My husband took me here so I could finally try one of my favorite things; a pastry & some coffee!…read moreThe community deserves this place! It almost transcends me into a bit of a European vibe of like no big American breakfast but rather a delicious pastry whether sweet or savory. The flow is a bit odd as I wasn't sure whether to access the bakery cases from the right or left but we figured it out. It was SOOO busy but honestly service was quick once we picked out everything we wanted! We tried the guava danish, the milk Cronut, the chocolate hazelnut Cronut, fruit tart, chocolate cloud donut, almond cheese croissant, and the tuxedo cake slice! Everything was 10/10, 5 stars, flaky, tasty, & the textures were on point. And to top it all off- they had a tiramisu latté on the menu. I had to have it & it was everything I could have hoped for! As a true Italian and lover of making tiramisu, it was truly authentic tasting! I will be returning and telling everyone I know to check out Tous Le Jours!

Overall, I do prefer Paris Baguette in terms of quality, but Tous Les Jours still has plenty of good options. One thing that could really be improved is the service. A lot of the staff come across as cold or unfriendly. One time I came in about 15 minutes before closing, and everyone seemed visibly annoyed that I was there, which made me feel unwelcome.

I looked up donut places and this lil place popped up and I was excited cus the pics of the donuts…read morein the case is what I wanted, but when we got there is it was called "River to River Bakery and Pizza". So I guess no more Brick Street Bakery? Great location. No donut cases displaying donuts. We had to ask about the donuts and it was 8am. They had the "fancy" donuts, you know the ones that people get creative with cereals and stuff. No plain every day donuts. I got the apple fritter. It had cherries in it, I didn't know that. The 2 ladies that were there were super sweet. There is some seating inside and outside. And you can see the old architecture of the building inside and out which makes it fun. They are only open 6am-2pm. Will need to go back and try their pizza as I was not impressed with the donut.

We had to try the goodies.. so I got the maple frosted cake donut. I wasn't expecting much... I'm not a huge fan of cake donuts because every one I've had has left me dry-mouthed and searching for water... but not here! Brick Street's donuts were not dry at all! Moist and perfectly sweet! The coffee (we just have it black) was smooth and tasty. My husband enjoyed his gooey sticky-bun :)

My #1 go-to local bakery!…read more My family's favorite is the apple cinnamon swirl. There is NOTHING else out there like this loaf. We would typically buy this loaf (or two) during the Des Moines Farmer's Market. During COVID19 review: They are still open and operating! Shop is closed for patrons BUT they welcome on-phone orders. They also have their tent stand at the Micro Market downtown on Saturdays! Drive up is super simple to pick up your goodies! My visit today was absolutely wonderful. I placed my order for 3 loafs of apple cinnamon bread on the phone with Amy on Wednesday. She spent a little time with me on the phone and let me know they will be ready by Friday before 1:00pm. She even offered a phone call when they were done! Great service! I love their whole family! I talked to Steve every time I went out to the market. He gives exceptional customer service: EVERY.TIME. Amy was a delight on the phone. And today I met Frank who brought out my order as curbside. He was a hoot to chat with and he sold me on more bread for next week. I've been a loyal customer for 6 years now. You can also find their breads and products at Hyvee! Most (if not all) of their breads are dairy free/vegan. I have never bought something with animal product. I also just learned that Perkup Cafe buys their apple cinnamon bread JUST to make their famous apple French toast. HIGH FIVE for local biz's supporting other local biz's!!! I highly recommend Big Sky Bread. Place your bread order on the phone this season and go pick up! You won't be disappointed.

If you have issues with gluten you think or you told all this mumbo jumbo- change your food to whole. Another thing. I thought this would spoil in a couple days. Lasts me the whole week. Love it!!! My only wish would be more seeds through out the bread.
