It's not super fast because it's made-order. 1. Perfectly cooked egg 5/5 2. Amazing roll 5/5 3. Vibe just like all the NOLA neighborhood joints 5/5 4. Rooster's Market has been sitting in my bookmarks for a while. I don't typically gravitate towards deli food, but the reviews and pictures looked great - and since I was looking for lunch I thought it was the perfect opportunity to check Rooster's out. Rooster's is located on Gedney Way, away from the main commercial strip of downtown White Plains but situated among several other businesses in the area. Walking in, I was greeting with a pretty large space - to call this place a deli is a misnomer has it also offers grocery and a butcher. The space was larger than I expected, and is super clean and organized. I made my way towards the deli section; while there's the option to build your own sandwich, I wanted to explore their specialty selections. The Godfather stood out to me the most - this contained prosciutto, sopressata, pepperoni, provolone, roasted peppers, and Italian dressing. The sandwich was good - the ingredients were fresh and there was good ratio of bread to filling. Service was fast and friendly, and overall I was really impressed with Rooster's. This seems to be a staple in the community and I can see why - the food is fresh, the store is clean, and the service is friendly. well I will start by saying everyone working here is beyond nice, very thoughtful and kind people. I should preface this review with saying I am very Italian and I broke the rule of thumb. I went out and got eggplant parm and pasta which I normally do not do. needless to say I did not like it. the eggplant wasn't breaded which is not a dealbreaker but more of a personal preference, but more than that, the actual eggplant was sliced too thick and was not cooked in the center, so it was raw eggplant with cheese and sauce. I will not speak poorly in the sauce, if your Italian you believe your nonna has the best sauce and that's final, so I am bias on that matter. It was apparent that the food was just chilling under a heat like for hours, and it wasn't very pleasant to eat. I called to place an order over the phone when a woman named Erica answered the phone and was very rude like she was doing me a favor. I been going to Rooster's for years, but no customer service when I call in and she answers the phone. What's worse I have referred friends to Rooster's they have experience the same when calling in orders. It's a shame. read more

Food: The portion is ginormous. We got big beautiful generous wedges for $9.99, loaded. The chicken cutlets were well made, tasty. This establishment ACTUALLY uses FRESH mozzarella whereas some other places say that and it is not fresh. The mozzarella was good. The wedge bread was fresh. The hash browns on my sandwich managed to stay crispy and not get soggy. The only thing I can say is that the condiments were lacking. We ordered two different types of sandwiches. One with ranch as the condiment and the other with chipotle mayo as the condiment. Three sandwiches total. All three of us agreed that the sandwiches were a little on the dry side and needed more of that missing condiment. Again, all ingredients were fresh and that is a major plus. Other: I have a few things to say here. For one, the cooks in the kitchen may need to be watched a little closer. The way that they speak to each other sounds very unprofessional and because they assume that nobody ordering speaks Spanish, they assume that no one will understand. It was kind of like listening to the guys in a baseball dugout or a bar talk and think that no one is listening. One employee was also eating behind the counter. You don't make sandwiches for people and also put food in your mouth. Whether or not that employee was/was not on a break (idk), you shouldn't be within the area. It's not a good look and unhygienic. Also, if you're going in with a mask on, prepare to feel judged for your decision as nobody else will be wearing one and they will stare at you. It's also a little bit tight quarters in there I actually stepped on some kids feet. At one point I stepped up to the deli counter to speak with an employee and then I went to back up to return to my spot I was literally just standing in and there this kid was. He was already in the space I was just waiting in. I also wanted to call my order in originally for pick up and they told me over the phone that they were not accepting orders over the phone at the moment. Interesting because when I got there it wasn't that busy and there were a lot of employees behind the deli counter. In other good news... they have tap-to-pay but will be disappointed when they learn you're not paying in cash. All considered, the food was good... read more

Was in the area for work and had a short window to grab a quick bite. Yelp reviews are stellar, so figured we couldn't go wrong. Timing wasn't great since it was quite busy and the line for the deli counter was too long for us to wait. So, we found the pre made salads and grabbed a couple of drinks to go. The lady at the front couldn't have been any less friendly even though I always go out if my way to say "please", "thank you" and "have a nice day". I didn't even get a grunt. Whatever. We had no idea where to find salad dressing and I sure wasn't going to ask anyone. Again-whatever. I got partially through my salad and there was a semi rotten piece of dirty lettuce, so I put that aside. Should have stopped there. Shortly thereafter I found a hair. Not my hair. Someone else's. Not happy. Threw the rest of the salad away. Under normal circumstances I would have let someone at the establishment know and maybe asked for a refund or replacement, but the lack of customer service had me just move along, get back to work and stay hungry until dinner. read more

Rooster's Market was our pick as it was not far off the route we were taking home. Food: Wraps were flavorful, packed with meats and add ons, and reasonably priced. The menu has been posted before so I did not take a picture of it it but many options and a Build your own option too. I additionally learned that a "Wedge" is the same as a hero/sub/grinder/hoagie. Wait: We were walk-ins and waited about 15 minutes which is we not unreasonable for us. For 12:45 on a beautiful, summer Saturday they were busy but no one was disgruntled with the waiting. Other: Market had a variety of other grocery items including a fresh butcher. Staff was friendly and accommodating. While we opted to eat in the car on the way home, there are picnic tables across the street for outdoor seating. Loved the window "Landmark" too. We will go back if in the area again. read more

At first you walk in and it gives the vibe of an old time grocery store; then we walked all the way to the back for the deli counter and there is where we ordered our sandwiches. Great local grocer with a terrific butcher and amazing deli counter for breakfast, sandwiches, or prepared foods in the back. My go to favorite is a chicken cutlet, tomato, fresh mozzarella, and balsamic on a roll. For breakfast you can't go wrong with the breakfast roo (2 egg, bacon, cheese) on a roll...for extra yumminess add a hash brown to the sandwich. Came into town for a family function, I wasn't too thrilled about paying $60 for 'continental breakfast' for my family of 4 at the Crowne Plaza we were staying at. Quick yelp landed me here. So good. It's definitely old school. So old school they wrote our credit card number down on a pad to process later. Day1 we came in the a.m....learned to grab a bagel from up front.....then head back to order some bagel egg and cheese sandwiches (gotta have a NY bagel right?). Awesome. Day2 before we headed to the airport we did a repeat of Day1 with the bagel sandwich, but then also got wraps to take with us on the plane. Had a buffalo sandwich and it was fantastic. I've lived in this community for 20 years and I'm thankful for this place. It's an old school neighborhood grocery and deli. If you really wanted to be healthy you'd just get your daily meals here walking from your house. First I get to see my friends when I get coffee. It's good coffee. Why go to Starbucks? The hot food is excellent. But the sandwiches are superb. I get the Italian, The Godfather, and the balboa. It gets busy around lunch because everyone knows it's quality. The parking can be annoying. Also the butcher? They can get meat for you when you need it. I love getting steaks from there. They also have marinated meats which they are proud of. Home made sausage. Also donuts and bagels that are special but I'm trying to go carb free. And they have paper versions of the internet. read more

In my opinion it tasted like someone microwaved it for too long. I love the style and ambiance of the store and the staff were so friendly and kind. The three stars are for the sandwich. This is one of the best, if not the best, delis in the area! Everything I've ever had from here is excellent. From breakfast to lunch sandwiches, cold cuts to fish and meats from the butcher counter. I love that they've continued to offer online ordering and pickup as well as delivery through delivery apps. Woman wasn't very unpleasant on the phone and even hung up on me when I said I've never heard anything like this before. We've been coming here over 24 years. It's a neighborhood fixture and I run into neighbors here often. The meat department is spectacular with Frank, the butcher, in the starring role. The deli section is awesome. Get yourself a Roo - bacon, egg, and cheese on a roll! Nobody does it better. The staff are great and very friendly and helpful. There's a small produce section where you can get basics. The grocery section carries basics and the dairy section does too. Frozen food and beverage cases, cookies and cakes racks, and a selection of goodies near the registers round out the shop. We love this place. read more
