Good soup dumplings! The skin was thin, and it had a loose pork filling. The place was packed, and obviously popular. It as ~$8 for 7 xiao long bao. read more

Ordered delivery, crab rangoons and spinach dumpling. These were very over-fried, and not really edible - the oil itself tasted stale. Very disappointed as have heard great reviews. read more

I Just visited my friends in Cambridge today. While we walked forward Harvard then found out this Chinese restaurant. We decided to try it. I was so surprised their scallion pancakes and dumplings which were hand made told by their service especially when you have them with the dipping sauce. The service was great btw. read more

Dumpling House - Noodles Near Me - Cambridge, Massachusetts

I live literally across the street, so I'm here a couple times a week. Because there are so many tables, there is never a wait, and the English and Mandarin speaking staff is pretty friendly. The dumplings however are thick skinned and overall not very good. I've had several types of their dumplings, and this applies to all of them. Gourmet Dumpling House in Chinatown is MUCH better. Their stir fried dishes are also very oily, even if you ask for less oil. Lastly, they close at 10pm, so this is not the place for late night takeout! read more

Dumpling House - A hard unspecified object found in our fried noodles - Noodles Near Me - Cambridge, Massachusetts

Excellent food and experience. Large dining room with great service and atmosphere. For 2 of us we had soup dumplings, fish and tofu, mixed vegetables, and cold rice noodles with peanuts and sesame for an appetizer. Everything was nothing short of 10 stars!! read more

Having been here close to 20 times over the years, it is hard to describe how I feel about this place. Comparing to the past, these days the portion size of the dishes is smaller, and smaller than the nearby Sichuan places too. The taste is still good overall, but in some occasions has become dull. So I find myself going to the other two Sichuan places nearby more and more recently. read more

Some of the best soup dumplings in the Boston area. Their other dishes are also quite good. The best dumplings seem to be during off hours, like mid-afternoon on a weekday. The one time that we went at dinner time on a weekend, they weren't quite as good. read more

Picture a cumulus cloud, fill it with spinach and eggs, then flip the cloud into a pan and fry on one side. Pinch the delicate chewy top with your chopsticks and dip it into soy sauce, then chili oil. Lower the dumpling into your mouth. The pan fried dumplings are as good as people say; I didn't even know a chewy texture that good existed. I also ordered the Taiwan-style tofu - the waiter told me it sucked, but I waded in anyway (he said he doesn't like fried tofu so I figured it was a preference thing). What a hateful error! That shit was terrible - I have so many regrets. As I was working through the dish, trying and failing to pretend like I wasn't devastated, I started taking shots of the superb lychee sake, trying to forget my predicament. Before I could forget, I found a little piece of chicken in my tofu dish! I am a vegetarian, and immediately saw the promise of this lil chicken bit becoming the star of the show! With one piece of tofu left, I called the waiter over and gestured at the bird. He poked it with chopsticks, as my friend had, realizing it was indeed flesh. Then his boss came, she too doubted us, poked the bit, and confirmed that it was as bad as they feared, and as good as I hoped, they replaced the dish with the dumplings I should have ordered all along! The chicken stole the day, and I learned my lesson. Order dumplings at dumpling house, and you'll give a five star yelp review. If you order the Taiwan-style tofu, you won't come back unless a delicate little flightless bird slips in. read more

How this restaurant have 3.5 stars? I do not get this. To me this should be at least a 4.5 stars restaurant. The restaurant is clean, the service is good and the food is super. I live in a different state, otherwise, I will go to this every date One bad this about this restaurant is parking. It is kind of hard to find the one in the street since there are not a lot available. Table is kind of small, you will ran out of table space very fast if you order 5 or more dishes read more

I've never come here with a group smaller than 8 people, so I've always made reservations. They do a pretty good job of getting your party seated at your reservation time and there's always a line so if you can, make a reservation or come on the earlier end. Decent service (by Chinese restaurant standards so I guess not great by any other restaurant standards...it's all part of the authentic experience) and solid, authentic food. I love the soup dumplings (as others have noted, the skin can be a bit thick, but it's still juicy and delicious)! The string beans, eggplant, and all the vegetables are delicious, albeit a tad oily (like most Chinese restaurants). Great proteins too, including not too spicy mapo tofu and fantastic spicy fish. Whatever Chinese food you're craving, they'll probably have on their very extensive menu. Great way to get that Chinese food kick in at good prices. It's really the only strong option around Harvard Square. Will definitely keep coming back! read more

Fantastic dumplings! So sad their chinatown location closed but very happy they're still here

Excellent soup dumplings, usually a mega-wait for a table at the weekend, however worth it. When this place gets super busy it's also a mega wait to be served so don't come super hungry like we did. If you can fight through the 300 Harvard students and keep your eye on the prize with patience then it's a great spot. read more

My friends and I decided to go out to dinner on a Saturday night and randomly chose this place and it was so awesome! It's very busy (I'm assuming bc it's a popular place to go) but we got on the wait list and it was worth it. The service is wicked fast and the food was great! And the low prices are fabulous. read more

Got to visit the famous Dumpling House in Cambridge. My friend and I first signed up for a spot in line to be seated. We waited for about 30 minutes. We were then seated and the service was really quick and nice. Food and prices were good. The atmosphere inside was okay, everyone was talking loud so you would need to talk even louder. But it is a nice place to take someone on a date or family dinner. read more

Delicious dumplings, cant wait to come back and try their other items! We got the pork and leek dumpling and they were great, maybe a little heaving on the dumpling wrapper, but the filling was great, as was the soy ginger dipping sauce. read more

Dumpling House - Pork and leek! - Noodles Near Me - Cambridge, Massachusetts

This place is a solid 4 stars. We came here on a Saturday afternoon and had no problem getting a table for five. We got the spicy salt and pepper tofu, soup dumplings, cumin lamb, wok fried chicken, sliced fish Sichuan style and the basil eggplant. We liked everything except the cumin lamb (which was like lamb schnitzel with a bunch of chilli peppers thrown in). The wok chicken , spicy salt and pepper tofu and the sliced fish are some of the best dishes here. Overall, after much trial error this set of dishes (minus the cumin lamb) is probably the most delicious meal I've had here. We did ask for everything to be made extra spicy. We should perhaps have asked more emphatically because nothing was really super spicy but still very good. Also, I would say the cumin lamb, 3 cup chicken (too sweet) and the okra dishes (gooey) are a hard pass here. Overall this place has friendly service, very reasonable prices. The food does tend to be on the greasier side (relative to Shanghai fresh for example) but still good if you order the right things. This place is also better for eating in than take out (their takeout food is somehow greasier and not as flavorful) read more

Food: 2 - poor quality meat, overly greasy, lacking flavor and spicing. Quantity is great, but generally underwhelming. Service: 1 - felt incredibly rushed from the moment we walked in, didn't see our waitress a single time after our order, took a long time to get the check. Overall: if you're CRAVING dumplings, this is adequate, but generally would avoid. read more

We got the soup dumplings, fried pork cabbage dumplings, sauteed rice cake with pork, and a spicy chicken dish. I really really liked the rice cake with pork! That one was my favorite. The soup dumplings were also very good. Service was good and the food came out quickly. Came on a Monday night and it was pretty busy but not full. I would def like to come back and try more spicy dishes next time, and get more soup dumplings. read more

We literally order takeout from dumpling house every week - their ma po tofu and sautéed chicken with Szechuan sauce are the go-to dishes!

No frills authentic Chinese food with actually decent service (that's rare in Chinatown)! You will probably see a line out the door, especially around din time, but the restaurant is big so you probably won't have to wait that long. And shockingly, this is one of the most group-friendly places in all of Boston. However, don't think you can take your time eating, they really try to get you in and out (full). Crazy huge menu, they have Szechuan dishes, amazing dumplings of all types, Wok fried noodle dishes, seafood, meat and noodle entrees, on top of tons of appetizers. Among the billions of options, you must get some sort of dumpling dish, and the wonton! These was so fresh and flavorful! The dumplings, in particular, are the highlight, I mean, this is the Dumpling House after all. Parking may be tough since this is on the ever so busy Mass Ave, but you can probably find something on an off street. read more

I love this place! Great staff, portions are generous. Price could be lower for chinese food, but not complaining since it's one of the best I can find around the area. Food always tastes fresh and I love the hot and sour soup here read more

The fact that this place can even be called Chinese food is shameful. My friend was visiting and we decided to try out this place since it was close by and pretty cheap. Should have checked Yelp before hand because our food was straight up bad. We had no issues with the service or getting seated and I had passed by numerous times and seen this place packed. What a disappointment. My friend and I ordered steamed mushroom buns, wonton noodle soup and stir fried rice noodles with veggies. The buns were good, but unexciting, likely could have purchased them frozen at a grocery store. The wonton noodle soup was not up to snuff for me. Firstly the soup was essentially water and more importantly the noodles were all sorts of wrong. There's a type of noodle called wonton noodle and what we got here tasted like the stuff that's often labelled lo mein. The stir fried rice noodles were thin rice noodles and had something super off about them. I wasn't able to get tofu with it, but the waiter didn't let me know until the food had already arrived. If I had known that I wasn't going to get tofu with my noodles I would have ordered something different! Maybe the dumplings are okay, but all the items I tried made we want to have gone home and microwaved a frozen meal instead. read more

I've been here twice when visiting friends in Cambridge and I can honestly say that I am very satisfied with the pork soup dumplings. I have had authentic xiao long bao in Shanghai and while nothing can measure up to the real deal, these soup dumplings are incredibly tasty as well as affordable. I have not tried other items on the menu, so I cannot speak to them. I will be coming back here again when I'm in the area and craving soup dumplings! read more

Dumpling House - pork soup dumplings (8) As you can see I couldn't wait and ate a few of them before I remembered to take a pic! - Noodles Near Me - Cambridge, Massachusetts

Tasty food with generous portions make for a great outing if you don't mind being cozy with others at the table. What I ordered: Soup dumplings with pork Shredded pork yee mein noodles Black Pepper Beef ===What I Loved== -The soup in the soup dumplings had more of a beef broth flavor rather than the umami flavor of Din Tai's Xiao Long Bao dumplings. - The portions here are very good for the price. Our $50 meal would have been $80 in a similar dumpling house in LA or NY. - I enjoyed the food, but the flavor of the black pepper beef and noodles can be a bit neutral for some. ===What I hated=== The parking situation in this area on a weekday afternoon is rough. This place is packed and it can feel a bit claustrophobic. Communal tables mean you may be a little close to your neighbor. Not a great situation for introverts lol. read more

Yeah....this place is great. From the dumplings to the entrees, everything I've had here has been top notch. I had the seafood dumplings on a recent visit, followed by the pork and shrimp soup dumplings (how do they get soup inside dumplings?!) which were both fabulous. They have a huge menu here, one could try a different dish every time and have years' worth of visits to look forward to. But my fave was the dry spicy Szechuan chicken: spicy and crispy, with a nice tangy flavor. They aren't stingy with the Szechuan peppercorns! That distinct zingy feeling that only these peppers can provide is evident in the first bite and only grows from there. Go eat here now. Can't wait to try more! read more

I LOVE this place. Everything I've had here was super flavorful and not at all greasy. The soup dumplings are a necessity, and they're done pretty well. They won't explode before you get them in the spoon, and they're full of delicious porky flavor and an amazing broth. You must dip it into the sauce with ginger, soy, and vinegar. We also got the shandong pan fried dumplings, which had a ton of delicious filling and nicely chewy and substantial wrapper. Other favorites are the dried bean curd with peppers (spicy if you keep eating the peppers but also unfortunately addicting af), the Szechuan style sliced fish, and cumin lamb. If you're looking for really delicious and not ultra-Americanized Chinese food, this is the spot. read more

I just watched the staff go through the menus returned from the tables, one by one, page by page disinfecting them. The soup & appetizers freshly made, not frozen stuff. The dumplings & buns tasted quite authentic. We'll be back to try other things. read more

Dumpling house is the place to be with friends or family. It's a great vibe with family style meals that are shared around a lazy Susan. I highly recommend you order many dishes to share and go from there. I wouldn't recommend doing sake bombs as those weren't as well received by other dining guests as those dumplings were. Call and make a rezzo or join waitlist on yelp as it is packed on a weekend night. read more

I'm glad to see that this place is back. This place never disappoints. Awesome soup dumplings!!!

Came here based on great reviews but was disappointed. The dumplings were good, the scallion pancakes were fabulous but the shrimp dumplings were disgusting and the rice noodles were cold. Boy I sure miss the Gourmet Dumpling in China Town read more

We always call in advance when we come here as the waiting can get pretty intense on the prime time days and hours (typically weekends/Fridays for dinner). It's a good alternative to some of the other Chinese places in the area, as the food here is higher quality. Some of the hits included Szechuan fish and of course the xiao long bao's (juicy pork stuffed soup dumplings). I usually go with a group of 5-8, and we always order these two items as well as the eggplant dish (nüxiangqiezi), any fried pork disk, and a chicken dish. Decent eats but service can be spotty sometimes. read more

Dumbling House in Cambridge. MA is my favorite soup/dumplings spot. Take out or dine in, I've always had a memorable meal with friends and family. The service is impeccable, they always know how to treat customers, make the best recommendations and make you feel right at home. I love the soup/pan fried dumplings, spicy marinated cabbage and cucumber, fresh pea pod stem w/garlic, spicy eggplant, fish and the best scallion pancakes..just to name a few..lol I've been a loyal customer since the opening and Mrs. Gong really knows how to cater to my pallet! I'm super stoked I found Dumpling House and decided to order from here. One night, I really wanted soup dumplings. Ever get dumpling cravings? No? Just me? Cool. Anywayyy, I was scrolling through DoorDash and Dumpling House popped up. I was impressed by the variety of options on their menu and decided to give them a shot. My favorite item on the menu is the mini soup steamed dumplings. Seriously, order these immediately (like, now). I've also had their wonton soup and sesame chicken and would recommend those as well. The food arrived hot and the portion sizes were fairly large. I knocked one star because the prices for some dishes seem fairly high, but otherwise I'd totally recommend this place. read more

Dumpling House is my go to Chinese restaurant in Cambridge and my most recent experience did not disappoint. We ordered mini pork and crabmeat soup dumplings. Despite the 'mini' in the name, they were anything but mini and simply delicious. The noodle dishes are also great and you will not regret ordering anything here. Also, this place gets PACKED and there's often a line either waiting in the doorway or outside. Make sure you reserve a spot or get there early! They delivery during quarantine too. read more
