Been to visit this restaurant many times including pick up .. Today, Saturday afternoon, pick up .. Ordered the Schezwan Chicken .. and other items .. My issue is with the Schezwan Chicken .. It was SO chili hot that it was impossible to enjoy .. I attempted to take the chili out but that was impossible as well .. Never again ! It was the worst I've ever tasted .. Wasn't cheap either .. it was as if the Chef wasn't paying attention to preparation .. Very disappointed .. I usually enjoy my meal from here .. This was a surprisingly good find in Orange. If you're looking for legitimate/authentic Chinese (more Cantonese style) food, this is a great option in the area. Most of the seating towards the front of the restaurant is made for smaller parties. They have larger round/family style tables towards the back of the restaurant. Service was pleasant and not typically rude like other Chinese restaurants that you'll find in the likes of Monterey Park, Alhambra, Chinatown. We were pleased with all of the dishes that ordered and some where better than others. Their full Peking Duck is actually very reasonable. It's not the best that I've had but still pretty good and on-point. Their PD comes with the steamed white buns which are larger than usual and it comes with the usual plum sauce, julienne onions and cucumber. Other things that were on point include the fish maw soup (enough for 6 people to get full bowls), their house special chicken was very good...5 stars on that one. Their beef chow fun portion was good, a little on the salty side but I won't complain. The pea sprout (which you won't find on the menu) was very good with a good sized portion. I came here with a friend for lunch on a Tuesday and we stayed for nearly 3 hours enjoying the food and conversation. I was helped right away upon coming, no crazy rush during their lunchtime. Between the 2 of us we ordered the string beans, seafood noodle, tofu and mushrooms in brown sauce, cubed filet mignon, and a side of rice. I thought the food was decent and we did get hot and sour soup from the chef. He came out several times to check on us as well as the waitresses. I forgot to take pictures of all the food before digging in, so I only have a few to show. The string beans were tasty, seafood noodle was good too, tofu and mushrooms was okay, but I prefer the tofu to not be so soft inside, and I didn't eat the beef because I'm pescetarian but that dish was more for my friend. I didn't see a dessert menu so not sure if they have any but we did get fortune cookies at the end of the meal. Everything came out to over $100 with tip so this place is not cheap. I did see they have a lunch menu which looks like it'll be around $20 per person so I might stop by again to try their lunch. I will give them a 4 stars for their extensive menu, decent tasting Chinese food with big portions, and friendly prompt service. Food is pretty good, and I'd rank these dishes starting from the best: 1. Sauteed filet mignon with mushroom and black pepper sauce 2. Honey walnut shrimp 3. Braised eggplant 4. House string beans 5. Seafood fried noodle But, I was looking forward to the spicy minced pork over with rice and it was NOT the same dish that came out. Beef Chow Fun - one of the very BEST versions of this Cantonese classic I've ever had in LA or OC (I live in the 626, so that's saying a lot.) A strong wiff of the 'wok hey' makes it extra memorable. Also it's literally 'dry' chow fun, not greasy at all. 5 Stars. So good I forgot to snap a photo Lol. Roast duck - very good, but I've had better. Minced beef egg white soup (aka Westlake beef soup) - Light, nourishing and hearty, very tasty broth, perfect for a wintry day in SoCal. If you're craving high quality and tasty Chinese food, try Dynasty. You'd never think a place nestled in a shopping mall parking lot would turn out surprisingly to be so good. The decor of the restaurant was very pretty, and the service was spot on. We ordered the egg flower, drop soup, the salt and pepper hot wings, the Mongolian, beef and the pan-fried house noodle dish. Came here with a reservation for Chinese new year eve. We ordered many dishes to go with water and tea all around. The restaurant is spacious and has many large tables. Situated in a large plaza next to Daiso with ample parking. Service was lacking for the duration of the meal. We asked several times for refills and did not get it. We had to ask for water many times at the beginning before they finally brought a glass of water. We ordered extra buns for our Peking duck which we never got. Asked several times and was told it's coming but it never did. One of the waiters kept bringing dishes to us that we didn't order. By the end of the meal it appeared he just went to all the tables asking if they had ordered what he had in his hands. Not sure if it's because it was packed and new yrs eve but I would expect them to be prepared for such a day. The food overall was average. I was disappointed given the description of the owner on their menu touting his history working at some fancy places. The food did not live up to the hype or the prices. The most disappointing for us was the Peking duck. It was all skin and barely any meat. The meat were not attached to the skin at all. The skin wasn't as crispy and had no fat. We were also wondering where's the rest of the duck? For the cost of the dish, I expected the rest of the duck to be brought out on another plate as is usual with Peking duck at other restaurants. The portion for a whole duck was meager, cold and barely enough for a table of 5 adults and 2 kids. It feels like they may just have the Peking duck pre cut in the back and when it's ordered they piece it together. The buns tasted like something u get in the frozen section at the Asian market and reheated. Once again I'll mention we ordered extra buns but they never came. If I could give 2.5 stars I would. For the lack of service and the average food with the high prices. Would I come back? Probably not. read more

They brought the soup first and it was luke warm. The they shoveled all the apps on the table while we were still eating the soup. We ordered the scallion pancakes and they only give you one oily pancake even though the picture shows numerous on their menu. They acknowledge that but don't do anything about it. This is a solid Chinese restaurant near my place. I was craving egg tofu and this place makes it exactly the way I like it! They also have soy sauce stir fry noodles which is one of my favorite comfort dishes. I ordered for take out so I cannot speak much about the customer service but our food was made quickly so there are no issues with that. I will order again. read more

Time to downgrade. The first dozen visits were great. We liked the food. Service was great. However our last 2 visits have been poor. We have come in around 5:00 for dinner, being only 1 of possibly 4 or 5 occupied tables. Order gets taken in a short amount of time. Then the wheels fall off the bus. It has been taking over 30 mins for our food to start coming out. Yes, "Start" coming out. One dish at a time every 10 mins or so. Did I mention they were not busy. We still like the food, but the wait time for our meal to come out is testing our patience. I may think twice next time we go. read more

Came here for lunch and it was my first time since they had changed ownership and the name of the restaurant. They have great lunch specials. I ordered the orange chicken (with no spice) and it came with white rice and miso soup. Everything tasted delicious. The orange chicken was not too sweet and the portion was great which made it a plus. As you are eating, take a look around the restaurant. The decor is beautiful and so many cool sights. This dining experience ruined our Father's Day celebration! We went as a family of 10 for dinner on Father's Day 6/21/26 and had a reservation at 7:30 pm. We were seated only 8 pm despite more then half the restaurant being empty. It was obvious that they were very understaffed despite knowing it will be busy on Father's Day. Only 1-2 servers for the whole restaurant. In the beginning we were all understanding of the fact that it is a busy day however our patience quickly dissipated when nobody took our order for almost 45 minutes after sitting down. We conveyed that kids were hungry and to please bring dishes as they were ready. Finally after 1 hour, the owner places a bowl of white rice in front of us stating that this was the LAST rice and they ran out. Kids finally ate white rice for dinner out of frustration and hunger. Please keep in mind that the owner was neither apologetic nor forthcoming that the kitchen was so delayed and our ordered dishes would take yet another 30 minutes to come out. Finally, after sitting for 1.5 hours in the restaurant, dishes came out one at a time. Orange chicken was tasty but everything else seemed rushed and bland. We left very frustrated by the service and lack of organization from management. We would have appreciated if they were honest about the delay and that they ran out of ingredients. We would have gladly gone elsewhere and had a more enjoyable evening! I usually do not write bad reviews however this entire experience of was unacceptable as a paying customer. read more

Small local Chinese restaurant with large portions. It's definitely nicer and usually not too loud so great for a family get together. We came Saturday around 4:30 and were seated right away. We got the salt and pepper fried tofu, garlic pea shoots (not in the menu but available), and chow mein. The tofu is super crisp and delicious but the pea shoots were probably my favorite. They're garlicy, light, and a nice break from the carbs. The chow mein was flavorful and usually very crispy, but they were a little more soft this time around. Overall a great value, about $80 for four people (4 dishes and 4 bowls of rice). I also recommend coming in person because you get about double the serving size. read more

It's tucked away next to TJ Maxx and Smart and Final in a predominantly non Asian neighborhood. Despite this set back, my first time dining here was absolutely delightful. Staff are so polite and attentive. The owner/chef came out to give me advice on how to order the lobster for the best flavor. He then asked the staff to help me carry the food to my car to help since I ordered a lot and had my son with me. The food was SO DELICIOUS. We ordered ginger scallion lobster, salt pepper tofu, filet mignon and sautéed snow pea shoots. The portions were extremely generous. The food was fresh and flavorful. I received the menu advertisement in the mail and the head chef was a former executive chef so I decided to give this place a try. The interior is nicely decorated not your typical hole on the wall Chinese food so it's great for families. Sadly our experience wasn't the best tonight started with the napkins that had some white spots, seemed to be dried rice? Fast forward we ordered 4 dishes and only 3 came out so we finally asked the waiter about our noodle dish and was told he forgot to put it in and if we still wanted it, uh no we were already done eating at this point. -Xiao long bao 3/5, the skin was not thick nor thin but did not have broth. I did not need a soup spoon to eat them. -Spicy wontons 4/5, the sauce was different than most places but wish wonton fillings would have shrimp to add some juicy popping texture -Orange beef 2/5, the batter was way too thick so we could barely taste the beef, the sauce was sweet, tangy and salty perfect with white rice but way too much batter that made it soggy. It all tasted the same, the soup was very bland and had almost no taste. The chow fun was less than average. The texture was all the same... mush. The beef was tender and mushy also. Not what I wanted in my dish, but oh well. The egg rolls were ok. Grandson did not complain, so I guess it was okay but I suspect he just doesn't have anything to compare it to. We will not be back. Would give 2.5 stars. Nice, clean and spacious restaurant with plenty of parking. Staff was kind and attentive. Juicy pork dumplings* - flavor was good but none had soup in it :( You can see in the picture that it all leaked out somehow even though the dumplings had no holes that I could see. The cover was a little thick and got hard the longer it sat. Spicy wonton- wasn't spicy at all, five spice flavoring, I wouldn't get again Kung pao chicken- I wasn't a fan... chicken breast that wasn't flavored enough. No wok hei, lack in color, flavoring just wasn't there. Braised crispy tofu with three delights*- this lacked wok hei too, but it was the one of the best dishes we got here. Honestly we went with low expectations after seeing the poor reviews on Yelp, but so glad we gave this restaurant a try because it was great. The restaurant is elegant and clean. They also have several large round tables toward the back with the large lazy susan, like the ones you see in traditional Chinese restaurants. Yes, they are understaffed, but for a small business, it's hard to hire a dozen people unless you have customers lining out the door. We arrived right at 11 am when they opened, and there were several other large parties. But we got our food within reasonable amount of time, and the food was authentic Chinese. The staff members were attentive and friendly. We ordered a lot of food, and even wanted to try items that were actually not available when we were there. But there was not a dish that we did not like. Highly recommend for a nice sit down authentic Chinese meal. read more

Anything takes forever. 20 mins before we can order and another hour before food comes. My 3rd time here, and it's the same every time. I'm always in search of a good, authentic Chinese restaurant, so I was excited to check out this new place. We came here for dinner on a Saturday, and we didn't have to wait. I was really impressed by the ambiance, since it was modern, new, and bright. The menu has a lot to offer. It mostly seemed like Americanized dishes, although there were some authentic offerings. We ordered the chicken chow fun ($15.99), special Dungeness crab ($58.99), honey garlic pork chops ($15.99), and the ong choy. After waiting about 40 minutes, our waitress told us they didn't have the ong choy, so we ordered the pea shoots ($18.99). The wait for food was long since I think the kitchen was understaffed. One of the servers apologized for the wait, so that was nice. The first item to arrive at our table was the beef chow fun (they had messed up our order). The chow fun was pretty good, although I wish the chow fun had the large, fat noodles instead of the thin ones. The dish wasn't too salty, so that was appreciated. The beef was pretty tender, and there was a good amount of beef in the dish. We then got the chicken chow fun as we ordered, and they were nice enough to let us keep both of the chow funs. The chicken chow fun had a stronger flavor for the noodles, so I liked it much better, but there wasn't much chicken in the dish. The crab was nicely presented, and had a good flavor with a slight spicy kick. Crab is super messy and hard to eat, but there were some pieces with a good amount of meat. The honey garlic pork chop was a little soggy, but I enjoyed the sweet flavor, and the pork had a lot of meat and wasn't caked in batter, so that was a plus. It wasn't super tender though. The pea shoots were tasty, but some pieces were a little too salty. Service was slow as the food took more than 40 minutes to arrive to our table. However, our waitress was attentive. She filled our waters three times, and frequently checked in on how the food was. We also appreciated the extra chow fun dish since they had brought in the wrong order. I'm still eating as I'm writing this review and I have to say this place is such a gem! For all the other reviews that talked about the service and whatnot- don't listen to them lol... These are hardcore Chinese/Hong kong people so the food and service is going to be traditional and straight to the point- basically where they will do what they need to do. Don't expect some PF Chang chitchatting if that's what you enjoy doing. I enjoyed the food a lot. I ordered: Crab soup (10/10): honestly the best soup I've had in awhile!! I love how they gave us white pepper to season the soup even more. Even without the seasoning, it still tasted so good!!! Fried rice (7/10): I'm not really into fried rice, but I wanted to try it out and it wasn't too bad! I felt like it could've been a bit more white pepper added Black pepper mushroom filet mignon (9/10): I haven't had this in so long and this reminded me of home!! This goes SO WELL with plain white rice because of the sauce Spicy wonton (8/10): This isn't spicy at all tbh! And it's more on the sweeter side compared to mama lus or Din tai fung! Fans of the former Sam Woo Seafood Restaurant Irvine rejoice!!! Ever since Sam Woo Irvine (the fancy restaurant not the express BBQ) closed, I have been trying every Chinese restaurant in the vicinity of Irvine, Tustin, Orange, Westminster, Santa Ana area trying to find a restaurant that was on par and offered authentic Chinese at fair prices and portions large enough to have leftovers for take home. Yep that's a lot of Chinese restaurants I visited in an attempt to find a Sam Woo replacement. Finding Chinese restaurants on par with Dynasty was easy - if you're willing to drive to Monterey Park and Alhambra, not so in Orange County. After several months of ordering the exact same menu items at these restaurants to better compare each, I came across Yang Min and Royal Wok, both in Orange. If Dynasty is a solid 5, Royal Wok and Yang Min are low 4's. In my opinion, Royal Wok offers excellent value for the money and Yang Min is a somewhat close second to Dynasty, although Yang Min's prices are higher and portions smaller in comparison. Dynasty was actually one of the last ones I tried. I remember the location from a prior restaurant, but didn't realize that a new one/Dynasty had taken over. The prior restaurant was not memorable. So I again ordered my usual and got take-out, since we were still in the middle of Covid shutdowns. I was pleasantly surprised by the authenticity, large portions and fair prices of the menu items I ordered. If I had any doubts about the Head Chef's training and background being a gimmick, those doubts completely disappeared after my first order. The interior of the restaurant is well appointed and elegant, very suitable for family meals, or for entertaining guests. I also like that the Chef is very accommodating to individual requests and I can be particular about how I like my dinner. Some Chefs find this annoying, yet I have never gotten any attitude at Dynasty. In fact, it has always been service with a smile for me. BTW, Dynasty's take out bag is consistently very well and thoughtfully packed to survive the trip home without any spills in the car. This is the first and only Chinese restaurant to date that I've come across that double wraps its take out container in a secondary thick plastic bag. I appreciate this, having had more than my share of spilled meat sauce on my leather seats and trunk space from leaky or uneven take out containers, not to mention keeping the food piping hot until ready to serve. Those of us within reasonable driving distance to Dynasty is lucky to have a Chinese restaurant of this caliber in a location where parking is easy and area is safe. There is no way to take a stroll to work off a full tummy in Monterey Park after dinner, or park a fancy car in a public lot without having to worry about safety. Dynasty Orange is a rare gem, every 5 star review is well deserved. I cannot sing enough praises about this restaurant. I won't post any recommendations here, again, Chinese food can be subjective. What one person finds flavorful, another could find too salty. I would suggest ordering your usual and request adjustments according to your individual taste. For me, it took a couple of tries (requests to the Chef) before it became perfection. So if your first visit wasn't perfect, take note of what you didn't like and try it again with a request to the Chef. Excellent restaurant all around. Highly recommend. read more

My kids, 8 & 6 are very picky and they enjoy these dishes: orange chicken, chicken, fried rice, and mushroom with the mignon. I wish I had taken pictures before the review, but it is what it is..
