Culver's It's about the food but it's also about expectations. Everyone is understaffed, so I always appreciate the service staff who are working. The staff working were polite and helpful A nice normal Culver's. The restaurant was clean. The service was fast and efficient .The food was good and solid, hot and delicious, and the portions were really normal. I had the Children's meal which included a single patty, small fries and a small drink. I get the root.beer which I enjoy. It includes a scoop of the daily custard or a token. People of any age can order a kid's meal and as a person of a certain age I find it is the perfect serving amounts for me it's about $7.50. I would recommend them. read more

I just want to leave a note that this was the best drive thru service we have had in years. A Sunday at 4:00 pm on Sept. 1. I didn't get a receipt or I would name names. Been here 3 times, order is never correct. Today I ordered a small sunday at the drive-through. I waited 10 minutes before going in to get my money back. The staff never acknowledge incorrect orders or seem like they care. The manager acted like I was an annoyance for wanting a refund because I didn't get my sunday. My replacement for a banana split was actually a 2 scoop sundae with a chopped banana. Nothing like what it was supposed to be. I was so disgusted I just took it and left. It was put in a large bag (cashier giggled as I tried to put it in without spilling) so when I got home it had of course fallen over. I like the products Culver's has, but they need to get the orders right and honor the coupon correctly. So instead of a 2 scoop banana split I was supposed to get, I got a drippy, messy, 2 scoop sundae with a chopped banana. It took me forever, toreach the store the last time my order was wrong......I guess I'll have to go farther and go to Baskin Robbins, where they get my order right, or Classic Custard down the street. Being from SoCal, I've never had Culver's. We do not have a Culver's from where I am from. So when my friend from twin cities said what's one thing that Iowa has that SoCal doesn't, Culver's came to his mind...I'm glad that it did! From the outside, it looks like boring, sad chain restaurant, but once inside the menu lit up my face! Maybe because I was a little hungry, we ordered the cheese curds and the chicken tenders. The tenders weren't anything special, but with a little ranch sauce, it made the perfect snack. The real star of the show were the cheese curds! Who would've though that little popcorn sized cheese curds would be the most addictive little snack! Would I go back? Heck yea if we had a location close to us. Would I try it again? Most definitely would give the cheese curds another go! Consider this a spot to hit up! read more

Yelp only lets you give a five-star review, but the service we received here was worth at least ten. The workers were friendly and the food delivery was very fast. While the Bacon deluxe sandwich we received was missing the bacon (the workers were busy so it wasn't really their fault), they gave us extra bacon when we told them about the mistake and were happy to help. Friendly staff and really quick service during Friday lunch. You order at the front and they bring food to you. Staff was walking around and picking up empty trays. Single bacon deluxe snack pack - comes with burger, fries and small drink. All under $5. I put everything on my burger and it was awesome. Fries are crinkle cut and were fried fresh and crispy. Cheese curds - fried awesomeness. Not too salty and chewy! Would definitely recommend. Their custard is quite delicious too! read more

Hey Culver's! We just visited restaurant #168 in Des Moines, IA on 12/15/2015 at 6:52 p.m., order# 254317. We placed our orders with three people behind the counter, which included a large cheese curds. After the order was completed and paid for, my wife noticed taped to the counter was a list of holiday promotions, including on this date a free medium cheese curds. I asked if I could be refunded the difference since no one let me know about the special. Most restaurants greet and then offer "Would you like to hear our special(s) for today?" Not this one. When I asked for a refund of the difference, one of the three guys said that he couldn't do that. Didn't offer an alternative or anything. No apologies. The guy taking our order may have been new. But I doubt the other two were. Also, none of three even appeared to know about the promotion until my wife pointed to it. Come on Culver's. I love you guys. I should point out that I normally get good service, but on this date it was very sub-par. I will be back but, if I have another visit that goes like this, I may have to find a better restaurant. I'd hate to put you guys with the likes of McDonald's and Wal-Mart, two businesses I refuse to patronize because of bad service. read more

I ordered a cheeseburger last night and got a double cheeseburger instead. I tried to remove one in the burgers and when I pulled it apart it was RAW in the middle of both patties. It was gross and was not edible. It was bright red and had still had blood red juice soaking into the bun. I just want people to know about this and check to make sure it's fully cooked. It could make you sick. All they gave me was a coupon for another meal. Why would I want to eat there again. It grossed me out. I'd rather have my cash back but that was not an option. Just make sure anything you order is fully cooked. I won't ever be able to eat there now and will not recommend it to my family or friends ever again! read more

This location is fairly close to the airport, which makes it very convenient. With all the options Culver's has, It's good for a quick snack before you head to the airport. Culver's is known for its famous "Butter Burgers" and this location makes them as good as any other. That's one of the things I've noticed about Culver's, its consistent. I really enjoy Culver's! If you get the chance and you haven't been, you have to go! The "butter" burger (which gives the impression they cook the burgers in butter, but that isn't true, they just butter the bun and toast it), is super greasy and YUMMY! They have a plethora of different meals. Everything from fried chicken (home style), to fried cheese curds (again, yummy), fish, chicken sandwiches, etc. etc. For dessert they have frozen custard "cement" mixers. Oh my goodness is that good! You can add two mix-in's at no additional charge, and believe me, there are plenty of choices! This is a must try! Warning: it is addicting! read more

Just placed an order tonight (drive through) at 7:02PM Guest #27. Yet again disappointed when I get home to find out that my DOUBLE w/Cheese (as per PAID order) ends up being a single no cheese. 2nd time within about 40day period of time. 1st time, manager was awesome and because I don't feel it appropriate to pass out my name and address to people I don't know, he marked my name down and next time I came in I got my same order FREE. This time I get "attitude" for not wanting to pass on PERSONAL information to the managers on duty and was told they "just had a meeting" that because they cannot be counted on to "remove names" from the list of THEIR failure to provide accurate orders, I am left with no option but to contact the owners of Culvers Des Moines SE 14th Street tomorrow. This is ridiculous, you guys screw up people's orders (it happens) and then force them to provide personal information to be mailed coupons instead of what is logical and allowing them to just get the next order FREE when they stop in again. Incompetence on providing an accurate order and incompetence on being able to rectify mistakes FORCES your customers to provide private information or just get screwed! Highly disappointing. *I am a health & fitness professional who takes his "cheat days" seriously. This SE 14th store is horrible. The service is horrible, they can't get ANYTHING right. They don't seem to know how to cook too well either. Reuben = LIGHTLY buttered and grilled (not at the SE 14th store) Here the Reuben is drenched in butter and cooked until the bread is charred. I had a PERFECTLY cooked Reuben from the 22nd street store. Butterburgers = Okay, if they are actually cooked thoroughly. The last time I had a butterburger from the SE 14th Culvers, the burger was pink in the middle. This is just plain unacceptable. Today, I am fed up. This is it. This is the last time they f*ck up my order because this is the last time I'm going there. I don't care if they simply forgot to give me the bbq sauce I asked for, this is the last straw. Hire some competent workers and maybe your establishment would be worth eating at. Until then, I will be frequenting any other Culvers in town besides the SE 14th store. read more
