My dad calls these types of restaurants "China Default"...because almost without fail it seems every shopping center has a Chinese restaurant you can default to if you didn't have plans for dinner. China Taste filled the bill and ended up being exactly what we needed. The menu was typical. We ordered Mongolian Beef and Sesame Chicken. Had I looked harder, I probably would have ordered off of the combination section because you get a free soup and roll, but the portions are a little smaller on the real meal. The rice was cooked perfectly and both dishes hit the spot. Someone else complained about the amount of onion in the beef, but I thought it was fine. My wife got the egg drop soup on the side and said it tasted as it should. I don't think this place will blow anyone away, but your food is made to order and I was in and out for take out in less than 10 minutes. read more

I ordered boneless barbecue and paid $12 and change for it including $.41 for using my credit card. I got it about 15 minutes later and it was in a hamburger box filled just to level. I took it anyway, too my regret, just to find the boneless barbecue was like eating old meat that was hard and very chewy. I should've went to Golden corral and just paid $16 and had all the fresh steak vegetables and anything else I wanted. There's also an Asian buffet near where I live that's also around $16 and they have softshell crab salmon and everything you can imagine on Asian Buffay. Lesson learned. This is my go to place for chinese food... there food has such a fresh taste every time... this time I ordered vegetable lo mein, sesame chicken, general t'so tofu, & wings. The lo mein is always filled with a nice array of veggies... wings are whole wings & fried with great seasoning (no sauce needed)... my brother ordered the tofu and was very impressed at the texture & flavor... Meh. Just, Meh. It was Hunan Chicken. The veggies were cut larger than bite size. The sauce was brown and may have had some meat flavorings in it. I don't eat beef and pork, so that bothers me. New to the area and since Yelp has never let us down, we tried this place for Chinese delivery. The menu was familiar, so it was easy to order. I used the Yelp app to place the order which was convenient and quick! We ordered wonton, spring rolls, roast pork lo mein, hot & sour soup, and honey chicken. Everything was delicious. The lo mein had huge slabs of pork, not those tiny squares. The honey chicken was crispy. The hot & sour soup was wonderful. It said delivery would be 35-45 minutes but they were here in about 20. Very friendly staff. Good portion sizes. I prefer take out because it is usually kind of warm in there. They gouge you on drinks. So a 12 oz can of coke is 1.00. A 20 oz plastic bottle coke is 1.50. Nice people, decent tasting food and reasonable prices on all but drinks. read more

This place is awful. Placed a carry-oitorder for two meals; the first specifically requested no vegetables - it was all vegetables. My wife called them, they were rude and said that the order was correct- nope. The second order was fried shrimp and fries. The shrimp wasn't fully cooked and all that I could taste on either was the grease. If the place had been busy, maybe it was excusable, but it was 4pm and they were completely empty and no other orders. If I could give no stars, that is what I would give them. I have eaten here twice since our company moved next door, and both times the food has been fresh and excellent. I would advise this as an excellent lunch to anyone that is looking for quick Chinese. I believe I know what girl the previous reveiwer was referring to, and while she's not a bubbly social butterfly type, she's nice to me, anyway. I would say that if you came here lonely and looking for a conversation about the meaning of life, you won't get very far... this is a business, and she's all business. I swung by to get a quick bite for lunch and I was not disappointed. I ordered the shrimp and mixed vegetables with steamed rice and really enjoyed it. The first thing I noticed was the fact that the vegetables were actually fresh. Most chinese restaurants overcook their vegetables, but China Taste actually did it right. This place has horrible food and service. I've tried this place twice and never again. I'm a rice lover, and I love rice with lots of flavor, veggies, the right amount of soy sauce and meat. This place has this knock off yellow rice stuff that very bland and lacks flavors. The soup is also boring, even the chicken is plain. Now the service...the staff is so rude I placed an order online and requested the free item listed on their menu if you spend over a certain amount, when my order arrived I could not find the free donuts and called to ask why. The lady on the phone tells me she provide a copy of the menu where is underlined take out only. When I advised her that I spent more money ordering online with delivery she told me to read menu again take out only. I politely told her that this would be my last time ordering from China Taste. The lady that usually takes the orders wasn't there and a young guy answered the phone - telling me wait then coming back on to take the order. I had my usual Hunan chicken lunch special and it was very bland with just a few pieces of chicken. They definitely fill up the carton with a ton of rice though. We had an extra order of hot and sour soup and it was shockingly tasteless!! There was no flavor. I live next to this place. Whoever said this place is horrible is lying. I've always been treated kindly service has been fast and the food full of flavor. I searched through the neighborhood for chinese places and this one was by far the best. they serve pork friend rice (with caramelized onions) at no additional cost whereas other places just serve you rice fried with eggs and soy sauce. The only reason why i dont give 5 stars is because the Chow mein doesnt come with fried crispy noodle like its supposed to but i guess its more an americanized thing. If you order for the first time, I would suggest trying a small meal and not spending 30+ just to get some donuts. I like this place and I will order from it any time. read more

Great Egg Fu Yung, great Mongolian triple, great chicken and green beans, and the best hot and sour soup in Duluth. Everything is fresh and cooked to order. They even have a new chef with 30 years working in a Chinese restaurant. Family owned and operated. Husband is a very good cook. Price is reasonable and portions are very generous. I'm posted up in my bed sick as hell as I write this review, after eating Mongolian beef on their lunch menu yesterday while at work. Me and a few other coworkers ordered from China Taste yesterday . Immediately after eating it, all of us started feeling ill. For the past 24 hours I've been held up in my bed and numerous trips to the bathroom with diarrhea.
