even eat my food it was so bad. One piece was cold and frozen. I never complained about food to the restaurant before. I would of but the place was such a cluster I just wanted out. I want to give no stars. read more

Not bad not great.... This place is pretty much your typical Chinese buffet. Like many yelpers have voiced that the food isn't hot which I totally agree. The heating stations under the food need to be cranked up. Not sure exactly but certain foods need to be served hot and not Luke warm or cold for some meats. But I could be wrong. One thing that stuck out for me big time and fell in love with was the mango salad! This is super delish please try this. Got my mango fix in and also got my source of fiber in . The food was below subpar but the service that our waiter Frank gave us was superb. I can't say that much for Chinese buffets, most are quick and not to friendly. Frank was very tentative to all the tables. read more

I ate here last night for my second time. It was better than i remember. The Genereal Tso Chicken was probably the best i've ever had at a Chinese buffet- nice and crunchy with really tasty sauce. I saw the chicken strips and had to try them because they looked good and they were very juicy and cooked just right. The sashimi was fresh, ans all the other sushi was yummy. The desserts were yummy, and the service was standard of a buffet- my tea was always full, and plates were cleared during each trip to the buffet and everything was clean when we arrived and when we left. i was surprised that there were no "fried rolls" like you typically see in a Chinese buffet, but the fresh soft buttered rolls made up for that. I almost want to go back again for dinner tonight. read more

This place is super crowded. And, pricey. I also noticed a lot large groups were there. There was a large variety of sushi, though I didn't try any. Service was decent. I've been to other buffets that have had a larger variety and not people running over you at the buffet. read more

I'm writing to let people now that I'm all for buffets but somethings up with these guys. We were passing thru Katy on a Saturday so I Yelped Chinese buffets and this one came up. It was right about 11:15am so we pulled in to eat but realized that there weren't too many cars outside, which was odd. I'm thinking Saturday afternoon there should be a somewhat full house. I should've listened to my gut and not stopped but we were hungry and didn't wanna keep driving around, so we stayed, big mistake. As I walked up to the buffet it seemed ok on the surface but not that big of a selection. The sushi bar was empty so I asked where the sushi was and one of the waiters told me that it would be out in a little while that it was being prepared. I'm thinking, it's almost 12pm and no sushi, how professional. Oh and by the way, I wasn't the only one waiting, there was about 5 of us. After the sushi finally arrived I helped myself to a few pieces but noticed right of the bat that it wasn't the freshest but decided to eat a few more pieces because I didn't smell anything bad and I figured it would be ok. I walked around and tried some grilled chicken wings, too. Most of the food was not as hot as I would've liked but just warm, which to me means a strike. After paying $45 for 3 buffets and one drink we left, but as soon as I left I started feeling sick. At first I thought maybe it's just me, but then a few hours later at home my son complained to me that he felt nauseous too. Needless to say I found out we had somehow gotten food poisoning from that place, and spent the rest of the weekend into Monday afternoon in the bathroom smh. Just a heads up beware of this place and trust your gut when going to buffets, no pun intended. read more

The best Chinese buffet in Katy and Houston! Food are always fresh!

I know everyone's experience may be different, but this place was phenomenal! All staff was very attentive and never let beverages go below half-full. I didn't expect the sushi to be at great quality but after seeing the selection and enjoying quite a few choices, I felt like I had gone to a high class sushi bar. All in all, food was fantastic and service was great, will definitely be back! read more

Good when first opened now quality is way down. Expensive for what is now an average at best buffet. Keep driving...

Yuck. Why did I let the hubby convince me to come here? Although, the ambience was on the nicer side for a Chinese buffet.

We were just here and one of the waiter called my black friend monkey and gave us bad service

Mediocre, at best... WAY TOO CROWDED on the weekends - literally, you're sitting less than 2 ft away from the person at the next table...very awkward. read more

I've never been a fan of buffets, but we went here for a family gathering so I had no choice. I came with very low expectations and was pleasantly surprised by the restaurant's decor and cleanliness. Also, the food was better than your standard Chinese buffets. The selection is small, but the quality of the food evens it out, in comparison to other buffet places. read more

Chinese buffets. I'm frequently seduced, but rarely impressed. I often leave feeling as though I'd stuffed myself with a cheap imitation of actual food. Today, though, I was pleasantly surprised. Right around the corner from my husband's childhood home is the recently opened E Star. No big surprises, but lots of fresh seafood, good selection, and everything was fresh and well prepared. The best part, though, was the price. Sunday dinner, $10. This included clams, mussels, raw oysters, sushi and sashimi, several different shrimp dishes, salmon and more. And of course, standards like pepper chicken, beef ribs, noodles, soups, etc. I didn't see anything on their buffet I haven't seen elsewhere, but all of it was fresh and flavorful. And as the previous reviewer mentioned, the price is fantastic for what you get. With a belly full of omega-3s, plus some tapioca pudding, this was a lunch I felt good about. It's nice to leave a Chinese buffet without feeling like I've done something dirty. And I know you know what I mean.... Thanks E Star! read more

It's a buffet, a Chinese buffet at that. NO this is what a Chinese buffet should be, wide variety, fresh food, and very clean locale. This is what makes them better than your typical Chinese buffet. Other reviews can't be wrong. You got to go here. Yee haw! read more

Food is very good and the staff is super friendly. I have never tried anything but the sushi but the staff seems to be attentive to cleanliness. Get there early! read more

The food was freshly made... Very tasty, not bland... Great place for sure... Buffet is well maintained and friendly service... Definitely recommend it read more

went today with my wife and was disappointed. Found hair on our food twice. Waiter said it's from people taking food. He thinks it's was normal and his manager gave a $2.00 discount for the hairs found on our plate. I will not come back to this place again and folks check your food before eating. read more

Good buffet for seafood lovers. Mussels, crabs, salmon, etc. Large, very fresh sushi selection. Chicken dishes are skillfully prepared and noted if spicy. Staff is pleasant. Price is modest. Cleanliness is average as the dining room is beginning to show its age. Overall a good occasional stop for a quick lunch. read more

This place has a lot of choices and everything seems to be fresh. The sushi is pretty good for a buffet and the place is clean compared to others. I would have given this place 4 starts if it wasn't for some of their servers and managers. I came with a group of 6 people and the place was half empty. However, the server dropped the check way too early and came several times kinda of rushing us. I know it's not a fine dining place but please teach them how to be courteous and don't be so obvious. Every single guest should have a good dinning experience. read more

Continues to blow my mind. What is going on with the peanut chicken? I swear it's better ever time. The veggie fried rice and lo mein are good every time. Same favorites there every visit, with a few newbies thrown in for a surprise. read more

This place is usually hit or miss with their dishes. Their service is usually great, so we appreciate that. Since it's a buffet, it's usually about the quantity, not quality, but they do focus on some of their yummy flavors there, such as the fried soft shell crab or their grilled pork. Other dishes are mediocre at best, but there are enough good dishes to want us to return. It's probably one of the better buffets in the world of Chinese buffets. read more

My husband loved it but I was not a huge fan. None of their sushi was labeled which was a let down. Kids running wild all over, people shoving you to get to items. It was only 6pm so long before dinner rush. I am fairly picky so I didn't have many options. I'd never come back on my own but my husband definitely would. The service was really great and it was very clean with interesting decor. read more

Foods pretty great for a buffet but I think it is all hugely overpriced. There are other places that offer the same that are significantly cheaper. If you're on a budget this isn't the place to go. read more

This place is great, one of the best buffet restaurants in the area. The interior is very cozy and the lighting is perfect for when you go on a Friday night, or any day of the week. My favorite part of this place is the sushi, as it's of good quality and made very well. The hand rolls are great and satisfying. As for the rest of the buffet, it's okay, although still quite tasty. Never have had a bad experience with the staff, they clear out my dishes and refill my drinks in a very timely manner. I'll definitely be coming here again whenever the mood strikes. read more

Eh it was ok. Definitely not great. Service was good though. The selections seemed limited and the food wasnt as fresh as I hoped but for the price I think it served its purpose. I think I'll try a different buffet next time I'm craving Chinese. read more

It's ok. I don't really get the awesome reviews that it receives. Not much variety. The standard fare. Service is inconsistent and kind of unfriendly. Not much too talk about. read more

Ok Sushi, good Chinese food, however, to me their main attraction is their roasted wings. The service is good and the place is clean.

This is just horrible the chicken was either fried or covered in spicy sauce the business looks huge on the outside but the buffet is small not a lot to choose from as buffets go I was very disappointed read more

For an inexpensive Chinese buffet you can't ask for anything more, huge variety, good service, always fresh, and reasonably clean. A must try if you are in the area and NOT dieting. read more
