The owner was impressively slow on the grill and not good at multi tasking, at times only working with one meal on the griddle when there was a long string of tickets sitting on the printer being ignored. When another customer complained, he cited a lack of help which I've heard him complain about on prior occasions but more help won't do anything if you won't cook the food. I also watched them serve up slightly warmed raw potatoes that sat on the grill for less than 5 minutes. The kicker is that after all that waiting, I bite into my sandwich to be surprised with the crunch of broken egg shells. Yuck!

For drinks, my friend got the brown sugar latte and I went with the pumpkin latte topped with chai cold foam. Both were delicious, and the pumpkin + chai combination was perfect for fall! For food, we shared the fig and Brie toast and the Standard Sandwich, which came with cheesy eggs -- and you really can't go wrong with cheesy eggs for breakfast. Overall, I really enjoyed my experience at Gryphon Cafe. The food and drinks were great, the atmosphere was welcoming, and there was plenty of space to sit. Definitely worth checking out if you're in West Chester!

They make them homemade in a brick fired oven and you can taste the difference. My order is always the lox with jalapeño cream cheese, cucumbers, tomatoes, red onions, and the salmon. It is outstanding. They never overdo it with the salmon, which I really appreciate because some places pile it on and it throws the whole taste off. Here the balance is perfect every time. I am not much of a coffee drinker, but my cousin gets their coffee on the regular and she loves it. They always have seasonal flavors and she looks forward to trying the new ones.
