My husband and I love spicy Sichuan food and this has been on our list for a while so glad we finally had time to try this out! Parking/atmosphere: located in a plaza with plenty of parking spots. The inside is pretty spacious with plenty of booth, table, and giant round table seating - perfect for family style! Food/price: the prices of some of the dishes are a bit higher than other Chinese/Sichuan restaurants we typically go to but I think the portions were good so didn't really care that much. Because it was our first time, we over ordered (lol) and everything we got was red which clearly tells you that we like it spicy. Master Zhong's dumplings ($10.99): spicy pork dumplings with minced garlic and a sweet house sauce. Personally I thought that the dumpling wrapping ratio to meat was way too much. They're bite sized and I was searching for the meat with each bite. The sauce wasn't spicy - it's a mix of sweet and savory! Sichuan spicy chicken ($20.99): fried pieces of chicken with red peppers and numbing schezuan peppers. This is one of our favorites whenever we go to a Sichuan place and this place didn't disappoint! Chili boiled tilapia ($28.99): you can get this with either fish or another protein like beef. We opted for tilapia since we had a meat dish already. I'm used to this being less of a watery/soup like consistency but it was pretty nice to have it poured over rice to eat because it was good! The tilapia was okay, I'm not sure if it was the way to it was cut and the pieces used to make this but I think I would have gotten the beef instead. The nappa cabbage in this soaked up all the wonderful spicy flavors and really made this dish great. Mapo tofu ($16.99): came with some ground meat. Saltier than I thought it would be and not super spicy! Overall, I would get the Sichuan spicy chicken and probably opt for the chili boiled beef next time over the fish.

Salt and pepper fish was delicious!

My daughter and I came here hungry for lunch/dinner. One egg drop soup, cumin lamb, and salt and pepper fish later, we were so satisfied! Excellent dishes, kind and attentive service, and an endless playlist of bad cover music. It was fun!!

Veggies served when you are seated. Not much flavor

Went on Saturday night for dinner. Restaurant was busy but not full. We were seated immediately. We ordered soup, a Mapo tofu and eggplant with garlic entrees. Soup came right away, in a few minutes, rice and tofu were on the table, no sight of eggplant. I started to eat my meal, and almost finished and that's when we decided to go ask for the 2nd entree. The lady on the counter who had also seated us rudely said that she was busy. When we asked for the missing food, she checked the order and went to the kitchen and a few minutes later, it arrives. As far as food is concerned, it's top notch. Service is where this place tanks. The rudeness of the woman when we went to ask for food was unnecessary. When the people brought out food - soup, both entrees, they just put it on the table, no words, no smile. No one came to check on us - which is why we had to go to the counter, no one came for me to ask for chilli oil, no one came to refill the water. We had to go get our own take out containers. And I am not sure, but I think the bill contained tip already added - we went to the counter to pay so not sure. So we ended up giving double tip for bad service. If you like this cuisine, do takeout and save yourself from forced tip practice along with barely there service with no smile and a big attitude. Giving it 2 stars for the food..

Such a wonderful experience ~ the older gentleman who greeted us and checked up on us continuously throughout the visit was so sweet, making the trip worth it. Things you should know: I. PARKING Sichuan House is within a plaza and shares a FREE public parking lot with the adjacent businesses. Easy. II. SERVICE Timely, accommodating, and personable. The sole reason I gave this restaurant it's rating. III. QUALITY I've had a fair share of Chinese food from countless experiences with exchange students and close friends. I would rate this as mediocre; however, we only tried a couple dishes here so maybe we didn't get the ideal ones. IV. CAPACITY Fair amount of seating available for dinner hours on a Saturday. We were happy there wasn't a wait and we were seated right away!

Mapo tofu

Came here for dinner with 4 and got seated within 5 minutes on a Saturday night. Our waiter greeted us nicely but service throughout the meal was a little inconsistent. We didn't receive enough tea cups with our order and or spoons when we got mapo tofu. But per request, they brought out spoons. They forgot the extra tea cup. Food came out within 10 to 15 minutes. The zhongs dumplings and dan Dan noodles were enjoyable. We all enjoyed the dumplings which were about 11. The Dan Dan noodles are 7 bucks for a small bowl and good for 2 people to share as a little appetizer. The sauce is at the bottom and needs good mixing. The noodles were chewy and the sauce had this peanut taste to it with the meat. The mapo tofu (20) was pretty good and a little spicy. Great for sharing. We had an odd experience with the crispy grass fish (23). It was not crispy but very cartilaginous. We were all confused and it was not what we expected with the word crispy. The chef later came at the end of the meal to explain how it was cooked. The word crispy wasn't right for it in the way that we think chips are crispy. This is more of a cartilaginous texture even though it's fish. It was not to our liking but the other things we tried were good.

Half Sichuan House Braised Crispy Duck

Great authentic Sichuan food, attested by a friend from Sichuan. I came for the duck special with a few friends and wow, very delicious. I heard it's only offered at special times though; it's a LOT of duck but would definitely recommend getting it. Because there was so much duck, i didn't try too many other dishes. Dan Dan noodles were good, Mongolian beef was good, would love to come back and try some other dishes too. Otherwise service was fantastic, the owner even walks around and waits on customers sometimes and overall a very spacious atmosphere. It's a shame it's so far!

$7 - Small dan dan noodles (more like microscopic)
Clay C.

Very overpriced. And not good. Small dan dan noodles - $7 They weren't small, they were microscopic. It's unbelievable how stingy they were. To put it in perspective, Yummy Garden in the Great Wall Supermarket food court, makes dan dan noodles that are way better tasting (with very creamy sesame flavor and more meat broth flavor), and for $2 more, gives you 5x more. Sichuan Spicy Chicken - $21 Massively overpriced and absolutely terrible. It was like shoe leather. Tasted like it was made two days earlier. We ate a few pieces then threw it away.

Sichuan Spicy Chicken - Hot and Numbing Veggie Lo Mien

The food and service was amazing. Whenever I'm back on that side of town, I'll be visiting. The sichuan chicken was VERY spicy but good ..def my fav but everything else was tasty.

Addictive Food. Mouthwateringly Tasty. Lots of Flavors. MUST TRY Zhoung Dumplings & Dan Dan Noodles ***FOOD: Everything we ordered was so flavorful. MUST TRY Zhoung Dumplings (Mild to Spicy)- these dumplings make my tummy dance. Beef Noodles (Mild-Spicy)-so heavenly good reminds me of being in China; Salt & Pepper Chicken - so delicious, the kind of dish you daydream about when you're super hungry. Dan Dan noodles were so delicious we ordered another bowl. you know it's authentic when there are large Chinese families & older Asian diners eating here. If you can't sit down and eat do take out or Ubereats Grubhub order, we noticed many many orders were being picked up by the above. ***COST (OUT OF 4$): $$ large portions, good and fast. ***DÉCOR: requisite mahogany asian decor ***SERVICE: fast & attentive. older man/ owner? was a little too friendly if I have to be honest but he was entertaining & trying to make a connection with customer ***RECOMMEND: HIGHLY RECOMMEND and would definitely eat here again.

Check

For sure there is discrimination as a Chinese customer compared to local customers. I had a lunch with my friends, party of 3, for $85. The tip is mandatory added to the check but the local customers sit next to us is not. We asked why there's such difference and the waiter trying to ignore us. The food is ok as a Sichuan restaurant but they are already pricy. I mean I will tip what it worth but the way they charge tip mandatory made me uncomfortable.

I ordered 2 dishes to go (Mama's Chicken, and Bamboo + Pork) for my parents and me. I come to pick up the foods at the counter and behold, they give me 2 tiny boxes of white steam rice. No problem, so I asked for extra white rice. The front counter guy said it's an extra $1. I am like sure, he was then no, it's $2 extra. I was like, can you give me a bigger container than the tiny one you got. He said same tiny container. I was like can I just a one big one for $2. He said No, $2 for each tiny container. I was like seriously? I just spent $35 with them and I can't even get enough rice for me and my parents. Never in my years, have I ever had an issue about getting extra rice for any restaurant. This has got to be the cheapest restaurant in the world. I finally told the guy, don't worry about it. I didn't want to pay $4 extra for tiny containers or rice. They lost a long time customer for a such little dollars. Its the principle and they provided horrible customer service. I will not be coming back and I highly suggest in not giving these people any business especially on how cheap they are. I provided a photo of the rice containers that come with each entree. Nothing sucks more than having entrees and not enough rice to eat it with. Their entrees lack portions as their portions have gotten alot smaller as well.

We were a party of 5 and found both the food and the service to be inconsistent. The Food: Most dishes were mediocre or worse. The Three Cups Chicken (1/5) was the worst I've ever had. The Hong Kong Style Shrimp (1/5) was just bland, tasteless fried shrimp. The Lamb with Scallion (2/5) was far too salty. The only "average" dish was the Spicy Beef and Tendon (3/5), but one decent dish can't save a meal this poor. The Service & Billing: The service was quite slow during our visit. We waited a long time for the check and eventually ended up packing our own leftovers and heading to the front counter to pay so we could head out. I was also surprised to see an automatic 20% gratuity added to the bill, especially since it was calculated on the total after tax ($23.07 tip on a $106.80 subtotal). While I understand automatic tips for groups, it felt a bit high due to poor services. There are a lot of great dining spots in the area, but based on this disappointing visit, I'm sure I would not return to this one.

This is a review for their other location which we couldn't find a Yelp for…read more Really nice space for a cozy ambiance yet still felt elevated with the wine glasses of water. It wasn't busy for a Sunday lunch but it's in a very tucked away location on Lakefield Drive. We ordered the beef noodle soup, gravy noodles, potstickers, XLB, and egg tarts. While presentation was great everything fell short except for the XLB and egg tarts. I do like that there is an option for a small portion of noodles - great if you want room to try other dishes. Noodles themselves were nice and chewy but the flavor and thickness of the broths felt like I was eating ramen instead of Chinese or Taiwanese noodle soups. Meats were tender. The gravy noodles had fish, pork, and duck in it and had too many mixes of flavors for us. The potstickers were large but too oily and didn't have much flavor inside. XLB were standard - I thought they were fine but could have used some more soup. Egg tarts were also flaky and good as expected. The waitress said be careful as they were hot from the oven but I couldn't wait since I love dessert. It was cold in the center lol. Otherwise flavor was great. Def have mixed feelings about this spot. Try it for yourself and see what you think.

They even had a manned cash bar that made pretty good drinks at very fair prices! All in all the event was really nice. I was completely impressed.
