I've never had an order go right here, but this time was worse, because I ended up getting yelled at by a staff member after they messed up my order. The only reason I went was because I needed to get lots of coffee for a work event and I decided to order food for myself and my daughter since we were already there. I ordered a breakfast wrap, a breakfast sandwich, and the tater tot things. Took the order, got in my car, left to eat at home and found that there was no breakfast sandwich and the bacon on the breakfast wrap was burnt nearly completely black. I knew I should have checked before I left because last time I ordered a breakfast sandwich with bacon - it had no bacon on it (and as a harbinger of things to come, I was accused of ordering it without bacon - why would I do that?) I went BACK to DD with my receipt to get the breakfast sandwich and a replacement of the burnt wrap. The last thing I want to do is to get back in my car and drive BACK to a place for food, but I already paid for it and I was hungry. When I went back with the bag and the receipt in my hand, the female staff member at the cash register seemed very understanding and remembered my order and that I had just come in. The male staff member, the one who made the food, was accusatory and skeptical. He looked at me incredulously and said "When were you in here? How long ago were you in here and NOW you come back because your sandwich is missing?" I showed on the receipt where the date and time was indicating that I was just there. "I took it home and realized it was missing and then came back here." He shook his head and said "I MADE that sandwich for you," accusing me of lying in front of my daughter even though the female staff member kept saying "She was just in here a second ago, remember? She was asking about coffee, she was just here" He rolled his eyes and didn't believe me and I said "Why would I lie? Why would I get back in my car and drive all the way back here, that's the last thing I would want to do. I'm not lying about it, you don't have to look at me like that, I just want the sandwich I already paid for" At which point he started yelling at me that he's free to look at me anyway he wants, I don't need to look at him or read into his look, he'll look how ever he wants, and then he started angrily shuffling stuff around by the grill and said "I'll make it, what do you want?" But after all that I definitely didn't want this guy making my food. "Never mind, I don't want the sandwich anymore, I just want my money back." The female employee refunded my card, and I just kind of hope that the man found the stupid breakfast sandwich he swears he made somewhere back there and realizes I wasn't lying and feels like a jerk for accusing me of doing so in front of my daughter whom I just had to load in the car and go drive back and forth to this god forsaken DD for no reason. I'm don't want to go back because that guy definitely hates his job and as someone who used to work in the food service industry - you don't want someone who hates their job touching your food. read more

I usually mobile order and 9 times out of 10 they do not get my order correct. They usually have the drink ready but if I order food, I have to ask for that. The employees always seem mad that they have to go get my doughnuts or whatever I ordered but read my entire order! I feel that they see the drink order, make it, and are done. I went this morning and, per usual,no doughnuts from my order. I politely asked the lady and she just looked at me grabbed ( the wrong) doughnuts I had ordered and when I asked for the ones I had in fact ordered, she got me the right ones and didn't even say sorry, here ya go, just threw the bag at me and walked off. This place never fails to provide an egregious experience. I rarely go, but considering I live within walking distance, I tend to reluctantly head over when I crave a tea and doughnut. That tea is never good. The doughnut, more often than not, is meh. Poor service and, significantly, a dirty location (the tables and floor appear to never be cleaned - no joke) only add to the "flavor". Avoid at all costs. read more

Showed up at 6:00p on a Friday night, 5 hours before they close, with my 4 year old to whom I had unwisely promised a donut. Alas, there were no donuts. I don't care if it's 5 minutes before closing, if you call yourself "Dunkin' Donuts" and you ain't got no donuts to dunk, you need to close your doors. I order Cottan Candy and Cookie and Creame Ice cream. I am extremely alergic to peanuts and my ice cream had nuts in it. The person who scooped my ice cream did not wash the scooper off and transfered nuts on my ice cream. Unknowingly seeing the peanuts i ate it and had to be rushed to the emergency room. My family has been trying to get in contact with the store but everytime someone calls, someone answers and hangs up. read more

Though it manages to pack in a deli and an ice cream shop, it's still a DD (hook a left for the coffee line) and it's still good. Warning, don't be dumb and get a donut at 9:30 pm, like me. A 9:30 donut is a stale donut. But the fresh coffee made up for it. read more

This dunkin' donuts screws up my iced coffee every single time, very inconsistent..I only keep going back because it is next to my apartment. One time they screwed up my two drinks 4 times in a row when i asked them to remake it- i was there for 45 minutes just to get two simple iced coffees (one caramel and one with french vanilla no cream) Another time it was so sickly sweet I couldn't believe it- when I had asked for no sugar no cream just vanilla!? She rolled her eyes she kept hugging and puffing and she was down right rude! When my 6 year old ask me what is wrong with her THAT IS A PROBLEM!!! It's a Dunkin Donuts. It's not a specialty donut shop. Not sure how you can expect a lot from a DD. They regularly carry my favorite flavor -- lemon-filled. I've discovered that many of the smaller DDs don't have lemon-filled anymore. I came here during Hanukkah and they had run out of donuts. I don't know how any DD can run out of donuts. Maybe they didn't expect so many Jews to be in Alexandria and for them to get their Hanukkah donuts from DD. Anyway, please try to be prepared next year. We entered this store early one morning to buy an ice cream cake. I was appalled at the lack of cleanliness. Not only were the bathrooms a total, nasty mess, the floor in front of the counter had not been cleaned at all. There was spilled food everywhere. If I could give them a zero star I would. I Have been here at least 10 times since I moved here. I always order ahead and they never have my order and I have to tell them what my order is when I get there. I one time ordered ahead with my husband and purposely waited 15 min before walking in (knowing they're very slow with orders) then when I go in I have to wait another 10 min. I had to remind them what my order was once I got in. Worst management at a dunkin I have never seen. They told me one time they don't make Frappuccino's... when I have ordered it before and they have made it before... then they walk away after telling me they don't make it. If they don't have something the worker will try and walk away from you without trying to give you another option. Beyond frustrated with this Dunkin'. Damn I love Dunkin but I really really love THIS Dunkin and it was my first time there. They literally made 2 drinks, 12 donuts, 3 muffins, & 3 turkey sausage egg white & cheese croissant sandwiches ready in less than 5 minutes. The most impressive part of that is that the whole staff worked together to get us in and out...not only that but everything tasted BETTER THAN ANY OTHER DUNKIN DONUTS IN THE AREA. I've stopped here twice now about 10 am on weekdays to pick up a coffee and muffin and each time it's been OK yet a bit disconcerting. I asked if they had a cranberry muffin and she said something I couldn't understand and I had to ask two or three times before I realized she said blueberry and I said okay to that. However, the coffee is always good and the muffin was tasty, although on the sweet side. And there's always parking! Another time I ended up waiting in a line and was told to move over as there was only one line to the two cashiers (this is after other people had been served who'd arrived later). read more

I came in for the first time today because I was shopping nearby at a department store. This has to be the largest Dunkin Donuts that I have ever been to in my lifetime. Secondly, they teamed-up with a popular ice cream store chain, so this huge location actually has two stores operating as if they were one. I wanted to try their new sandwich offering that I had been hearing so much about. It's called the Beyond Sausage sandwich. Although it looks like sausage, it is actually a plant-based derrivitive. The sandwich also includes egg and cheese that are served-up on a cool bisquit. If the music wasn't so loud, one could almost consider doing some work, that is how much space there is available inside this place. They had three people working behind the counter, which is more than enough help in my opinion, and everyone was nice and pleasant. read more

Visited this store with my son, he ordered a waffle cone with two scoops I ordered a 31 with Reese's cup. What I got was a 31 with Butter finger. But I didn't know this until I left because the place was so dirty that we could not sit down to eat there. All the trash cans were spilling over and out of the cans. There was three tables taken and I want to say that there were probably at least 10 tables left but all were dirty. They all had crumbs, cups or some sort of trash on them. You had two employees at the ice cream station when we arrived doing nothing, and three employees at the donut shop. No one could clean the place? So since we had to leave I was trying to enjoy my 31 then about 3 bites in I found a hair in the darn thing. Unacceptable. read more

I must have come here on a bad day, based on the previous reviews. Unfortunately, the service was very bad and the food was worse. I ordered a small breakfast chicken sandwich and waited over 10 minutes for it. A lady that was waiting before I even walked in, was there for 15 minutes longer after I got my food. The donuts tasted like they were from the day before. They were definitely not fresh and the coffee was very very gross. Typical jaded clerks for the most part. No 'hello,' or response to your pleasantries. You know that vibe you get from bad customer service where they kind of act like they're pissed off that you decided to come into their business? Yep. The saddest part is that the place has an awesome upstairs that is perfect for hanging out or reading, yet they'll kick you out of there hours before they close just to exert their "power." I'm not a donut connoisseur, but I've had a good number of donuts in my day. Now, I know that I'm going to a DD. I'm not expecting fancy service or amazing food. I just want some donuts to satisfy my late night sugar cravings... I've been to this location a few times, whenever I feel like sneaking donuts into the movie theater or need a pick-me-up before Target marathon shopping. It's not good service, but it's not bad enough to keep me from coming back. My donuts are normally stale (perhaps not stale, but definitely not fresh.... Like they've been sitting for hours on end) but I've never had an issue with the coffee. They've never gotten my order wrong, but the terse responses from the employees there really don't make me want to spend anymore time in the store than I need to (that could be part of their strategy though hmm). The tables are generally very clean and there's always an abundance of seating choices. Giving it 2 stars for the employees and the fact that when I come to get my donuts, I don't want stale ones. read more

New to the area, and this franchise location disappointed. I have visited twice and both were unsatisfactory. First time was about 5pm on a weekday and was empty but waited too long for an iced coffee. Second time Saturday late morning, asked for an iced coffee with sugar and caramel swirl--yes I wanted a super sweet drink. However what I was given was a bitter sad drink. Stingy with their caramel. This location let me down this morning. So after my workout nearby, I ordered coffee for pickup on my app. Which I have done at several other locations without problems. I get to the location 5 minutes after I place the order and I noticed a long line. I went to the pickup area which was on the other side of the counter and noticed that my order wasn't there. So I took a seat and waited about 3 minutes, then I walked up to the counter and looked around and noticed that they had only one person working behind the counter, at that point I decided to walk back to the door and get in line with everyone else. It was a long line and I must have waited about 10-15 minutes and saw several other people walk up to the pickup side. After more minutes, the only person working went to the other side of the counter and stopped taking orders and started preparing the online orders. This was amazing because this one single employee was working the whole coffee shop by herself. The employee finally called my name and I got my beverage the good news is that it was correct. My problem is the staffing of a coffee store at 6:30-7 am. I would imagine that this is the peak time for coffee drinkers and you need more employees staffed. Overall my wait time from the moment I walked into getting my beverage was between 25-30 minutes. All I ordered was a large coffee, cream, and sugar. I must praise the efforts of the single employe and bring immediate attention to the staffing situation. read more

This restaurant is gross. Floors, tables and chairs are dirty. Bathroom is nasty. More toilet paper in the sink than in the stalls. Door locks don't work. No paper towels to dry your hands. Scared to order because to me if the restaurant is nasty, the food is nasty. Hubs had a drink he didn't enjoy. Has definitely gone down in the past couple of years. read more

Donuts and ice cream--a winning combination! To top it off, there is also ample parking! This location is also huge with a ton of seating. Dunkin does well with donuts, but I can't seem to find a coffee of theirs I enjoy. I do like their new tea lattes though. As for Basking Robbins, I've been eating their ice cream since I was a kid. It's not fancy, but it fits the bill for ice cream. My favorite is cookies and cream, but most of their flavors are pretty good. This place also makes a great stop after shopping at the other stores in the plaza. read more

Oh the disappointment. I was out shopping on a very busy Sunday (#christmasseason), and all I wanted was a cup of coffee and a bagel and to sit in peace and recharge my batteries. This place was so dirty I couldn't bear the bought of sitting down let alone relaxing. Every single table was dirty with liquid stains, crumbs and HAIR!!! The floor was worse with actually trash scattered along the floor as though we were outside on the corner of the highway and it was went to be there. Brought my kids for a treat after school and the girl on the donut side had an attitude when I told her we wanted to order both donuts and ice cream. We proceeded to order a donut, then went to choose my ice cream, when I noticed the guy who scooped the ice cream for my daughters friend had plastic gloves on while scooping, the girl came over and began scooping my ice cream with bare hands and a big nasty bandaid on her index finger. I come here during the mornings often and their service is mediocre but today is the third time I get served by Altf and he always manages to fcuk up my order. Being that he doesn't wear an apron like all the other workers I assume he's the shift manager. So that explains the customer service at this location. Okay I just had the strangest experience here. I went in to order and one person was in front of me at the first register. A staff member stepped up to the second register and looked at me, so I went to him to order. He then told me I had to wait for the first register?? But he just continued standing there at the second register doing nothing. Another person came in behind me and was like "are you in line? You can go to him" and I was like he said I couldn't...it was so weird. This guy continued to stare at me. I'm honestly like creeped out it was so weird. I finally ordered with the second employee. Then they put out a food order at the register instead of the pick up place, and the man in front of me was looking for it. I told him it was at the other end, then an employee brought it over and I tried to say oh he was looking for that, but the employee just yells at me "I'm just giving you a straw! Geez!" And was just so rude. I was just shocked. The whole thing was so so weird. I will never come back here. read more
