1 Star Review I visited China Super Buffet and it was one of the worst dining experiences I've had in Katy. The food tasted old, rubbery, and completely flavorless. Everything was cold and far from fresh. They're advertising "new management," but honestly, they need to replace whoever's in charge because nothing has improved. Overall, this is the worst Chinese buffet in Katy -- definitely not worth the visit read more

Missing many menu Items. Last night, we went for dinner and noticed about 1/3 of the regular menu items were completely absent: - Korean Chicken - Salt and pepper rib-lets - Mongolian Beef - Sweet and Sour chicken Yet the price of the Buffet remains the same. It seems like they are cutting costs to remodel and install large flat screen TVs at the expense of the customer. read more

I liked it everything I tried on the buffet.. people are trippin leaving 1 star... it's not the best I've had but it wasn't at all bad.

Went for lunch and would have turned around at the door had my parents not been treating us. We were shown to our table and were pretty much disgusted at the condition of the seats. They were extremely cracked and really gross. We managed to find a table with no ripped up seating. The food was average best. The carpets were worn out and are in extreme need of replacing. I am a firm believer that if the front of the house is dirty or in disrepair then the back of the house is way worse. I would strongly suggest that with all the places available to eat in Katy, you skip this place. read more

New remodel, food is good. I like the sweet sour soup especially, it is so delicious. One can choose from many types of food.

This place is so horrible I recommend not coming here if you don't like old left out nasty food. Food is cold and dried out.

This place is barely a two star. The food is below average no flavor temperature issues. This is definitely a one and done for me.

This place is disgusting I do not recommend will never come back Nothing is good besides the fruit read more

Food wasn't fresh barely any dishes not enough variety will not be returning. It was pretty disappointing. I thought it would've tasted better. The food had a weird taste to it. It didn't even taste like Chinese food. There was rarely anyone there. It was pretty quiet and empty And the workers were on their phone. Drinks were water down not enough napkins. There are far better places to go to. The ambiance was somber and not at all what I expected it was so tiny for a buffet and the food tasted old. read more

My family and I love coming to this Buffet.. waitresses are nice and attentive. I guess we get lucky when we come in cus the food is good. Idk. We will continue to come for a full belly. read more

My wife and kids discovered this place, and have brought me along a few times. My experience has always been good. The food I've tried has been tasty, which I can't say of the much nicer looking Chinese buffet a little further east on I-10. But if you're looking for atmosphere, this isn't the place. It's a zero atmosphere buffet with delicious food. When I've been, the servers have been attentive when our drinks need a refill, or used plates need to be cleared. read more

Place needs renovations and the staff is very rude. I got a 'to go' box and the lady kept yelling something I couldn't understand; finally she opened my box and was saying i had too much seafood and would have to pay and extra 6.99 a lb; I don't like to make trouble so I smiled and obliged but she remained rude and short with me I think the seafood is more because it may be the only fresh food. The beef is terrible I was so glad to get out of there. read more

The worst experience I've ever had a Chinese I talk to the manager and said the eggrolls were soggy. All of the fried food was cold and her response was where's your ticket? Didn't even understand English and the problems that I had with the food and demanded we pay full price if you are a traditional American do not step foot in this place. read more

No real variety no matter when you come & pricey. There were no stand out dishes, which disappointed me highly. A variety of dishes are available, which includes some sushi and ice cream you scoop out yourself from big barrels, but no real deal food could actually draw me to this place. This is a stop if I am already in the area shopping and just have the urge to eat mounds of just okay Chinese food that is slightly over priced. read more

This place used to be so good and was one of our favorite spots, but it has changed so much. Came down here to eat with my brother and mom and the waiter was trying to make us pay even tho we're weren't done eating. She was telling us to hurry up and would insist we pay now. As for the food, it wasn't too bad. Just wish they had more variety and more flavor read more

If I could leave zero stars I would, the service was terrible our waiter was rude and disrespectful she rolled her eyes at my wife while she was taking the empty plate, she spilled our drinks on the table and didn't even bother cleaning it up, she slammed out to go drinks on the table, and if that wasnt enough she took it upon herself to input that I tipped when I didn't. THATS THEFT!!! read more

Amazing! After a long day exploring Houston and stopping at three different restaurants to find they had just closed we found this gem. Best food all vacation. The buffet was closed but they still gave us delicious eats to go. Much love from the Colorado Mountains. read more

know that I only chose one star because I couldn't choose 0 this place was so horrible racist to the fullest I decided to have a night out with my children and we was racially profiled by an older woman. we don't deserve that treatment we was trying to be so polite even tho she was clearly treating us different. She said we needed to pay for our food before we eat and we agreed, during the payment process the worker walked away to help a couple that just walked in I couldn't believe I watched her seat them and didn't ask them to pay. We asked her why the different treatment and she said with no hesitation because we wanted to know the fee. And she said it out loud in front of everyone I was embarrassed and hurt. My kids was sad because we never experienced that in las Vegas smh it's sick!!!! I have a video, but I can't post it read more

Ate dinner, mid week, no one else in the restaurant. Should have been a warning. Food tasted old and was tough, including the pastry desserts. Very little interaction with the staff. Won't be back. read more

Found a dead roach on the slice of cake I was eating. It seemed frozen... disgusting. The waiter which seated us was nice.

So glad to be able to go in and sit down, staff is very friendly. Food was great, lots of options at the buffet! Will return for more soon, food was hot and yummy read more

Okay but overpriced. My son likes to come here, so we do a few times a year. They have a large selection of things to choose from, there are 5 tables. However, I find most of the Chinese type dishes to be very bland. We miss when they used to have frog legs and crab. Yesterday both my son and I had stomach issues about a half hour after eating here, so not sure if we'll be back. read more

My husband and I stopped here for a quick lunch which turned out not to be so quick because we ate so much. We've eaten at China buffet restaurants in many places over the years and our expectations were low. What a nice surprise to find a vast array of delicious food. I expected the fried food to be disgustingly greasy and fried in stale oil, so I took only tiny servings of a couple of dishes. Another surprise: the oil was fresh and they were well-drained. The dim sum dumplings were disappointing. Both dough and filling were dry and tough, and fried shrimp still had legs and shells?? I generally avoid dessert, but did try a small square of coffee flavored cake. I would have devoured the remaining third of a tray if I hadn't already been so full. Overall, the food we had here was similar in taste and quality to much of the food we had on a China tour ten years ago, and we thought our lunch was an excellent value. read more

Cockroaches cold food bad atmosphere dirty filthy bathrooms!!!!! i can't believe that the host was still trying to sit us in the booth (even after i said cockroach !! OMG!! )with a live cockroach at the head of the booth!!! Crawling on the table & fell on the floor. Upside down. WTF!!! We've been to this restaurant 2 times this being our 2nd the 1st time we thought "huh.. maybe they're short staffed or just had a rush of business & that's why the floor has a lot of food on it & tables are not wiped off." & Again that same day we thought "maybe there dishwasher is broken that's why there's food stuck on the plates and utensils." Our waitress did bring us out clean dishes but after waiting for a while. I remember thinking "huh that's weird I thought I put on lip balm not pink lipstick as I sipped tea from a coffee mug." Looking down at it. Come to find out that cup was dirty & most likely the contents from the last person was dumped out & mine poured into it. This mug hadn't even been cleaned. Here I was drinking from a dirty cup with the other persons lipstick on my bottom lip. I SCREAMED!! & complained I was about to loose my Mind and we were about to leave. you don't understand..the things I thought of ugh I was so disgusted. At that moment the manager walked over and told us our meal was free and invited us back again. We reluctantly accepted & thought "well at least their trying to fix the problem " I said. The last strike!! (Leading up too the cockroach I spoke about in the beginning of this post.) We walked in about two weeks later and spoke with the manager maybe... He was just having a bad day. I don't know but he was very agitated & irritated I tried to break the ice but he seemed PISSED! He then proceeded to walk us to a booth on the way I told my husband "Jon! look on the floor" there was baby roaches swept in a corner with the broom leaning against the wall. The only server they had walked from back there towards us as I started screaming OMG!! A cockroach crawling on the freaking table and fell on the head of the booth upside down. They said " no no it's okay we clean you sit & eat buffet okay" we responded " Ohh Hell No!! and left." I wish we could give them a -negative -29 & close them down!!!! the one star is not! I repeat not!! positive it's the lowest rate you can give . If this is what we saw/witnessed what insects or vermin do they have crawling around in the kitchen that we don't see !!!!!! It's obvious their not clean and infested Take heed!! beware!!!!! If you care about your wellbeing go somewhere else!!! I understand that even a clean home like mine will have a few outside critters now & then but this was a no no. On top of dirty dishes cockroaches and a bad attitude HELL NO! beware!!!! roach infested!!! may cause food poisoning!! read more

All these negative comments crack me up. You people realize it's a fast food type place, not a 5 star restaurant in downtown Houston. Stop being food snobs and grow up. You want a cheap dinner, deal with it. Problem is, you want a $10 meal with a $200 quality. Sheezzz, you cheap brats. read more

I'll make this one short and sweet. About 20% of the food is OK here. 15% is pretty good. 65% of the food here is either slightly passed, rotten or old AF. Case in point: Had to spit out a good amount of food or pass on the things that smelled awful/looked stale/etc. Then I trusted the chocolate pudding after their mint chocolate chip was on point... Big mistake, it was R O T T E N (barfed up half my meal in the sink of the men's restroom). The wife and I like cheap Chinese food from time to time. We came in here happy and not expecting much. Instead, we left feeling awful and thoroughly dissatisfied. Make cheap Chinese food, that's fine. Add MSG, go ahead. But DO NOT undercook your food. DO NOT let your food go bad. DO NOT serve stale food. DO NOT serve R O T T E N food. DO NOT mess with people's well being. Serving this kind of crap can kill the wrong person, I must say, I was gonna let a lot slide, but honestly...this place should be shut down. Between that, the old, almost bad lemons they served us with our water and the bug on the torn seats...yeah, I'm done. They took my wife and I from being cheerful to being sad, dissatisfied and sick. Don't come here. It's simply not worth it. They don't care. They'll probably be shut down any day now. Thanks for reading. read more

Me gusta! It's way better than the buffets in my hometown. Much much more decent than the buffets I have ever been to. When I walked in I was like whoaa this place is empty--hardly any customers. There was a huge selection of foods to choose from. Ribs to chow mein to salted shrimp to crawfish to cheese wonton to salmon to all sorts of food. I was a little bummed out that there wasn't a huge variety of sushi. It was just like the typical california roll =( The spring rolls were decent. I loved how they had real ice cream. The ice cream wasn't really dense and thick...somewhat soft. read more

No. Not just no, but "H3LL NO!" We had a bad experience with this establishment from the second we walked in. First off, the lady who seated us was terribly rude. We walked, in she grabbed two sets of silverware and said l, "go," while directing us to our table by waving her arms. I guess my boyfriend wasn't moving fast enough for her so she again said, "go," in a louder tone. We ordered our drinks and of course already had an uneasy feel about the place. After taking our drinks order, she started loudly speaking in her language to a co-worker across the building. At this point, we should have just left. The building certainly has a dirty appeal to it but the buffet made it seem even worse. There was dropped food on the floor all around each buffet table, splilled food all over the buffet table and then came the "crawling of the roach" on our second trip to the buffet. I really, really wish I could have gotten a picture of it, but I can tell you it was headed right out of the salmon. Yuck, this was the last straw, I immediately felt sick. We then just paid for our meal and left. The food we did eat was normal Chinese buffet food, the selection was above average although the temperature of the food lacked several degrees. The rude waitress never returned to our table, and I was actually okay with that. Please, just don't do it .....we sure won't be giving them another try. read more

It's been a while since I've had to give a restaurant a bad review that was this bad. 1 star!? Several ROTTEN items in the mix here, my tummy is seriously on the brink, my mouth feels like it has a stinging sensation from RN CANNED peaches that were FERMENTED! :( my husband got sick. Like so sick he threw up in the bathroom sick! I smelled the rice he has started to eat! Food that you leave out in your kitchen for a few days without refrigerating doesn't smell this bad!!!! It was rotten! The yellow rice was ROTTEN! As in GARBAGE. As in we should call the state to shut these people down rotten! The egg rolls had rotten lettuce or something in them. The crab rangoons were bad- as in passed. The chocolate pudding was rotten! The tapioca pudding at first taste tasted yummy then as u took another bite I tasted the fermentation and sourness of the TAPIOCA PUDDING! :( how the f*k do you let tapioca pudding go bad? I'm thinking they used bad milk to make this stuff? The banana pudding was bad, it had clearly been made with old bananas and then has been mixed in with more water to extend it was TERRIBLE! I feel like the 'chef' hates people! As in he wishes he didn't have to serve any humans! OmG! I don't know what to say. Food and safety needs to inspect this place. I have a headache now. Who knows why, if from the bad food or from the msg probably used in it Ok all fairness it's our fault for coming to a $10 Chinese buffet I guess!?!? But sometimes we crave some good ol'cheap Chinese. Just didn't expect it to be a disaster! So gross. Yuk! Yuk! I get nauseous just remember the smell of that yellow rice. How fucken gross! :( read more

Hard to be very descriptive here since it is a Buffet. The food is acceptable, by no means great but then again I do not know of any 'All You Can Eat Buffet with remarkable food or service. If you are hungry, have lot's of children and are not picky about institutional Chinese food...feel free to go. If you are any or all of the aforementioned you should likely find a different place to eat. read more

It is April 2017 and I decided to go to this place again. Absolutely terrible food, quality of which has deteriorated significantly since I went there first time in 2014. Everything is sticky, forks are far away from being sterile. And it is not cheap - "dinner" for 3 people is north of $40. Don't go there. read more

Went here for lunch today with coworkers, and there was a giant roach crawling on the wall. Half of us were completely turned off and didn't finish our meal. We called the girl over, and she went and got a broom to knock it off the wall then swatted it a few times before picking it up with paper. When we were leaving and stated that we were too disgusted to finish our meal, we were told that the roach was not in our food so we still had to pay. I understand that places get bugs, and I'm definitely not out looking for a free meal, but do something to try and make it right. All they could say was I'm sorry. I just hope they use the money I spent on an exterminator! read more
