Pea Shoots with garlic
Annie W.

Had an early dinner here and all the dishes were good, but seemed rather expensive for what we had. There were three of us, including a 5 year old, so we didn't order a lot. Got the pea shoots with garlic, an order of the xiao lung bao (soup dumplings), the chicken and corn soup, and a fried pancake/bready thing with a couple of dipping sauces. I wasn't really hungry, so I only tasted the dishes we had. The pea shoots were very tasty and tender. The 5 year old loved the dumplings and ate quite a few of them. I think the final bill ended up being over $75, including tax and tip, and I didn't even really eat!

Sun 10/4/2026. Our hotel just happened to be a 4-minute walk (yes, I timed it) up the street from Dumpling Era. A friendly family-run hole in the wall eatery reminiscent of many mom and pop quick eats in Taiwan. We got the beef noodle soup ($13.50 ea) and a plate of pork and chive dumplings ($12 for 10 pcs). First thing I noticed was the generous portions. The beef was fairly tender and flavorful and they give you plenty. Noodles were chewy and absorbed the broth flavor well. My one suggestion is to make the broth piping hot when it is served. Lastly a little garnish of mustard greens would round the dish and make it complete. All in all, a pretty hearty noodle soup that hit the spot. Next time I will try their spicy version. The dumplings were nice too, the skin was QQ and the filling was good ratio to the skin and had good aroma and balance. I also want to mention that the hot tea was steaming hot and lovely and it was complimentary too (unusual these days). There were so many more dishes on the menu so we have to try next time, such as the pan fried bao and the beef pancake roll. Overall they just served delicious, reasonably priced, home-style dishes that will have you leaving satisfied.

Small mom and pop Restaurant serving awesome dumplings that are reasonable priced! I got crispy tofu with seven color and number 43 pork dumpling with spinach. It was so good. I added number 21 pork pot stickers to my meal. I was so totally satisfied, I ordered Yangzhou fried rice number 68. I'm not from the area. I had a one night stop over. Looked up on Yelp and found this place. Very satisfying. Highly recommend will not disappoint.

3.5/5 Small hole in the wall shop with some street parking in front of the store. My favorite was the shrimp torn noodle which had a good amount of shrimp and chewy noodles with a great sauce on it. The pork and cabbage noodles were also very good with texture and filling. The sheng jian bao was just okay (only four small buns with small filling.) The liang pi tasted kind of soggy and had a slight bitter taste and too much garlic so I would skip it.

Had high expectations due to high ratings but it was just okay. We came by for dinner and we were seated right away. It's so cold inside the restaurant btw. Service: 3/5 Only 3 tables inside but the waitress didn't really check in so my fiancé had to physically go up to her to ask for our check and then to pay. Food: 3/5 Wonton noodle soup - Not much flavor and the broth looked as clear as day which was our first time lol. Pretty sure they use handmade noodles here, which were also just okay. Shrimp torn noodle - Much more flavorful, tasted more like soy sauce? Not much noodles or shrimps and more veggies. Seafood dumplings with cuttlefish ink - This was just sad. No seafood but just 1-2 tiny pieces of shrimps with mostly green onions and chives.

Ordered off DoorDash because I was craving some good comfort Chinese food. Got some black squid dumplings, beef pancakes, and chicken chow mein. It was all very tasty and satisfying!

Didn't feel like cooking, so went here about 7:30 pm on a weekday; not crowded at all. Had a dozen dumplings, cold bean noodle dish and won ton soup. It was filling, good and service was good. I would come back here again because the location is convenient. Inside is clean and quiet.

Hole in the wall but a hidden gem It's loud as they turn dough into noodles. They don't buy store bought noodles, these are made fresh The location mainly caters to take out, the interior is industrial sparse. It's loud. The folks who work there speak Chinese loudly on their speaker phones But it's so awesome and the food is great

Dumplings were perfection ! The salt & pepper wings were recommended by the nicest lady behind the counter (I did not get a name) but they had plenty of flavor. & the veggie chow mein was also very good.

Vegetable Knife Cut Noodle-too many bean sprouts, noodles weren't great when not really warm
Julia T.

I'd probably give 3.5 stars but will round up. The dumplings here are good, and there are some seafood and vegetarian options which is always nice. Scallion pancakes were crispy and oily and delicious. Green beans a bit overseasoned but cooked well. The knife cut noodles were ok, a little too oily and if not eaten hot straight from the kitchen they were t super good, and also there were not a lot of noodles in the vegetarian noodles, it was a lot of bean sprouts. This mostly looks like a to go place, server was friendly and attentive but the ambiance of the place is pretty stark, no music, lots of tables inside though. Steamed custard buns weren't super soft. So I'd recommend the dumplings here, and if you dine in it was fine for us because it was nice and quiet and we got to chat with our friends without feeling rushed, pretty much empty except for us on a Thursday night. Street parking was available nearby and not too hard to find just off El Camino.

They will ask to see your ID, so make sure you have it with you. We ordered the beef chow fun, which was very tasty, and the egg white and dried scallop fried rice, which was also very yummy. We ordered two different fish dishes because some of us don't eat spicy food. We got the free one prepared non-spicy and ordered another one that was spicy. We also ordered their string beans, which are a must-order for us. The place isn't very spacious, so if you have a large party, you might have to wait longer. The portions are decent and the food tastes good, so there's always a line. I would recommend coming earlier or later, after the lunch-hour rush, if you don't want to wait an hour. When I questioned why a piece of BBQ pork appeared to be included with my soy sauce chicken takeout, he became angry, yelled at me, and handed me chopsticks to find it myself. His behavior was extremely rude and unprofessional. The food was also disappointing. I will not be returning. I hope management takes this complaint seriously.

Are you looking for Lanzhou Beef Noodles? Keep looking. Aside from the decor and Chinese speaking…read moreservice, this place does not give me any other authentic vibe, much less the taste and presentation. Service is fast but somehow rude (our server never smiled). You order via QR code and the dishes don't all come together. I ordered a Lanzhou noodle and a Xinjiang Noodle with a side of beef, and while the prices seem very fair, the amount of substance reflects the price. The noodles are minimal, and they only give you a few beef slices in the Lanzhou noodles. You would have to order to combo with skewers to feel full. Although the noodles are handpulled, they have a texture that was a little too tough. The soup tasted HEAVILY of powder seasonings instead of actual broth, and I did not take more than a few sips. It came with a lot of spicy oil, but the noodle dish barely had a kick. The Xinjiang noodle was basically an American Chinese takeout beef with noodles. The beef was both tender yet hard to chew, probably from the amount of starch/baking soda during marination. I did not taste a hint of cumin, which is a staple in Xinjiang cuisine involving meats. Although this dish had more value than the Lanzhou noodles, do not have high hopes on the taste profile or presentation. The only redeeming dish was the side of beef we got. It was flavorful and came with a relatively thick stack, and we foolishly thought it was all beef. However, under the thin layer of beef, a bunch of cucumbers shockingly came into view, and I felt ripped off for paying $11 for essentially 6 pieces of meat. The service was nonexistent, except during checkout. We had a question during checkout since a dish of ours was cancelled, and the server did not seem to know what we were talking about. The food also does not come out in a good pace; we got our beef noodles halfway into our meal, and the table of 2 next to us did not get their second order of noodles until 10min after the first one.

I was skeptical…read moreat first because of some bad reviews, but decided to give it a shot so I could judge myself. Went in today, Thursday evening around 6pm and was seated promptly. The restaurant is very clean and spacious with 2 different seating levels. Cleanliness is a huge deal for me and ever since I saw a cockroach at two different visits at the place up the street, I'm always hesitant to go back there and that's another reason why I ended up here too. As many people have stated, street parking really sucks, but there is the Miller Avenue Garage just up the street so I'm not sure why people always complain about that... It's literally a 2min walk, but you know most people don't bother to look and want a spot right in front of an establishment ‍ We started off with the A4 appetizer which is the fried chicken wings. The menu states it's 5 wings, but we got 9. I was a little confused at first, but looking back now, it is 5 WHOLE wings, but broken down its 10 single pieces (5 flats and 5 drums)... I guess they shorted us one piece, but whatever They were pretty tasty, not oily at all and served with a side of fish sauce. For an entree I got the #13 TÁI, GẦU, which is pho with medium rare steak and well-done brisket. It was really yummy and wasn't watered down as read in many reviews. I really liked the fact that you could choose a size instead of just a massive bowl because I hate taking leftover soup as the noodles don't really hold well and get too soggy... iykyk!! I got the small and finished it all! I could've probably done a medium, but tbh it was the perfect size for me as we also had the wings and a soda too. It was a really great value compared to other spots I've been to. For 3 bowls of pho, an order of wings, 2 sodas and a Thai ice tea, the total came out to $80. Oh, fyi I tried my son's Thai tea and unfortunately I wasn't a huge fan of it, but other than that everything else was awesome and I will definitely be back.

First, the sauce: if you're expecting a true creamy peanut dipping sauce, beware! Words to my heart, you know. Despite being sold out on some of the items we wanted to try, we still really enjoyed what we did order. Portions were generous and not too pricy. That alone is a huge plus because we don't have a lot of places in the peninsula to pick up these items, especially compared to the city. The fish porridge was complete comfort. Texture was good and there was plenty of fish to go around. The pork noodles were deeply savory but the pops of pickled vegetables against the silky rice noodles also really hit the spot.
