Walking into Dyer's Cafe in Collierville feels like stepping into a charming retro time capsule--classic red booths, vintage Coca-Cola signs, and walls filled with decades of history. From the soft lighting to the nostalgic decor, everything about this place screams character and comfort. You can tell this isn't just a restaurant--it's a local treasure. Now let's talk about the food--because wow. You always know a place is serious about flavor when their Coke isn't watered down. That's always a green flag for us. I had the Swiss Mushroom Burger with chili cheese fries topped with grilled diced onions, and it was absolutely satisfying--flavorful, juicy, and perfectly cooked. My wife had the grilled chicken sandwich and fried pickles, both of which hit the spot. The fried pickles especially had that perfect crispy bite without being greasy. We wrapped it up with the banana pudding, and it was a soft, sweet, creamy dream--comfort dessert at its finest. Huge shoutout to Mallorie, our server--she was so sweet, attentive, and kind. Her great attitude added to what was already a wonderful experience. Honestly, we hesitated at first due to some of the lower ratings--but we're so glad we trusted our curiosity instead. This was a great first experience, and we'll definitely be back.

I tried this place a couple of times, and as the saying goes, I won't be made a fool again. I have been twice in about six weeks. I chalked the first visit up as a fluke, but yesterday the food was even worse. The only reason for two stars is how sweet the servers are. Both of the young ladies that waited on me had fantastic smiles, were super friendly, attentive, and helpful. Dyers is lucky to have them! My wife spurred my interest with a visit here with her Mom a while back. She got a chili cheese dog and some onion rings and enjoyed it enough to tell me about it. I have some really fond memories of Dyers. My Dad used to take me to the one in Bartlett as a treat. Back then I remember that the burgers were really freaking good. They were full of flavor and had a bit of a crunchy exterior, like it was actually fried. He freaking loved them!! I was excited to reminisce with a greasy fried burger! Something must happened to the grease on the ride over from Bartlett because this place is not good. It's almost like they are now braised in grease and not fried, is that even a thing?? It's also dirty as hell. You can see in the kitchen from the left side and it's not a good look. Floors, walls, ceiling, hoods, vents, all of it. I can deal with dirty most of the time if the food is worth risking my health. Not here... Dude making my food yesterday was chewing on a straw, with the opposite end that he had already chewed, hanging out of his mouth, while he was cooking my food. Gross in so many ways and also a critical health code violation. Both of my burgers were tasteless and oddly cool. The cheese didn't melt either time. First time the bacon was cooked, yesterday it was only cooked on one side. Zero seasoning unless it washed off in the flavorless grease. Both burgers tasted exactly the same. The first time I had onion rings that were undercooked and still crunchy while all of the breading sloughed off. Yesterday the fries were old, cold, and soggy. To top it off the bottom hamburger bun was hard to the touch, like it sat on a warm surface too long. Hope yours is better than mine was homies, cause I'm done with this one forever!! '24 - 60/100

I was looking for a turkey burger as a healthier option, they checked to see if they had which kind of made me wonder how long they had that in the freezer for. Cringe. Prices V's quality was pretty underwhelming sadly. The girls working the counter are super nice and I really liked the vintage feel of the place. Onion rings were huge, nice light batter however suuuuper greasy, I'm sorry to say I did not enjoy.

Chili. Not a full cup and more watery than I care for.

Decided to dine in since it was Christmas week and we were enjoying the downtown festivities. I've been eating McDonald's pretty regularly and I gotta say this is a nice change. So my view may be skewed. Burger was good and greasy. Fries - I didn't like how they all clumped together. Not sure what's going on there. Shake - well the "Oreo and M&M" shake is actually either Oreo or M&M. Not both. So whoever printed the menu was an idiot in my opinion. And the Hair on the tip of my shake straw did not add to the Christmas merriment. Also It didn't come out until I was done with the burger too, which was disappointing but I was hungry and ate a little quicker than I normally would. So I won't count that against them. I did find it Odd how the shake comes in a plastic takeaway cup rather than a tin cup given the old fashion vibe they got going on inside. Go figure. They got kids meals under 11 and senior meals over 65. So that's a nice touch.

I visited from out of town and came to this restaurant due to family recommendations. The place itself: cute, old time diner with limited seating, think like a diner from back in the day. Super adorable. The food: nothing too special that I would go out of my way for. The fries were fine, the burger was your typical greasy burger. However, the way they prepare their burgers is cool, in a skillet with "ageless grease". I would come back again if I am in the area and someone suggested it, but I don't think I would go out of my way to come.

Amazing! Absolutely must stop in if you're visiting Memphis and craving a classic smash burger. The Big Papa was a 10/10 burger, although it was slightly too much and I regrettably left a bite or two on the plate. The homemade onion rings and homemade fried pickles were so delicious, and they weren't super greasy or over seasoned like you so often find. Andrea was our server and she was the sweetest, super attentive, and extremely friendly!

We are first timers as we are in the process of moving to the area. We came right before the rush, so we were seated right away. Alexis was very helpful in recommendations for first timers. It's exactly what I wanted, a simple yet juicy flavorful burger. I got the onion rings instead and one of the best rings I've had.

While the food and services is good, who charges $1.14 for tap water. The water wasn't even in a to go cup. May be last visit.
