We decided to treat ourselves to donuts this morning. When we arrived at the store, there were two cars in the drive thru and five people waiting at the counter for service. We joined them in line. The store was clean and well appointed. There was a nice seating area available. The staff was definitely not smiling and appeared to be having a very bad day...or maybe after looking at the Yelp reviews, every day might be a bad day there. We waited in line for about ten minutes. Not once during that time did the staff even acknowledge the customers waiting in line, even when spoken to. We finally made the decision to leave and buy our sweet treats at a competitor's shop (which were delicious, by the way!). With a name like "Dunkin' Donuts", I would assume they have ONE JOB to focus on... Selling donuts! Which they epically failed! read more

I don't know if it's just me, but this Dunkin Donuts is the worst donut place that I've ever been to. There were about fifteen high-school aged employees running around like chickens with their heads cut off, all trying to do everything at once. I ordered a turkey sausage flatbread with hash browns and was given a veggie flatbread instead. The hash browns were so overcooked they just fell apart into mush. I also ordered a coolata and was told, very rudely, when it arrived that I had ordered a flavor they don't make so I'd have to have this. I said no, because my choice was clearly marked on the menu. The young man went back, dumped a little flavor into the one he had already made me, stirred it with the straw a bit, and brought it back. Drive thru was pretty quick but they messed up my order very well. They did not have an item that is on their website. Staff were friendly and service was quick but very disappointing when you get home and your order isn't as you wanted. I always give places 3 chances before I stop patronizing them so I will return. We have gone here after church consistently for about 9 months. Service is miserable time after time. There is NEVER enough staff. You never get greeted. Our order is wrong more than it's right. Staff doesn't know how to use their own Dunkin Donuts app. It shouldn't take 25 minutes to order a couple breakfast sandwiches, coffee and donuts. We have given this place ample opportunities but I'm done. Won't be back unless something major changes. read more

I have been to this location at lesst 30 times before writting this review. The only reason I keep going back is for my wife. I dread it everytime but what we sacrifice for our loved ones. The service is nice so I gave them a star for that. But it is severly lacking. How can they only have one person running the register and then that same person making the order? Its like this more often then not. When I have to go inside cause the drive through line is backed up it takes forever. And all I want is some simple drinks. I just find their service set up unacceptable. Especially at primetime hours in the morning. read more

Most consistently messed up place I have ever been. Orders are either wrong, or just never completed. I've gotten quite a few free coffees and donuts coupons, so if you want to put up with terrible service and have time to kill you can probably eat here for free. Do it quick though, not sure how long this business model can last. I think Caribou will be able to snatch up this location dirt cheap in another year or two. Update: I did receive a coupon card for a free coffee and donut for my troubles. Used it yesterday and was told it expired before Christmas - well before they gave it to me. read more

Question for management Where do the tips go since they don't go to the employees? Met my fried here for coffee, We ordered our drinks and because the counter gal was helpful and nice I attempted to put a couple of dollars in the "$$$ tip cup" sitting on the counter. In attempting to do so the gal stopped me and said , if that is for me I won't get it because we don't get the tips. Of course we asked where the money went and she told us she hadn't a clue but the staff never received any of the money left for them, so we handed her the cash directly. She was polite and said thank you and we found seats and began to visit. As we sat we could see the manager filing orders and as he did, he would pull a cloth handkerchief out of his pocket and blow his nose, then return working. I can't believe how SLOW and terrible the service is! It should not take me 25 minutes EVERY time to get ONE latte. They are always understaffed at the busiest morning times, and the staff mopes around and takes their sweet time like their on a tropical vacation. They literally act and walk like zombies, it's unreal. I call this place Dunkin' Zombies now. Don't expect the staff to be friendly or talk to you either. It doesn't matter if it's the drive-thru or inside, both lines are always extremely long. I was inside yesterday and the lady in front of me threw up her hands and walked out. I have been there 3 times within the past week and given them numerous chances, but I am done. I will not be back and it sounds like several others won't be either. read more

The worst service ever! Took 20 minutes to get a medium coffee. We have tired it a couple of times thinking the service would get better but it never does. Everything is made it should not take that long. And the lady at the counter made someone else's drink that was behind us before ours, and it was just a regular coffee! read more

To say the service is bad would be an understatement I stopped in this morning waited at the counter for 10 minutes without being served. They were under staffed with one person working who tried to keep up but who would think a donut and coffee place would be busy in the morning. Apparently the manager of this place. If I could possibly leave less than one star for this Dunkin' location I would. I went there this morning and ordered an iced coffee with extra ice and just a little cream. You think that that would be a simple order, right? Wrong! What I got was a large cream with just a little coffee and no extra ice. I got to this place at least 3 times a week and there are only two people that are polite at the drive thru window. The woman that took my order was rude about fixing the coffee and was arguing with me about it. Some customer service, especially when I go there so much. This woman is rude every time I go there. This place has lost my business until something changes. I'll spend my money at Starbucks or Caribou. So, at 3 times a week, $4.75 for coffee and a couple donuts that's $14.25 a week, $57.00 a month, $684 a year that you will not be getting from me Ankeny Dunkin'! read more

The food is always very good and fresh and I ordered a large order and they had it ready the tight time! I love this place but there was an employee who was being rude to another employee behind his back in front of us customers and nothing was done about it and that was really upsetting because the other employee was just trying to do his job... read more
