Came here one morning to work on some homework! Inside wasn't super busy, but they had a drive thru and seemed like it was poppin! I walked in and the vibe was similar to a Starbucks. Had good seating and some cushioned seating against the wall. I checked out their website before visiting so I was looking forward to grabbing a muffin, however their display case was empty so I wasn't sure if they had some in the back or aren't available at this location, but my introverted self was too shy to ask. I ordered an iced "Caramelized Almond Latte", it was okay, however I like my drinks more on the sweet side, so if I were to come back I would ask for some extra caramel or something. The coffee shop itself was clean but after a while I got a little chilly. Bathroom was nice and clean. Overall nice coffee shop and would recommend if you want something with a similar but calmer Starbucks vibe. read more

Dunn Brother's Coffee got 'er dunn. Nice location and shop. During COVID19 review: Visited on a Saturday morning. Upon entering there is no wait. Shop is cold and has an industrious feel. Ordering menu is large! Overwhelming. Food is served here. Glass case located next to payment area has traditional pastries. No plant based/vegan options. It looked as if there were no pastries. Visited a couple times already and it looked the same. Service was stiff. Nothing extraordinary. Was hoping service would be better the second time around. Ordered a medium oatmilk latte and large iced chai tea latte. But received a medium instead. Asked to have drink size corrected but they wanted to charge for the correction. Total came to $11.xx Upcharge on the oatmilk. I appreciate plant based milk options. Lots of open seating inside and outside. 2 employees were working and were masked. Every patron entering were masked. Masks are required to enter. Ok to drink w/o mask. Drink cooler needs to be handled by an employee. Noticed the in-house roaster. Roast is slightly smooth and made with good flavor. Recognized shop is a franchise. I might come back if I was in the neighborhood. Located in strip mall and they have a drive thru. Newer location as of 2019. My fave has been the iced Nirvana series. They brew coffee in house. Sign up for their rewards for some perks and discounts. Avocado toast w egg isn't a bad option for quick breakfast. read more

It really pains me to write this because I have had several good experiences at Dunn Bros, however I was completely blown away by the lack of service and or any sense of urgency to actually offer service of any kind. Today, was one of the worst dining experiences I have had in a long time. I ordered my caramel latte and build your own egg sandwich around 8:45am this morning. I was told the computer was down so they couldn't take my credit card but would start my order and I could pay when I got my items. I sat down and talked with my friend who was already drinking her coffee but waiting on her sandwich. Five minutes later, her sandwich was ready, so I went up to the counter and picked it up for her. Fifteen more minutes had passed and I realized I still hadn't gotten my food or latte. I went up to the front counter and the girl that took my order, looks at me and says "good morning" as if I'm a new customer. She then goes, "oh, you need to pay for your order." I paid for my order and I asked her for my sandwich and latte. She stated she hadn't made anything yet but would get started on it. I sat back down. I waited for over ten minutes (by now my friend is already done with her breakfast sandwich) and go back up to the counter. Another employee who was working the drive through asked if I needed help. I told her I was waiting on my breakfast sandwich. She said, "you already picked one up." I explained to her, I grabbed my friend's sandwich as she has bad knees and is unable to walk far. The girl who took my order walks over to us and goes, "what did you order again? I guess I could make it now." I kept standing there while another employee was cleaning the espresso area. I asked when I was going to receive my caramel latte. The girl working the drive though said, "You have a latte too?" So after waiting a half an hour for a sandwich and my latte, I finally got my food. Mind you, the location was not busy at this hour. The staff wasn't rude by any means but the girl at the register definitely needs to be trained on customer service and her role at the register. She seemed to be bothered by having to work and it was obvious by the way I was treated. Because of this, we will be finding a new location to have our monthly coffee dates. read more

Tried out Dunn brothers today and I probably won't be going back. The drink I ordered was a medium vanilla latte. The total came to $7.71 and the cup was mostly ice. The staff said maybe two words to me, so not super friendly. The place is clean, but atmosphere is weird. It's SILENT in there. No music, no talking, just the ambient beeping of a microwave oven. For this price I could have gotten two drinks at any other local place and a large at the Starbucks down the road . read more

I like trying new coffee places and this one is really close to home and it's on my way to work. The place looks nice and clean and they have a variety of coffee drinks to choose from. I'm a black coffee kind of guy so that's what I usually get. It was smooth and flavorful and it was hot. Some places tend to be lukewarm at times. I also liked how they had a lot of flavors to add to your drink if you wanted to. Plus they were clearly listed for you to choose from. The past few times that I've been here though I've had some not so pleasant customer experiences but I'll give it to them as they're still new and it could just be that one specific employee. I have been here twice thus far! The first I waited in the drive thru line for what felt like 10-15 minutes. Once I got up there, the service was fast, and my black coffee was delicious! The second time we went in to order. We got breakfast sandwiches and chai lattes and were pleased with it all! I will be doing paperwork here in the future. Recommended! read more

If I could give zero stars I would. Asked for a lavender lemonade and a plain bagel with plain cream cheese. From the start, staff were super rude. They told me it would take a while for the lemonade because it was frozen AFTER I waited 10 minutes. I was running late for an appointment so I told them just the bagel was fine. 10 minutes later they provide the lemonade and bagel.... Get to where I'm going, look in the bag, all strawberry cream cheese. Seriously?! Oh also, no straw for my lemonade that took you 20 minutes to "thaw." It took you that long to screw up a bagel and cream cheese with a lemonade order? Was the only customer they had. Don't waste your time or your money. read more

Its a typical chain coffee shop that offers a quality cup of coffee. No differentiation b/t this store, Starbucks or Caribou with exception of their on-sight roaster. If you're accustomed to informed baristas and a shop that is coffee first, you would likely be disappointed. Not in same category as say Horizon, Zanzibar's or even Coffee Smith. Lots of table seating with an area of comfy chairs at rear of store. They roast a few times a week with any beans post 7 days tossed. I do see this a source for beans to be used at home. That would move the store to 3.5 stars IMO. All in all - good cup of coffee, the standout being roasting, and everything else right down the middle. read more

I would be ashamed to own this place and have 2 employees for drive thru, the front, and DoorDash. You OWE your employees for doing 3x the work. Was excited to see this brand come to Des Moines area. Made a point to come for breakfast and was definitely disappointed. I'm extremely sad to be reviewing Dunn Brothers this low, but my last two visits have been very disappointing. I used to visit Dunn Brothers weekly for about one year and loved it, but recently the business has gone downhill. I tried to order food the last two times I visited and they were out of multiple ingredients to make their main items on their menu (bread, tomatoes, avocado, etc.). The sandwiches were very overpriced for what I received as well. I honestly would have preferred going to McDonald's for a breakfast sandwich considering what I received the past two visits. The environment here is enjoyable and clean. I would like to see Dunn Brothers improve their availability of food items (especially on weekends) and bring the quality back to what it was a year ago. The coffee still is decent, but for the price I will plan to support more local shops. I wish Dunn Brothers all the best and hope there is improvement in their quality of products. read more

Amazing coffee shop! Plenty of seating with chargers everywhere. Large tables that are perfect for work meetings. Excellent coffee with a wide variety of drink options. I love coffee shops. They are a great third place to meet up. This shop new to Waukee has lots of flexible seating, including a nice sitting area and an outdoor patio. They have roasting equipment, so beans are roasted onsite. I had a flavorful breakfast sandwich, that was much larger than expected. I opted for a nitro brew of which they had four or five options currently tapped. The drink was prepared by a very friendly and knowledgeable barista that sought insight into my flavor preferences and then she expertly selected a beverage she felt would be spot on. And she was right. I'll definitely be coming back! Great addition to the Wes Des Moines side of Waukee. read more

Payed almost 6 dollars for a medium iced latte which was smaller than most smalls from other places and all iced drinks are served lukewarm.

We loved Dunn Brothers Coffee! Great food and coffee! It is such a cute place too! Our whole family enjoyed it.
