Definitely a no-frills type of meal. I ordered the pork Luau "dish" and Mr W ordered the Huli Huli chicken. The Luau is very mushy as if it was sitting in juices for a long time. The Huli Huli was ok. Tasted like teriyaki chicken. Everything came out within 5 minutes. I guess it was already prepared and not cooked to order. I wasn't impressed. Presentation was lacking. Food tasted fine. It wasn't anything extraordinary or different. It's not the type of flavors I was expecting or really craving like when I was in Hawaii. The restaurant was clean. Service was nice. Quick. It would be an inviting place in the summer with all the Hawaiian decor. Coming out on a winter day, it didn't feel Hawaiian-like.

The service is friendly and the restaurant is clean. You can tell they focus on it as it's always a busy place. Service took a few minutes through the drive-through, but it was exactly as I ordered, hot and fresh, and they are simply trying to move the line along to give other people a chance to place their order. Ignore the three stars on this place. They are working hard to meet the demand that their restaurant attracts. Think about that.

I ordered the rice platter with falafel, and wow, flavor explosion! The tzatziki tasted homemade (because it probably is) and was super creamy and delicious. Now, let's talk about the tiny plot twist -- they charge $0.75 each for olives and feta. Not a dealbreaker, but for that price I was hoping for more than five lonely olive slices and a baby spoonful of feta. Still, everything else totally made up for it -- the food came out fast, fresh, and full of flavor. I'll definitely be back!

This is my second experience with Potbelly. My first was going through the drive through where I…read morecompletely screwed up my order because I wasn't familiar with the sandwich sizes or the ordering process. This was through no fault on the store's part. Today I ordered Potbelly through Foodsby. I ordered the "A Wreck" and loaded it up. The basics are salami, Angus roast beef, oven roasted turkey, hickory smoked ham with melted Swiss cheese. I made it big, doubled the meat, and added mayo, mustard, hot peppers, lettuce, onion, tomato, and Italian seasoning. I can only assume my sandwich originated at the Jordan Creek location (6305 Mills Civic Parkway, West Des Moines, IA 50266). Because I used a delivery service I can't speak on any experience in-store. The sandwich... Might as well just call it like I see it. It was a mess. Once again this is through no fault of the store. It's just what happens when you load something up with a bunch of crap and then get it delivered...or to go. This didn't impact the taste at all though. I just grabbed some extra paper towels from the break area and waded in. The bread was fresh and the sandwich was still warm from being toasted. I like the chewiness of the bread. It's not prone to getting too soggy or falling apart. The meat had really good flavor and I probably didn't need to double it up...but that's never a bad call. It's like saying there's too much bacon... Really? smh You can never have too much meat. Would I recommend Potbelly? Yes. I'm glad I gave Potbelly another chance. Yes...they're a franchise. Eat local...yada, yada, yada. That being said... The sandwich was really good...probably one of the better "warmed" subs I've had recently. And when ordered properly it's pretty filling too.

Tonight we started by sharing a Pretzel & Beer Cheese appetizer (see picture). While I don't often order pretzels, this was a great combination of texture (soft / tearable) and flavor (buttery with tasty seasonings) that I really enjoyed! For dinner, my wife ordered Traditional Wings (see picture) while I opted for the Oh No! burger (see picture). While we both enjoyed the wings, sweet potato fries and a side order of tots, we both found the burger to be well done and a bit on the dry side to our tastes.
