It's in a strip mall area so parking was plentiful but I could tell that it would fill up fast as it seemed to be one busy place. This is such a great business open 24/7 and has so many choices from really delicious regular style donuts donuts to Dairy free to most importantly gluten free. It's really hard to find things for kids who have a gluten intolerance or may have lots of allergies and this shop really hits a home run in offering choices. It's just so nice to get some choices for kids that have those food intolerances, so they can feel more part of a group and not be excluded. Everything tasted fresh and delicious. There are lots of classic and exotic flavors. I enjoyed the maple bacon bar , which was a yeast donut , dipped in maple glazed , topped with loads of bacon. My only suggestion, as in all good bakeries, is to come early. I am so happy to support this locally owned franchise business. They really go out of their way to give choices to all people who need choices meaning Dairy Free and gluten free as well as wonderful regular style donuts with lots of exotic icings and flavors. You could spend a good year going through all their choices , including cinnamon rolls as big as your head. This silly kid's joke from the 80s was no doubt the germ of an idea that built this franchise. It hints at nostalgia - a different era where kids didn't have phones and tablets in their faces around the clock and used their brains to think up stupid jokes that spread like word of mouth memes. And although the decor was cute and kitschy, it didn't really give 80s dad jokes vibes like I thought it would. There were some old movie posters but the overall theme was unclear. The donut selection is incredible though and the bakery case glorious to look at, making it hard to choose. I chose a classic pink sprinkle donut and it was great. A bit on the dry side but it was later in the afternoon so maybe not the freshest, or maybe their donuts are a bit dry as a rule. Service was fast and efficient and there's plenty of parking. It's convenient to the interstate, surrounded by ample parking, and it's open 24 hours a day! We stopped twice on our most recent visit to the area, once late at night, and once in mid-afternoon. (Dave is the owner of Hurts Donut or as I like to call him Chief Donut himself.) Let begin with the donuts first. My God I have never seen better flavors. As I started reading the labels my reaction was "Oh that looks good, oh that would be good, shoot I gotta try that one, definitely getting that one." I forced myself to stop reading the labels for fear of dropping a few thousand dollars on donuts. My drink was amazing too. I got a Nitro Cold Brew with a shot of caramel to really max my sugar intake for the night. Dave quips that Hurts Donut is open 25 hours a day, 8 days a week (run the quick maths on that one). Always a positive experience. Dropped in to pick a few donuts as a spring break treat. No line and some measures in place to help with social distancing. Staff was helpful and easy to work with my girls to pick out the perfect donut. We did eat onsite but there were no other guests at the time. We are proactive with COVID exposures and we would not have eaten onsite if others in the business as there is not room to properly social distance as it has limited seating and room for a line to order. Each new offering I saw was better than the last! I decided on the German chocolate, maple bacon, and cinnamon roll. The German chocolate - a moist chocolate cake donut with a velvety chocolate glaze and beautiful dollop of coconut pecan frosting right in the center. It's like a GC birthday cake for one. I almost didn't want to bite into it, as it was so very, very pretty that I didn't want to spoil its beauty. But I did...am I'm not sorry...because my tummy is soooooo happy! The perfect chocolate fix, with a lovely added texture. The maple bacon - there's only one way to describe it: COVERED...because it is covered in bacon. If it wasn't defined as a maple bacon donut, then you may not even know that the glaze exists...because it is COVERED in bacon. It was the first bite I took, and the first donut I finished in it's entirety. Need I say more? Lastly, and most notably, the head-sized cinnamon role. And, as large as they are while naked, on display in the case, they really come into their own once they're piled with that phenomenal frosting. I was thrilled to learn that they aren't dry for being so big (my biggest complaint elsewhere) and contain the absolute perfect amount of cinnamon. (I came in the afternoon so they were done). They have so many options that I would be here all day to describe all the flavors. But to name a few, they have oreo, Cookie Monster, red velvet, double chocolate, chocolate frosted (Ring). I had the double chocolate and the Ring. You can tell they were freshly made because they just fell apart and very moist. No wonder my clients were very impressed and happy to see their donuts because they loved them!
