I came in to shop on a Friday around 5:30. The store was not very busy at all. The guy who is behind the counter is friendly enough and was helping me to find some hummus. He then said they made fresh hummus and offered me a taste of it before I purchased it. It was good so I agreed to a small container with olive oil and cut up green peppers. My wife, who's Turkish, likes to shop here b/c they sell alot of Turkish food products here. She likes it here. I also enjoy the Falafel & the Shawarma sandwiches! I like to dip the sandwiches directly into the hummus.. it's f'ing delicious!! I have to say the prices are medium to expensive here. PS there is a parking lot. But it can be confusing if it's your first time here. Afterwards, you'll figure the best way to drive into the lot. read more

So I came to pick up some afghani naan & got Lebanese bread instead, it was a tough choice! They have so many great bread including manakish! But I tried the stuffed grape leaves for the first time & they were delicious! I also had a spinach pie but made the mistake of asking them to heat it up and they did in the microwave instead of the oven & that ruined its texture. Note to self just bring it home & throw it in the air fryer. I'm so grateful I live near this place, it's truly a ! Happy Yelping read more

I bought meat a couple of times , this store is expensive and the meat quality is terrible, there is one guy he is nice and knows how to deal with customers, but the others are horrible, you don't feel welcomed, and they are not friendly , there a section where u can buy ready made food like hummus kibba, or shishkabab, the food also terrible, all food we order for eid breakfast was too greasy and had a sour taste. I don't recommend this place to no one . read more

Al Rayyan is a specialty grocery store in Yonkers serving the community that is shopping for Halal meat and other products typical of Arab countries. It is a very clean and well run market with a friendly staff. read more

I love this store. I used to travel to Patterson to get my favorite Arabic yogurts. This place is very clean and has everything I need. Including tasbeh and all my Arabic needs. Talk about terrible customer service! My mother bought some Turkish Delight while we were next door at Mavis, but they had a strange taste. We went back to return them and the man we spoke to was incredibly rude and refused to refund or replace the candies. He even ate one of the candies and said they tasted fine, that's how they are supposed to taste and that we were wrong to try bringing them back. After that, we asked he at least pay for the candy he ate and he gave us one quarter. Gee, thanks. I'll never come back here again, nor recommend it to anyone I know! Unless they like stale and tasteless Turkish Delight and nasty customer service. read more

Bad service, prices on the high end by comparison to other middle eastern grocers, and major attitude problem.

They made the worst Gatayef ever! I tried to stuff them with nuts and cheese and they completely fell apart! It was a complete waste of 5 dollars for a pack! DONT BUY IT FROM THEIR STORE!! It used to be a great place,food was delicious. When I get first 3 times beef and chicken shawarma I was in heaven, but later it was down the hill. The last was just plain bread with meat nothing else. I am disappointed from this place. Even veggie for plates are couple days old. And prices on products went sky high! I've been looking for a place in Yonkers with good quality Arabic food and I found it in Al Rayyan. The staff were very friendly and the food was great. We found out about Al Rayyan when we were having a holiday party last year and wanted to serve Middle Eastern based food, especially lamb sausage. We used to get the sausage at a small place on Atlantic Avenue, and were set to make the trip from Westchester, but found they no longer carried them. While searching for a possible local source, we came across Al Rayyan, which is not listed on Yelp as a Middle Eastern grocery, which it most definitely is. We found that they have fresh lamb sausage weekly, and called ahead to reserve 10 pounds. They also had ground lamb that we ordered ahead as well. The lamb and chicken schawarma sandwiches they make are worth the trip alone, and our daughter is always asking to make the short trip to pick some up. They carry all the Middle Eastern spices, cheeses, breads, pastries, beans, candies, drinks, fruits and vegetables. When we just visited, they even had fresh almonds (in season). The people who work there are all extremely pleasant and helpful in answering any questions you may have. I hope Yelp changes the categories to reflect the correct ethnicity of the store...it is no wonder there haven't been any recent Yelp reviews. Highly recommended! read more
