I live in California and ordered online a dozen assorted cupcakes through Seamless/Grubhub for my niece's birthday, who lives in the Bronx. The entire ordering process was easy and convenient, and the cupcakes were delivered in less than an hour! The price for the dozen cupcakes, delivery, and tip was very reasonable, especially for a last-minute birthday surprise. My niece was happy, and I was so impressed with how easy the whole experience was. I would definitely order from E & L Bakery Cafe again and highly recommend this bakery! read more

Ordered via Uber Eats. The driver messaged me and said they didn't have the item. Instead of cancelling it, they told me I had to cancel it, which would mean I still get charged for the food and I didn't get the food. I called the bakery and the woman on the phone was rude. Do not recommend . read more

The best bakery anywhere around absolute adore them. Great customer service just amazing. I can't wait to go back.

Ordered through Grub delivery a carrot birthday cake. The writing was so mediocre like a 5 year old did it. No attempt to truly "decorate" for the price. SMH. And GrubHub left on the step. Never again. -drKLG read more

ALL pastries are DELICIOUS!!! and smell so damn good. Staff is helpful and courteous.

I was really excited to try this place but was very disappointed. I got the sweet potato pie and It was not god. It tasted uncooked. The crust was completely separate from the filling and the crust was doughy and soft. The filling wasn't sweet and I couldn't really tel that it was sweet potato. This place is also cash only so that just seems unfitting and outdated. read more

I've been purchasing cakes from E&L bakery for over 25 years and they've always made my event memorable. The baker works hard to ensure customer satisfaction and he is very detailed in his designs. The cakes taste wonderful and I highly recommend them. I'd like to include a photo of my daughter's graduation cake, they did a marvelous job. I'm so pleased with them. read more

Spending the weekend visiting the area, I satisfied my pregnancy craving by completing a 'Cannoli Tour' (meaning I ordered a cannoli every time one appeared on the menu-or I passed a bakery). Having started with E&L Bakery, a very high cannoli bar was set-and after eating five competing cannolis from the area-I can confidently say theirs was by far the most delicious. A large chocolate covered cannoli-filled upon ordering-the crust was flaky, crispy, and super tasty- the filling was the perfect cannoli blend, with a few mini chocolate chips within-by far my favorite of the weekend- I am already begging my friend to bring me in a box when she visits. The service was super friendly, quick to order & fill. Note: Cash Only! read more

I was looking for a place to order a cake for a birthday on Uber Eats and E and L Bakery came highly rated. I looked on their website and loved their different cake designs. Everything they offer on their menu is so festive and creative. I love the idea of having sports, cartoons, or any other kind of designs on your cake. You don't find many great bakeries in the White Plains area that know how to make great desserts. I placed an order for a cheesecake. It came on time and was worth the money. It was a large cake with lots of flavor. It was not too sweet and filled everyone up. My family absolutely loved it. I want to order another one for the next family event. I can't wait to visit here in person once things get back to normal. This is now my new go to location for dessert orders! read more

A Great Find. I placed an order for a custom cake for the first time ever. When I spoke to the owner on the phone he was extremely helpful and friendly. Not all stressed out frazzled like many owners I've dealt with. Even without a commitment from me he took the time to walk me through the things I needed to consider, & he gave me realistic price quotes. At the store I met with an extremely knowledgeable and helpful young woman who wasn't pushy about what I should do. But once I let her know that I wanted to rely on her experience she helped me quickly, efficiently, & deliciously pick out the perfect custom combination, making sure that I understood the reason she was making particular choices. I was able to easily text over an image of what I wanted to see on the cake. It was literally perfect & on time when I arrived to pick it up. My party guests LOVED the dessert. I felt that the price I paid was very fair for the quality, work, & service received. BONUS: Other places I called in Pelham & Westchester told me they were too busy to give me a cake with less than 1 week's notice? Really? It's a cake. Not a car rental. E&L was not at all daunted by my 2-day turnaround time. This is my go-to place now. It should be yours too. 2 things: - CASH ONLY - PARKING STINKS read more

overall cake is a no, cheese cake tasted like fridge. I am a very tasty buds type of girl, there chocolate cake great once it's fresh. Brought a 50$ cake red velvet n vanilla. Horrible cake my guest was not happy at all, way to much frosting and a thin cake batter. So wrong I am pissed to say the least. should have went to national bakery on allerton Avenue in the bronx.. I have made many purchases from this bakery, and the only things that I had a problem with is that at was a cash only establishment but I rode by there today and saw a big Sign saying they now accept EBT and although I do not have EBT its nice to know that if I ever do get EBT and those who do currently have EBT now have that option. I am sure they will get alot more business because of that option. read more

I ordered my first cake from here yesterday and man o man, I am happy I did! I preferred the lemons layer cake and it was absolutely delish!! The cake itself tasted as if it was made from scratch! The texture was on point. The lemon buttercream frosting was light, sweet and tangy all in one. I am excited to try other products from E&L. So far, they hit it out of the park with the lemon layer cake! Great job. read more

I love this bakery since I started going three years ago it's been nothing but the best the cakes are not too sweet, not wet at all I've tasted some cakes and they were soggy, the store is very clean, the staff is very respectful and kind they are also helpful. They care about their customers and the satisfaction of our needs and that's what makes this place shine bright like a diamond I just wish they would have keep the food stamps for the cakes but oh well that don't stop me from going there and ordering my cakes, I will pay food stamps, cash whatever to get me a slice or cake from this spot it's the best, I recommend that everyone come out and order their cakes from here read more

Recently ordered a cake from Ubereats. I was so happy they actually had full cakes available. I was able to have them write something on the cake as well which i loved. I ordered candles with my cake and that didn't arrive. I asked for a Red Velvet cake with cream cheese frosting. The cake looked absolutely beautiful. I loved it. The cream cheese frosting was NOT good at all. Tasted like horrible butter cream or something. The cake was good but the layers are thin so there's no missing the nasty frosting. I will give this place another try soon. Maybe try some of the smaller items or buy a pie or something. I'll def stay away from the cakes for now. read more

This bakery NEVER disappoints me! I ordered a cake on Thursday (last min) that I needed for Sunday. I called and spoke with "the baker" maybe 3-4 times before I actually placed my order. I wish I could put zero!! the deliver guys REFUSED to come to my apartment. when I put on the notes prior I couldn't come physically downstairs. when I cal the restaurant the man on the phone was so disrespectfu! He wouldn't help me; told me to find a customer service number myself. I tried finding and couldn't and when I call back for help asking serval items he had the nerve to say to me "Do you understand the words that are coming out of my mouth!!??" So disgusting, what a RACIST remark!! He then told me to call back and speak to the manager and talk to him about how to run his bu. DON'T GIVE THEM ANY MONEY!! read more

The lemon cake looked beautiful, but tasted very ugly. I will never buy a cake from this place, the cake I had was bought for me. The store cakes and boxed cake you make yourself have way better flavor than the lemon cake from here did. It was dry, crumbly, had absolutely no butter flavor, it was like eating flavoless nothing. It was actually the worst lemon cake I have ever had, and lemon is my favorite cake. Never again!!. People are paying for the good looks of the cakes, because they have absolutely NO flavor. read more

THIS is one of the BEST bakeries IN THE WORLD as far as I am concerned!!! Their cheese danishes, brownies & butter cookies are ABSOLUTELY delicious. I have had a cake slice here & there as well enjoyed them thoroughly. The cakes look EXTREMELY beautiful. Everything is ALWAYS fresh. They open early & close late which makes things extremely convenient for their Customers. The #2 train stops right there. I CAN NOT SAY ENOUGH about this WONDERFUL bakery!!! The Owner has pride in his bakery and works hard. Sometimes, I believe I even see the Owner's Mother there helping out. GIVE E & L BAKERY YOUR BUSINESS BECAUSE I GUARANTEE YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!!! read more

The cupcakes are definitely made with boxed cake mix. It lacks that mild density that you get with, from scratch batter. I could tell instantly when I bit into the red velvet cupcake, cause my wife has made box red velvet cake many times before. It's really a shame because they are decorated beautifully. The cannolis are the one saving grace but again it lacks that creamy ricotta flavor. It's almost as if they're filling them with "mild cheese" cool whip. No amount of convincing can tell me that that is not box mix. The vanilla cupcake however tastes very good although the frosting is not the best. They use the same frosting for the vanilla and red velvet cupcake as well because the red velvet lacks that cream cheese flavor in the frosting. read more

Their quality has decreased. That was my family's spot for desserts. Past couple times the quality was so bad. The cupcakes taste like it could have been from the grocery store. The strawberry cheesecake tasted super acidic. Saddening that there isn't any passion in there sweets. read more

It is truly a disgrace that at this point in the 21st century this bakery doesn't accept debit or credit cards. It is extremely inconvenient and a slap in the face to customers. I fell in love with their red velvet cake about 12 years ago and I'm still in love with them! AMAZING! I love everything this bakery has to offer. Especially their cannolis and cupcakes. Their cookies are also wonderful. I ordered my dads birthday cake from here and they did everything exactly how I wanted. Will definitely continue to support their business! read more

Thee absolute worst bakery. You order a cake and they give you whatever they want. I ordered a chocolate cake with vanilla buttercream and cannoli cream inside. I ended up with a white cake with whipped cream frosting inside and out. I tried again the next month for my mom's birthday, I ordered the same cake thinking that the first time was an innocent mishap and I ended up with the same white cake with whipped cream and I paid extra both times for my order that I never got. A close family friend also ordered from this bakery to celebrate the life of her deceased mother. They messed up her cake order as well and she had to run around last minute for a replacement. Go to Artuso in little Italy, they're wayyyyyyy better! P.S to the owner, stop responding rudely to your bad reviews and work on fixing your business before you lose it. Stay blessed. read more
