Masks are mandatory which I love! I'm happy to support this cuteee shop whose employees go out of their way to serve their customers. Got an Iced mocha for a friend(Iced during December? I know, he's crazy ;)) and ****Creme Brulee Coffee Cake**** YUMMMM. So tough to decide which is better- Old fashioned or the Creme Brulee. Tip: Try both :-D

Always great friendly service! I love getting the different iced mochas, half sweet. Cabin coffee introduced me to my first coffee drink about 15 years ago(in Mason City) and I'm so happy to have one close by now! It always takes me back

I finally got to try this place while I was in town for work. I'd heard great things so I wanted to check it out myself! The parking lot was a bit confusing but I eventually got inside. I took forever scanning the menu but finally decided on a coconut latte and a slice of creme brulee coffee cake. While I waited I looked at the decor and it just felt so homey! Once I got my order I snagged a quick bite of my cake and it was mindboggling good! I really appreciated the recommendation by the gal that took my order. My latte was okay but I'm pretty sure it didn't have any coconut syrup in it cuz it only tasted like espresso, which was a bummer. The decor is for sale which I thought was cool. The cups, mugs, and shirts for sale were very cute as well. I would like to come back to enjoy my coffee and cake onsite!

I've past this place numerous times and decided that a rainy day was the perfect time to stop in. I stopped in around 12:30 on a Friday, the place only had a few customers so I was able to snag a spot next to the fire place... now, around 1:30 or so they turned it off, no heads up, but I don't think it actually gave off heat. I ordered a turtle mocha, it was AMAZING! I also ordered a cabin club sandwich, great size and portion.. nothing really special, I do like that the bacon wasn't in strips, it was in a round shape so every bite had bacon in it. Great touch! A customer in the drive thru ordered and didn't have their wallet, so the staff offered me the drink free. Feel bad for the poor guy, but i got to try something new (a white coffee drink with half/half and vanilla) safe to say I will be back!

Wow, I guess I am the first one to review this new location in Ames! I've been to the Cabin Coffee location in Clear Lake and was quite impressed with that one, so when this opened in Ames is pretty pumped up about going. Today, on this super cold and snowy January morning I stepped into a VERY busy Cabin Coffee on E. 13th St. It was busy, but we didn't have to wait long to get our order in. The decor is Western-themed and they have a lot of nice amenities that you wouldn't find in most coffee shops. One such is their ability to roast their own beans on-site. Even many well-known coffeehouses can't offer this. One unique thing to mention is their meeting room in the back. This is a great feature for those morning business get-togethers. It's pretty busy in there but feels homey. They sell lots of gift items, including bagged freshly-ground coffee, coffee mugs, tumblers, presses and even clothing. The menu is pretty good sized. They make many specialty hot and cold drinks and have at least five different plain coffee brews available at all times. You can get a few good breakfast sandwiches and pastries for breakfast and a variety of sandwiches for lunch. I had a breakfast sandwich with egg, monterey jack cheese and sausage on a bagel. It was great. My drink was the Tumbleweed, which consists of a highly-caffeinated white coffee, caramel, whipped cream and sea salt. I've been told the mocha drinks are good and will try one of those next time I'm in. Overall, I really like this place. It's a nice atmosphere with friendly staff, good food and great coffee. My only regret is that this coffee shop wasn't in Ames ten years ago. I highly recommend it!

We stopped in on 5/21 on our way to MN. Wow. So much better than Caribou. So much better than Starbucks. My mocha was delicious!

Visited twice on recent business trip to area. Great medium roast coffee. Coworker had ice coffees and frappes. No complaints.

My wife and I stopped by the First Street Sidecar location in Cedar Falls this past weekend…read more Unfortunately, this location does not appear on Yelp, so I am leaving a review for the College Hill location (which I have visited in the past). Here are our thoughts below! Food/Drink: Monster Cookie (Yum! This cookie was HUGE, soft, and delicious. Rating = 8/10). Hot Cinnamon Roll Latte (This tasted nearly identical to a warm, gooey, cinnamon roll! Be warned - it is a very sweet beverage. Rating = 7.7/10). Iced Hazelnut Latte (YES! This is basically almost as good as it gets when it comes to a latte. Absolutely scrumdidilyumptious. Rating = 9/10). Service: The service here could not have been better! Our barista's name was Brianna, and she had a phenomenal attitude. She looked excited to help us out and appears to love her job. Her passion for her job truly shined through during our time in the shop. Ambiance: As mentioned above, this review is based on our visit to the First Street location in Cedar Falls. It has a much different vibe than the College Hill location. The First Street location is not quite as "homey" as the College Hill cafe and has more of a coffee chain feel (not as much unique character that I typically enjoy with local coffee brands). The College Hill location, on the other hand, has much more personality. It is an excellent place to get some work done, read a book, or meet up with friends! All in all - we undoubtedly had a 5-star experience at Sidecar this past weekend. Excellent food and drink and some of the best service we've received in a while!
