Went here last night as I was craving some scallion pancakes and crab rangoons. Definitely some of the best rangoons I've had. Overall, some solid greasy Chinese food. I do wish they delivered on Seamless - that is my only request :) read more

Most authentic chinese food in the cambridge area. The xiao long bao's were really good (definitely would recommend the pork + crab ones). It is a tad expensive though, but definitely would recommend stopping by if you're craving the real stuff. read more

Some of the food is tasty. Excellent prizes and service, good value for your money. I would stick to the "dumplings" on the menu and the rice. read more

Really good, average-run-of-the-mill, yet quality Chinese food. Why a 3 star to a 4 star bump (and where they excel) are the speed of delivery (30 mins max) and orders are consistently spot on correct. read more

They give you fake waiting times, when in reality it's going to be 3x-4x that. So they're like "it's gonna be 30-40min" so you wait and then they're like "it's gonna be 30-40 more min" so you wait longer because you've already been there for a while. And after 1h they're like "there are 4-5 tables ahead of you, it's probably gonna be 40 more min, we can't control how fast people eat". So it's all a scam to get you to wait in line for hours when you could have gone somewhere else and not wasted your time. Avoid. read more

Hot and sour soup was some of the best I've had. Watercress with garlic cooked perfect. For dumplings: shangdon pan fried and pork and leek steamed were delicious. Unfortunately I went for soup dumplings, and when they arrived they were dried out like they had been cooked a long time previously and sat, then were reheated before serving. They were not very hot like they usually come scalding from other places, and there was not very much broth inside but the filling was very tasty. The dumpling itself looked very dry on the top and was a little tough to bite into, not soft. read more

I really like the food here. Tried the beef dry pot and northern cold noodles, both were on point! But I gotta say the service was not as compatible with the food. We arrived around 8 pm on a Saturday night, it was so busy, and we felt they were kind of rushed us to eat up and go. The table next to us got their plates removed even before all their dishes came up. It was a chaos. But in the end, I will definitely visit again for their food, just hoping their service can improve a little bit is all. read more

Small place, food is good. I had the wonton with Szechuan sauce and longhorn peppers With beef lunch special.

Ordered from them via postmates. I ordered at 8:30; it said "your order is being prepared" for an hour and 15 minutes before it was ready. I ended up getting my food at 10:00, an hour and a half after I ordered. I ordered hot & sour soup and sesame chicken and they were both disgusting. The soup tasted terrible and the chicken was so gooey that the sauce literally stretched on my plate. Don't give this place your business. read more

I love the soup dumplings! So much! I like how big this place is and relatively easy to get a seat compared with the one downtown. Food is not always consistent-but generally quite good. read more

It's an authentic Chinese restaurant served with good taste food. It is recommended to have meals with 3-4 people and to order 3-4 dished to share in a table. read more

Came here for lunch and shared 3 dishes special with my friends. Everything was finely tuned to perfection. Pleasant surprise. Definitely come back for more. read more

Probably the best authentic Chinese food in Cambridge. We ordered xiao long bao and the Shandong dumplings -- the xiao long bao were thick-skinned though definitely had enough soup in them so I was happy. Beef noodle soup was great, but the green onion pancake we ordered didn't have that light flaky texture I love, and was a little over-fried. But I was just too excited to get my "real" Chinese food fix 'cause I walked out of there overly happy. Reasonable prices, too. read more

Quite nice, especially the scallion pancakes, but not nearly as good as the best places in Chinatown. I particularly recommend the cumin lamb. read more

Very good food. Nice sized portions.

Xiao long bao (pork soup dumplings) was very good (it's what I would recommend) and a lot of the other dishes were very decent. Don't waste money adding crab to the dumplings, you can't tell the difference. Service can be pretty bad, depending on what time you go. Still though, probably the best option for dumplings in Cambridge. read more

have some good dishes hate the ambience; crowded, loud, oily service was about getting things done i would order for take out and eat in at Cilantro - more friendly/less stressful good dishes - and stir fry with bean curd and bamboo shoots that's about it ... read more

No-nonsense service. Probably the best soup dumpling in the Boston area, although I think their downtown location does a better job.

Best Chinese food in Cambridge, if not the entire state. I always make a point to eat there (or at its sister restaurant, Gourmet Dumpling, in Chinatown) when I visit the Boston area. My favorites include the soup dumplings, the scallion pancakes, the pot stickers, and the amazing beef stir fried rice. There are some good fish dishes, and the MaPo tofu is excellent. Unlike Gourmet Dumpling in Chinatown, Dumpling House takes reservations, which is worthwhile at dinner time because there can be a significant wait otherwise. About a 10-15 minute walk from Harvard Square or Central Square T stations. Parking is iffy (it is Cambridge, after all). read more

One of my favorite Chinese restaurants in Boston! The atmosphere is warm and lively with plenty of space to accommodate larger parties. The mini soup dumplings come fresh and hot. The menu features an excellent mix of spicy and non-spicy options for your tastes. read more

Yes, I'm a fan. I know to come early or late. Middle of the day feels intense. Dishes are all very good. Love the egg and tomato, the soup dumplings, the twice-cooked pork, the intestines (which were almost sweet-sour), and the garlic pork. Efficient service every time. read more

I ate here once long ago and thought the food was nice but then visited twice more and I found it underwhelming. I'm sad since I really want to find nice Chinese food and just don't seem to :(. read more

Go with someone you want to eat with and split the salt and pepper tofu and the Szechuan fish with some rice. You'll be very happy.

Very decent Chinese food in the area. Slightly more oily than I would like but that's usually what Chinese eat-out is like.

The dumplings were fantastic. I've had homemade dumplings at my friend's mother house and made with just as good.

The Dumpling House's hot and sour soup is the best I've had. Unlike many a previous experience, the broth was non-gelatinous, not at all greasy, with a balance of flavors, and a level of spiciness that was just right (which, in my opinion, means it was spicy, but not pain inducing - people who likes things very spicy might be disappointed). I also tried the pan fried buns with pork and cabbage and they were excellent and also not greasy. The ingredients in both items appeared fresh and of very good quality. It was a Saturday night and there was a long line to get a table, so I was glad to have ordered take-out, which took only about 15 minutes to be ready from the time I ordered. The prices are a touch higher that other Chinese restaurants, but MORE than worth it because of the quality of ingredients and dishes. I'm looking forward to many a future meal at the Dumpling House! read more

Are you vegetarian? This is NOT the place for you. I ordered the braised tofu with vegetables - and when it came, it was a pile of tofu fried in some meat tasting sauce with two peapods and three carrot shavings. The vegetarian dumplings were hard and flavorless - definitely not fresh. I've been here one other time and had the eggplant. I was equally unimpressed. My husband had the beef noodle soup and he enjoyed it. The pork soup dumplings were just ok - kids refused to eat the meat inside, and they usually devour pork dumplings. Service just ok. This place is nothing special. Won't be back. read more

Dumpling House - Vegetarian dumplings had no flavor. - Noodles Near Me - Cambridge, Massachusetts

Awesome place, great service, tasty food! This is one of the best place for chinese food in Boston area ! Absolutely love it ! The waiters/waitress are super nice and quick. The food usually comes out really fast and tastes great ! Can't find many dishes that I wouldn't want to order again. They make excellent and authentic seafood, beef and veggie dishes. Great place for friends and family get together! We took our colleagues from work (Europeans, Americans, Asians) to the dumpling house and they all loved it ! It does get crowded very quick and you need to wait especially for a big table. It's a fantastic place for food ! read more

Dumplings are obviously great. Service was good although a bit difficult to get the check. However very friendly and joked around with us which was nice. Food was good. Salt and pepper chicken wings were solid! Great taste. The fried rice is not overly greasy which was a pleasant surprise. I'd recommend this place. read more

Excellent, yummy chinese food! Wait outside wasn't too long (15min) considering the length of the line. However, once we sat down there was another 15min or more wait for the food. Next time I think we will order online through Doordash as the dishes are slightly cheaper online and delivery is only $1 to our place!! read more

This is my favorite Chinese food restaurant anywhere in the Boston area. I never tried it until moving to Central. I'm only 10 minutes away now, but I'd take the trip from anywhere now. read more

The only great thing about this place is the convenient location if you live in Cambridge. I've found a few decent dishes to order, like West Lake Soup, Fish Fillet, string beans. They have a fried chicken dish that's actually good. One of their dumplings that's freshly made (might be the first one on the menu) is edible. For the most part the dumplings are too salty and not tasty, avoid especially the soup dumplings, just go to Shanghai Gate or Jojo Taipei for much a better version. read more

Don't expect attentive service and fancy deco, you are in a Chinese restaurant. Don't order American Chinese food cos it's not that kind of place, nor expect 100% authentic Chinese food to its origin, cos it's basically serving all kinds of food from all over the country. It's a semi-modernized/Americanized good Chinese food joint, with large tables and quick service that gets it's job done for what it is. Probably the best Chinese in Cambridge. Fast dine-in or take out. Good for large groups too. I think 4/4.5 stars is more appropriate but it deserves more than 3.5 it has now so giving it all 5. Great noodles (all of them!), good xlb (no it's not authentic, thick skin, but it's good, order the one with crab & pork!), decent Sichuan food (spicy enough), all food is good and prepared fast. Never really had a bad food from here, except somewhat soggy fried rice I took out once. Know what it is, and go for it! read more

Very authentic Chinese food. Although some dishes are not as fresh as I would have hoped.

One of the best Chinese restaurants in Cambridge. The service is generally better if you go with a friend who is Chinese or speaks Chinese. Some of my favorites include Sichuan spicy boiled chicken, their lunch specials, and their soup dumplings. Much better than the Chinese restaurants in Chinatown which tend to be too crowded and greasy. read more

The food there is really good! Also quite cheap! You must try the dumplings there, which taste just as what we have in China. They have large table, but still it is so crowded. read more

This place is delicious. If you like sweet potato the sweet potato with toffee is incredible. Baby bok choi crunchy and divine. And yes, the pan fried dumplings are yummy. Highly recommend Dumpling House! read more

This place was really awesome. Everything was really good. Loved the vegetable rice cake with soup and the soup dumplings. Seems very popular. read more

Institution. Try the rice cakes. Delicious little clouds. Cannot go wrong with lychee sake + rice cakes + sautéed bok choy.

Great food, loved all the 9 dishes we ordered. But having to wait 30 mins even when we made a reservation is ridiculous. The waitress/manager was unapologetic either, kept saying "table will be ready soon" and "a couple more minutes" - that couple more minutes was 15 minutes ago. read more
