Over the years, my favorite Chinese places have disappeared, such as Yen Ching and Green China in Orange, Chinatown and China West in Irvine. Those are places that were clean inside, and overall delicious food, and great staff that were nicely dressed. Thankfully this new place was all those things, at least at lunch, BUT NOT AT DINNER. It's a good menu, everything I like including the usual favorites but also some dumplings, crab and lobster, and vegetables. We need to eat more veggies. At lunch, It took about 10 minutes at 1:30 PM on a Monday to get my food after ordering. First was the egg drop soup and it was HOT, the way I like it, not warm or watered down. The Orange Chicken was crispy, sweet, and a little on the hot side especially if you eat the small little pieces of pepper. I loved the texture, tender inside and crisp on the outside. Dinner was a BAD experience No complaints about the food - but those take home containers can be tough to open. Got there at 7:45 and seated around 8 PM and gave our order. After 15 minutes, the waiter comes back with the soup . But he tells us he forgot what our entrees were, as well as my beer. And he wrote it down earlier! So he had to resubmit my order. We were not the only one unhappy with the service. A party seated about the same time as us left the restaurant after 25 minutes and cancelled their foor order. No one came by for a long time to clean up the soup plates or refill my friend's soda. By then, we had been in the restaurant almost 45 minutes, still hungry and angry..."hangry". People who got there way after us got their food before us! Then I realized, out waiter disappeared. I had to flag down another waiter to ask what happened to our order. He thankfuly brought it out a few minutes later. We were there until after 9:15 PM. No one came by to check to see how we were doing. In many restaurants, even the manager or owner does that. I've frequented Cantonese restaurants in the SF Bay Area growing up and I was finding it hard to find restaurants in this area that gave me the same taste, however with Dynasty - I believe I've found it. Hong Kong style Pan fried noodle dishes have been a nostalgic dish for me and oddly I haven't been able to find it lately in the area so I was looking forward trying it here - it did not disappoint. Other Chinese restaurants I've ordered from, although good - sometimes felt on the heavy side or did not travel well through delivery however this wasn't the case. We ordered delivery online and the food came fairly quickly, still hot and packaged well. The sauce of the HK style Pan Fried fried noodle was satisfying, savory yet still light and packed appropriately to keep the fried noodles maintain the signature texture during its delivery trip. We also ordered egg rolls - they kept crispy and the Honey Walnut Shrimp dish was a decent portion and also delicious. This place has to have the best hot and sour soup that I've ever had. It's tangy yet sweet and had a lot of mushrooms, tofu and eggs in it so that each bite was filling instead of just slurping up the soup. A real sad soggy experience: We ordered the shrimp with scallions, the basil fish filet and the crispy orange beef all of which are either battered and should be served crispy. All three dishes were extremely soggy. When we complained the waiter simply dismissed our complaint saying we should have ordered the sauces on the side. How are we to know that? We felt If the kitchen is less than 50 feet from your table shouldn't the crispness be able to withstand the 30 second walk to our table? They also do serve the American style Chinese food with good lunch specials. Decor is modern, bright, but sticks with the Asian aesthetic. Has a bistro feel and servers are great, efficient, and speak multiple languages. Food was delicious and price wasn't too bad. Portions were overall decent. The seafood fried rice was seasoned well with good size seafood of squid, fish, and shrimp. The honey bbq beef and soy chicken was flavorful and savory. My go to for Chinese food in Orange. The food here is of good quality, flavorful, and consistent across multiple visits. Our favorites include the pan fried noodles and garlic bok Choi. Overall the servings are large so it works well for larger groups. Space is clean and modern. We've been here about ten times since they became Dynasty. This is the second time dining at Dynasty. Our first experience was during their grand opening. The service was less than desirable as it took forever for the food to come and they forgot a key dish, servers were rude and ignored us and the manager did not apologize nor addressed the missing dish. Needless to say, we hadn't been back for a couple of years. Went to meet friends there for dinner recently and was VERY pleasantly surprised! The ambience is as it was then can be described as casual elegant. The restaurant had a few patrons but wasn't overly busy. We had the house fried rice, shrimp siu mai, honey garlic pork chops and garlic green beans. Everything was EXCELLENT! We were informed at ordering that the siu mai would take 20 minutes which we were fine with. The dish portions were perfect and satisfied all 4 of us. The fried rice was great and loaded with beef, chicken, shrimp a few veggies and was NOT greasy. The green beans were crispy, seasoned perfectly - not salty or wilted and fresh. The honey garlic pork chops were the HIT of the night. The cut of pork used was great, not full of fat or muscle, tender, and flavorful without the sauce being overwhelming. The siu mai came last which was very tasty and fresh. We enjoyed the meal - and the service was good, the food excellent and the ambiance was casual and relaxed. Got their flyer in the mail and decided to try with the family on a Saturday night. Really nice ambiance and modern higher-end feel like Din Tai Fung. They seated us immediately and brought over high chairs for my kids. Service was great and always had staff checkin on us. The food was really good and tasted cleaner than your run of the mill Chinese restaurant. If you're looking for the old greasy cheap Chinese food, then don't go here. I was craving XLB and was on my way home from Anaheim so I yelped for some places and saw I had a bookmark on Dynasty, so there I went! I got their pork juicy dumpling, pot stickers, and fish fillets with peppers and black bean sauce. I LOVE their pork juicy dumpling. Though I got it togo, it was soooo good and SO JUICY! Their fish fillets with peppers and black bean sauce was also phenomenal and they packed the takeout box! The pot stickers were a fail for me though. I think they did not cook it thoroughly, or rather, warmed/fried it thoroughly. The dough in their pot sticker was super thick and I think they only cooked it enough that the dough melted into the meat and that was it. Not good and did not taste that good either. The environment of the restaurant is very soft and welcoming for an Asian restaurant. Good for dates and family with adults. If you have quiet kids, you should be fine too. I was super excited to see a new Cantonese restaurant open up in OC because it's extremely hard to find this cuisine nowadays without venturing out to San Gabriel. However, I'm disappointed to say the food here is mediocre at best and maybe a slight step above Panda Express in terms of menu offerings, but not so much in flavor. Garlic Pea Shoots This actually didn't taste bad - 4 out of 5, minusing one point for saltiness. It came out first, so it was quite promising, just a tad salty. This dish also had the wok hei flavor, so I was pretty stoked to get the rest of our food. Honey garlic pork 2 out of 5 Typically, at most Cantonese restaurants, these come as thin, beaten pork chops, with a crispy breaded exterior and a flavor of salty, sweet and garlic. This pork that came out was thick pork loins with a pretty flat flavor profile of honey. Although the dish had ample garlic, the taste did not shine through. The thickness of the pork also made a crispy exterior impossible. These were so sickeningly sweet that my co-worker who generally enjoys sweet stopped eating this dish. Everybody scarfed down, veggies, rice, and water to remove the taste from their mouth since it was so sweet. Seafood chow mein 1 out of 5 We actually ordered the house special chow mein but instead received the seafood chow mein. It was suggested to us, but I politely declined since one of my co-workers only likes shrimp. Well, the customer isn't always right, I guess, and we ended up getting it anyway. The seafood wasn't very fresh and looked like mixed bag variety seafood. There was also a lone mussel, which I thought was interesting since it isn't even mussel season but, sure ok. Aside from the seafood not being very fresh, the noodles had no wok hei flavor, and the dish wasn't as flavorful as the pea shoots or the pork. Two delicacy barbecue with roast pork and barbecue pork 1 out of 5 This dish was served at room temperature, which was really off-putting. The fat on the roast pork was way too thin, and it definitely wasn't the belly portion that it usually should be. The barbecue pork wasn't marinated long enough, either. Service was ok. Our waters were always full, they packed our doggie bag to go, although improperly because our two delicacy barbecue ended up leaking since the server thought they should pack the bed of oil the barbecue lay in instead of just the pieces. Plating for the food looked nice but left a lot to be desired in terms of taste. The ambiance is nice - the restaurant is nicely renovated and the furniture is nice. Overall, if you have friends who grew up on Cantonese or legit Chinese food, this place will miss the mark even by Irvine standards where the bar is typically low. However, if you are entertaining friends who don't eat Chinese food outside the realm of Panda Express or PF Changs, this might be a good place to bring them to so they can try other dishes. read more

I have been here 3 times before. Food was always good but service could use some improvement. Today I ordered a lunch special: string bean w/chicken. Specials are served w/soup & egg roll Only ate 1/2 the entree + egg roll. When I asked for to-go containers they only brought a container for the entree. When I asked again for a soup container I was told that they wont provide a container for the soup. As my waiter approached & brought my bill I asked how they provide soup for take out orders? He further explained that the new owner considers the soup and egg roll free w/the lunch specials. Therefore, you can't take the soup home. It is my opinion that the soup and egg roll are combined in the price I paid for the lunch special. I left a very disappointed and explained that I thought this was a poor policy because it never happened to me before. next time I will either bring my own container for the soup, offer to pay for a soup container, eat the soup first, or just not bring my business here read more

This restaurant space has turned a few times. Service was very good as I had the lunch special. However there are silverware at the table and not chopsticks. You have no choice on your soup for the lunch special. The chef makes only one soup a day. The restaurant was filled with Asians however it remains to be seen if they will return. I had the kung pao chicken lunch special. The egg roll was not crunchy and the filling was slimy. My kung pao chicken was one note, spicy hot. For the chef who is awarded, I was disappointed.
