Dusu Bakery is such a hidden gem. I tried the egg tart, butter tteok, and pudding mochi, and the textures were the biggest standout for me. The egg tart was incredible. The crust was super flaky and crispy with a smooth, creamy custard center. The butter tteok was another favorite--the outside had this amazing crispness while the inside stayed soft and chewy. I'm a huge texture person, so both of these were exactly my kind of thing. The pudding mochi was really interesting too. It's basically pudding inside a soft mochi bread, so you get that creamy filling with a chewy exterior. It's definitely unique and worth trying if you like different textures. Everything tasted fresh, and I love that there are options here that feel a little different from your typical bakery items. I'd absolutely come back, especially for the egg tart and butter tteok. read more

Tried this place out after seeing it on social media. Located inside Duo Duo Snacks, you can miss out on this bakery if you don't know about it. It's in a big plaza so plenty of parking. Service is okay and ambiance is small bakery. I got tried the mochi pudding ($5.99 for 2pcs), egg tart ($9.99 for 4pcs), and tiramisu tart ($3.99). Not bad prices for each. I finally tried this bakery from Shanghai. That's been all over Instagram and it was worth the visit. I bought one of everything they had left on the shelves because I wanted to try it all. Everything I tried was really tasty and the prices were very reasonable. The bakery is located inside a snack store and easy to find it. The store is clean and spacious and parking was easy to find, which is always a plus. I'd recommend going early since their baked goods seem to sell out Quickly. Definitely worth checking out if you love bread and pastries. read more

I arrived on a Saturday evening and they were stocked with items. They had 2 samples of the black sesame cookie and spicy cracker. It looks as if they had other samples but didn't refill it. They are constantly baking fresh items. Customer service is not good. Items are on the pricier side especially for what you get. You often have to buy things in multiples which I don't like. Their popular items include the rice cakes which is crunchy on the outside and chewy on the inside and a custard mochi breads. I didn't care for either. I tried about 8 items and wasn't a big fan of any of them except the sesame cookie. Overall, the items are unique and often savory and sweet and they utilize a lot of mochi in their items. This is inside the duo duo snack store. You grab a tray, put a paper on it and grab what you want. They do have some samples you can try but people make a mess of it since its self serve. The butter rice cakes are probably my favorite. They too many things to choose from so we got the butter rice cakes and the mochi. The mochi was mix and match 10 for 5.99 and the butter rice cakes were 4 for 4.99- 6.99 i forgot. I wanted to try soo many items but we came here after a big dinner so cant let them go to waste. I will be back to try more items. Items were packed in bags and we were provided a reusable bag for the bags. It says its soft opening but i hope the prices stay low. read more

Kinda unassuming as it's located inside Duo Duo and only be aware if it as I bumped into it on social media. It's apparently a Chinese-originated bakery. Got so hooked as they offered butter rice cakes or more knowingly butter tteok! Obviously there were other stuffs offered, but if you're first timer, this was certainly not to skip! We also tried the tiramisu egg tart (also delicious) and the cheesecake (unique in that a slice of cheddar cheese is atop a sponge cake). Everything was so good and not too sweet! read more

I would never have found this place if not for Yelp. It's located inside Duo Duo Snacks. It's a small bakery area on the right hand side when you first walk into the store. I came here for the egg tarts, but got a little bit of everything. The only downside is you have to buy a certain amount of each product because that's how they charge you. I ended up with 2 beef floss cakes for $4.99 (have to buy 2), 1 hotdog bun $4.99, 1 chicken patty bun $4.99, 4 mochi sticks that were $1.99 for two (have to buy them in 2s but you can mix and match. There's 3 different flavors.), 4 butter rice cakes for $5.99 (have to buy them in 4pcs), 1 slice cocoa matcha Swiss roll for $2.99, 3 tiramisu egg tarts that were $3.99 each, 4 mochi puddings that were $5.99 for two (have to buy them in 2s), 6pcs tao su (walnut cookie with black sesame seeds) for $4.99, and 4 egg tarts for $9.99. The egg tarts, cookies, mochi pudding, and mochi sticks were delicious. Not a fan of the Swiss roll, buns, or tiramisu egg tarts. I've had better. The buns lacked seasoning and the tiramisu egg tarts taste like the regular one with whipped cream and too much cocoa powder. My fiancée was in the mood for egg tarts this morning, so we made the 30 minute drive down to Dusu bakery. Let's start by saying the bakery is an in store counter within Duo Duo Snack in Temple City. Although small, it's quite busy and the egg tarts are decent. There were two girls working the front today, the nice blonde girl who ran the cash machine, and a more passive girl who was helping with the trays. We went around 11am, and many of the options were in the middle of another round from the oven or out of stock. We picked out two mochi tarts, a tiramisu tart, and two regular egg tarts. We met this lovely older couple who helped us with some questions and even allowed us to get two of their egg tarts; they had 40 pre ordered, and the bakery seemed to be behind on that order. In any case. The mochi tarts were pretty good and the tiramisu was flaky and had a nice hint of coffee flavor. My fiancee had the egg tarts and she said they were decent. Overall, I'd say Dusu is decent and if you are in the area and want some egg tarts, they will hit the spot. I don't know if it was worth the drive for me though. read more

Dusu Shijia inside Duoduo Snack in Temple City was awful. The two cashiers had no idea what they were doing. They couldn't keep track of orders, mixed everything up, and had a terrible attitude the entire time. They made the mistake, but kept questioning us like it was our fault. Before our issue was even resolved, they were already trying to help the next customer. The cream puffs were just as bad. A box of 6 had 2 with basically no cream filling at all. The dessert display was full of empty trays with no signs saying whether the items were sold out or not. Every time we asked about something, the answer was "over an hour." If almost everything takes over an hour, maybe don't leave empty trays on display. It honestly didn't feel like they cared about serving customers at all. Definitely not coming back!!!!!!! read more

This is a small bakery located inside of Duoduo snacks. I learned about it via social media and got their hungry panda preorder. It was an easy and smooth pickup. The preorder included a decent amount of pastries, most of which I believe are their signature items. Egg tarts - these aren't bad, the crust is crispy and the custard has a nice eggy taste. I don't think this is their speciality though as I've had better elsewhere. Pudding mochi(?) - not sure the exact English name for this but it's behind the counter in the refrigerated area. It looks like a cream puff except there's some milk pudding in the center. The bread is mochi based and is chewy. The center is a very creamy, bouncy pudding. Both combined together is like eating a cream puff, except it isn't. Definitely must get in my opinion. Butter rice cakes- I think this is their speciality because it is so addicting and delicious. Crispy outer layer, chewy interior mochi layer. Definitely getting this again. Pork floss cake- these aren't my favorite in general but I think they did a pretty good job with this. It's not too salty, and the cake is super moist. There's also some sort of cream inside but it's a bit too sweet. Overall it reminded me of a takoyaki but sweet version. Finger mochi(?) - chewy pieces of mochi textured bread with raisins in it. Super addicting and not too sweet. Walnut shortbread(?)- so flaky. Melts in your mouth.
