We found a restaurant not far from the matcha shop. It felt more like a Chinese takeout spot than a traditional sit-down restaurant, so there wasn't much to speak of in terms of decor. We decided to share everything we ordered. The first dish we tried was the Szechuan noodles. The flavor was excellent, but unfortunately, the dish arrived only lukewarm, as it appeared to have been sitting for a while before being brought to the table. Next, we ordered soup dumplings, but the restaurant accidentally brought out pan-seared dumplings instead. Thankfully, they let us keep them while they prepared our original order. The pan-seared dumplings were actually very good--piping hot and full of flavor. When the soup dumplings finally arrived, they were decent but didn't quite live up to the pan-seared version and lacked the same level of flavor. Finally, our Szechuan chicken arrived. It was hot, fresh, and delicious. The chicken was crispy with a great spice profile that delivered the classic Szechuan kick without being overwhelming. It was served with fried rice, which was fine but nothing particularly memorable. Overall, the experience was good but not exceptional. The food had some strong points, especially the Szechuan chicken and pan-seared dumplings, but the restaurant ultimately felt more like a solid Chinese takeout spot than a destination dining experience.

We were greeted quickly at both the door and table. For a dumpling house, there weren't that many options for dumplings. We order two types of dumplings, a noodle dish and an entree on recommendation of the staff. The pork soup dumplings were very soupy on the inside and had a good flavor. The pan fried bao dumplings were alright but morning to write home about; I thought the bun to filling ratio was good for a bao though. For noodles we got the house rice noodles. I typically don't order this but I thought it was really well done with a good ratio of ingredients and flavor. Lastly we ordered the sales egg pork ribs. They were cut to bite size pieces but that's deceptive since they were bone in. Some pieces were all bone and some all meat. While the flavor was good, some might call it dry and the cut made it difficult to eat. While the seasoning for all the dishes were flavorful, I thought the salt was a little heavy. Overall the restaurant was clean with a semi modern decor. The staff were all friendly and tried to be helpful throughout the visit. I'd give it a try if you're in the neighborhood.

Overall, we were impressed with their service and food preparation more than the food itself, all the dishes were good, but no dish stands out to my expectations for a Michelin Bib Gourmand, so the price as well. Here was our experience: Appetizer-Signature Salted Chicken: the skin was crispy; we ordered Steamed Pork Dumplings outside of regular menu, it's so so; main dish - Mapo Tofu W. Minced Pork: taste good, tofu was very soft; Stir-Fried Pork Belly with Green Pepper: pork part was good, pepper was on the raw side, not matching the pork; soup - Tofu and Veggies Duck bone Soup: taste diluted with more water; Desert - Peach Gummies with Tremella: cold and smooth. I feel like to give 3 and half stars, but 4 stars anyway.

We ordered chicken with Shanghai bok choy that was as good or better than any I've had in Chinatown in SF. Super garlicky and that "cooked in a hot wok" Cantonese flavor that I crave. It wasn't greasy, the chicken was white meat, and it was incredibly hot and fresh. The icing on the cake - a great portion and price. We will return anytime we are in the area! Tip for anyone who likes shellfish: buy your lobster or crab from the market (sometimes on excellent sale) and bring it raw and in the bag. They will clean and cook it for you Hong Kong style - it's just $6/lb. We saw a gentleman bring a large bag and then they set up the dining area for a family dinner with a tablecloth and chopsticks and it looked so good!!

The restaurant was super busy and had lots of take out and catering orders as well which was a good sign. Our server told us it was busy and our order may take longer than usual; it was worth the wait! We got fish with black bean sauce first and were pleasantly surprised. The fish dish was filled with fresh peppers and onions with tender white fish in a delicious brown sauce and served with rice. Excellent dish. Our second dish was seafood ho fun (flat rice noodles). This dish was served fresh and piping hot with shrimp, squid, fish, green veggies, and black mushroom along with other ingredients server on top of a bed of broad rice noodles. We were pleasantly surprised at how well prepared this dish was and the amazing wok hei flavor. The menu is extensive and we will definitely be back again!

The waitresses are always very friendly. Oh and if you pay cash, there's a 10% discount. Ambiance of this place has always been excellent! It moved to a new location in the same plaza, with more extravagant decor, extra seating, and space. If you love seafood or Chinese food in general, give this place a try. You will not regret it. I invited my real estate agent over here for dinner once, and she absolutely fell in love with this place. A friend of mine liked this place so much that he came here to eat every day for a month. The staff knows him at this point. Anyway, there's no bad dish here, and I'm a picky eater! Ask for their seasoning on the side, take it to go. You will thank me later.

My favorite dish is probably the eggplant on rice. I'm also a fan of the fried salted egg corn. The egg drop soup is kind of standard fare and so is the fried pork. Enoki mushrooms were a hit but I felt like it was a small portion. My wife was also disappointed in the stir fried udon noddles. My least favorite dish is the shrimp. The shrimp looks pretty but it's just takes too much effort to eat it. The real reason to come here are for the skewers though. The lamb and fatty beef are good. They are not the best skewers but still great. Would I come here again? Yes but only with friends. It's quite a drive but it's in a nice shopping center. My friend says Friendship BBQ is nearby and better though.
