Stopped in to have a coffee and read my book, but ended up exploring the shop for well over an hour. I enjoyed a London Fog and Rainbow Muffin at a very fair price. I also bought a signed Ali Hazelwood copy of her book at a great price! The employees here are so knowledgeable and nice. I just loved talking and getting to know them. Unfortunately, what I was looking for wasn't in stock but I was given 3 recommendations that were close in genre as well as 3 recommendations that were in stock. I also wish I could give it a bonus star just for the rolling ladders! If you're in town and a reader like me, I highly suggest stopping in to this store to gaze their selection. Cute stores. Has a nice setup for children. Selection and prices are not great but I can get over that because I enjoy a good book store. I never expect the price or selection of Amazon at a small B&M store. One of the staff has several interesting reviews published in national papers. The one star is because everytime I go in there it seems like there is some loud, pretentious, politically charged, staff member sharing their views. I'm not offended by it, I just don't want to hear it when I come there to relax. They also don't want to debate. If you dare to have a logical debate with the staff, and you share a different view, be prepared for them to try to shame you or make you feel bad for just living your life. read more

Cute bookstore with a lot of charm! It has a pretty nice atmosphere and has that old comfy bookstore feel. Worth a stop in just to walk around and enjoy the interior. They also have a small cafe inside so you can grab a refreshment while you're there. For me it lost 1 star for selection, nothing they can do about that since space is limited, and some of the prices being high. It loses another star for not cracking down on masks. While they do have it posted on the door that they are required to enter, there were four people in the back area not wearing masks, and as I've already mentioned it's a small store. Posting a rule and enforcing it at the door does very little if the enforcement stops once people are out of sight. read more

The ambiance it absolutely lovely. The staff is friendly and helpful. There are places to sit and read, however the music is overbearing and doesn't lend itself to reading, but then I prefer a quiet bookstore similar to a library setting. Another thing to consider is the store features and promotes "left" leaning books, not a lot of diversity in that regard, otherwise I would give it a 5 star rating. read more

I've been here multiple times and this is such a unique and cute bookstore. There is a bakery inside with fresh pastries and drinks like coffee and tea. There's a really cool fountain inside that you can throw coins into. The selection of books isn't like Barnes & Nobles but that's the charm of a small book store. There are books you might over look at a bigger book store. The story time here for kids is amazing. It's Tuesday mornings at 10am and the guy is very animated and the kids are very engaged. He hands out cookies at the end and the kids can color too. Overall, worth checking out! read more

What a wonderful find, this is absolutely one of the best book stores I have ever been in, it's a enchanting and very warming and peaceful place, a true throwback to yesteryear equipped with a sliding shelve ladder. A fantastic collection of 1800's books and signed first additions for sale. The staff is pleasurable and helpful with a great knowledge on authors and books. Well well well so I visited the Wellington Bookstore and coffee shop. What can be said --lots! This hidden gem offers a cozy serene atmosphere filled with shelves of books, displays of artifacts, and abundance of antiques. I absolutely love it. If you follow my coffee shop reviews you know I test the quality of coffee through the taste and flavor in which a mocha latte is made. Let's just say the coffee was nice and the atmosphere was great. We were greeted pleasantly as soon as we walked in the door. This spot has nooks and crannies to sit, chat, and read. Not really ideal for working it's more of a social atmosphere because the seating spaces are open but intimate. All this surrounded by books, gifts, and options to satisfy your sweet tooth. If you want a cozy comfortable atmosphere to think, chat, or simply be alone this lovely book store and coffee shop will meet your needs. My mom and I went here today as part of the Chester County Best Kept Secrets Tour - which is definitely the perfect name for a location like this! They have a beautiful set up here, great for everyone. The Children's section has toys for little ones and comfy pillows to sit on, as well as comfy chairs for tired adults! I love the teen/middle grade reader section too - so many options for teens with varied interests. The rare book collection is very cool too! With a great selection of coffees, teas and snacks, I can definitely see how you can spend an entire day here, easily. They also have a monthly book club, and a really cool fountain as you walk in. Lovely, just lovely. When you enter you're greeted by the scent of books and by the friendly staff. They're quick to ask if you need help finding anything, but not pushy if you're just browsing. Today I lingered for 4 hours, sipping chai latte and working on grad school applications. I overheard many conversations between the clerks and guests and I was impressed by the staff's ability to ask probing questions to guide customers to favorite authors or as well as unknowns who will soon become new favorites. Among the books there are fun descriptions and quotes that make the browsing all the more enjoyable. The furniture is cosy and eclectic and the WiFi is solid and consistent. So why three stars? As a "bookstore" the modest selection is very scattered and hit or miss, and I found the organization, and labeling of prices (lack thereof) to be frustrating. As a fun store with a really beautiful ambience, perfect for browsing on lazy afternoon? This is your place! As a matter fact I have seldom found better! If you are in the market for a specific book, or specific type of book, don't be surprised if you're completely frustrated. This is one of the cutest bookshops I've ever encountered. Their selection of books is pretty wide, but I do have difficulty understanding their organization sometimes. There's a counter with barstools where you can order coffee and small pastries. The staff are generally friendly. I've had times when the staff is warm and conversational and other times when I feel awkward because they're arguing or don't bother to say hello when I walk in. There's a nice little reading nook by the window in the back that I suggest checking out. Otherwise, it's definitely overpriced stuff, though you have to keep in mind it's a small business. read more

It's like stepping back in time to go to a place that encourages reading, perusing, and browsing with a great GREAT cup of coffee or snacks. Includes an amazing kid section, small fountain that will keep kids either entertained (or if you have a toddler-maybe soaked!) and vegan and gluten free treats. The staff is amazing and will go out of their way to help you find gifts or books for yourself. They even opened the door for us when we accidentally came just a minute after closing and still took time to find what we needed. They also host small events and book clubs including a book club for tweens that my daughter loves! Definitely plan to stay for awhile to browse. read more

I used to love this place a little more. We used to hold our book club meetings there every month. Then, without warning, I called to schedule one and was told they didn't do that anymore and that I should have read the newsletter. When we did hold meetings there, once, someone didn't write it down in the scheduling book and the owner was visibly angry. She allowed us to have that meeting but the change followed soon after. It was very disappointing because it is a cute little store that normally has employees willing to help find or order books. However, now that I can't hold my meetings there, it's just easier for me to hit up a Starbucks and order something from Amazon. Cheaper too. read more
