3/22/25 1300: Slow, rude employees. The employee that took my order kept rolling her eyes when the window server or the barista spoke to her. Then another woman came in so there were 4 staff, 2 customers plus me inside the restaurant and 4 in drive through. All were served before I spoke up. My drink was not made until I asked about it twice. I was polite, not rude but I will not apologize for being female and asking for what I have already paid for. This location is very convenient for me to go to. However, lately, there have been no stoppers in the cups, no sleeve and my drink is 3/4 of the way full. If I am paying $6.50 for a drink, it needs to be full and have a sleeve so I don't burn my hand. I feel like it's went downhill since Tina left. Disappointed read more

This is my go-to location on the way to work! I always ask for extra-extra caramel drizzle in my americano and they give a generous amount. They are quick even when there is a line and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The inside seems to be clean and well stocked. read more

New location! Still the same fast paced, high energy Starbucks. Still the same place to come here to see and to be seen. Beautiful modern look with nice lighting. Very roomy with lots of seating. Very loud (as expected!) but is amplified by more people this location can seat. I love the mobile order line. Very efficient. Ordered two Samoa mocha frappichinos made vegan. My tab was $12.xx They made it quick and just right! I waited 10 min max! Cashier was friendly and talkative. Behind the counter, where the baristas were making drinks, was efficient. I could hear their communication keeping up with the drinks very well. Visited at 9:15am on a Friday. Orders were picking up quickly by the minute. Street parking with meter pay. This could be challenging for someone who is in a hurry and is driving. I recommend when visiting this location: HAVE MARGIN FOR TIME. Finding parking will take a bit and then having to walk across some streets will take time. You're lucky if you get prepaid meter parking right in front of the shop. (Don't have this expectation) Even if you're in a hurry this location is really good at being fast. They're used to it. But don't expect it to be like other locations in West Des Moines when you drive here. read more

I love coming here on the weekends. The weekend mornings can be pretty calm depending on the day. The staff is also always so friendly. I've never had a problem coming in to order customized drinks. They have Apple pay here which is nice especially if you're trying to avoid touching things. And masks are required. They have a couple bathrooms, they are both gender neutral and private. Due to covid they have limited seating, but there is seating: indoor & outdoor patio. I saw they had a couple outlets indoors if you need to plug in your laptop. I definitely recommend stopping by and not be discouraged by the idea that it's Starbucks and muuuust be busy. Because the staff is amazing here, and they're fairly fast. read more

As a former Starbucks barista, I know how to order coffee from a Starbucks. I also understand that I have a certain expectation of any and all Starbucks locations, understanding the f when things are busy, and the sheer amount of differentiation of the menu items. That being said, I think the partners at this store need a bit more training. As I stood in line, the guest ahead of me wanted to use their rewards stars, and between two different partners, they couldn't figure out how to complete the transactions for this customer. When it was my turn, I asked for a grande drip with sugar cookie syrup and half and half. The partner stared at me for a moment before replying, "I don't know what a drip is" as she started to glance around the store. I may have looked at her in disbelief as I said, hesitantly, "ummmm...coffee?" Her response was, "oh, you want coffee?" I looked around to ensure I was actually in a Starbucks before replying, "yes, that would be coffee." I paid and moved over, but the partner continued to stare at me as she prepared my drink. Am I old? Are we not referring to coffee as "drip coffee" anymore? It could be me, but it's my regular order. I travel a lot and frequent many many Starbucks. Brand new and fancy pants Starbucks in downtown. This is one of those hip modern Buck's where there is just as many mobile orders as people standing in line! So the line moves quick. Lots of modern furniture and places to relax and the staff here is 2nd to none! Clean bathrooms, good music playing, and the coffee is always hot! Love this new location! read more

Drinks= perfect, service =perfect. The guy that served us our drinks was incredibly nice and had wonderful manners.

One of my fave SBUX. Located downtown. No drive through. Lots of seats inside. This location is busy in the AM, but they are quick and efficient. Drinks made are consistent and they know how to make drinks correctly. Use the mobile app and order ahead. Most times they have my order right when I arrive. There is parking on street and is free before 9 AM otherwise you got to pay. read more

***Update*** Manager addressed my concern and offered a solution to make sure my order is correct from now on. I really appreciated that. Okay, so this is my go to Starbucks because it's close enough for me to walk to during my lunch breaks. I always order the same thing. Venti vanilla bean frappuccino with coconut milk, no ice and no whipped cream. Some people might find it odd to order a frappe without ice but I have a serious medical condition involving the motility of my esophagus and there are many textures and temperatures of foods and drinks that I cannot tolerate. I'm also vegan. So I placed the order on my app like always before leaving my office. 10 minutes later, I arrive at Starbucks and they haven't even started making my order yet. Fine, no problem I dont really mind waiting. So I see a barista that I've never seen before pick up a venti cup and make a snide comment about my drink. 2 minutes later they call my name for the drink that I attached a picture of. I'm giving 2 stars instead of 1 because usually they fill the cup up. But the fact that the comment was made, they barely gave me a grande size drink for a venti price and they took so long to make the drink that I didn't have time to address the issue without being late to work earns them this low rating. I'm giving this location five stars because it's indeed top tier. The manager clearly knows what she's doing and every visit feels special for some reason. This is partially due to it being smack dab in the middle of downtown, so there's a natural buzz and hustle to the place, but the staff itself is also very alert and engaged. Also, lots of nice seating! So many coffee shops opt for metal chairs, so it was very nice to see chairs with cushions/cushioned backs. read more

I'm going to start off with the fact that the baristas at this location were extremely friendly, EXTREMELY. However, they got both of my drinks wrong. I received the first drink- a normal cold brew when I ordered a nitro cold brew. I saw that the ticket on the drink was rang up wrong so I went up to the counter and told the barista about it. She was super friendly and apologized and made it right. At the time of them remaking my drink, they handed me my other drink that was for my boyfriend. I gave it to him and he informed me that it was wrong, and he was right (and so was the ticket). I didn't want to make another fuss with the barista and ask her to remake ANOTHER drink so we just dealt with it. Always go into this store, the manager is amazing. They have responsibly managed through COVID and are generally fantastic. Today was different. 7/31, 6:45am. Two girls working, one running around like a crazy person throwing straws and lids, no wonder my order was wrong (didn't know until I got to work). I don't normally write bad reviews, but the employees at this particular Starbucks have been notoriously slow and unmotivated to move any faster on Saturday afternoons. The tall colored guy was asked to come out to help the one person that was out in the front, needless to say, he apparently felt like his entitled butt didn't need to do anything. I was standing there waiting for my mobile order for about 10 minutes, in this time, I could see my cup sitting empty behind him with the label on it. It took him 3 minutes or more to put four drinks into a bag for a delivery. Then he turns around and as slowly as possible starts to make a drink, which took him as long as to make as the other barista that had just made three drinks. This doesn't happen in the morning when Paul is there in the morning. Never have any issues with quick service on Saturday mornings.
