Reliably amazing food. Best Mapo Tofu, and I search for better when I travel. Haven't found any that do it better. Dumplings are amazing. Salt and pepper shrimp or sweet and sour shrimp are great. Shanghai style udon noodles a go-to noodle dish. Love it all here! read more

This is one of my go to Chinese places around town mainly because of the proximity but I also keep coming for the food. I love the garlic sautéed bean sprouts and the twice cooked pork but you can't really go wrong here! I've been here dozens of times and it doesn't disappoint. read more

I got dumplings and they were so good. The food came fast with a good size servings. Place is very clean and the waiters are nice and work fast. Cute little place to eat with really good food. read more

Food wasn't all that they show this lovely picture it looks nothing like and taste nothing like it I'll give it a 2 out of 5!

I confess, I am a dumpling lover! This place is cool, easy. Food is very nice BUT PRICES... AAAARGH!!! read more

Some of the best food I've ever had! My go-tos are the crispy chicken with basil , pea pods with garlic, ma po tofu, pork and leek dumplings and the beef and celery dumplings. Everything is INCREDIBLE. Do your taste buds a favor and get food from here. read more

I'm so glad they have takeaway during Covid! I get their soup dumplings every other week, I absolutely love them! I've also ordered their crispy crab rangoon, delicious pork and cabbage pan-fried buns, and tasty general gau's chicken. Yum, yum, yum! A totally winner in my books, though the parking nightmare that is Route 2 takes a star off. read more

Food that reminds me of home. Wonderful fluffy scallion pancakes, xiao long bao, pickled green with fish (酸菜魚), salt and pepper tofu, sweet and sour fish fillet, and watercress. This place is quite large, so the seating time is minimal. It is on the pricier side for Chinese food though. read more

Three words: XIAO LONG BAO! The soup dumplings are amazing. No need to order anything else. Be sure to let them cool before popping one in your mouth. So good. Love them. read more

OMG THIS PLACE IS HEAVEN MY friends and I go here once a week and are totally in love. We get the soupl dumplings which are amazing. They're almost as good as Joe's Shanghai in NYC, which is saying a lot. Pretty much everything here is good, you can't go wrong. We try to order something different in addition to the dumplings each time we go. The 3 cups chicken is really good, as is pretty much all of the fried noodles. We even order extra so we can have leftovers for lunch the next day Seriously, one of the best restaurants in the Cambridge area read more

Excellent (Ok, for Boston) xiaolongbao Ma po tofu also really solid Tried the Shanghai udon noodles: yummy In appearance / service it is your basic neighborhood Chinese place but the level of food so far has been high read more

Walking around Harvard Sq in Cambridge on a hot, sunny summer day, and hunger struck. As it happens I have a hankering for some simple meal and saw this place; took a look inside and noticed the Asian diners outnumber the non-asians... to paraphrase my hero, Anthony Bourdain, if an Asian food joint has more Asian patrons, it's generally gonna be good." Anyway, needed a light meal so ordered the dumpling noodle (soup) dish - am pleasantly surprised they include black fungus (rare in most Chinatown places in Beantown since most "gaijins" shun it). Other components - 5pieces of dumplings, chopped cilantro, pickled vegetables, and lo mein - all swimming in a clear noodle broth (of course). Of course, there is the famous xiao loong bao, but I reserve that review to other patrons who played it safe by ordering this staple. All said, had a satisfying meal and hunger averted. Service is better than Wong Kei of London - if you have ever been to this joint in the capital of Old Blighty, you will know what I am talking about. read more

Dumpling House - Dumpling with noodles (in broth) - Noodles Near Me - Cambridge, Massachusetts

In my opinion this place is the best Chinese food in the Harvard square area. Hands down. It's a staple of my take-out cycle and the food is consistently good. They do the house special Sichuan style fish and beef really well - the spice is on point and the taste is super authentic. Pork dumplings with cabbage or leek are also a must-have; depending on my mood, I'll also opt for their soup dumplings with pork. The braised eggplant with basil is a solid vegetable dish along the same theme as the spicy Sichuan food I mentioned above. I have mixed feelings about the lamb with cumin - I've had better at other Sichuan-style restaurants and Dumpling House's version is too crispy to make the dish taste like anything. But if you're looking for Chinese food, skip the Kong, Yenching, Zoe's, Cilantro - there's a reason why Dumpling House has lines out the door any night of the week. This is where the Chinese people go to eat, so you know it's good. read more

Salt n pepper lobster was not on point at all. Who ever the chef is needs to be more attentive to cheffing up twin lobsters which should be equal in size not one way bigger than the other..step your game up or continue to have unpleased customers. read more

I have no idea how the food tastes but am frustrated by the wait time. I called in my order and was told 10 to 15 minutes. I had to wait for over 35 minutes. I would not have ordered if they told me the accurate wait time. read more

Food is okay if you choose wisely. Taste is DOW dependent - best if you go, say, Friday night as the food tend to be more careful prepared. I lived in the nbd so have been a regular. Not a huge fan but the experience was above average for a little over a three years course. read more

We moved to Cambridge a couple of months ago, and Dumpling House has been AWESOME half a dozen times. Overall, it's as authentic as any Chinatown restaurant, but with much more attention to the quality of ingredients. Mini soup dumplings are the best I've had east of San Francisco. Chicken dumplings with cabbage are also excellent, flat noodles with beef are clearly made from scratch on site. The noodles and several other dishes are addictively good, and the staff have been super helpful with recommendations. This last point is very important at any authentic Chinese restaurant--too many order the same familiar dishes whether we are at an Americanized Chinese place or a Chinese Chinese place (if that's the right way to phrase it). We love it here! read more

This place was very underwhelming for me. I was visiting Boston for Memorial Day weekend. I figured since dumping was in the name, to try the dumplings. I had the soup dumplings, the spinach dumplings and seafood dumplings with a few cold dishes to pair. The good: sautéed potatoes, good level of spice and acidity and fairly well executed. The okay: seafood dumplings tasted decent nothing special but nothing to really complain. The Ehh: the soup dumplings had no soup and the meat does not taste fresh. A few of the cold dishes tasted okay but drenched in hot oil to a point where it's a bit unpleasant. The bad: The spinach dumplings had a very strange taste and after taste that's like wet paint and cardboard. Overall for a place called "dumpling house" I expected more from the dumplings. read more

Had the spicy basil eggplant which was amazing! I felt like I was back in China. Also had the pork and shrimp Shandong style dumplings which were so good! Highly recommend! read more

Ordered from door dash. The dumplings are disgusting. It tastes like mashed together mystery meet. And there was even a bone in the one I ate. Not what I expected - frozen dumplings are better than this... read more

The food is great as always! I would strongly recommend their dumplings, especially any with pork. I was, however, a bit disappointed by the 水煮鱼... the flavors were pretty good, but the fish didn't taste like or have the texture of fish. The staff are efficient and professional, which is impressive given how busy their restaurant gets. Also note that you get a discount if you pay with cash. read more

Too sweetly. Nearly every dish added lot of sugar and soy sauce. Typically Cantonese taste. Though the name is Dumplings house, the dumplings are not very good. read more

Look, don't come here for great service or atmosphere. Come here for FANTASTIC food. Their dumplings are great, it's true. But when I go here I obsessively order the steamed fish with ginger and scallions. I can't get enough of it. I dream about it. I will literally travel for over an hour to get it. read more

Stopped in for dinner last night as some friends and I were in the neighborhood and have heard good things. This is good chinese food. Anyone looking for the standard slop might be disappointed in the variations on those dishes here (e.g. General Gau's, etc). If you're looking for Sichuan chicken and fish however, welcome to a delicious meal and a sweaty brow! It's hard to find real Sichuan dishes in Boston using the real peppercorn, and Gourmet Dump House has it. And of course the dumplings are the highlight, especially the soup dumplings. Only downside is they are still waiting for their liquor license, so you won't be able to cool down with a beer! read more

I was disappointed. The food was very greasy and not really flavourful, even the soup dumplings were only OK, maybe I like Americanized Chiense food and this is authentic. However the staff and service were below par by any standards. There was a big line when I left - maybe its me. read more

I came all the way from NYC and my friend took me here ! It's wonderful. Best Chinese restaurant in Boston. I ordered spicy fish, lobster, fish dumplings, Nanjing duck and etc. All are perfect. The bosses used to be professional chefs. The environment is nice too. read more

Dumpling House - Noodles Near Me - Cambridge, Massachusetts

Pretty disappointed with Dumpling House. The only redeeming factor were the Xiao Long Bao. What I ordered: Ma Po Tofu: Not bad, but I've definitely had better at other restaurants. It was spicy but I think it was a little too starchy. Also, this dish doesn't have any meat, which was disappointing. Three Cup Chicken: Don't get this. Chicken was dry and the sauce was not very good. Hot and Sour Soup: One of the worst I've had because it didn't have much flavor to it and was not very spicy. XLB: If you're going to go to Dumpling House, just get the XLB. They were surprisingly good and they are the only reason I'm not giving Dumpling House a 1- or 2-star review. read more

I ordered chicken & cabbage, beef & celer, spinach veggie dumplings. On top we got Chinese hamburger and pancakes. All of the dishes were okay but there was nothing impressive in them. So it is okay to order from time to time but there was nothing impressive about them. read more

Yummy food! Good atmosphere! Quick service. Delicious offerings. A bit oily but what Chinese food isn't? Great location.

Authentic Chinese cuisine. Every single dish is good here and so flavorful. If your'e only going to get one thing on the menu, get the soup dumplings! Other favorites are scallion pancakes, fried rice, Singapore curry noodles, beef and tomato with scrambled eggs over rice, and the list goes on and on... read more

Delicious!!! Walk inside and the smell is all you'll need to be convinced of the quality. The dumplings we had were freaking delicious and the waitstaff were attentive, efficient, and polite. My fiance and I ate like kings for an extremely reasonable final bill even including the big soup I ordered to go for lunch tomorrow. If I had my druthers I'd eat here minimum five times a week. We had soup dumplings (ugh so good), the beef and celery (nom nom), and the chicken and cabbage (YUM), and I fully intend to work my way through the menu. Just reliving this meal is making my mouth water! read more

incredible dumplings. i highly recommend the chicken and cabbage ones - they are lightly fried to perfection and the dipping sauce is INCREDIBLE. read more

Dumpling House - A40. Chicken and Cabbage Dumplings, A30. Mini Soup Dumplings with Pork - Noodles Near Me - Cambridge, Massachusetts

This is easily my favorite authentic Chinese restaurant in the area. I get take out from here several times a month and the quality is consistently excellent. Favorites include the Twice Cooked Pork, Szechuan Dried Spicy Chicken (F4), Mini Soup Dumplings with Pork and the Sliced Fish Szechuan Style. read more

Was impressed to be seated very fast on a busy Friday night. A more "authentic" place than your usual neighborhood Chinese take out places. We got fried pork intestine (that's right!) which was delicious. Lobster with scallion was alright but have had better in the Boston area. Despite mentioning dumplings in the name of the restaurants, they were not all that good. Too much dough, not enough contents. The sesame chicken was also mediocre. Somewhat high price tag which is expected when dinning in Harvard/Cambridge area. Might eat there again, but not going to go out of our way for it. read more

This is by far my favorite Chinese restaurant in Boston! I have tried so many of them and this one is just outstanding! I had chicken and broccoli and it was cooked perfectly! Everything looked gorgeous and tasted awesome. Other than the loud voices of the waiters and waitresses I couldn't be more happy with what I had! I can't believe how amazing it was! My friend had dumpling which we're obviously the best I have ever had! read more

Love this place! Food and service are excellent! Recommend the pork soup dumplings, the sesame chicken, the flat noodles, and the eggplant.

The twice cooked pork, the lamb wok, and the tomatoes w/ egg are delicious. So so delicious. I will definitely be back. Just wish they deliver. read more

Had some good food here. Noodles (dan-style and thin), soup dumplings, fresh veggies, sweet fried chicken, and somewhat spicy soup. It all tasted good and the price was fine. Very busy. read more

Went there tonight: Mediocre dumplings. Food over priced. Better dumplings in other Cambridge/Boston restaurants. Food: 1 - Dirty dishes. My tea cup had a 1.5" piece of dried food stuck on the inside. I asked to swap for a clean cup. The waitress with the attitude swapped it with one on a nearby table, scrapped off the piece of food with her finger, and placed the dirty cup back on the table for the next patron. Hygiene aside, poor quality meat, load of corn starch sauce on a vegetables dish (what??!), and two bugs to keep us company. Service: -1. Absolutely the worst. They rush your order. When they serve your food, they elbow your plate out of the way and then throw the plate down. We had a waitress with an attitude. The waiter was a marginally nicer. Waiter Service -- they charge you for it but it doesn't really exists. I'd just skip this place all together. read more

Good place to get together with friends, but don't go here if you're looking for quality Chinese food. The vegetable dishes here are great but the meat dishes are very off and taste a bit artificial. Do not order the bean sauce pork! The server gave it to us by accident instead of sweet and sour pork and we were wondering what it was. It was extremely salty and looked a lil sketch. Service was okay. read more
