I have been super excited to try this place as I have the coffeehop pass and have had serval people mention this coffee shop. I thought it was pretty good and was a different environment to grab a coffee. A friend and I went on a Sunday morning, so it was pretty busy and we had to wait a little bit to find a seat. We found street parking on Ingersoll and had a short walk over which didn't bother us, but I can understand how parking is an issue during busier times. My friend and I both enjoyed our drinks but weren't blown away. I also tried the breakfast burrito which was okay, but I probably wouldn't order again. I was hoping to try the breakfast sandwich but they were sold out. I liked this shop, but it is not a place I would go out of my way for. read more

Weird interaction with the workers here.. ordered a cappuccino and but got a flat white. When I nicely asked if I could have a cappuccino I was rudely spoken to and told a flat white is a cappuccino. Huh? Definitely had me second guessing so I quietly went back to work but I later looked it up and it's not the same thing.. i don't think I'll be coming back here. read more

Had the bee sting and it was a super tasty, unique drink! It was part of their seasonal menu I believe but the other drinks on there looked pretty fun too. It's really cool in that it has a unique vibe as it's half coffee shop and half a bike store. I still felt I could focus on work while in there. The staff was all pretty helpful. *Note that there isn't a ton of parking right by it. There are some lots nearby but some of those are restricted so don't get towed. read more

I have a passion for good coffee and bicycling, so the arrival of this new business in the neighborhood is a pleasant surprise. Locals have been watching this excellent building being renovated for quite some time and happy to see it's first occupant setup shop. First visit in was great! A nicely balanced cold brew made with their own cold brew Bean blend. Slightly acidic at the top but without the sweet / Berry finish that is starting to become popular amongst coffee houses. A shout out to the staff for their friendliness and the great information that they shared. The bike desk was not open at the time, but I would not be surprised to find similar personalities manning the shop. I will look forward to seeing what that part of the business is about in a future visit. Things to know: * There is no lot parking available for this business. Street parking only, unless you have ridden your bike in. In that case there are several bike racks out in front of the building, and a "bike lot" (with its own bike entrance) if you'd prefer. * The people entrance is a bit tight for bikes. The bike entrance is highly recommended. * They have a loyalty program if you are a collector of points. * Located just south of Ingersoll Avenue, the shop is a great stop if you are shopping The Shops. read more

Loved the look and ambiance of the place. Hipster coffee shop. I was bummed to find out by my body reacting that the chai lattes were not dairy free- even when ordered with dairy free milk. Other than that, enjoyed sitting there. read more

One of my favorite coffee shops in the DSM area! They have a maple cinnamon latte that I get with light sweetness and it is amazing! I keep coming back for it. Really nice employees and a great coffee shop to work from. read more

This was yet another coffee shop my girlfriend and I stopped at on our cross-country roadtrip, and I was very impressed. The shop was so cool and displayed their wide selection of bikes for sale. The vibes were absolutely on point. We got some coffee and a rose sugar cookie. The coffee was great (summer specials were fun) and the cookie was amazing for someone with a sweet tooth, maybe too sweet for someone who's not into that. Fun and casual place to grab coffee. The coffee/espresso bean they use is fruity and the drink I got tastes good. The staff was friendly and helpful and the space was clean and modern. The only downside is the parking isn't great. It's street parking and it's always very busy. read more

Plentiful parking is available directly across the street in new parking lot as of summer 2025. It will be a pay per hour lot in future but C&S will validate parking. Disregard earlier reviews, it is definitely not an issue now. Now for the review: Coffee shop in front of store and bicycle shop in back, what more do you need? Coffee is very good here. Lattes are on par with best shops in town. Baristas are friendly. Bike mechanics are knowledgeable and top notch as well. They don't carry very much bike accessories but can get most things delivered the next business day. read more

Love the coffee and interior ambiance. The espresso is great! I enjoy the seasonal flavors as well. Plenty of tables to sit and work. However, the parking situation is AWFUL. Only 4 spots directly out front (street parking) and then everyone else parks along the main road which is a bit of a hike away. Would not recommend for a meeting or a "quick stop." The awkward parking issue keeps me from coming there. Which is sad because the espresso is wonderful. read more

This place is barely busy whenever I go, making it enjoyable to sip a cup of coffee. They do a nice latte art too when ordering certain drinks and the people taking your order seem cheerful and quick working as well. I enjoy the natural lighting that this place has. Chain and spoke is a great local coffee shop! They serve delicious coffee, have wonderful service, and lost of desks/outlets for studying/socializing. Parking can be a bit tough as they don't have a lot (at least as far as I know!) but there is street parking nearby for 2hrs and a few spots in front of the shop. Love the ambiance and the bespoke seasonal/specialty lattes here. I always want a beverage I can't find anywhere else and I was able to enjoy 2 such lattes here. The fact that it's in a restored industrial warehouse that is now a bike shop/remote work/community/hip coffee date spot makes it even more of an elevated hangout that you want to visit weekly.
