BICCCH FUCK U first of all i loved caribou to death and went everyday for a year swear to god i defended them but the other day i brought my friend there for the first time we ordered two medium drinks and a sandwhich and it was $20 which is outrageous but expected whatever, we waited in line for 30 mins for them to make our drinks and then they GAVE US SMALLSSS SMALLLLLSSSSSSSS when they charged us for mediums. they're smalls are one sip and then gone, literally nothing. for $20. after we waited FOREVER in the drive thru. the sandwich they gave me was half frozen and not edible. at all. idk what the f was going on but i'm so pissed. all this for $20..... heartbroken. we debated on waited in line again but we already had waited almost 40 mins and had drove off when we realized it was a small. #givemearefund read more

The attitude of the barista was not what i was used to. I tend to go to many different coffee shops to try and see if they meet my standards in terms of helpful and tasteful coffee but this was under that bar. The girl who took my order was very impolite and unwilling to help which isn't a good quality in an employee, especially in food and beverage industry. read more

Here's the thing about this location, it's convenient. That's why I keep coming. That being said there is a lot left to be desired from it. First it needs to be upgraded. They recently got new furniture, but instead of getting rid of the old stuff they just jammed it all together, which makes it hard to move. The building itself has several disrepair issues, but that is more so on the landlord and not so much caribou. Second is the consistency. More then once I've had drinks be made wrong/poorly. More often when I'm going through the drive through or ordering delivery. If I'm getting it through drive through if I call they will comp my next drink, but let's be honest it gets old to complain and have it fall on deaf ears. When doing delivery it has to go through the service and they only allow so much until they think your lying. Third, the help. This is the part that drives me nuts. As I sit here now the help is actively cussing, screaming at each other etc. Topics have ranged from calling their coworker (who wasn't there) a coke addict, to a guy being upset because one of the females wouldn't sleep with them. All pretty graphically said as well. A new worker is here and made a comment about not work appropriate conversation and they laughed and said that "when you work here long enough you'll stop caring about being appropriate.". This isn't new behavior after the pandemic, it was like this previously though it was less of the help then. I've brought it to management- it's obvious they don't care. They also are talking about how much they like the competing chain better because they give the workers more free stuff. If you are looking for someplace clean in the area to hang out in for a few hours then this is a good option, the coffee is ok onsite most of the time, they have ok internet. I wouldn't recommend it to someone who is looking for a relaxing place or someone who is easily offended. read more

If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. It's ridiculous how awful the service is. The young lady at the window was extremely rude and didn't even say hi to me when I got to the window, she just demanded the money. Once I gave her my cash, she asked if I wanted the change. I was taken a back because I have never been asked that before at a coffee place. The drive through line was short and yet I had to wait in line for 20 plus minutes for my drink. Once I got my drink and I took its first sip, I could tell that the milk was wrong when I had asked for an alternative milk to the original AND it tasted sour. The amount of people that I could see through the window giggling at me for my drink was ridiculous. I won't be coming back anytime soon. Get better at your service and train your employees better! read more

Unfortunately the last time I was in there I was uncomfortable as an older woman waited on me and had a bad impatient attitude. I dig this Caribou... It's no lie they probably know I'm a Bucks fan, cause I always order my drinks as Venti's but I'm starting to frequent this Caribou even more now.. They have such a comfortable environment to work for a few hours, the internet always works good and I'm starting to dig the Iced Coffee here! This is one of my favorite Caribou locations. Everyone is always so friendly and eager to help. I come here at least 2x a week and they never disappoint. It's one of the cleaner locations that I have been too as well. I love iced coffee no matter the time of year. And the malted Crafted press is delicious. Service is always pretty quick here. Never really have had to wait too long to place an order or to pick up my drink. I highly recommend the cold press coffee with almond flavor syrup. The coffee flavor isn't too over powered by the syrup. There has been a few occasions where I have order iced coffee and they forgot to put the syrup in. On occasions when I have asked for an iced drink they made it hot. They have always offered to make me a new one. There is plenty of ample parking spots. read more

I've been to this Caribou Coffee many times and other Caribou coffee's around the country and I'm always impressed with the courtesy and attentiveness of the staff. it has been revamped a little bit from the old days where you could go in and hang out and work on writing projects using the internet now you can have the to-go line or you can come in and rather large waiting area or to your coffee and get it right away. I usually get a dry cup of Chino when they actually know what that is and how to make it. They have some good food I've had bagels here and they've been tasty in some cookies it's not anything outstanding. I've also had some of their coffee over the years from their independent coffee farms and single origin coffee which is good. They used to have some annual special coffees and I'm not sure if they can do that anymore or not. definitely worth supporting plenty of parking if you want to go in and not sit in your car and get the coffee to go. read more

Very cute coffeeshop :) This is my first time coming to this location and I noticed it was pretty full, but it's still a peaceful atmosphere of people working or having a casual coffee date. They have coconut and almond milk options for most of their drinks, and some food and tea if coffee isn't your thing. My sister and I both got iced vanilla lattes with almond milk and they were super delicious- strong robust coffee flavor, not too sweet (I'm someone that can usually just drink black coffee, so I'm glad it wasn't lacking in coffee flavor/overwhelmingly sugary), but not bitter either. The place has cozy, warm lighting and friendly, helpful employees. We'll probably be back tomorrow :) read more

The best Caribou in Des Moines. The size: this place has to be one of the biggest caribou coffee shops period. The coffee: my favorite mochas and speciality drinks on any winter day. This place LITERALLY got me through college and grad school... Their blend of steamed milk, chocolate, and whatever else they put inside definitely makes me return for more. The environment: lots of tables and chairs. This place is a great alternative to Smokey Row (which is always busy). The service: friendly and quick. The wifi: The one thing they could improve upon is their wifi. I've had issues with it before and when it's time to get work done, not having wifi almost defeats the purpose of trying to work outside of your office or home. I went here on Saturday morning around 8:15 a.m. and it's one of the faster coffee shops I've ever been to. They made my specialty coffee drink and warmed up my bagel within 2 minutes. The inside of the cafe is very clean and the staff is friendly. It's a great place to get some work done too since they have a ton of tables inside and outside. They have a lot of little gifts inside too if you're looking to buy a coffee lover something small. Check this place out, it's better than Starbucks! read more

Worst location I moved 3 days ago and each of the three times I've been here they have messed something up. They are all lazy women and don't seem to care and they never ask for your perks number. Service: Ehh... nothing to complain about. They're usually fast and friendly. Food: I'm not a fan of their food food. They have breakfast sandwiches that just came from the freezer. Bread is soggy. I only come here for the coffee & tea. I'm not a huge fan of their coffee though, but I'll drink it. Free refills if you stay! Many come here for their blended ice drinks! Notes: Good study feel. Gluten-free-ers: The only thing that was gluten free that I could spot, food wise, was their little bag of nuts and dried fruit near the counter. Overall: I'll come again when I need to study. This place looks like a great study space! It's ideal for all the students at nearby universities. There's a large conference room you can reserve for group study. I've never seen that at a coffee shop before. I also love all the tables in the main room. They look like they have plenty of space for students to study. There's a chalkboard with a calendar displaying all the nearby school events (i.e. finals, winter break, etc.). This place looks like it really cares about it's community. As for the drinks, I really liked the dark hot chocolate with whipped cream. Soooo good & perfect for the snowy cold weather! Yummmm... this was a perfect choice. So disappointed with the service here. I was in the drive thru line and I had just finished ordering my drink when I was faced with an emergency in my car. I asked the drive thru operator to help but I was given no response. I started screaming and begging for help because I was in desperate need but there was absolutely no response. I was stuck in that spot unable to move for a solid 5 minutes and no one asked me if I needed help and no one would reply to me when I called out to them. It felt like I was trapped in a nightmare. I know they could hear me because they had barely finished taking my order so I know they were there. Once I was finally able to move again I just drove off and didn't bother picking up my drink at the pick up window because I was so horrified and traumatized by what had happened. I can't bring myself to ever come back here again even though I used to get my morning coffee here almost every single day because of its close proximity to my home. I reached out to Caribou coffee to discuss this incident and make sure this doesn't happen to anyone else but they were no help and they did not even apologize. So disappointed. read more

Caribou is hands-down my favorite coffee shop. Their lattes are creative and delicious, the decor is cozy and cabin-like, and the straight coffee is so delicious. The Ingersoll location is huge and the staff is so friendly. The gift shop-esque ordering station is a great place to wait for your drink. Quick service, lots of cozy seating and a friendly atmosphere. I bring family here when they're in town and it's easy to waste an hour here chatting and enjoying a warm (or chilled) drink. My husband isn't a coffee drinker so his regular is the Mango Orange Key Lime smoothie. Don't check the sugar contents, but these smoothies are so good. My regular, a medium light roast with cream. Loved coming here during college to study. I have never been disappointed with a cup from here. I drink straight black coffee so I'm particular about the taste. Caribou doesn't disappoint. Staff is always friendly and they have cute mugs for purchase. People are always happy with a gift card from here so if you need a last minute gift, remember Caribou. This is a pretty spacious location as well, lots of easy chairs and outlets to plug into. The fire place adds a nice touch also! Bottom line: Probably about as good as a Caribou Coffee can be. I love this Caribou! It's like a cute little ski chalet :) The location is just a short drive from downtown. On a nice day, it's definitely walkable from the sculpture garden. There is ample seating, with a lot of customers coming and going, so seats come available all the time. I feel like if you want to commit to a few hours of working time while sippin' away on a coffee, to arrive on the early side though. My super boring vanilla latte is always perfect. Sometimes, I'll change it up and get an iced vanilla latte. I'm a true creature of habit and just love vanilla lattes. They get it right each time. I like this Caribou. They have a great patio that sort of sits away from both the parking lot and the drive-thru. There is quite a bit of traffic noise from Ingersoll Ave, but it just sort of becomes white noise quickly, and it's a nice spot to read or draw. The inside is spacious, and often has a lot of Des Moines University students studying, or a couple of knitters meeting up and working. I'm sure others run into folks they know here, but on occasion I enjoy the anonymous vibe, and I get that, here. Never once have I run into anyone I know, except that time I saw Keith Murphy (local celebrity) from Channel 13, having a meeting. So, you know, that's awesome b/c I'm a fan of his. But, otherwise it's just a nice solid coffee shop with a fabulous snuggly fireplace going in the winter. So, good for a brew any day, patio in fair weather, and fireplace on any other Iowa day. read more

A bit off of I-235, but not too far, just enough to snap me out of the hypnosis of driving hundreds of miles through rural America. On my last visit the drinks were standard Caribou yum and the decor the same as most other shops in the chain. I took it down a star because the barista didn't ask if we wanted our drinks hot or cold, so I ended up with a hot beverage on a really hot summer day.
