    strawberry crunch parfait cake
    Chey T.

TLDR: expensive and inconvenient policies for an average product. $10 extra to write happy birthday on a cake, no large bills accepted and 4% credit card surcharge. the cake I ordered was moist, but nothing special flavor profile wise. I was looking to order a bday cake, and saw this bakery online. It looked awesome so I went to check it out 2 weeks before the birthday. When I entered, I was told that they were not taking orders for cakes right now, and don't know when they will be but try to call a few days later to see if they are then. - Somewhat weird, but okay. While in store, got a few cupcakes to try out and they were good, I also looked through their cake book to see a description of each, bc this was not available online. The girl working was friendly and told me they charge extra for credit cards, they also do not accept $50 or $100 bills. Inconvenient, but ok. She also said- you don't have to come in to order, just call us next time. I walked out feeling like I looked like a weirdo for trying to do an in person order. So I call on the date they had told me to, and they were accepting orders. Then they told me that it would be $10 extra to write happy birthday on the cake. - ?? Seriously?? I said fine, forget the writing. Then they reminded me of the credit card surcharge, I said oh I'll just pay cash. Then told me they need payment to take the order. AKA- I could not pay when I pick up the cake and had to pay now. Therefore, I had to pay the stupid 4% surcharge. Again, I get it, but then why did the girl originally tell me I didn't have to bother coming in to order, and just to call. It would have been nice if she said "you can call to order if you're using a card, or come in person for cash". I like to support local businesses but this was a lot of hoops to jump through and added expenses. I thought at least the cakes gonna SLAP. But when we tasted it- we were all like eh. It wasn't anything special. I was expecting it to be more like a good humor bar flavor based on the description. Next time I'll just get a cake from a grocery store.

2 vanilla, 1 strawberry cheese cake, and 1 Red Velvet Cupcake

Went in on New Year's eve. Had a huge craving for cupcakes. I got 2 vanilla, 1 strawberry cheesecake, and a red velvet. They were all great. The strawberry cheesecake was to die for! Loved how the cupcake had a real strawberry filling. The staff was awesomely nice. Considering I caught them right before closing time they were happy to see me. The young lady who rung me up even complimented my nails. Overall such a positive experience. Definitely going back when I'm in town.

Cupcakes I picked up for Mother's Day. They were truly amazing!

After coming here for my usual chocolate covered strawberries, I never had the chance to try the cupcakes. Aurora the owner has always told me to try them and this time I gave them a try. I must say she did not let me down the cupcakes were amazing and were very moist. Me being a baker was skeptical about trying the cupcakes but she did not let me down. These are amazing and a must try!

    Some of the delicious cupcakes!

How is the red velvet cake?

Hi Michelle! Happy holidays! Blue Velvet and Red velvet are our top sellers. Both very good! Blue is vanilla based and Red is cocoa based.

You see, as I was randomly scrolling through Yelp trying to come up with some potential food stops, this popped up. I happen to love Butcher Block in Queens and figured maybe this would be similar. Well, this was smaller than I expected, but there was still plenty for me to choose from, and choose, I did. Got a can of mushy peas. I like mushy peas. So what? Also got some bangers. Not touching that one... And a couple housemade frozen pot pies, including chicken curry and steak & kidney. Wish me luck with that second one. Never tried kidney before. I think they also sell sausage rolls and fry up fish & chips on the spot for you. Though don't quote me on either. Plus they carry various Irish biscuits, chocolates and whatnot. I was fascinated by the Woodlawn neighborhood where this is located. It's apparently known as "Little Ireland,' made obvious, indeed, by the various pubs, markets, and restaurants I happened upon nearby. I had no bloody clue! Can't believe what an eejit I am. NYC, I hardly knew ye. For real. 'Twas probably the luck 'o the Irish. Me winding up here. How else to explain it.
