This past weekend I saw a free delivery special from Door Dash so decided to give this place a shot. I had just tried Boston Soup Dumpling and wanted to see how the two compared. I was shocked by the price for the soup dumplings...until they arrived. $12 is great until you realize they're bite size. I'm also not sure if it was because I got them delivered, but they were rlly lacking soup. They were frankly a bit dry. The entire order didn't come with any sauces either so I had to use what I had at home. The chili pork dumplings made up for the soup ones. Super solid. They have their dough down to a science. Some of the best I've had. I am not sure I'd order from here again, gonna stick with Boston Soup Dumpling for time being! read more

in my opinion this is a great spot for sichuan food (i am surprised by the negative reviews). BOS has a minimalist aesthetic and a large menu of options. We got the wontons, dan dan noodles, and i believe a sezchuan pork noodle dish. The wontons were fantastic, the pork was so well seasoned, the casing was soft, and the sezchuan was delicious and the perfect amount of spicy. I wasn't sure abotu the dan dan based on appearance being just the meat and noodles but the meat was seasoned very well, so it was super flavorful. The noodles were bouncy, and the sauce gave you the classic numb! The last noodle dish we got was good, not super memorable. Service was fast! read more

Food looks good however I ordered takeout and was told to come back 20/30 minutes after order was deemed ready. I came back to receive my order at the mentioned time only for them to tell me they can no longer make my food and there is no way to cancel. Instead of aiding cancellation or remedying the situation, they offered to make me a lower valued meal than ordered, which took another 20 minutes! For a weekend dinner, I decided to get Sichuan food with a friend as BOS SIchuan Taste. The establishment was half full, so I received a table immediately. My friend and I ordered to share the 小椒牛肉絲 / Pepper Beef ($22.99), 虎皮青椒 / Sauteed Whole Spicy Green Pepper ($16.99), and 冒菜 / Instant Boiled Spicy Hot Pot ($24.99). The Pepper Beef arrived first, after 5 minutes. While tender, I wish it came out hotter. Considering how fast it arrived, it may have been another table's or a cancelled order redirected. The Sauteed Whole Spicy Green Pepper arrived 5 minutes after the Pepper Beef. It was piping hot, well-seasoned (salty with a touch of vinegar) and a decent blistering. The last item, the Instant Boiled Spicy Hot Pot, took another 20 minutes to arrive after the Sauteed Whole Spicy Green Pepper. This dish, essentially a spicy stew with misc. vegetables and meats, arrived less hot than desired. My bowl of rice had already cooled down. I suspect that the dish had sat in the kitchen for a while while the one overtaxed waitress had to do everything from plating to cleaning to ringing up tables. Overall, the food tasted ok, but seemed overpriced given the portion sizes. That, along with the inconsistent times for dishes to plate, make Bos Sichuan Taste not worth dealing with, especially since 一麻一辣 / Mala Restaurant is one block away. read more

I went to this restaurant with three friends (party of four). The food was okay but nothing special, so I would've normally given it an average rating. However, the tipping situation completely ruined the experience. At checkout, my boyfriend selected 15% tip on the payment machine. After that, the manager came over and insisted that "for a table of four, the minimum tip is 18%," and pressured us to increase it to 18%. I did not see any clear notice on the menu or in the restaurant saying that parties of four are automatically charged an 18% gratuity. If the manager hadn't chased us down, we would have had no idea about this "rule." This felt very non-transparent and uncomfortable, and it left a really bad impression. If you care about honest and clear pricing, double-check your bill and the tip section carefully here. For us, this experience was enough to decide we won't be coming back. read more

we tried this restaurant for the first time recently. We were so happy with the service and the food we got the sweet duck, which was delicious the shrimp, lo mein soup, dumplings, other dumplings and ribs. The service was fantastic and they even told us they thought we might be ordering too much food so we deleted a few things, and then we paid the bill. They had not given us the credit for the deleted items and chase us down to give us $18 that would've been paying for food. The sweet duck was delicious and a half portion was more than enough. The shrimp lomein and the soup dumplings were very tasty. And the other dumplings I just forget what they were were delicious as well so happy to have tried this place and will be coming back. read more

I ordered from this restaurant via uber eats last night, using $27 of uber one credits I had been saving up so we could get food on Valentine's Day. It also cost me $48 out of my own pocket. For that, we got an order of rice cakes drizzled in a mystery brown liquid that were so gummy it took minutes to chew one bite. But the real offenses were the main dishes. We got 2 orders of Dan Dan noodles and a beef noodle. Both dishes were so incredibly salty that it hurt my mouth to even eat 2 bites. No flavor other than spice and pure salt. I like my food with a lot of salt usually but this was insane like they spilled the salt container or they were putting it in by the tablespoon full. Of course uber no longer gives refunds for food orders that don't go well, despite me paying for uber one every month for years. So now I'm stuck with like $80 worth of inedible food that I wouldn't even be comfortable giving away to someone else because it is so overly salted I can't imagine anyone liking it. We took a risk by ordering from a new restaurant instead of just getting our favorite places food but we will probably not do that again because this was a horrible experience. Uber won't refund me any of my money so I will have to perform a charge back on my credit card once it posts. But I won't get that $27 of uber one credits back. It took like 3 months to earn that. One food order all of it down the drain. Please don't order from here unless you really like overly salted food. You'll be disappointed when you can't even eat more than 1-2 bites of the $20 dish you ordered. read more

Wow, i was definitely blown away by the spicy lamb here! I'm not really a lamb person but they made it really well! This is what I'll be coming back for. In terms of other food, it's pretty typical Sichuan fare here. The mapo tofu is not the best that I've ever had, but definitely hits the spot. Same with the other big Sichuan staples like the spicy fried chicken cubes and the green beans. The ordering system here is pretty unique as you scan a QR code and you order on Chowbus. It made things pretty easy to order and get. Don't expect too much from the waiters here as, especially at Chinese restaurants, checking in on you it's not some thing that they usually do. So if you need their attention for anything, just holler out and someone will come! read more

Amazing! I have been eating Sichuan food all my life and all over the world. This place is special. The owner is this nice young man from Changdu, very enthusiastic about the food. He even gave up some free samples of what he ate with the chefs for dinner. What a guy. So I ordered from the menu in Chineses, I will describe the dishes best I can. The first dish is spicy cold glass noodles (涼粉）it is my wife's all time favorite. They make it here with a touch of vinegar, peppercorn, and pickled red chili, she absolutely loved it. The second dish was salt and pepper squid, very nice light batter, also very well done. Then the sautéed cabbage in pork fat, a currently trendy dish. My wife was blown away and cannot stop eating it. Then the classic hot pepper chicken Chong Qing style, it has such a crunch, extremely well seasoned. The last dish the owner brought out with pride, fresh fish with tofu in hot oil. The fish melt in your mouth. The tofu absorbed the flavor of fish and all the spices. This is the dish the chef used to make for us as a treat when I was working in a sichuan restaurant. Very well done. Overall a great experience. I cannot recommend this place enough. read more

I've been on the search for the perfect spicy dumplings and I finally found them here. Imagine this: It's a cold 20 F day and you decided to go on a 5 hour walk. A craving begins to grow as the sun sets and your toes and hands are beginning to feel cold even inside of the winter gear you have on. Something warm, spicy, and flavorful would be perfect. You order the Chili Spice dumplings from BOS sichuan Taste and feel its warmth as you pick it up to walk home (I should have eaten at the restaurant - so much anticipation!). The first bite is the taste of the savory meat, and then the flavorful chili sauce begins to simmer, warming you up from the inside. The chili sauce here is not overwhelming or mindlessly numbing, it is a perfect balance that gives hints of the chilis used and dreams of numbing you. The leftover sauce is perfect for pouring over rice to give it an extra warm kick after. I really should have ordered more than one thing, but the one thing I ordered was one of the best winter dishes I've had in Boston yet. If you like sichuan food, this place is amazing. This new Sichuan restaurant is an interesting mixed bag. Atmosphere is at fast food level, no liquor license, not cheap, but the taste was the most authentic we had around Boston in many years. Double cooked pork, cumin flavored beef, bamboo shoots, and Dan Dan Mien. Especially the Dan Dan Mien stood out as it was not so oily and made with the unique pickled vegetables (I don't know what they are, but I remember the taste from Chengdu) as well as a heavy load of very fresh numbing Sichuan pepper corn. Really love this restaurant! First we thought that it was just another restaurant offering spicy food and called itself Sichuan cuisine. Actually most of their dishes are mala not hot spicy, which is truly representing Sichuan cuisine. We selected Sichuan spicy rice noodle (excellent), chili chicken (good), eggplant with minced pork (excellent), intimate beef brisket claypot (excellent), shredded potato home style (excellent), and wok tossed pig kidney (excellent). We ordered 24 hours ahead for a dinner gathering tonight because we all needed to eat at six and got three phone calls during the day about things that they were out of so we said fine we made substitutions they said it would be fine and then they called me like three times during the day including driving during rush-hour traffic asking me to come pick up the order instead of getting it delivered or go online to GrubHub and place a new order- So at the end of the day they ended up delivering rice and one entree noodles to my friends house and they canceled the rest of the dinner-we tried to call and give them a credit card to place a new order and the person on the phone hung up on my friend then wouldn't answer the phone-so basically we had rice and one noodle dish the rice was actually pretty good the noodle dish was ordered medium and it was super spicy-was mostly just a hassle of dealing with this place was really stressful when you're trying to place an order ahead so you won't have to deal with something like this. I appreciated that the woman was having a hard time but like to pull over on a highway to give her credit card was kind of hard so I told her my friend would call her and he tried calling and they wouldn't even answer the phone-so we just ate one entrée of noodles rice and then leftover food at his house. Food is ordered on the phone with a QR code at the table, which was really convenient. Everything we got there was delicious and my only complaint was that the calamari/squid was a little hard for some reason. Otherwise, they've got the Sichuan taste perfectly in their dishes and we weren't disappointed with any of our dishes. The ordering is automated through your phone (i.e. no paper menu) and the menu is pretty extensive. We ordered quit a bit for two people, and everything was excellent. The spicy wonton was great. The dan dan noodle was not what I am used to but it is excellent. The fried dumpling was a bit disappointing (it was literally deep fried). The steamed veg buns was piping hot and delicious. The dry fried chicken is the best I have had anywhere. The cabbage, and pork with bamboo shoots were all very tasty. The service was also very attentive and helpful. Some of the best, most authentic Sichuan food I've had in America. My family is from Sichuan and we were all raving about this place. They're a relatively new restaurant. I'm leaving a review because I want to make sure they stay in business so I can keep eating here. We got the boiled beef, roasted fish, cold noodles, chili oil chicken, pepper frog, and sweet duck.
